Do not lose your Interface cable!

Strengths: Small, compact, light weight, takes up very little room.

Weakness: Comes with ten tips (plugs) which are supposed to fit virtually any laptop out there. Not true. At least one - my HP Pavilion 8000 - is on their approved list, but is incompatable

This is a great product laid low by certain manufacturer policies which result in tech non-support.

The product is designed to add supplementary battery power to a laptop. It plugs into the laptop's power port and looks like AC power to the computer. It comes with ten cable tips (plugs), one of which is supposed to fit into just about every laptop out there.

Problem 1: Tip #5 is specified for my HP Pavilion 8000, but it didn't work. I couldn't push it far enough into the power port for it to make contact. I called tech non-support and was told that tip #5 is supposed to work. But it doesn't! The gal on the other end essentially said tough, it's supposed to work and there's nothing we can do about it. I got clever and used some rough sandpaper to file down the plug until it made contact. Problem solved.

It worked great after that, extending my battery life by close to three hours.

Problem 2: This is the killer. I accidently left the interface cable, that's the one that connects the battery to the PC, in a hotel room on my last business trip. I called tech non-support to order a replacement and was promptly told that I couldn't. Huh? Yes, we only sell the cable along with the battery. If you want the cable you have to buy another battery. We don't have a part number for only the cable! We get lots of calls like yours, but there's nothing we can do.

So for lack of what is probably a $10.00 or $15.00 cable, here I am with a $170.00 paper weight because somebody doesn't want to create a new part number!! Does this make any sense whatsoever?

My recommendation is do not do business with this company. They are a bunch of thieves!

Weakness: Ten enclosed power tips (plugs) do not fit all laptops; they don't even fit at least one that's on the approved list - mine!
