Roomy quiet upgrade for your laptop
5 Star Review   By member zhuchok - Jul 17, 2008

Strengths: * Size * Low noise level * Speed

After an 80GB Toshiba hard disk in my laptop crashed, I purchased a 320GB Seagate. That too was dead out of the box. I gave this drive a try and I love its performance. It is very quiet noticeably faster than my old laptop drive and is four times roomier. I am very happy with my purchase!

Scorpio 320GB Hard Drive (Serial ATA-300, 5,400 RPM, 8MB)
4 Star Review   By member jtamashiro - Jul 5, 2008

Strengths: Quiet. Largest capacity for notebook harddrive. As fast as 7200 rpm drive

I looked all over the internet for reviews and found a couple that published benchmarks. This is as fast as a 7200 notebook harddrive. In fact this is as fast as a 3.5" 7200 rpm 8MB cache harddrive. Swapped it into my Thinkpad and everything works beautifully.

320Gb Playstation 3!!
5 Star Review   By member jessestond - Jun 11, 2008

Strengths: Small, quiet, energy efficient, HUGE HUGE storage capacity. Reasonable price

I snapped this bad boy directly into my PS3 the same day that I bought it and now instead of a 40GB I have a 320GB Playstation 3! An extra bonus is that I've transferred all of my DVD's into MP4 files which are now on the playstation. Awesome. Thinking of buying a second for my Dell Inspiron.

Perfect PS3 upgrade
5 Star Review   By member thefallenfew - Feb 26, 2008

Strengths: - The biggest 2.5" HDD on the market today. - Great price.

Weakness: - None that I can see.

I bought an original 60g PS3 used from GameStop (still the best version) for the duel purposes of watching BD/DVDs and storing all my music. I own a PSP and have used that as my primary MP3 player for a year now and dug the connectivity between the two devices. So, naturally, I wanted the biggest HDD I could find WITHOUT resorting to an external. Enter the Scorpio 320G. Installation was a snap, the drive is fast, quieter than the original PS3 drive, and absolutely perfect. No problems whatsoever. Can't go wrong with this one!

You cannot trust this drive
1 Star Review

Strengths: none - all outweighed by the blue screen of death

Weakness: Upon rebooting - something goes very wrong

Bought as a replacement for the internal drive on my Dell laptop. Formatted (3 partitions: 25k for windoh, 140k, and 140k for data). Installed windoh, everything went fine, but after a few hours upon boot-up, I got the blue screen of death. After that the drive only showed a capacity of 73.1gb. Tried windohs format and Partition Magic, both show 73.1gb. I returned the drive for a replacement, and the SAME THING happened on the new drive, except it took longer for it to happen. I believe there is something wrong with the design/manufacture of these drives (probably just too new to the market). I have not tried formatting it as one single partition in an external case - perhaps it would work in that situation.
