The display and color is great, but for my purposes, this monitor slow me down. I use this monitor at work and have mutlitple consoles and PC's connected that I need fast switching for.
The problem I have is that the menu's will prevent you from quickly swithcing inputs as there is various areas where you must wait before you can proceed and perform other tasks such as setting the PIP input after turning PIP on. As well, The user must press any button twice before the desired effect occurs.(i.e. I want to turn on PIP but just to do that I have too press PIP twice. It's super annoying when I'm trying to work quickly that PIP doesn't turn on automatically.)
Another thing about the interface I don't like is that the PIP input will frequently reset itself to S-video, and I don't even have anything hooked to S-video.
More annoying things regarding PIP is that the PIP sizes are too small.
If you only need this for one computer or don't switch input frequently, this monitor rocks. But if you're like me and you switch inputs with high frequency, this monitor will slow you down notably.

Strengths: Excelent picture quality. Good functionality. Reasonable price.
Weakness: None so far.
I did a lot of research on 24" monitors over the past few months. I finally decided that I liked the features and functionality of this Dell 24" monitor. Being able to use it with a tuner as a TV was a real plus. The large size was another. The picture is sharp and brillant. I have an older computer system so I did have to upgrade my video board. So far, I am very pleased with this monitor.

Strengths: Size, ports, flexibility, image
This is a great monitor. It is very large and has great color plus a variety of useful ports/hookups. It is perhaps a little pricey for the average person, but since I'm rather rich, I could care less.

Decent, all around
Strengths: Large screen size No input lag (when compared visually to a 22" CRT at the same resolution) Saturated colors
Weakness: No contrast control (brightness only) Some ghosting Color banding in gradient areas Some moire issues

The Dell 2407 is a great all around monitor, suffers from no visually noticeable input lag, and has a super bright, large screen. I am a hardcore gamer and graphic designer. I calibrate monitors for a living. The Dell 2407 is a great all around monitor, suffers from no visually noticeable input lag, and has a super bright, large screen. If you are not going to judge its color fidelity or use it for intense photo editing or other color work, this monitor will do you fine. It responds well to fast paced games, and it interpolates other resolutions well.
However, it does suffer from some fidelity issues. The shadow detail is dark in most areas, and colors are saturated and tend to drift towards red. There is noticeable white ghosting (in, for example, Internet Explorer or other fast text scrolling) yet no black smearing (as in fast paced games). The backlight is even, but i'm skeptical that it's 1000:1. When comparing the 2407 to my 800:1 contrast Viewsonic LCD, the 2407 is definitely not better, and actually, the blacks on the 2407 are muddy whereas on the Viewsonic they are rather deep (although the Viewsonic suffers from a slightly uneven backlight issue, the Dell 2407 backlight was more comparable to the lighter areas of the uneven Viewsonic backlight rather than the darker ones. I would have guessed the opposite).
All in all the Dell 2407 is a good buy for the 24" of real estate you gain, but if you require more accurate color, shadow detail for intense PhotoShop work, and no color banding, look elsewhere.
Please note this review was of a revision A03 Dell 2407WFPb manufactured in December 2006 with an HN208 panel.

I have owned this monitor for almost two months and I am very impressed with its quality and all of its functions! This is the first time I have owned such a big monitor and I can say Dell is one of the companies who can make you happy!
