I am using this with 2 - MP...

Strengths: Fast when it's working!

Weakness: Far Too Many to list here!

I am using this with 2 - MP 1600+'s, Adaptec 39160 - w/2 Fuji 10K U160 drives, 3Com Nic, ATI Radeon (Tried the Elsa Gladiac 920 but had far too many problems) - Running Win XP. What a freakin' nightmare. Up and down far too much. The chipset on this baord is the worst. Tyan has lost me forever. I want to know what they gave to the reviewers of sites and mag's that was good enough to get them to...

If you are thinking about getting...

Strengths: Absolutely none

Weakness: way to many to list here!

If you are thinking about getting this motherboard / chipset, don't do it. The 760mp chipset could be one of the worst ever made! I have struggled with it for 10 months now. It will run great for a month or so then it just starts blue screening… start over re-install everything and keep on going and then do it all over in a month or 2. If you require a system that needs to work, don’t even...

I am using Crucial (Micron) RAM...

Strengths: I'm running a dual 1600+ system with 512MB of RAM. It's got loads of power with lots to spare. I can have many applications running at the same time and won't even feel it.

Weakness: Tyan Tech Support sucks. They also don't have system monitor software for this borad although they bothered to include the Winbond SysMon chip. And none of the commercial sysmon packages work well.

I am using Crucial (Micron) RAM and when I had an issue, the Tech Support guys claimed that it was because my memory was not tested with their board and to use a brand as tested on their webpage. How can you test all sorts of generic RAM and not test RAM from the 2nd largest RAM manufacturer in the world???? You tell me. Besides these little issues, my overall satisfaction with the board is...

This is an excellent motherboard....

Strengths: Mine has dual AMD MP 1600+ with 512MB DDR ECC REG RAM. It's freakin fast with lots of processing power to spare.

Weakness: Only for the rich and single guys. Since the memory cost you an arm and a leg.

This is an excellent motherboard. The memory slot are kind of tight, but you can still fit all 4 memory sticks without a hassle. Be sure to buy a full tower case, because my mid tower case won't fit when I installed the CD-ROM drives. If you're reasonably rich and power-hungry like me, then this is the board to get.

This board installs great, has...

Strengths: Good idea, good reviews from people who can run it.

Weakness: Won't boot when all parts are in specs. Tyan has nearly nonexistant tech support. RAM slots are too tight.

This board installs great, has good documentation, jumper settings are clear and the board is designed well. Power requirements are supposted to be 300W with a +5 rail of 30A, but this is only sometimes correct. Go with 350 or 400W. Has trouble with Ram seating, configurations, and type (registered DDR is required). Many people hav problems with getting the thing to POST, boot, or run without...
