Perfect for my use

I bought this laptop to use both at home and on my boat when cruising. It was exceptionaly easy to get started. I really like Windows 8. Not the Best for the High Price

It took me HOURS to try and figure out how to get around on this computer. I first had to delete 'NORTON' ( Symantic Corp Program) because it bogged down the computer too much. ALL the automatic updating needed to be turned off. We conserve energy in this house by turning off anything that is not being used. How can I receive, download and install updates if the computer is turned off at 3 a.m.?
