This is generally unnecessary for non-pro use on a d300. It adds a lot of weight, makes the camera awkward to hold, and tends to get in the way, especially when shooting macro. I took it off of the camera after 3 months of use.

Works Great

Use this grip on the D700. Nice to have back up battery on board, and the vertical shooting capability is invaluable.

Must have accessory
5 Star Review   By Chimphappyhour on Adorama - Mar 31, 2009

This grip is wideley suggested as a must have accessory for the D300 and D700 and for very good reason! I makes a solid addition to either camera and gives the shooter so much convenience. You have full secondary controls and secondary power. The construc

Nice addition
4 Star Review   By Jeff on Adorama - Mar 30, 2009

I love this battery pack! It makes the camera feel much more natural, fits my hand much better, and I know that I won't be running out of batteries in any average day of shooting. It looks like it belongs on the camera, and alleviates the odd head tilt fo

A very solid Grip
4 Star Review   By Vinnie on Adorama - Mar 30, 2009

I use the MB-D10 on a D300. My main reason for getting the Nikon grip over a generic version is the build quality. With the D300 or D700's weather sealing, why compromise with a questionable product? Only downside to the grip is the very sensitive shutte

Does exactly what it promises. Agree with other reviews that release bottom is a bit fast. But you get used to it.

No brainer for the D-300 & D700!
5 Star Review   By Thor on Adorama - Feb 7, 2009

Definitely need to purchase this. Upgrade to the EN-el4 batteries. You'll be glad you did. May cost a little more but if your purchasing the D700 it will be well worth it.

A Must Have
5 Star Review   By Yoseph De Jakob on Adorama - Feb 7, 2009

Because I have to juggle school and work in with my photography I don't always have time to sit around want wait for a battery to recharge, that's why I love this. Even if you plan on just using it with an EN-EL3e this is fantastic. And as well as the ext

Product was as expected
5 Star Review   By Bill on Adorama - Feb 6, 2009

An excellent addition when you need a vertical grip, longer battery life, and a faster continuous shutter speed on your Nikon D300 or D700. The build is solid, the fit is perfect, and it performs as advertised. I highly recommend it if you need it.

Excellent Product
5 Star Review   By MINI Racer on Adorama - Jan 22, 2009

I had the grip on my D100 and my D200, loved them both. This grip is the best one of all. Higher quality, better fit and more features. I would highly recommend it as it adds balance and versatility to an already excellent camera, the Nikon D300.

Useful, durable, metal construction grip
4 Star Review   By Li on Adorama - Jan 14, 2009

The grip is very durable and when mounted on to D700, very secure with no move-around. The main body is constructed of metal material, the plastic parts are thick and seems durable, the af-focus control is definitely a plus and not seen in any previous gr

This is a necessity. Fits perfectly and balances the D300. The vertical shutter release keeps your arms by your body to help steady the camera.

Better than D-80 battery pack
5 Star Review   By aldewitt on Adorama - Jul 23, 2008

There are a lot of things to love about this piece of equipment, and one minor annoyance. The shutter button is very fast on this device. The multi-selector feels a great deal different than the one on the camera, but still functions well. What I like bes

The BEST Thing Ever for D300
5 Star Review   By member weaponxp - Jun 13, 2008

Strengths: The battery Grip is freaking awsome! Makes portrait picutres easy to take. Only three things are needed, Nikon BL-3, EN-EL4a Battery, and MH-21 charger to get the full protential of the D300 at 8 fps

Weakness: The Grip adds more weight of 4 pounds with only EN-EL3 D300 with 18-200mm kit. Also it cost extra $500 to get full 8 fps, but o-well. You gain some but lose some.

None, I love my Camera with Battery Grip. Only items are left to complete my greatest Camera are Nikon BL-3, EN-EL4a Battery, and MH-21 or 22 charger, and SB-800 Flash. After that, I only need to wait for new Nikkor Lense like my dream AF-S Zoom-Nikkor ED 18-400mm IF DX VR or better, heh. Once anyone purchase this grip for their D300, they will love it very much and ending up wanting to spend more money on their Camera, LOL. ^_^ : P
