For low angle shooting this is the perfect solution. Expensive for what it is but Canon products generally perform as advertised.

Makes Macro photos so much easier
5 Star Review   By Rwolf on Adorama - Jun 4, 2013    ( See more reviews from Adorama )

Getting too old for those ground flower macro pictures? Than this could be your best investment. Easy to use and the results are great. Takes a little practice but worth the effort.

This was exactly what I needed. Allows the photographer to get shots at angles that would normally not be possible. I use this for macro shots of plants low to the ground. The integrated magnifier is handy to obtain a better manual focus when needed. The

5 Star Review   By nightwolf7288 on Adorama - Apr 20, 2012    ( See more reviews from Adorama )

This is a must have for any one that does macro photography so you don't hurt your neck. Also if you have a short tripod it works great.

The viewfinder functioned as designed, but it did not work for my application. I photograph dogs which are constantly. Very difficult to follow motion in the viewfinder.

This angle finder is made better than the cheaper models. also I tried two other finders, and neither would attach to the 7D. It's worth the difference in price.

Poor engineering
1 Star Review   By DRoot Photo on Adorama - Sep 4, 2011    ( See more reviews from Adorama )

I love the idea of this, but Canon needs to reengineer this so that it will actually stay on the eyepiece mount. After a few uses, the metal clips that hold it in place bend out of position, and I have to use tape to keep it on the camera. Also, the swive

I have been taking photos for more years than I care to remember - LOL! - and originally used a Canon Angle Finder, the "B" I think, on a T90. I then used the same Finder on my first DSLR, an XSi, so when I bought a 7D earlier this year it was a no-braine

Pricy but Top Quality
5 Star Review   By Art on Adorama - Jul 10, 2008    ( See more reviews from Adorama )

It pays to purchase accessories made by the camera manufacturer: It fits, it works, and (as in this case) it works on older models and other cameras. No more on my belly in a swamp for that low aqngle macro shot.

When shooting Macro one requires an angle finder that will maintain it's barrel position once set so that your hands are free to make other adjustments to your camera settings etc. [...]I returned my Canon A F C, while still under warranty, and got it bac

A good angle finder to buy
4 Star Review

Strengths: 1. Gives you different aspects 2. Fits all canon cameras with two adapters it comes with. 3. mag. max from 1.25 to 2.5X.

Weakness: 1. Too tight on the adapter 2. Lower price will be perfect

This angle finder may seem expensive (comparing to 3rd party ones), however, once you get a hold of it, you will appreciate its quality build and its smooth rotations. The angle finder is essential when taking outdoor low angle shots. Sometime it is used in indoor as well when you have those tide spots where you can't possible bend over and see. For example, against the wall. This finder can be used in night shots with tripods and they work perfectly. When you are shooting lower angle night shots, say, fireworks, (with remote release of course), this handy finder will save your neck by a bunch.

This is one of those things that, once you buy it, you think "why didn't I get this sooner?" It's very helpful for the low shots, but you can also twist the angle finder around through 360 degrees...so even if the camera is slightly higher than you, you c

Canon Angle Finder C
4 Star Review   By member linjy - Feb 26, 2007

Strengths: Nicely built, versatile, and works on my Nikon D70

Weakness: Pricey and eyepiece adapter a little loose

The Canon Angle Finder C is a well-built angle finder with good magnification. When I noticed that I am getting old and unable to focus those macro-shoots as usual, I know that I have to get a finder with some magnification. I decided on this Canon finder instead of the Nikon because of its versatility and magnification ranges. Maybe this is not that important to others but I like the ideal of be able to use it on Canon and Nikon cameras. The extra 0.5X of magnification may not seem much, but it is for my old eyes. There is nothing hard about using this device, and when attached to my camera, the view is clear and sharp. I also noticed that the adapter was a little loose when attached to my camera, but it is not too bad. Overall, this Canon Angle Finder C is a good quality finder, and will be an important part of my macro photography.

Canon Angle Finder C Review

Required for waist-level or prone photography with Canon SLR/DSLR bodies. Magnification 1.25x or 2.5x by flipping lever. 1.25x useful, 2.5x not helpful to me, but that may be a factor of my less than perfect eyesight. Similar aftermarket products availabl

Very expensive to own, but worth every penny
5 Star Review   By member bluejeff - Dec 13, 2006

Strengths: 1. High quality build 2. Nice fit to all cameras

Weakness: 1. Price too high 2. It would be ideal if it can "extend" out for a inch or so.

I have been shopping for an anglefinder for a long time. Of course, I got many suggestions from people to "just go for the cheaper ones because you won't use it as much". Oh, that's just wrong. Many people bought the 3rd party anglefinders, such as Seagull...etc, but the thing is, they are poor quality. From a few examples that I saw, those anglefinders are too fragile and can be broken easily. Plus the magnification rate is only 1.0X, not as Canon's 1.25X. At last, the fitting problem is the biggest one for those 3rd party anglefinders because the use cheaper materials. I have no regret on spending 2X money for an original anglefinder from Canon as it is guaranteed to work. Although the price is much higher than others, it's worth the price and it can be compensated in the long term.

3 Star Review   By member victorxian - Feb 16, 2005

Strengths: viewfinder magnification

Weakness: only 2.5 magnification

I bought it for astrography thinking it would be helpful in focusing in the dark. You know it will be very difficult to tell if it is focused when you shoot a dim object at infinity. I taped the dioptric adjustment but I found it's useless. Because whenever I switch between 1.25 and 2.5 magnification, I should readjust the dioptric to make sure it was in focus. It became extremely awkward to switch among focus ring, dioptric, and 1.25 or 2.5 magnification in the dark.
