Had problems at frist and fix it...

Strengths: Price and depenable

Weakness: none

Had problems at frist and fix it with a new board. it was a bad mother board. The Guy that says it is a bad chip is doing somteing wrong. If buy a vary vary slite chace he recived a bad chip they should exchange it. But it is normally the main board or bios or the programing it not done right. I'm sure that AMD CPUs is best...

Strengths: Price, Speed.

Weakness: No

I'm sure that AMD CPUs is best CPUs I've used, although it's too hot, but if you have a good heatsink, it is not a matter ! In some process, I tested, Intel CPUs is better than AMD, ex: when you are playing your music such a mp3, and you copy some files. With Intel CPUs, the sound is not "stop by stop" but with AMD, sometimes it stop for copying process, in this case, you need more RAM, this...

I won this chip and a Gigabyte...

Strengths: Works like a champ with recommended components, overclocks to 1.7 GHz. without reseting multiplier or voltages.

Weakness: 266 side bus and locked multiplier hamper overclocking. 2500 up chips now have 333 side bus. Use only if your board supports no more than 266 side bus, 1800xp, and/or on budget.

I won this chip and a Gigabyte GA-7DX rev. 4 motherboard from AMD so the price was fantastic. I paired it with Crucial 256mb. Reg. ECC. PC 2100 and a Visiontek Geforce 3 Ti 200 AGP video card, a Hauppauge DTV, a USR 5610B V92 modem(a mistake), and two Maxtor 80gb.hard drives in an Antec SX1030B running Windows XP PRO. Later I found a larger power supply was needed for the Visiontek card and an...
