light, perfect for traveling

Strengths: LIGHT, long battery life, nice screen, built in sprint wireless, and many more

Weakness: solo processor, annoying fan, and loading with unneeded crap.

I upgraded to this one from an older vaio that weighed 5+ lbs.
Oh, what a difference, the screen in really thin, big enough for enjoying DVDs, mine came with a 60 day office trial which came handy before my trip. I got it for $1699 + tax, which is the lowest I found online.
The battery life on this baby is amazing, it gave me a good 7 hours! I know it can do more.
Highly recommended.

Vaio TXN17P/B Superportable Notebook

Strengths: Portability Weight Battery Life Sexy Run the wireless gamut

Weakness: Fragile Sony bloatware Lack of built-in microphone

I have been waiting for this laptop to come down in price for a long time. Since I lost my TR3AP about 2 years ago I've been wanting to get a TX series but have been on the fence because of the lack of a built-in webcam. When I saw it for less than 1700 I jumped on it and put my Asus G1 on ebay almost instantly. The battery life is killer on this machine. This is not for the power user, but...

Great tiny laptop!

Strengths: Weight - only 2.8 lbs Screen - beautiful Battery life - used it all day long without plugging it in!

Weakness: Speed - fine for everyday tasks but slow processor

This laptop is for those who need/want ultra portability. It has fantastic battery life and is great for the mobile professional. The laptop lacks the newest processor but is still able to handle Vista when it is ready. There are still some kinks with it so I would not recommend vista for this plus it will likely decrease the battery life. Overall - if you can afford it and need a small laptop,...

Great Ultra Portable Laptop

Strengths: Ultra portable, great battery life.

Weakness: Not for multitasking.

I have the vaio TX-850p which has very similar specs for around 4-5 months now. I paid $1600 for it. Its a great little notebook with a carbon fibre lid. I have always been partial to thinkpads but there is no other notebook under 3 lbs with a built in optical drive and 7 hr battery life. Dunno why ppl keep harping on the core solo. Its plenty fast for normal everyday stuff. I triple boot,...
