no support, flat in the arch, no arch. I stood only for few minutes and foot started to ache. I have a pretty standard size 6, and have been happy with NB in the distant past, they were my main shoe, but I've yet to find one that works for me these past few years.

poorly made hurts feet
1 Star Review   By shortcake on NewBalance.com - Mar 8, 2013

i can wear a pair of shoes everyday to work in for about year if they are made good and fit right. at least that was the case with the first few pair of n/b shoes. i found this one and the shoe kills my feet. i have a wide foot and the shoe says its a wide but i don't believe it. my feet are killing me not only across the bottom of my feet but the sides of my feet and now my heels feel like someone has stuck nails in them by time i get off work. its not like i am rough with my shoes i work at a hospital and do a lot of fast pace walking. the insides came apart quickly and now a hole that looks like it was cut with a knife has appeared on the right shoe. i am thinking about changing brands of shoes when i buy new ones.

Nice Shoe
5 Star Review   By Lou Ann on NewBalance.com - Jan 21, 2013

I see there are some very negative reviews on this shoe, but my experience has been very different from those reviewers. I have a pair of 608v2s which I have been wearing every day from morning until sometimes late at night for six months. I have to wear orthopedic inserts in all my shoes, and perhaps this has made a difference, but I find these shoes to be perfectly comfortable and they are holding up well to heavy usage (including several workouts per week on the elliptical). I also have a new pair of the 608v3 which I have not worn much yet (I like to always have an everyday pair and a "good" pair) but they are also quite comfortable.

Poor Quality
1 Star Review   By mandabear on NewBalance.com - Jan 8, 2013

I have been wearing New Balance shoes for a very long time 10 years +. In fact all my family members with feet problems wears New Balance. This pair is 5 months old and only wore for working purposes and the sole is already coming off. I would not recommend this shoe.

Not enough cushioning
2 Star Review   By cappie on NewBalance.com - Jan 7, 2013

I bought this because it said "walking" shoe. I do a lot of walking in one of my jobs and due to the way I walk, I need more cushioning around my heel. I bought this pair on New Years Eve and wore them for the first time on New Years Day. By the time I got home, I could not walk properly due to the pain. Even after putting in some insoles, there was still a lot of pain. I would not recommend this particular model.

Very dissatisfied with my new 608's
1 Star Review   By Robin on NewBalance.com - Dec 3, 2012

I have been buying at least one pair of New Balance every year for the last 10 years. I work all day long on my feet. I have always been satisfied with these shoes. I bought a pair Saturday and today is Monday and my feet and my back are hurting from wearing these shoes. They are too soft, they feel like they are too wide for my feet and I lost my balance today and almost fell. Because of the way they have been changed, I cannot tie my laces as tightly as I need them to be for the support around my ankles that I am so used to. Now I do not know what to do because the 608's are the only shoe I have been able to wear with any comfort. Please change them back to the old style.

608 V3 Poor Quality
1 Star Review   By richardcd on NewBalance.com - Nov 19, 2012

New Balance 608V1 was poor quality as the lace eyelets pulled out near the top (the leather or fake leather tore). I had that happen on more than one pair. V2 was a big improvement, however, the sole on the last pair came completely off. They were replaced free of charge with V3. I have had 2 pairs of V3. On the first pair, the finish rapidly came off on the toe of one shoe (not from abrasion), and a hole appeared (a tear) in the leather on the right side of one shoe. On the second pair, one of the cloth loops that holds the laces pulled out. I quit.
