Acer Aspire 5738-6969 | 2.2GHz T6600 - 4GB RAM - 500GB HDD
3.5 Star Review  productwiki.com - Nov 29, 2010

The Acer Aspire 5738 is a mid-range consumer notebook for portable, everyday computing. It features a 15.6-inch display, and weighs 6.2 pounds. Although available in several configurations, the 5738 is most commonly found with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, clocking in at 2.0 GHz, and featuring 3 GB of RAM, with a 320 GB hard drive. The CPU is similar to those available with lower models like the 5730 and 5735, but the 5738 features a larger hard drive, as well as an HDMI port and, supposedly, a brighter screen. With integrated Intel graphics, it is not intended to enable superior gaming experiences. Other features include a DVD writer, 5-in-1 card reader, four USB ports, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. Windows Vista Home Premium arrives preloaded. Features 15.6" (1366 x 768) TFT LCD display 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo dual-core processor 3 GB RAM 320 GB hard drive Integrated graphics HDMI port ... PROS: (1) light weight and well balanced, easy to carry around (2) screen is very bright, can handle direct sunlight (3) keyboard is comfortable to use and easy to navigate (4) multitasks many applications at once without slowing down (5) battery life is above average ... CONS: (1) WiFi connection is fairly weak, has a hard time connecting to some routers (2) ships with a large collection of software that isnt of any use

I expected better than average...
3 Star Review   By Urbngdss on Buydig.com - Jan 6, 2010

Strengths: great keyboard, excellent graphics, good amount of storage

Weakness: VERY POOR Battery life. The specs approximate the battery life to be 4.5 hours. The best I have been able to get is 2 hours and 5 minutes when fully charged.

I do like this computer for the most part. It is pretty fast, and has great graphics and more than adequate storage. However, the battery life is more than a little disappointing. When specs lead you to believe that it has 4.5 hours, you expect it to be exaggerated, but the most I have been able to get out of a fully charged battery is 2 hours and 5 minutes, which is less than half of what Acer states on their specs. I am seriously considering returning this computer for this reason.
