Cute & comfy
I love these pants so much that I ordered a pair in every color! I want to make sure I have them to wear for next year also. They're comfortable and I can wear them with anything. I absolutely love them! Good job Lands End!

Cute pants, weird fit
The length of these pants is perfect - I'm 5'4" and it's hard to find pants that aren't too long. I can wear these pants uncuffed or cuffed and they look cute both ways. However, the waist is huge and the thigh area is tight. I'm not a huge fan of the drawstring waist because it loosens up as you move around.

This is the 2nd pair of these I have. Nice light weight and they wash well.

Cute, comfy, versatile
As another reviewer wrote I too was a bit skeptical about these pants. I love them. They are not "old lady pants" despite the draw string. They have a button and zipper so you could probably even cut the drawstring off if you wanted. I dont think they are baggie or tight. I am average size, 5'8 140/145 so not sure where those comments come from. True to size I bought an 8. They were a little loose at the end of the day but i find that in most pants these days. Thats when the drawstring was handy to pull them in a bit. I plan on wearing them this Fall and rolling them for the Spring. I bought the tan and plan on getting the raisin color too. A nice alternative to khakis/jeans. probably wear them anywhere but work. So cute!

These pants fit me perfectly.
I love drawstring pants as I have no waist to speak of. The colors are also rich and soft. Lands End had such great sales over the past month I was able to buy all the colors. But if you have a small waist, these pants will be bulky as there is no elastic in the waistband.
By Wooly1 on Lands' End - Oct 19, 2013
cute, comfortable, & fits my curves
I like the fit of the market pant as I'm normally difficult to fit with a smaller waist and curvy hips. Yes, the waist is lower---that's good for me--- its a more modern Fit 1 rise. I'm 5'7" --- the length was perfect at 32" and they didn't shrink in the wash (warm wash, dry on low). These are not a loose fit on me and the only place where they fit tight is mid-thigh, which is odd---but they do loosen up after wearing. Fabric is a mid-weigh cotton canvas and soft to the touch. Since all bodies are different shapes, its hard to fit everyone perfectly, but these are near perfect for me.

Great, relaxed look and feel
I was really convinced that these pants wouldn't look good but I just had to try them, as I am trying really hard to diversify my look. I bought the blue in a size 2 Petite for my 5'3" 110lb frame. These pants look terrific. I would have liked them to be a bit tighter and may stick them in the dryer to see if I can achieve that. But they are very well-designed; they're not just pants with a drawstring which make you look like a sack of potatoes tied in the middle (which is my usual experience). They fit well. I noticed a few reviews where people complained that the pants were low on the hips. Well, I haven't found that. In fact, I would have preferred them to be a bit lower. They sit less than 1 inch below my belly button. I suggest trying them; see if they work for you! The blue is a great colour.

Cute casual pants
I read quite a few reviews before i ordered these pants, and was concerned about the reviews that stated the legs run narrow. I can't believe how BIG these pants run! I am 5'3" and 110 lbs. and I ordered the 2P in french walnut. These pants are very baggy, but really cute rolled up and worn with converse all-stars. Well worth purchasing if you want a loose, comfortable caual pant.

Market pants are the perfect casual, everyday pants.
The size 10 petites I ordered fit perfectly. Bought 2 pairs, one charcoal & one walnut because I couldn't decide between the two colors and I love them both! The quality is excellent and I wear them everywhere.

Love the Fabric
I hoped the market pant was made from a fabric I bought from another brand in the past and it is very similar. It is durable, lighter weight than it looks, and very comfortable in humid weather - a great alternative to linen. I love the gray, which is hard to find. I like the looser style in the heat, but the cut could be improved a little as they can look a little sloppy. I have washed and dried them several times with minimal shrinkage so I am ready to hem them to make them neater. I do appreciate the adjustable waist, but do not like the bulk of knot and tails hanging when the belt is tied. I will also find a clasp at the fabric store and cut the belt down, or maybe replace it with elastic and a clasp. That said, I prefer customizing the belt to having a built in elastic waist. These pants are definitely worth working with. I enjoy wearing them.

I love these pants!!!
These pants are great. The fabric is a medium to light weight which makes them right for several seasons. The cut is very flattering. They are casual looking with the rolled hems. The colors that were added from summer to the fall make them stretch into the cooler weather. I bought two colors but may order the others!

I wish I'd had these pants earlier in the summer. They are very comfortable and wash well. I'll be taking them travelling.

My favorite pants!
I've been looking for a pair of pants like this for a long time. I wasn't too keen on the tie, but it actually is cute and isn't bulky. Based on other reviews saying they were tight in the legs, and since I'm 5'8", I ordered a size up (8) because I wanted these to be comfortable. Maybe different body types fit in these differently, because I could have gone for the smaller size and would have been fine. They are baggy, but I don't mind. I plan on ordering a 2nd pair and will get the smaller size (6).
By rebalene on Lands' End - Sep 30, 2013
I have seven pairs of these pants that I have bought in the past few years. They are my "go to" for all occasions. Some have been taken in/shortened or replaced with smaller sizes (hallejuah)! Love the colors, the comfort, the fit. All of it!!!!

Great, comfortable and lightweight.
Good fit, great everyday pants.

Runs Small, Short Waisted but Nice Fabric and Cute Style
Love the Celestial Blue color. Has a vibrancy that's more fun than traditional navy. I typically wear a size 6 and although these fit in the waist and the derriere, I found that the the lower waistline was too short & uncomfortable. It "cut" in an area that bothered me. I have thin thighs and even these pants were too slim. Plus I was afraid they would shrink upon washing. I'm going to try an 8 because I like the casual styling and want a change from jeans. I like the weight of the fabric and find the drawstring cute. I re-ordered these in an 8 in all 3 colors figuring that while they are available, if I like them, I'd better grab them. I'm not sure about rolling these up. I'm 5'8" and the inseam is listed as 32" but I didn't have enough fabric to roll them up like ankle pants. Personal preference I guess.

Proportions are off for me.
These pants would have been a good buy on sale, but were not cut for me. I bought a 10, and the fit was perfect in the legs, the seat, the length, and the length from waist to crotch, but they are cut for someone with a more boyish figure...I'm just too curvy. With the dropped waist, they hit at the widest part of my hip, so while the waistband would close, there was just no extra room at all... too snug to take a chance on. The construction and fabric were very nice, and the color was great. I do not think I would have paid full price fpr these, however.

REALLLLLLLY COMFY TO WEAR
THEY COME OUT OF THE DRYER WITH A FEW WRINKLES [OR MAYBE IT'S JUST MY OLD-FASHIONED LOGIC THAT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE PRESSED OFF?] ... THEY WEAR NICELY AND DON'T SEEM TO WRINKLE WHILE WEARING. AND THEY REALLLLLY ARE COMFY!
By GRANNY006 on Lands' End - Sep 14, 2013
These have become a staple in my wardrobe. The lightweight fabric is great for our many months of warm weather. The forgiving waistline is just what I need, too. Comfortable and look great!
By FLsunshine on Lands' End - Sep 5, 2013
The fit is excellent
I wanted stylish but comfortable pants for the cooler days of summer and found these. I liked the fit and slimming effect so much that I just bought my second pair to get me through early fall.
By hlizzyanne on Lands' End - Aug 31, 2013
If you have really thin legs, these will work for you. I think they should be fuller in the leg. If you have any sort of thigh, they'll be skin tight. I really wanted these to work, but they were way too slim cut.
By CarrieElizabeth on Lands' End - Aug 26, 2013
I love these pants!
I am in my 50s now and finding pants that fit and are comfortable too has been a challenge. I bought the french walnut on a whim. I thought they were rather expensive but I was very frustrated and ready to try just about anything, no matter the cost. When they came, I tried them on and they were wonderful!! The length was perfect (I am 4'11") and the size 2 fit perfectly. I can sit down and the waist doesn't bag out in the back and my tummy doesn't overflow in the front. I went online to get more and they were out ! So now that they're back I want to order one in every color!! Even if they're not on sale. :) Oh, I also have the shorts in navy blue and they're good too, but the pants seem to fit a little better.
By sjrowe on Lands' End - Aug 12, 2013
LOVE these pants
they fit perfectly!!! the fabric is great too!!! I am very disappointed that there are no more left!!!! I should have ordered them the minute I saw them and I didn't.....i would love one is every color, they are perfect for weekends!
By JennLynch on Lands' End - Aug 4, 2013
Very odd shape
If I were built straight up and down and wanted low-riding and tapered pants, these might be it. But they are unfortunately extremely short in the rise, sit low on the hips, are snug in the thighs, and all the space is in the waist. Not too taken with the fabric either. They are going back. Definitely not up to Land's End reputation for quality or for true-to-size.
By Sissy20 on Lands' End - Jul 17, 2013
Very comfy, casual pants!
I like these pants very much, although when I received them I was a little disappointed that the color wasn't as rich and saturated as it had looked online (I bought the blue). Was also a little disappointed that the waist was so huge, SO glad there was a drawstring to do what the elastic wouldn't be able to. They are VERY comfy, though, and the side pockets are of a good size (I will temporarily put my keys in there, but try to put as little as possible in them so I don't look like a pack mule). The fabric is VERY soft, love it! I roll the hems up twice, and wear them with canvas sneakers.
By emmysprink on Lands' End - Jun 24, 2013
Got this one right!
I love these pants (and the Market Shorts). So much apparel is full of spandex these days that it's refreshing to find lightweight 100% cotton fabric. In addition to the wonderful material, the fit of the Market Pants and Market Shorts is perfect. It's no wonder they sell out so quickly. I would love to have them in an all cotton lightweight denim as an alternative to heavy jeans that contain spandex - too hot for Florida summers. Please keep these in your fall line up.

Just What I Wanted!
I wanted a pair of pants with the look of casual linen but without the wrinkles, and these are perfect! They are fitted enough in the hips and rear-end to not feel like I am wearing pajamas. I actually like the rolled up hem look, but also like the option of unrolling to have regular length. They are cute and just trendy enough for me without looking like I must have borrowed pants from someone generations younger than I am.
By Wendella on Lands' End - Jun 4, 2013
Fit great until I washed and dryed them...
I really liked these pants when I first got them, especially the length, I'm 5"7". However after 2 washings in cold water and very little drying they lost about 1.5" in length and are too tight around the waist. They seem to have lost their shape also. I was all set to order these pants in different colors, glad I waited.

I normally wear the sport knit, but like the material for the market pants
I love the sport knit pants. I have only worn the market pants once but I think I may like them for the summer.
By geryaya on Lands' End - Jun 3, 2013
Who can wear these?
I don't understand Lands End pants. Who are the fit models? These were so tight in the thigh and rear end and too big in my waist. That is trend that I find in their pants. Not only that these are not straight leg but they taper. I am only thankful that I never end up paying for shipping and can return items to my local Sears store.

The Perfect Comfort Pant
These are a very generous size 4 on my 5 foot 4 inches, 120 lb. frame but are so comfortable, I can handle a little extra fabric and it works with the style. They wash well,no ironing required. They are great travel pants, great hiking pants, great knock-about my small town pants. Work well with the slouchy striped tee I bought on sale at the same time.
By Oldteacher on Lands' End - May 29, 2013
Great summer pants!!!
Bought brown and navy blue in-store and I am very pleased with the purchase. I usually wear size 6-8 pants and I got a size 6 and it fit perfectly. I fabric is substantial but soft(no VPL), the fit is loose but not too baggy. I wore the blue with the same tank top and similar sandals (I am not creative, LOL!) to a barbeque party and I felt really comfortable, pretty, and stylish.
By simplechick on Lands' End - May 29, 2013
not for me
Didn't care for the fabric. I thought it looked cheap. Also the stitching and the pockets looked frumpy.
By Pammi on Lands' End - May 28, 2013
Nice casual pant
Nice pant, loose fitting but very light. Like that they do not wrinkle.
By oilers on Lands' End - May 28, 2013
Great looking pair of pants
I got a pair of these and quickly ordered them in another color. They are a perfect pair of casual summer pants. I am 5'5" 1/2, 115 pounds, 29" inseam and the regular size 2 fits well.
By calandviv on Lands' End - May 25, 2013
The pants fit and feel great.
I wear these pants to work on dress down Friday. These pants are very comfortable.
By AWilson on Lands' End - May 23, 2013
Not what I expected!
I ordered two pair of these pants and really liked them, so ordered a third pair in white. I was disappointed, however, when the pants I received were top-sticked in beige, making them look sort of off-white, and dingey. I wanted and was expecting a pair of bright white pants. I will keep them, however(probably because it's costly and a pain to return things from Canada.) But look out, these are not what you might be expecting.

Not flattering on this body
I bought the walnut color in a size 4 and the fit was fine and quality is just great. I was sad to have to return them! They were not flattering on me at all. Here's what I think my problem is:. the too-small (in my opinion) patch pockets in the back with the straight leg combined to make my bum look large. I think these pants would work best on a taller person or someone who is straighter. I am 5'2" and a size 2-4 but definitely have curves. I'm happy they've worked for so many people but sadly, they didn't work for me.
By smileMore on Lands' End - May 14, 2013
Very comfortable and flattering pants for summer
I love these pants. They fit true to size, are light weight but good quality, and very comfortable. They pair well with dressier sweaters and tops, and also rolled up casually with t-shirts. I also order the shorts.
By RRMom on Lands' End - May 14, 2013
Nice material but weird fit
I really liked these pants -- great, lightweight material in nice colors. However, the fit is odd -- tight in the calves and way too much material around the stomach/crotch area. Sadly, I had to send them back.
By krisrh on Lands' End - May 13, 2013
Nice - little wider leg would be perfect
Fabric is very comfortable; would be great if available it a khaki. I like a bit of a wider leg, not much, about a 20" opening. Good casual look and feel.
By Avra on Lands' End - May 13, 2013
Please restock plus size
Love the fit! Love the fabric! I want a pair in all colors!
By Nursekp4 on Lands' End - May 13, 2013
These pants fit true to size, the quality is excellent and they are very flattering. I love the fabric (I'm partial to natural fabrics) and the color is a rich, dark grey. I wear them rolled up a few times above my ankles with some light grey gladiator sandals and a black t-shirt...a casual yet pulled together look. I'm 5' 5" and around 145 lbs. and wear size 12...love the fit. They fit a bit below my waist but nothing too low. I love them and may get this item in another color...so comfortable.

This sure are no pants for me, my daughter or my granddaughter, we all are size 2 petite. Those pants sit way too low.
By Omama on Lands' End - May 12, 2013
The pants are good quality and true to size. You can wear with or without a rolled cuff, but I prefer the rolled cuff. Looks nice with some flats or sneakers. I loved them so much, I bought the other color and I bought the shorts, too.
By Heidinf on Lands' End - May 11, 2013
So so disappointed in these pants. I have a few pairs of cargo light weight Lands End from awhile ago. I am always looking for similar new one's. There are NOT it. They are simply an overpriced scrub pant and I am not in any medical field. Looks like hospital pants. Very disappointed.
By Jami626 on Lands' End - May 11, 2013
Perfect fit, great colours, quality fabric. I'm very happy with these pants.
I bought two pairs of these pants, the white and the iron grey. Love the colours, the fit, and the fabric. I chose to hem the grey ones making them less casual than the roll ups, but left the white as is and am enjoying wearing both.
By dlmae on Lands' End - May 11, 2013
These pants are perfect for the summer! I love them
I went back to order another pair and found them not available! This must be a popular item! Anyway I will order more on back order! I have received a lot of compliments on these pants! They are really comfortable, and they do not shrink!

Perfect summer pants
Perfect summer pant - would like to see in off white and black. Fits very well, modern look.
By Colombe on Lands' End - May 11, 2013
Great for summer!
These are the first Lands' End pants I've ordered online without previously trying them out at a store first. I know some clothes here tend to fit large. I normally hover between two sizes, so I chose the smaller of the two. Despite my hesitations in ordering these pants sight unseen, I was pleasantly surprised when they fit perfectly! I'm about 5'4" and I chose to get the Regular rather than the Petite size, which was a good choice. I just rolled the cuffs a few times more than the pre-hemmed length. The style can go from casual (with just a t-shirt) to something a bit more dressy with the right accessories. I purchased the navy blue, and I plan on ordering another color soon!

The Pants I've Been Waiting For!!
I'd been hoping Lands End would offer pants made of this terrific soft all-cotton fabric - they are PERFECT for warm weather, and they couldn't be more comfortable. They do hit slightly below the waist, but for me that works well. I got my usual size 6 petite, which fit perfectly. They are my casual go-to pants for every day. Some time ago Lands End offered cargo pants in the same material, with the same comfortable fit, and I've worn mine so often they're practically worn out, so the Market Pants arrived at the right time - or so I thought. Once I received my pair and tried them on, I immediately went online to order more, only to discover they were back-ordered until August!!! Despite the long delay I ordered two pairs in each color, because I know once they arrive I will wear them for a number of seasons. Only Lands End seems to make 100% cotton pants, and in the hot weather that's all I want to wear.

I love the fit and comfort. I like the coverage but the fabric still keeps me cool. I have the wrought iron and the white, so I can wear them all the time!

Comfy & Cute
Ordered the French walnut and Love the fit and fabric. Wasn't sure about the waistband - but I am glad I ordered! I can dress them up by unrolling them and pairing with strappy shoes and a "work" shirt or dress down by rolling them up and pairing with a tank and flip-flops. I LOVE multifunctioning pieces
By solson on Lands' End - May 1, 2013
Right now I'm wearing 18W in wrought iron. They're light and comfortable....and it's 90 degrees here. Hoping you're going to restock because I'd like them in brown and white too.

Best summer pants ever!
I was anxious to write a review of these pants because I liked them so much. I bought three pairs and would have purchased more if the colors were available. These pants have everything I want in a summer pant. They have no stretch in the fabric; they are cool, comfortable cotton. They fit perfectly; not too tight and not too loose. I like the waistband that "gives" a little and has a drawstring and zipper closure. They have unbulky pockets at the sides and perfectly flat patch pockets on the rear. Perfect! I hope Landsend makes these EXACTLY the same next year and adds some pastel or bright colors. I simply love these pants. Thanks Landsend for making my summer more comfortable and cool. Please make more of these market pants in lots of colors. They are the best!
By Fleecanista on Lands' End - Apr 28, 2013
These are a keeper
I bought these in women's plus 18w and I like them very much. I think they are generously sized. I bought the "wrought iron" color. I would have bought the blue and brown as well if they were more of a sun washed or faded color. My only complaint is they are too long for me. I wish these had been offered in plus petite. I will be getting these hemmed. they are worth it.
By Loganwoods on Lands' End - Apr 28, 2013
Comfortable but big
I'm 5'0 and weigh ~120 lbs. I ordered a petite xs in these pants. The fabric feels really nice against the skin. The drawstring, in my opinion, doesn't allow for a lot of cinching. The petite is long, even after drying these pants on medium. These pants are baggy, comfortable, but definitely big. If I went with a smaller size, they'd be too small around my waist...so I kept them because they were so soft and they were on sale (had they not been on sale, I would have sent them back), but I need to take them up about an inch. Also, be aware that these are a slimmer fit - NOT a straight leg.
By bekki on Lands' End - Apr 27, 2013
could be excellent, will know after washing
These pants are very comfortable, and nice and lightweight. I hate wearing cotton/spandex blends in the summer- it is so hot and uncomfortable to me. The fabic in these pant will be perfect. One thing that is not apparent in LE's photos is that the white pants have contrasting (bronze) stitching. I didn't like it at first, but I do now. Another thing I thought was confusing in LE description is the inseam/length. It says prehemmed to 29.5 inches. That's too short for me, but I took the chance and ordered them. They are actually around 32 inches and just rolled up to 29 inches. So you can roll them to what ever length you like. One thing I don't like is that after washing in cold water (I am air drying - don't want them to shrink too much), the thread appears to have shrunk because there is some puckering on the leg seams. I was able to pull that out, so hopefully it will stay that way. Overall I am happy with this purchase and plan to buy more, after they dry and I know if I should adjust the size or not.
By meLoveToBake on Lands' End - Apr 27, 2013
I am 5'4" with a 26 inch waist (natural waist) and 30 inch hips (low hip near saddle bag area!). I bought a 2 petite in gray and tan and they've just arrived on my door step. These are so flattering while providing me with a cute and fun alternative to my normal dull jeans life as a single mom. The rise is about 6 inches (a couple of inches below the navel but not that dreadful show all style that appears walking down the street everywhere... in other words, modest enough for those of us that have had children with a little pouch but not quite ready for grandma style up to your ear lobes). They don't have a lot of "give" to them, though another reviewer mentioned they stretch out (which, to me, would be fine because the shape will allow that while still maintaining a fun, flattering shape considering the drawstring waist and tapered legs... might even make my fanny look a little perkier!). The weight of the material is on the lighter side, yet not paper thin (good for spring or coastal weather) and the colors are true. These will be great with flip flops, flats and sneakers! I'm going back for the blue and might try the Market Shorts, as well!. As always, Lands End does it again! Thank you!

Nice casual pants
These are nice casual pants for Spring, Summer and Fall. Fabric is nice, although I haven't washed them yet, and the fit is perfect for me. I know I will get a lot of wear out of them.
By SandiW37 on Lands' End - Apr 19, 2013
I just received these in the mail and I am so glad I made this purchase. These pants are lightweight, classy casual, and will be a great go-to if jeans are too heavy. Some cute sneakers or flat sandals will look so nice with the hem rolled up. I am 5'6", 120 lbs., and my usual size 2 regular worked. The waist is elastic along with a zip and cute button, so nothing felt too tight. They definitely sit just below the waist, and even a little lower on me as I am long waisted. I ordered the Wrought Iron, and the color is a cross between dark pewter and dark olive. I can't stress enough how much I like these. I will most likely go back and order the white. All I need is a cute marketplace and a warm spring day and I am ready to stroll.

Versatile cute pants
I am wearing these pants right now, and they are sooo comfortable. Fit 1 works well for me, as I like pants to hit below my waist. I am 5'8", 140, and the 8 is perfect. I like the light weight cotton canvas. Would like a bit of stretch, but the fabric is lightweight enough that it's ok without. I have three of the four colors and will be wearing these a lot this spring and summer.
By Maryallene on Lands' End - Apr 18, 2013
Great summer pants
I'm 5'1", 150 lbs and bought the white in size 12. I bought the regular because they were out of petite and I'm glad I did as the rise is a bit low. They sit just at my waist, which is perfect. They are true to size otherwise. I love the light weight of the soft cotton. Perfect for Summer wear. The cotton stretches slightly, just enough to make them comfortable, but a bit of lycra to make them stretch a bit more would be nice. These will be great during the Spring and hot Summer months. I thought I wouldn't like the length as I normally take a 28", but they are so cute rolled up that I won't get them altered. They are just the right length rolled up that I can wear them with shoes, flats or sandals. Wish they also came as capri and or cropped pants. Will buy another pair and get them altered to a capri length. I also wish they came in more summer colours. Great job Landsend. I love these pants. Just what I was looking for. Will buy in another colour definitely.

These are exactly what I was looking for. The fabric is lightweight, the fit is true to size, the style is cute and they are comfortable. They wash beautifully. I washed in cold water and hung to dry...not a wrinkle. I got them in white and grey (forget what the name of the grey shade was) but it is a nice color. Very happy with this purchase.

Very low rise - sits way below waist
These pants seemed perfect for summer and the description "Functional drawstring adjusts the fit at the waist" led me to believe that they were a Fit 2 or 3. But they sit several inches below the waist. I was very disappointed and returned them.

These pants stretch out to much right away..they look sloppy and just do not look good on..I was surprised, I usually love Lands End pants but these are just not well made..they run way to big!

These pants fit true to size, I always order a 10 petite, and these were no exception. I like the pant legs rolled up but they will also work unrolled. Nice summer weight. Very glad I purchased them.
