Great Camera
5 Star Review   By member tech028 - Jan 25, 2006

Strengths: Small, rechargable battery, zoom (optical & digital), sony, great flash for size

Weakness: expensive battery, Memory Stick Pro Duo($$$)

this is a great camera, i take it skiing, hiking, and where ever you would want a camera. Great size and very durable. only problem is that it is a typical sony product where you can buy it at a great price, but will have to put down the money for a spare battery or a real memory card.

What you'd expect
4 Star Review   By member garkman - Sep 30, 2005

Strengths: Compact, long battery life, carl-zeiss lens, picture quality

Weakness: 3x optical zoom, smallish lcd

This is the 3rd Sony Digicam I've bought and I've never been let-down. One thing you should always get is a cam with a Li-Ion battery. The Sony batteries last a heck of a long time compared to other brands I've tried as well. This cam is a good size and weight, takes clear pictures and has the features you'd expect. Nothing screams "WOW" compared to some of the latest cams, but definitely the smartest Sony cam buy for your money if you're looking for something you won't regret taking along with you.

5 Star Review   By member jhk97 - Aug 19, 2005

Strengths: small, easy to use, light, design

Weakness: small LCD screen.

this is very stylish small camera, and unbelivable pix quality. It's very easy to use and durable. one minor thing is that small screen rather than 2.5'' big screen but it's very clean and accurate.

DSC-L1 Digi Cam
4 Star Review   By member MNuttster - Jul 15, 2005

Strengths: Small size, great lens, rechargable battery

Weakness: no A/V output, LCD smaller than most, 3x zoom

overall this camera has done me no wrong. it was my first venture into the digital camera world and i could not be happier. I started off looking at sony because i already had a pro duo stick for my psp so i figure i would save money having that. it hasnt disappointed me at all. the small size is great for carrying around in a pocket and that it has all the bells and whistles that you would think a camera of a bigger size would have. definately happy with my purchase and would recommend to others as a starter camera.

4 Star Review   By member Gamer007 - May 1, 2005

Strengths: Small and easy to use point and shoot camera, AF Assist, Good Battery Life

Weakness: Expensive memory card, small lcd screen, no optical viewfinder

Had been looking at several other cameras Stylus 300, Stylus Verve, Casio z50 and Sony dsc-s40 (there were others, but these were the only one's stocked by Circuit City and I had gotten a gift card for this store). However, based on overall value and size I picked this camera. I was hoping to wait for the different colored versions to come out in the US (available outside US in black, red, blue) instead of the plain silver, but after reading up still no info. Another negative is the fact that it uses Memory Stick Pro/Duo cards which are expensive and hard to find the larger sizes due to the recent release of the PSP which uses the same memory card.

4 Star Review   By member sonchai - Mar 29, 2005

Strengths: - Small and compact size - Light weight - Wow factor - 4 MP resolution - 3x optical zoom - ISO control available

Weakness: - Use a pricy Memory Stick Duo - No A/V output - LCD currently regarded as small (i.e., 1.5 inch)

This 4MP little, elongate-shaped camera hasn’t disappointed me since day one. The picture quality is beyond what I had expected, thanks to Carl Zeiss optical lens seemingly producing better picture quality than my DSC-T1 with 5MP! The quick response in addition to the compact size makes this camera fit into an “almost-perfect” point-and-shoot type. Comparing with my Canon A85 (4MP), this DSC-L1 arguably gives crispier and sharper pictures. Recently Sony brought the price down by another $50, this was also another factor in my purchase decision. Buy one, and you’d enjoy it!

Strengths: Compact, portable, style is very sleek looking.

Weakness: Memory card is too small. Battery runs down too quickly.

This camera is easy to use and carry. The picture is clear, and enables you to take action shots well. Directions included are very direct and simple to follow. The audio for the video capability was a lot clearer than I expected.

Strengths: easy to operate, didn't take long on how to operate the camera

Weakness: I couldn't find any

I would highly recommend the sony cybershot dsc-p73 camera. I skimmed through the camera booklet and it didn't take me long on how to operate it. I really like the optical zoom on the camera. And researching many of camera's, the consumer report guide stated it rated amongest the top 3 camera's to buy for dependability.

Strengths: Very cute size as my cellphone. Easy portable. It's so cool. I like it so much.

Weakness: Too small memory stick with the camera. Only 16m. The screen is kind of small.

This is a perfect digital camera for me. Small enough with satisfied function. Most small camera always didn't have good qualified pictures. L1 have 4.1 mepg and 3* opt. This is enough for me. Furthermore, it's not so expensive. Under $300 is nice to me. It's a perfect camera if you want a small size.
