Logitech Wave Keyboard
4 Star Review  productwiki.com - May 26, 2008

The Logitech Wave keyboard aims to take comfort to heart with a patented design that strives to mimic the natural placement of your hands and fingers on the keyboard. Although the design is meant to make typing for long periods of time more comfortable, Logitech is not claiming this keyboard to be ergonomic but rather a comfort keyboard, so if you have carpal tunnel issues, you may not find this keyboard suitable. The keys form a U shape with variable height difference, depending on the natural length of your fingers. Your shorter pinky fingers that rest on the A and semi-colon are slightly raised and the key height shifts gradually from there. The overall keyboard is raised (in the wave pattern) towards the middle keys - G, H, etc. Logitechs wave keyboard competes with Microsofts Natural version, although Microsoft chose to go with a split version whereas the Logitech focuses solely ... PROS: (1) programmable keys for favorite applications (2) Ergonomic-like design without the split (3) Comfortable on your wrists (4) Very quiet (5) Wireless version available ... CONS: (1) Mouse and Keyboard are connected to the same transmitter in the wireless version so you cant separate them. (2) not a fully ergonomic keyboard

Solid USB Wired Keyboard
5 Star Review   By member cipresso - Jul 1, 2008

Strengths: Solid Feel, Multiple One Touch Function Keys, "FN" + "F" keys for Quick Program Access, Comfortable Padded Wrist Rest, 5 Year Warranty

Weakness: Size

Overall this is a great USB wired keyboard that is easy to adjust to. I already had a Logitech wireless mouse, so the most current software for keyboard was already on my pc. Just plugged it in and it was fully operational. Only had to program the 3 function keys. * Keyboard includes several one touch pre-programmed keys for things like adjusting volume, zoom, document flip, calculator, my pictures folder, media player and more. These keys can actually be changed to handle other functions. Also, it has 3 indicators that light up for Caps, Scroll Lock and Num Locks that are missing on some Logitech keyboards. * Has an “FN” function key that when held down, will allow you to press one of the “F1” thru “F12” function keys for quick program access. The “FN” + F-Keys are programmed to open Word, Excel, Calendar, Internet Explorer, Email and more. There are also three F-keys that can be programmed to do your specific functions. * For anyone that uses a USB KVM switch with the scroll key to change sources, this keyboard will work. You simply hold the “FN” key and press the “Break” key twice to switch between sources. * If you are used to a standard keyboard, this Wave keyboard is much easier to adjust to then a full ergonomic keyboard. It is not a full ergonomic keyboard, since it doesn't have the split down the middle. I have one that was hardly used, because it took to long to adjust to. The Wave was very easy to adapt to. So overall, its a great keyboard that you can find at a reasonable price.

The best keyboard I've had in years
5 Star Review   By member scottegos2 - Jun 29, 2008

Strengths: solid construction nice key feel good angle

Weakness: not quite clicky enough for my taste

This is the best keyboard of the dozens I've tried since the Omnikey Ultra almost 20 years ago. It has enough angle, feedback, and key spacing, and feedback to be useful for touchtyping (although I guess I'd prefer a *little* more feedback on the keystrokes). The "waviness" where the keys are at slightly different heights corresponding to finger lengths is a brilliant idea. It noticeable reduces fatigue after long use.

Great keyboard
4 Star Review   By member Aisteru - Feb 27, 2008

Strengths: Keys are quiet, comfortable, easily customizable function keys, adjustable height

Weakness: Takes a bit of time to get used to the spacing of some keys, small problem with mouse dpi

This keyboard is more or less my first non-OEM keyboard, and it's been quite an improvement. The large wrist rest is quite comfortable, as is typing in general. The spacing of the F keys (groups of 3) is actually more convenient than I thought it would be. The function keys are very easily customizable, and the software installation was quick and painless. One issue I did have was that it's for some reason interfering with the dpi of my mouse (Razer Copperhead) and decreasing the max dpi I can go to; it's still quite usable though. I'd recommend this for anyone looking for more comfort and functionality at a good price.

nice feel
5 Star Review   By member imkey - Feb 2, 2008

Strengths: nice key arrangement solid construction stable

Weakness: takes a while to get use to price

This is a great logitech keyboard. It is so much better to get a well constructed keyboard then those that are $10-20 dollars. Good keyboard = healthy wrist. Don't go for the flimsy kind!

Love this keyboard
4 Star Review   By member eacer - Jan 22, 2008

Strengths: Wave design, comfortable touch, usb powered and customizable buttons.

Weakness: Software: SetPoint 4.0a

I bought this keyboard to replace my MX Duo. Love it when I first saw it. Keys feel very comfortable to touch. It comes with a PS/2 adapter in case you don't want to connect it through usb (why?). The shortcut keys are a plus for lazy people. The box said certified for Vista, but I'm using XP and I have no problem. However, the software (SetPoint 4.0) that comes with it doesn't connect with the keyboard that well. I need to download the latest SetPoint 4.2 to have it work perfectly.

A High-Quality Keyboard
5 Star Review   By member TBryan76 - Dec 29, 2007

Strengths: Wave shape makes typing easier. Key presses are comfortable; build quality is very good. Plenty of customizable buttons.

Weakness: Not a fully "ergonomic" keyboard, if that's what you're looking for.

The Logitech Wave keyboard is a compromise between regular "flat" keyboards and the ergonomic "split" keyboards made by Microsoft (among others). The keys are arranged in a wave pattern, so that your shorter fingers (index and pinkie) don't have to reach as far to press keys. As a result, you don't have to move your wrists as much, and typing is more comfortable. I feel like my typing has improved since I started using this keyboard. The only downside is that because this keyboard isn't "split," you still have to bend your wrists slightly to use it. As a result, I suspect you don't receive as much benefit as you would from a fully ergonomic keyboard. On the plus side, the learning curve isn't as high; you can start using this keyboard right away with little practice. The other features (padded wrist rest, customizable buttons) are an added bonus. If you're looking for a high-quality keyboard with some ergonomic benefits, the Logitech Wave is a good bet.

A High Quality Keyboard
5 Star Review

Strengths: Wave shape makes touch-typing easier; less of a learning curve compared to other "ergonomic" keyboards. Keys feel solid; construction is high quality. Plenty of customizable buttons.

Weakness: Not fully "ergonomic," if that's what you're looking for.

If you're interested in a more ergonomic keyboard, but you can't get used to "split" keyboards, the Logitech Wave is a good compromise. Because the buttons are arranged in a "wave" pattern, your shorter fingers (index and pinkie) don't have to reach as far to press keys, which in turn means you don't have to move your wrists as much when you're typing. The effect is subtle - I've only used this keyboard for a couple of days, and I can feel the difference. The only downside is you still have to bend your wrists slightly to type, unlike split keyboards where the keys are angled. As a result, I suspect this keyboard doesn't provide as much ergonomic benefit (but I could be wrong). On the plus side, there is very little learning curve compared to a split keyboard; typing on this keyboard is more or less the same as on a regular one. In fact, I think the wave shape has helped to improve my touch-typing. The keypresses are solid, and the other features (padded wrist rest, customizable buttons) are an added bonus. If you're looking for a high-quality keyboard with some ergonomic features, the Logitech Wave is a good choice.

Great keyboard + great price = Great buy!
5 Star Review   By member pmey7 - Nov 6, 2007

Strengths: 5 YEAR warranty, Plastic DUST COVER! Great key action, 3 Different height adjustments (0 degrees, 4 degrees and 8 degrees), Programmable F-keys! Price!

Weakness: Space bar is slightly larger then I am used too but not really a weakness.

I've always been a Logitech fan and this keyboard does not disappoint. With an awesome wrist wrest and a nice gentle curve it is a very comfortable keyboard to use. It also has great key action which is very important if not one of THE most important factors in a keyboard I think. There are also a lot of features and buttons that you can program and that are just plain really cool! This thing has a POWER key! I've never seen that on a keyboard before. With a plastic dust cover to use at night (I HATE a dirty/nasty/sticky keyboard... and dust + oil = dirt) and a 5 YEAR warranty... theres not much going against this in my opinion. While it is not a true split keyboard it is very nice. I used a split keyboard before this and I was able to go back to a "normal" one easily with this keyboard. I would recommended this if you are looking for a really nice keyboard that is comfortable and stylish!
