Sony PlayStation Vita (Wi-Fi)
4 Star Review cnet.com - Feb 13, 2012

THE GOOD: The PlayStation Vita delivers amazing visuals on its 5-inch OLED touch screen that look almost as good as PS3 graphics. The systems launch lineup is very impressive and allows for downloading of some games (including all first-party titles) over the PlayStation Network. The Vitas operating system is smartly designed, easy to use, and ultraresponsive. The unit feels great to hold and has excellent standby battery life. THE BAD: The Vita uses proprietary media and connections across the board, and even requires the purchase of a separate memory card to play most games and use most apps, which results in a hidden cost. Battery life could be better, and theres no way it can be replaced by the user. Theres also no video out. Also, some antipiracy implementations are a bit cumbersome to deal with (for example, mounting the Vita to a PC/Mac for file transfer). Its also unclear how much storage the Vita has onboard, and itll cost you more money for larger Vita Memory Cards. THE BOTTOM LINE: Overall, the PlayStation Vita is the most advanced portable gaming system ever made. While the price is deceiving because of a hidden cost, gamers are getting an impressively complete package right out of the gate. A healthy launch lineup is sure to provide something for every kind of gamer, and a large selection of digital downloads is available right now.

The only thing I don't like, is the poor choice of games available

Great but pricey
5 Star Review By Boniccal on Sony - Official Store - Sep 19, 2013

The Vita is a great portable console, but Sony has made it so expensive to own that I have to wonder if a price cut is coming in the next few months. It's ridiculous that Sony created a new memory card format just for this system, rendering the memory cards used in PSPs useless. These memory cards are much too expensive. Also, the new game cartridge format means that any games you've purchased for the PSP will not work on this system. With games averaging around $40 and going up to $50, it's hard imagine how this system will become a mainstream success. You're looking at around $500 just to get started with a couple of decent games. Cost aside, the device is great with exceptional graphics and tight controls. I found the navigation system to be unnecessarily complicated. In fact, I had to do an on-line search just to figure out how to close a game. I'm not sure why Sony did away with the X-bar menu system it used on the PSP and other devices. The new system looks like a less sophisticated verson of Apple's navigation scheme. A note to Sony: it's going to be a slap in the face of consumers if you release a Vita Slim in about a year. Make the device right the first time!

Good Buy
5 Star Review By Schoonerthedog on Sony - Official Store - Aug 12, 2012

I love my Vita, it took some getting use to, but after a week I understood everything on it. After a week though, i started noticing scratches after just putting it in an empty pocket about 15 times, it doesn't have a durable screen at all, my suggestion with it if you plan on buying one is that you also buy a Zagg Shield and a hard shell case. Also, it has a very small game library at the moment

Nothing special
3 Star Review By kalte on Sony - Official Store - Jul 15, 2012

While it has a very decent hardware, it fails to shine. First, web navigation is slow, facebook is much more faster in a cell phone. It has to load for everything, even to enter settings it has a little load time. In game load times are long, much more than in PSP, but once the game is running it's not annoying, you just have to wait a lot until you can play (at least on Disgaea 3 or Motorstorm). Coming from Sony it's not a surprise it uses, again, a new propietary memory card, so you have to play more for something that you can't use it anywhere outside the Vita (they say it's for "protection" against piracy, but encripting a microSD would do the same and cheaper for consumers). Screen has nice colors and it's responsive, too bad it's resolution it's not very high. A high end phone, with a 4 inches screen has HD resultion (Xperia S anyone?), here with 5 inches it just like an iPhone. Rear touchpad, in my opinion is useless. Cameras are very good, nice colors and definition, too bad it does not have a LED flash for rear camera. Not a very ergonomic device, can't play for more than half an hour withouth y fingers and hand starts to hurt. No TV out?? Seriously? Probably in the future they'll sell us a $50 dollars device to do it... Overall a decent device, can deliver tons of fun, but has many flaws. Hopefully most of them can be fixed, as they're software related.

Amazing little product
5 Star Review By Rsaun18 on Sony - Official Store - Jun 28, 2012

I love this thing, it's a powerful little device, and an amazing one, the graphics are great, and the anolog sticks help A LOT however it's a little expensive, and so are the memory cards, even a price drop of like $10 on the memory cards would be very helpful.

Awesome BUT,,,,,
4 Star Review By GPSDude on Sony - Official Store - Mar 16, 2012

I absolutly love this device. Sony seems to have got on the bandwagon and made thier user interfaces more user friendly. < I love the ease of use in navigating all the menues and browsing the playstation store. Big plus! < The Facebook application has one flaw and that is I cannot delete anything I post or that is on my wall like in the computer version. < CONS < PSP support - < I have about 80 or so PSP games that I would like to use and unfortunately have to purchase again if I want to play them. A portable UMD drive would be great that connects to the unit to read PSP games would win me over. Until then I will just lug around two gaming units. < Video Playback - < I have numerous dvd's that have an included digital copy contained within them and the lack of support for more digital formats is annoying. I even have trouble getting a MP4 video to play unless it is a strict format. < Price of downloadable movies - < The prices of the digital downloadable movies in the playstation store is outragous. I can buy a dvd from the 80's for $5.00 at HMV. The music industry got the point by reducing the costs of thier music so why can't the film industry do the same? < Digital is a format with no garuntees. At least when I buy a DVD I have the DVD so nothing can go wrong. If I loose the digital file I am hooped. < The positives outweight the negatives though. Great little system Sony! You did good on this one.

GREAT!!
4 Star Review By Hockeylover555 on Sony - Official Store - Mar 8, 2012

Okay, so I purchased my ps vita not too long after it got released and I have to say that I am quite impressed! It is quite amazing!! Although it may be big and somewhat thick, it fits great in your hands and is actually very light weight. You wouldn't want it any thinner because it wouldn't fit your hand right! But anyways the only thing that could make I beyond awesome is if they brought the android market to it! I don't see why they couldn't, it has a touch screen and many more features! I hope Sony will consider this!!

Amazing my kid love it
5 Star Review By lke1 on Sony - Official Store - Feb 24, 2012

My kid has all type of game consoles including playstation 3, wii, xbox 360, nintendo ds, also he has all the top games for the ipad and the iphone, we loves to play with the iphone and ipad games. Yesterday I buy him the playstation vita and he is amazed with the playstation vita, he love the vita, he goes to all places with his new vita, it has clearly the best graphics of any portable game system, and there is no way you can compare the vita games to the ones of the ipad or the iphone. My kid can use the iphone 4S or the ipad 2 at any time to play games and he choose to play games with his vita. I am sure that sony is going to sell a lot of vita consoles because everything is amazing. Unfortunatly my kid does not let me play with the vita that is the reason I can't give a better review but from what I have seen the vita is the best portable gaming system in the world. Sony has built a winner system that will make people play games in their system instead of mobile phones.

What this needs to be a hit
3 Star Review By MHIG on Sony - Official Store - Feb 19, 2012

These are questions I wish Sony would address in it's marketing (or incorporate into it's development) 1. Are it's games backwards compatable with earlier PSPs? 2. If not will Sony offer discounts for PSP users that already own a PSP version of a game title? 3. Does it have a touchpad QWERTY for internet access or is it as cumbersome as the older PSP text input was? Thanks.

PSVita Value
5 Star Review By Nifes on Sony - Official Store - Sep 23, 2011

PSVita is great system, the power of it is awesome and games look great on it. At E3 i fell in love with the Vita and i say the best model would have to be wifi only model. The 3G model is good but u can get wifi in ur car in these's days. Anyway i hope all PSN fans get their hands on this beast because i did ready with pro-order. And the only thing about Vita is the price is not worth it's total amount, its worth about 199.99 so 200.00$ total sense it has bad battery life and no memory card comes with it.
