Slick Display

Strengths: Amazingly crisp, Outstanding color, USB 2.0

Weakness: There are negatives?!

This is an amazing display. I haven't even tried DVI yet, but just on analog, the 1600x1200 resolution SHINES with unreal clarity and color. I don't game, but rather use it for digit photography, and the quality is incredible. I have watched some movies on it and see no lag or shadowing in the video. This is amazing display, especially for $371 to my door. I'm buying 2 more shortly.

Good LCD... with discounts

Strengths: Excellent view, very sharp text (on DVI), easy to adjust, high resolution (1,600 x 1,200)

Weakness: Price is high without discounts, USB ports are inconveniently placed

I bought two of these monitors on January 27th, and they arrives on January 31st, using only ground shipping. There was a 25% discount at that time, which means the total came out to $1026.53 with tax and shipping. Both boxes arrived in excellent condition, and the monitors themselves were in excellent condition as well. The monitors were an upgrade from my two 17" LCDs and the 30% increase in...

Nyathi

Strengths: No dead pixels after 3 monitors

Weakness: Brightness variations!

I purchased a Dell 2001FP with my previous Dell computer about 10 months ago. No problems, it was great and served me well. I sold the old computer about a month ago and upgraded to an XPS 600. When the new computer came, the screen showed a noticable bright spot in the upper left corner. I complained and was sent a replacement, which arrived this morning. However, the replacement is just as bad,...

Great LCD

Strengths: Excellent picture with DVI, input options are good, USB ports are very handy

Weakness: None

I love this monitor. The picture is excellent with DVI (using my Apple and PC). Can't say anything about analog mode, but really, why would you connect via analog anyways?

Also has PIP mode, but that is about as useful as any PIP ever is.

I would definitely recommend this monitor to anyone looking to get a LCD to replace their stupid bulky 17" CRT.

I have worked on the web since...

Strengths: Picture quality in DVI-D mode is superb. The quality of LCD to price ratio here is unmatched. Not one bad pixel on display. Swivel from landscape to portrait mode, tilt up down left right. USB Hub!

Weakness: No brightness or image settings in DVI mode. Analog performance is noticably less than DVI

I have worked on the web since it's origins in 93, have run design departments for years, so I have seen a few screens in my time. The quality of the 2001FP to price ratio is just unbeatable. Wait for the right desktop promotion (20-30% off), or online coupon and get it way under the normal price. I purchased and XPS and the 1704FPt from dell all at the same time. I am using the 17 as a side...
