Sony Alpha SLT-A77 Review
4 Star Review  Imaging Resource - Apr 24, 2012

With the Alpha SLT-A77, Sony makes a bold step into pro camera territory by combining an extremely high-res 24 megapixel APS-C image sensor, a speedy Bionz image processor, and its phase detect-friendly Translucent Mirror design. The result? A camera that can shoot at up to an astounding twelve full-resolution frames per second, while still adjusting focus between frames. The Sony A77 also boasts a go-anywhere weather-sealed design, and yet still manages to include a versatile tilting LCD monitor, something not offered by its nearest rivals. Add built-in GPS and Full HD, 60 frames-per-second video with full-time phase detect autofocus, and you've got quite a camera on your hands. Whether you're a sports shooter, an enthusiastic videographer, or you've just got hyperactive kids to keep up with the Sony Alpha A77 should prove more than up to the task. All that at a price tag that an enthusiast can justify makes the Sony A77 easy to recommend. Read our review for all the details.

Sony Alpha SLT-A77V (with 16-50mm lens)
4 Star Review  cnet.com - Jan 25, 2012

THE GOOD: A well-designed camera thats enjoyable to shoot, partly thanks to a great viewfinder, the fixed-mirror <b>Sony Alpha SLT-A77V</b> bests the competition with features like a cleverly articulated display, built-in GPS for geotagging, and very good 1080/60p video. THE BAD: There are some annoying omissions in the A77Vs feature set, including odd limitations for raw and video shooting, plus subpar battery life. THE BOTTOM LINE: The Sony Alpha SLT-A77V is an excellent, well-designed camera for deep-pocketed amateurs; it nevertheless has a few limitations that may make it impractical for professionals.

Just what the doctor ordered
4 Star Review   By Harrie on Sony - Official Store - Feb 2, 2014

I purchased the A77 about two years ago when it first came out. I also purchased the telephoto lens for it at the same time. The camera takes fantastic photos, the battery life is excellent. My main problem with the camera is the weight. I have problems holding it for extended periods of time due to weakness in my right arm that I have never been able to regain since surgery. When using the telephoto lens it is impossible for me to hold it steady without using a tripod. I do not have the upper body strength to hold both the camera and telephoto lens. I have tried numerous times without success. When using the tripod I have no problems with the telephoto lens. Using a monopod I occasionally have problems due to the weight. I enjoy shooting nature and wildlife photos.

Upgraded from Sony SLT A57!!!
5 Star Review   By ChefZ on Sony - Official Store - Aug 21, 2013

I love the results that I get from my A57 and was debating whether to get the A65 or A77. I chose the A77 because of it being weather-sealed. I got the camera with the 16-50 kit lens...my favorite lens for everyday use. The performance is what I expected.

Excellent other than a few annoyances
5 Star Review   By Aven on Sony - Official Store - Jul 30, 2013

Unless you are going with a full-frame DSLR like the a99, this is the best I've tried; high quality built, fast focus, amazing 12 fps for action, the video is just astonishingly high quality! the 16-50 kit lens is superb, but after a rainy day, the lens got a bit hard when zooming, not a big deal though... What bugs me is the hot shoe, it's just wrong, they fixed it with the a99 , and you can buy an adaptor, but why did they bother making it,,. :l So go for it. It'll do everything you need.

Great Camera!
5 Star Review   By Hazeymarie on Adorama - Jul 30, 2013

Still new to the camera, so I can't even begin to review all of it's features. Nor can I answer questions about longevity. However, this camera is so much better than any camera I have ever had. I upgraded from the Sony a380. The megapixels make all the difference, especially in low lighting. I actually took a picture of stars in the sky without a tripod. The Sony 16-50mm f/2.8 lens is a must for this camera. It shows the hair on the back of a dragonfly from 3 feet away. Burst mode has returned! I didn't know how much I missed burst mode until I had it again, and on a dslr nonetheless. I have yet to figure out the 3D feature, it seems to do the same thing as the panorama setting, which is nice on its own. The only thing I dislike about switching to the A77 from the A380 is the memory card slots have gone from two separate slots for MSpro and SD (with a switch to move between them on the a380) to one slot that will hold either MSpro OR SD (on the a77).

I was a Canon man all the way, had 4 pro lenses along with the 1DS MII , before that i had the 5D MII and 7D, but after some consideration as i was in need of a Camera with fast focus system , along with Video i thought i would go for the 6D or back to 5D MII , I tried out the Sony A77 and i was a sucker from the time i took it up and played around with it, what i love the most about this camera is the fact its auto focus on Video and tracking focus on fast moving objects, its spot on. I sold all my Canon gear got me some elite Minolta lenses along with the 16-50 lens. Would i recommend this cames to my friends YES and some are looking into the transfer. :) and a bonus with Sony is you can pick up a real good Minolta lens for little money on Ebay. like the gem 135mm 2.8 Af or the 50mm 1.4 AF

I Get Happier and Happier Every Day with it.
5 Star Review   By Ollie on Sony - Official Store - Apr 3, 2013

I was waiting for this a whole year! And now that I was ready to sell my Canon T3i, I've noticed that Sony a65 has a crop factor when shooting video... WHY, SONY, WHY??? Why do you shoot yourself in the foot? :))) Also, I like that my Canon lcd flips sideways which is good for self shooting and it has awesome digital zoom. Ok, if Sony a65 had that, it would be an ULTIMATE camera. It has HDR, manual controls in video, all those fps... Although 24 Mpx is something I don't need. Anyways, GREAT camera but I'm still gonna wait till the improvement on the LCD (side-flip), crop factor elimination and digital zoom. :) Best wishes.

Very Nice Semi-Pro Enthusiast DSLR
4 Star Review   By TopHeadphones99 on Sony - Official Store - Mar 8, 2013

I found the camera to have a good feel to it. By that I mean that it feels solid and well balanced. I love the viewfinder, I was a little unsure that it would look true but it does. I almost went with a Canon but have had a Sony for a long time and took a last minute look before pulling the trigger on buying the Canon. I am very glad I looked.

Very Nice Semi-Pro Enthusiast DSLR
4 Star Review   By TopHeadphones99 on Adorama - Mar 8, 2013

This is my first time ever using a DSLR and I wasn't expecting this one to be that good. Images you get from this camera are excellent. Sharpness and depth of field are excellent. Unfortunately, you lose some light with the translucent mirror because the mirror bounces some of the light upwards and there is not much going to the sensor. I did not find it that big of a deal. Also, the A77 gives reasonable ISO performance up to 6400. At 12800, there is smudging in the details and noticeable noise. At ISO 16000, it's plain silly. The grip is quite beefy and it's very comfortable to hold. It is light but with the well-machined kit lens, it's a bit heavy. It's pretty tough as I do photography out in inclement weather and the details don't get soft at all. Image stabilization is excellent and performs better than a few camcorders I've owned all over the years. The high burst rate is blindingly quick and perfect for sport shooting. You can capture the whole moment instead of waiting for the precise moment and probably miss the shot you want. The screen is nice as well; very sharp, and I like the tilt-swivel mount but you cannot do self portrait shots with a flash or mic mounted on the accessory shoe. It does not feature a standard hotshoe!! That's my main gripe with this camera because almost nothing will fit on that. Also there is a slight lag when switching from live view screen to the EVF. The firmware update does not eliminate most of the lag but reduced enough to not be irritating. There is also a lag when turning the rear dial on the grip to change the aperture. Again, the lag is reduced enough to prevent it from being irritating. I will say that in terms of image stabilization and focus peaking, nobody does it as good as Sony does. Going back to video again, shooting in low light is a colossal pain with other cameras. The A77 does very well in this aspect. If you really push it, it will show you noise and grain but it's low light video recording ability was remarkable. The autofocus was behaving perfectly as well. I like the full time phase detect autofocus. It's very quick and very accurate and won't do that contrast detect focus hunting thing of going back and forth before it decides where it should lock onto. If I work hard, I could get the autofocus to misbehave a bit, but in most situations, it was very reliable. Verdict on the A77: the image and video performance is excellent. Also, this camera is profoundly exuberant to use, which is a very hard mix to get with a serious high performance camera. The battery life was also reasonable as well but I would still get a second battery. Highly recommend this; it's a serious bit of kit.

Full Function Digital Cam. The Sony A77.
5 Star Review   By Nivek on Sony - Official Store - Feb 21, 2013

I love that Sony has made this type of Digital camera. Do I miss a glass view finder? sure, but what they did hear was make a fine useful tool. Traditional no, but Digital is not either, so I say what's the Beef. Get a A77 if you think, that you want the best, true experience to shooting a digital image with little fuss, or be fussy and have all the tweaks at your exposure. If there is ever a manual camera to have it's this one. If you wanted a full automatic Digital Camera then this is it. I say this because you can see the results. I hope they keep improving this part of there design, it works and they lead. I think those with a glass view finder should go back to film, because you are still guessing, so why not keep guessing. Get a Sony SLTA77. It's great!

Auto focus is a joke
1 Star Review   By Piniewoods on Sony - Official Store - Oct 19, 2012

The auto focus is a joke. 9 out of 10 times, when taking an action shot, the auto focus either can not lock on, or takes a shot that is out of focus. Have tried all of the settings, different techniques, everything to get results. Will save my money and buy a Cannon.

5 Star Review   By tastrong61 on Sony - Official Store - Aug 31, 2012

I've used this camera to shoot everything from low light performances from ballet to rock bands to landscape and wild life. Color capture is amazing. 24mp sensor yields crisp detailed images. And, the lens line up, including the Minolta 'Legacy" lenses are sharp and crisp. I compared with the Nikon D300 and Canon 7D. Color wise the a77 was the most accurate. I couldn't be happier with my investment. Live music files too large to post.

Innovative Camera
5 Star Review   By retratocarioca on Sony - Official Store - Aug 15, 2012

This camera represents boldness and innovation from Sony. I was surprised at all that it offers and the ease of handling. All buttons are well located. Some things have left me puzzled as the system of focus, color quality and OLED display. The latter, Sony breakthrough. Both the body and the lens are tough and rugged and durable. The focus of the lens is very quiet and fast. The burst of 12 fps is great for sports, but should have a larger buffer to support it. Still, anything that reduces the concept of an excellent camera. I use it for various purposes such as: Food, portraits, press photos and landscapes and have achieved excellent results. I'm very happy with this camera and it has been great interest in the environment where I work.

Best Camera I have ever used!
5 Star Review   By tvjbullseye23 on Sony - Official Store - Jul 26, 2012

For many years I have owned numerous Minolta and Sony cameras (with an interim affair with Canon) but this camera is feature laden and well worth the investment. I was going to purchase the body only but the rep showed me the features of the 16-50 and although somewhat redundant to other lenses owned, it is great glass!

This is my first leap into the hobby of photography. I'm so glad I chose the a77. It is yet to disappoint me. I took it to the local skate park for it's first real test...the pictures speak for themselves. I cannot wait to find out what else this camera is capable of!

Just what the doctor ordered
5 Star Review   By MickyDeeNYC on Sony - Official Store - Jun 30, 2012

I always thought I would finally buy a full-frame Nikon, but you know what? That's too heavy and expensive for my use. I'm an avid photographer, digital toy junkie, etc. Having always liked "Nikon's" sensors (made by SONY), when this camera came along, I knew it was the ticket! It's fast, extremely capable, produces such nice jpg images that I often don't record RAW anymore. And it has some WONDERFUL tricks up its sleeves. I love it to death! Now that the firmware is becoming more solid, it's even better. My biggest peeve is the location of the movie record button. With my very large hands, trying to adjust the diopter or press other nearby buttons, I keep accidentally firing the thing into movie record. I WISH I COULD RE-MAP THAT BUTTON. (In case anybody's listening.) I did purchase 2 extra SONY-brand batteries. If you like long, full days of shooting, get yourself at least one spare battery. The new SONY 18-250 lens is the perfect complement for this camera. If I had a wad of extra cash, I'd be tempted to buy another A77 as backup!

5 Star Review   By BNBarbedwire on Sony - Official Store - May 4, 2012

After having owned the Alpha 100, 700, 900 and now the Alpha 77, I think my experience with Sony Cameras has been a steady transformation. I started just wanting to capture the Action shots that everyone else misses. Sony allows me to document that moment in time that no one really see's with the naked eye. Unbelievable speed and resolution make for great Enlargements. To be sure, this is a very handy piece of equipment for the Professional Photographer.

Excellent Camera
5 Star Review   By brunner on Sony - Official Store - May 3, 2012

Amazing camera - a great replacement for my a850
5 Star Review   By NicholsonPhoto on Sony - Official Store - Apr 11, 2012

I am not a pro or a professional .. Am pretty much a semi pro.. My previous slr was also a Sony A230.. N when I was thinkin about upgrading it with some canon r Nikon I've heard abt Sony announcing a77 and a65 and I thought I would wait a little longer and now it's worth it.. I am so confused in deciding between a77 and a65 and had a few sleep less nights.. My only concern was price.. I finally decided to go for an a77 coz of its better lens and focus points. The minute I took my first snap I've realized that I made a right choice . The view finder is amazing.. The pictures were fabulous and the video is sharp. Reviews said that it's high iso was not good but trust me we don't have to use that high iso anyways n I tried it on 6400 and I could not find any noise in the picture. The kit lens is awesome.. My opinion is that one should have this lens.. I also took pictures with 75-300 Sony lens that I already own n pictures were great. But they are even better with the kit lens. The pic I posted was with 75-300 with full zoom and the first one with 16-50 kit lens. For all of you trying to decide between a65 and a77 or even other brands.. Well go for this one... It's worth spending a few xtra bucks.. The only con I found was it was a little heavier compared to my a230 but it won't take time to get used to it.. Also minor specifications like tilt screen, dual control switches and joy stick controller cm handy when you are using the view finder and tryin to adjust the Iso r color balance.. On the whole it's a great DSLT ....For more pics Check out my Facebook at www.facebook.com/srima....

I wrote a lengthy review on the problems that I have encountered with 3 different a77 cameras and for some reason it is not showing up. Kind of weird that sony would sensor its reviews or are they all fabricated to fit what sony wants you to see. Definately a buggy camera with no where near the pictures it should be for 24mp.

As a Semi-Pro Photographer, I Knew That I Had To Get a New Camera Which I Was So Desperate Of For Years and I Knew That It Was Gonna Be a Sony DSLR. I Once Owned The Alpha DSLR a-350 and Lost It, But When I Came Upon This A-77, I Had No Doubt But To Get This Camera As Soon As Possible and I Could Tell You That It Has Been The Best Decision I've Ever Made. With 24.3 Megapixels and 12 Shutter Speed Per Second, Where Else In The World Do You Get That? I'm Still in Awe Of How Clear and Smooth and Detailed My Photos Came Out and I Love It. If You Really Are Serious About Changing Your Photography World, Then This is The One For You. There's No Need To Even Double Think Or Anything, Just Get It; Well If Only You Can Afford It.

Sony alpha 77 SLR
5 Star Review   By Salman on Sony - Official Store - Feb 23, 2012

I am an advanced amateur and have used Nikon, Canon and Minolta systems. My current system is all Canon EOS based (5D Mark II etc) which I love. I had some legacy Minolta glass and had always been a fan of Minolta design, my last one was a greatly loved Minolta 7. I was intrigued by the Sony 77s innovative features (built-in HDR capability, built-in ability to decrease noise with multiple exposures, high speed motor drive, built-in image stabilization, ability to take effortless panoramas etc.). The clincher was however the beautiful control layout (reminiscent of the Minolta 7 and 9 bodies) that is very customizable, the best screen articulation around and the first decent electronic viewfinder. The viewfinder is actually excellent and with the ability to customize the display and also set it to actually show the "effect" your settings will have (exposure, color balance etc.) before you shoot is awesome. The available artificial horizon, which includes the fore and aft tilt as well is great. Image quality is very good, though well short of the Canon 5D II. Things that could be better: Support for Mac OS, which is a major disappointment for me. I cannot even download the videos to the computer, had I known that I may not have bought it. The RAW converter is compatible but only so so. It has very limited customization, specially for renaming files, and is not very intuitive. While the controls on the body and display are excellent, the top LCD is missing the exposure compensation display. Overall I love the camera but it is let down by poor software.

WORST Flash System ever
1 Star Review   By DisapointedA77flash on Sony - Official Store - Feb 22, 2012

I was fortunate enough to pre-order the camera and have owned it for a week now. The a77 may not compete with the Canon 5D in some areas but I believe the a77 is a better camera overall! I've uploaded a photo taken in low light and reduced it's size to meet the 5MB upload cap. This camera continues to impress me every day.

Why state something thats not true, Waste our time Now we must wait 7 to 90 days for funds to be returned to CARD account. Have to spend other monies earmarked for other things within our family budget. Who cares right Not the customer service person who led me on about the backorder status for 15 minutes until I had to just cancel everything. Why would you ship me 3 lenses, Battery, battery extender, memory card, etc. AND NO CAMERA. I LAUGH NOW!!! I own a canon 30d, a canon ti2, and this sony A77. The a77 is the best.... great scene selections, I specially love the smile recognition and the face recognition features that my canon cameras do not offer. The LCD screen and the OLED viewfinder are flawless- Alot of technology in this camera. The 16-50mm lens focuses very fast and is also very quiet. I have also bought the sony external flash F58AM and It's wireless feature works seamlessly with the a77 camera. The vertical grip is a must accessory I have also purchased and well worthed.

I started with the A100, moved up to A700, then the A900, then the A580. I am familiar with Sony products. The A77 is the best yet. Very fast focus, 12 fps, and although I had some reservations going to the EVF, the were unfounded. It is like a point and shoot on steroids. It just flat out takes good smile making photos and anyone can pick it up and use it. Stop doing this Sony. I don't need anymore cameras.

5 Star Review   By Maveric19 on Sony - Official Store - Jan 26, 2012

I am a amature-semi pro photographer. I love taking photos of anything and everything. This camera lets me capture what i really see. It is easy to use, the colors come out amazing, the features are awesome, and the lcd and oled screen and view finders are amazing. The one thing that I would like to see in this camera is a full frame sensor. But otherwise I think that this camera gives the Canon and Nikon big dogs a run for their money because the technology in this camera far exceeds (in my eyes) the competition. I have always been a fan of sony and i have owned two other sony cameras- bigger point and shoot versions and was disappointed when i saw they only had the a55. I was really wanting something that could compete with the Canon 7D or the Nikon 7000. I absolutely love the A77 and can't wait for the oppertunity to take pics of people and beautiful pics of sunsets. I would recommend this camera to anyone.

This was a Christmas present from me to me. I want to make photography my hobby, and yes, I know this was a sophisticated camera to start for a beginner. But SONY makes it simple, while producing incredible pictures. I love it, but I am looking for a camera body case to protect it while I'm carrying it, one that will also allow me to take pictures without detaching it from the camera. Since the production of the A77 appears to have resumed, I hope SONY will make a camera case/housing available soon. If anyone knows of anywhere I can purchase one that will fit the A77, please chime in.

Awesome Camera well worth the bucks
5 Star Review   By Nursefish on Sony - Official Store - Dec 29, 2011

I've been using my Canon HF20 as my main camera for the last two years, though that does seem like an unorthodox approach to Photography in general. I got my "HF20" on Black Friday 2009 mainly for video purposes. But as I used it I slowly was discovering my love for Photography. In May of 2011 I decided to start putting money away for a serious DSLR camera. Looking back I can remember thinking I'd end up with a Canon 5D or 7D, because I really do love Canon. But enough about Canon.. I remembered looking at Sony cameras earlier in 2011 as well and remembered the "a55" and abandoned any thoughts of ever buying a Canon 7D or anything like that. When I read up on the a77 back in late August 2011, my heart was set on it. I've had this camera now for about five days and took so many amazing photos in so little time. It certainly is as they describe it.

What a machine!
5 Star Review   By Eternalsonyfreak on Sony - Official Store - Dec 7, 2011

After a bit less than a month, I still have a lot to learn about the camera's functions. Overall I'm very pleased, but I'm disappointed that photos with the built-in flash are frequently overexposed. I now keep the flash compensation turned down by a stop or more, which provides a more natural look anyway, for those times when available light just isn't enough. Also, I can't seem to adjust the diopter setting without touching the very sensitive video record button. Finally, I had hoped that my Minolta remote control and Sigma flash would be compatible, but that was not to be. In spite of my complaints, I'm very pleased overall.

Good Camera, Buggy Lens
4 Star Review   By hsand on Sony - Official Store - Nov 19, 2011

I really like this camera. It feels great and takes awesome pictures. When you start getting into the higher ISOs the images can become a bit noisy. Sony has compensated for this by implementing a noise reduction option for JPEG's but if you shoot RAW you will need to do noise reduction in post processing. The lens that came with my camera had problems closing to the appropriate aperture. I have talked to several A77 owners and this seems to be common problem. Turnaround time for the repair center can be up to 10 days not including the time it takes to ship it out to them. So you can be without your lens for almost 3 weeks if you encounter an issue. I also had to pay to ship it out to them. I was not offered a prepaid label that other companies have become accustomed to providing.

Sony i love you -for real!!
5 Star Review   By BUJU on Sony - Official Store - Nov 15, 2011

I have been into DSLR for over the past 7 years, and have only owned Nikon. I had a quite a set of lenses that I had bought over the years. I had heard about the Sony line up and started Looking into them. I was seriously looking at the Nikon D800 but the frame rate and size of the files I did not like, and the features that the Sony has was far better than the D800. I seriously did my homework for 2 weeks on the A77 and read and reread reviews and video on the A77. I did not want to have to sell all my Nikon stuff. Finally I decided to do it, I ordered my A77 and put up all my Nikon gear for sale. I have had the camera for 1 month, I am a serious photographer who looks at the detail on each picture and I am here to say that this camera has it all. The pictures that I have taken have been breathtaking. I took it on our summer vacation and I must say I have never had so much fun taking pictures. The video is outstanding with focus being spot on. I am very fussy about my equipment I use and want it to perform well. This Sony camera absolutely performs in all conditions. The lens it came with is fantastic. I also bought the g series 70-200 and if you want to see breathtaking pictures purchase that lens. I bought all the same lenses I had for my Nikon cameras and I am happy with everything. Make no mistake that Sony is putting great technology into their cameras and I absolutely love this camera. The features that are cool are, 12 fps, HDR painting which combines 3 pictures into one. Panoramas and 3D panoramas, face recognition, smile shutter, rich contrast Black and White, 1080p video. I like them all. The noise to me is a none issue above 3200, I have always tried to never shoot above 1600 anyways. This camera beats out the Nikon d7000 and d300s and the Canon 7d for features and picture clarity. I had been waiting to here about what Nikon was going to come out with this fall and even what they were pretty sure about with the features they may have it still did not match what this A77 has. I love this camera, I think Sony is a game changer. Thank you Sony!

Best DSLT Camera ever
5 Star Review   By Jenkenis on Sony - Official Store - Nov 12, 2011

I'm so disappointed with the flash system of this camera, to write a correct review. The only thing I want to say is; If you are a serious photographer, and your field is wedding, or any events involving the use of flashes (not studio flash), please stay away from this camera. I own an a700 and a900, so I know what I'm talking about and I can tell you this camera has a SERIOUS FLASH ISSUE, and it's not new. You can just Google "a77 flash overexposure" or "a77 flash inconsistency". I STILL DON'T GET IT, WHY SONY DIDN'T ADDRESS THAT ISSUE YET. This is an inexcusable failure for a professional camera, and for SONY not even acknowledged it and fix it.

Wow....Amazing DSLT ever...
5 Star Review   By Srirockz on Sony - Official Store - Nov 8, 2011

Upgraded from the A-500 to the SLT A77. This is a nice camera. First, it feels good in my hand as it is nicely balanced. Photo quality is good, colors are rich, and shooting is solid. The supplied lens DT 16-50 2.8 SSM must be a guilt favor from Sony because it is plush. It is an extraordinary piece of glass. What I am not thrilled about is Sony not adding basic functions like TETHERING, again. I like to shoot hooked up my non-windows computer though an editing program. Not going to happen. By the way, the supplied software from Sony, PMB, is only Windows compatible, if you care... Some of the functions in the menu are rather gimmicky for photographers that are anything more than a weekend hobbyist, which is a little bit of a turn off. My thought if you are spending 2000.00 on a camera add the functions that the higher end phototogs will use and add the other stuff for fun. Also if you are going to use manual lenses (non electronic) you have to go full manual. Other companies allow you to use shutter and aperture priority. Please do not let this discourage you from the A77 it is a solid camera. It just has flaws like everything else. Please Sony, update the firmware for tethering at a minimum, so this can be a studio camera......thumbs up!

Outstanding DSLT Camera!!!
5 Star Review   By Kevinzilla on Sony - Official Store - Nov 5, 2011

After weeks of waiting for this camera to be available for retail sale on the Sony Style website, I was fortunate enough to purchase one from a retail camera outfit in this area who pre-ordered some awhile back when they first were available for pre-order on the Sony Style website... Let me say one thing, this Sony SLT-A77VQ is one of the greatest camera's, EVER! The quality is absolutely stunning with a very high 24.3 MP Exmor™ APS HD CMOS sensor (23.5 X 15.6mm)... The quality of the images are vivid and very high in detail and contrast... The Translucent Mirror Technology is great, shooting up to 12 images per second in continuous focus... The Magnesium Alloy body is very bulky, but well worth it, protecting the camera from moisture or adverse weather conditions... The included Lithium Ion Battery is very long lasting and can last up to approximately (500) images or more on a full charge... Also, I am very impressed at the 3 way Articulating Screen which can be adjusted so many ways (even toward the user)... I've owned so many things from Sony because I know they stand-by their merchandise and I know i'm getting a high quality item that will last a lifetime... Thank you Sony for so many wonderful years producing high quality merchandise!!! You will always be NUMBER ONE on my list!!!

SLT-A77
5 Star Review   By Andy2354 on Sony - Official Store - Nov 4, 2011

I pre-ordered my A77 and have had it for about 2 weeks. I'm amazed! Easy to use, detailed pictures, and bright, crisp colors. My first Digital camera was an A100, moved up to a A55, and now the proud owner of an A77. My son gets the old ones so he cant wait to see what Sony comes out with next. Almost forgot, the 16-50MM kit lens is a perfect fit for the A77.

Impressive Camera
5 Star Review   By intel334 on Sony - Official Store - Oct 27, 2011

Only had the camera a couple of weeks but ,at low iso, images I took of grandchildren, flowers, blooms, and scenery at a local park with 16-50 lens are very sharp. I love the viewfinder - bright and clear. Camera just feels good when you use it. This is my first Sony slr and I'm very happy with my choice. I already added 2 more sharp primes to take advantage of the sensor's capabilities. Excited to see what happens...

Been waiting for this upgrade for a while now. Each year I keep trying to get ever more out of my A700. Have been looking forward to the A77 for a while now and am eager to try it out when it arrives.
