If you trust any old cable for your precious video, your results may not always be the best. With these cables you can trust that you are getting solid connection and reliable data flow.

Great cable
5 Star Review   By member amitabh_s - Jul 27, 2005

Strengths: Fast connection when compared with usb 1.0

It a simple tool; it does its job well. Make sure that you get the right connection; this one works fine for connecting a maxtor 1 touch (6 pin) to an i.link capable (4 pin) Toshiba laptop.

5 Star Review   By member anakmalaya - Jun 28, 2005

Strengths: High quality, durable, extremely fast, yet comes at a very competetive price! Great deal!

Weakness: None so far.

I use this cable to connect an external hard drive to my Gateway laptop and in works great! The file transfer rate is very fast. I use firewire cable because it is much faster than using conventional USB 1.1 and some reviews on the net claim that firewire is even faster than USB 2.0! One great thing I love about firewire is that Windows/Mac OS will automatically detect the hardware that you connect to your computer, without having to install any driver, which unfortunately would be the case if you use USB connection. I would recommend this cable to anyone!

4 Star Review   By member charlietritran - Jun 15, 2005

Strengths: It function as it is supposed to be

Weakness: not seeing so far.

It works as it suposed to be. The first time I use it to connect the Sony TVR - 460 with my PC (P4 2.8 GHZ, 2.0 G of MEM, MObe ASUS P4P800 Deluxe) and it does not work because the camcorder can not be recognized by the PC via the port IEEE 1394. So I look for infor about it on the web and found that the driver of the port IEEE need to be updated or reinstall. Now, it is fine and I can see the movie very clear as vewing it on my Camcorder LCD screen. The cable is in box with new condition. It looks a little bit different comparing to the one (the same manufacturer) I bought in Circuit City with price of $34.99. Anyway, it is cheap and function as I requested Thank you, Charlie

4 Star Review   By member karylfstein - May 15, 2005

Strengths: Strong, molded connectors, Flexible cable

Weakness: Large plug covering on the 4 pin side

I did not have any trouble connecting this cable to my computer and digital video camera. The connectors appear to be sturdy and attached well to the cord. The cord is flexible and you can see the braided shielding around the data wires. The only thing I would like is a smaller plug covering on the 4 pin side. If you have a tight fit around the actual plug, then you may have problems. I didn't have any issues connecting it to my mini-DV camera, although it looks a little bulky compared to the small camera.

Strengths: Works Great! Very Fast.

It was actually a "Belkin" cable in a "Gateway" package, in case you wanted to know, but I guess they could change that. I had a problem at first with the connection dropping out on my Asus P4CDuluxe motherboard, but then I started messing around, and I realized that it works after changing my CPU speed back to factory defaults (I had it overclocked, when I was seeing the problem). Now it works great. Highly Recommend.

Strengths: Works great, looks great, incredibly low price

Weakness: No box or other packaging material- not eligible for $5.00 Pricegrabber review rebate

There is no reason to pay any more for this cable! This one works perfect, looks great (silver wire inside clear cable) and has a price many times lower than you'll find at any store or from an OEM seller. Save your money! Buy this cable!

Strengths: Product performs as described.

This is the quality cable I was looking for at an unbelievable price. I was shopping at a major electronics store and almost purchased this same cable (different brand) for $24.99. Performs perfectly for transferring video from a mini-DV camcorder to PC (IEEE 1394 port).

4 Star Review   By member tmkkdehr - Jan 2, 2005

Strengths: Functions just as I suspected. I have had no problems using the cable. Delivery was good and timely.

Weakness: It is a beefy cable that takes up space when coiled up for storage.

It would be nice if a shorter cable was designed. Since I need to have my camcorder close when I am creating DVD's, the 6 foot cable is longer than required and the extra length gets in the way.

Strengths: Attractive design, good price

Good solid 1394 cable, with an attractive clear plastic shield. Connectors are solid and the cable provides good transmission for my Mini-DV camera. Does as described for a fireware cable.

Strengths: Working well with my firewire laptop card

Weakness: Could not find

Overall working fine. The length (6ft) of cable is very suitable for making a connection to any products. The surface of cable was coated with the endurable materials. The transfer speed to my laptop seems to fine and satisfiable.

Strengths: 4 pin to 4 pin works with Cannon ZR65 camcorder and Compaq 1010US laptop. I am satisfied with the product. A 4 pin to USB cable may be a better option. May buy again, if there is a need.

Weakness: Laptop should have a firewire or a 4 pin slot.

Laptop should have a firewire or a 4 pin slot. As mentioned earlier, a 4 pin to USB cable may be a better option, if such cable is available in the market, as USB is very common in laptops.

Strengths: average perfomance

Weakness: a bit too long, coil gets in the way, and the shorter version is more expensive!

The product was as described. I bought it to link up my external hard drive to my sony viao v505bx laptop, due to the smaller 4 pin port on the sony. The product keeps up with my large 5mb picture files just fine. I am a big fan of belkin external products, they are always a good option for the home user.

Strengths: Works as promised, great price

It's not rocket science, it's a firewire cable, but it does the job as promised. That and it looks good (braided outer sheild, semi-transparent plastic moulding around connectors).
