Nice monitor, but extras leave something to be desired
Strengths: Swivel stance, easy setup, good support from HP, clean display, great graphics, clean text
Weakness: Color bleed at edges, mediocre speaker quality of monitor, excessively wide for need (could remove speakers and reduce price)
Overall, this is an impressive display. The colors are vibrant, and the text is clear. The base is easy to adjust up and down, and it does offer 2 USB ports (requires 1), however, the quality of the spakers is not that exceptional. Overall, this is an impressive display. The colors are vibrant, and the text is clear. The base is easy to adjust up and down, and it does offer 2 USB ports (requires 1), however, the quality of the spakers is not that exceptional.
The speakers rattle a bit when they are placed at high volume and are not able to maintain accurate reproduction of lower frequency sounds (around 30 Hz), at the "bass" sounding levels. Thsi makes the display excessively wide, and it owuld have been better for HP to remove the speaks and maket he display more narrow to save some money. Theyu couldpass this on the consumer, and/or increased the size of the display to 22".
There is some bleed from the sides of the monitor too, especially of the blue color, which can be annoying if you are trying to watch a movie on the monitor at night time. The monitor doesn't lend itself to night time watching as much as it could or should do.
Overall, the display is exceptionally crisp, and its a nice 1680x1050 display. My laptop has a 1680x1050 display pushed on a 15.4" WSXGA+, but I prefer the monitor for watching movies and playing games on.
I would recommend this if you are interested in a good monitor for doing work, if you watnt one for gaming, save up some more money and go with a 24" display, 1920x1200 at least. If you do not need a wide screen display, a 19" is fine, but the DVI connection on this makes it a winner. Overall, 8/10 or 4/5.

Strengths: Picture quality, looks, build quality
Weakness: Installation issue
This is an excellent monitor that displays vibrant colors and sharp text/graphics. The quality of the panel itself is very good and the case and base look upscale. The only issue I had was that, upon installation, I got a video signal error. This was remedied by unplugging the monitor, holding the power button for 5 seconds, and plugging it back in. All in all, an excellent buy.

Nice monitor at a great price
Strengths: Picture, Picture, Picture It has a PVA screen, which performs a lot better than the TN screens.
Weakness: Don't know why the manufacturer puts speakers on monitors.
Nice picture and a value in upgrading from my old CRT. Doesn't look cheap like some of the other monitors. Wall mounting is easy. The HP f2105 is a good 21" monitor at a decent price. It has a PVA screen, which performs a lot better than the TN screens. No backlight bleeding. Full 8-bit color.

HPF2105 21 inch Monitor
Strengths: Wow! Thats a lot of screen, I love it! Easy to view, very large, dont have to scroll over to see the rest of the page anymore. Nice colors, qreat quality for the money.

HP f2105 21
Strengths: The colors are brillant alon with the clarity and sharpness. A real value in upgrading from my old 19" CRT. The controls on the front are a real plus.
Weakness: The silver color matches my other equipment, computer, printer, etc. However, my wife prefers a black outline around the viewing area.
I was waiting to replace my 19" CRT monitor with a 21" LCD that I could afford. This was the second model that I found. The high resolution of this monitor makes it a real bargain. The $50 rebate from HP put the price well below my $400 target.
