5 Star Review   By anonymous - Nov 19, 2013

All around Awesome PC/Tablet! Using it in front of family & friends over Christmas I think I sold at least 5 of these, the name Envy is accurate:) I can do everything on this computer. I've installed a full version of MS Office 365 and it works flawlessly. I love the option to be able to go to a standard Windows desktop for some apps and then back to the new Windows 8 "Metro" desktop. There are plenty of apps in the Windows app store to keep me busy. Web browsing is superior in every way compared to the ipad (Our ipad has been collecting dust since this purchase). The integration to the XBOX 360 is really cool and easy to use. I can stream my movies and music and browse the web on the big TV screen from the Envy. Battery life is great and the build is solid. It's been dropped by the kids and had some water spilled on it and it's still running like a champ. I would highly recommend.

Poor performance
2 Star Review   By HpEnvyx2User2013 on HP - May 8, 2013

I purchased the tablet convertible with the idea that I can use the tablet part to take on trips. Unfortunately, I can't take just the tablet since the keyboard base is needed to recharge the tablet part. I only use the tablet for surfing the net and emails, yet the tablet keeps freezing and needs rebooting frequently. Also when using the tablet in a vertical position, due to poor placement of the Windows icon, I would frequently accidentally hit the Windows icon which would close my table-top window. Very annoying! At times the touch gesture would not work to zoom in for inexplicable reasons. It is also very underpowered. Since I have to take the keyboard AND the tablet on trips, I would sooner take my HP dm1Z which is much more powerful and weigh the same as a unit. The pros of the Envy x2 is the battery life, it runs quietly, and it does not heat up unlike my other laptops. Overall, disappointing performance for the money spent. Also, Windows 8 needs improvement.

Almost there.
4 Star Review   By oldpro on HP - Apr 1, 2013

Just took my first trip with the X2, and it was a lot more convenient than my laptop. Only issue was that mousing was twitchy on the touchpad with random jumps of the cursor from time to time. HP -- the X2 needs a tablet-only cover to complete the job of being a tablet as well as a notebook. Something that would protect the screen when carrying around just the tablet portion.

HP Envy X2
3 Star Review   By IBED on HP - Mar 18, 2013

I did a lot of research before buying and purchased the Envy X2. It is a great double as a tablet and netbook. It has some technical issues with keyboard and mouse lockups and lockups if you have too many tabs open in internet explorer. I am pleased with my purchase and for what I use it for being a netbook, e reader, and travel companion. I wish windows 8 would advise you when it is downloading updates as I believe that causes some of the lockups. You don't know until you try to shut it down that an update has been downloaded.

Even Better Than Expected
5 Star Review   By Bobnj on HP - Mar 17, 2013

I scoured all reviews before picking this up on sale for a great price. It's actually replacing a Macbook Air. Yes, it's that good. I'm a writer, not a gamer -- and have found no problems with performance, keyboard, trackpad. It's silent, with a super long-lasting battery (which was the Macbook Air's fatal flaw) -- and, then, it's a really nice tablet too. Great product, for what I want and need.

BUYER BEWARE
3 Star Review   By BigMac23 on HP - Mar 6, 2013

This is a great little laptop/convertible, not the best out there but not bad. My issue is that HP has failed to provide any sort of stylus support. The active stylus support that was alluded to has not appeared and customer support now actively says there is no stylus support. Your only option is a cheap non-active stylus, which doesn't work very well because of the multi-touch screen. So if tablet & writting support is important to you go with a competing product.

5 Star Review   By apm1 on HP - Feb 3, 2013

I bought the HP Envy x2 which is replacing my Samsung tablet. I love being able to detach the screen to make it a tablet, you just push a little button and the top comes off easily. The screen is very clear and the size is perfect (better than 10"). I have bought other HP products and I have been very satisfied with the products I have bought from HP and this is no different. Very light and sleek I just love it.

An Excellent Windows 8 Tablet PC
4 Star Review   By TheGM on HP - Jan 30, 2013

After multiple iPADS, two different ANDROID tablets (Nexus 7 and ASUS Transformer Infinity), I purchased a Windows Surface tablet in December. I have to admit I was impressed with the Surface. Excellent build quality, good display. But could it replace my laptop for traveling? No, Windows 8 RT was just too limiting. This HP Envy X2 seems to have gotten everything just right. First, it is very solidly built. All parts are machined aluminum. The keyboard dock feels very sturdy and connects with a solid click. The 11.6" size is also a BIG difference from the Surface and definitely from the 'normal' 10 inch tablets. I can actually use this for work, and split screening two apps is actually useable. Battery life for this ATOM based system is not as good as the Surface, but it is better than twice what my laptop gets. My only complaint is lack of any sort of USB on the detachable tablet. HP, could you make a 'dongle' accessory like ASUS VivoTab has? That would make this perfect! -GM-
