Description
The Lumix FZ200 Digital Camera from Panasonic is Panasonic's latest digital compact camera to offer an f/2.8 aperture across the full range of its zoom. And given that the full range runs to 600mm (in 35mm format), that's saying something. The lens on the FZ200 is a 24x optical zoom lens that starts at the wide angle end as a 25mm and zooms all the way to 600mm.

DCRP Review: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200
4 Star Review DCResource - Oct 25, 2012

The Lumix DMC-FZ200 has all the bells and whistles that you'd expect on a high-end super zoom, plus an F2.8, 25 - 600 mm lens that no other camera can match. Despite some issues with highlight clipping and redeye, the lack of an eye sensor for the EVF, and the fact that the full manual is in PDF format, the FZ200 has more than enough going for it to earn my recommendation.

4.5 Star Review Imaging Resource - Apr 5, 2013

Marrying a bright lens with superzoom range doesn't come easy. That's why the Panasonic FZ200 got our attention with its Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens that maintains an f/2.8 max aperture throughout its 24x optical zoom range. Teamed with the camera's excellent AF system, the lens proved it can perform well in low-light and high shutter speed situations. Add in a 12 fps, high-res burst mode, Full HD 1080p video recording (at up to 60 fps!), and advanced photographic controls, and we found a lot to like about the upgraded FZ200 digital camera. Check out our Panasonic FZ200 review for details on why it should appeal to casual photographers and enthusiasts alike.

4.5 Star Review photographyblog.com - Oct 11, 2012

The Lumix DMC-FZ200 is Panasonic's premium super-zoom compact camera. Stand-out features of the FZ200 include a 24x zoom lens with a constant aperture of f/2.8 throughout the 25-600mm range, 1080p HD movies, a high-resolution LCD and EVF, fast auto-focusing, 12fps burst shooting and a 12 megapixel MOS image sensor. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200
4 Star Review cnet.com - Dec 6, 2012

THE GOOD: The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 has an excellent f2.8 25-600mm zoom lens; fast shooting performance, even when shooting in raw or raw plus JPEG; and excellent picture and video quality for its class. It has a ton of shooting options, including full manual for stills and movies. It also has a hot shoe and an audio input socket. THE BAD: The FZ200 expensive, especially if all youre after is a long zoom lens. It doesnt have built-in GPS or Wi-Fi, or a proximity sensor for switching from the LCD to EVF. The SD card slot and battery compartment cant be accessed when the camera is on a tripod. THE BOTTOM LINE: If youre searching for a long-zoom camera that falls in between a point-and-shoot and digital SLR experience, look no further than the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200.

Loving this camera
4 Star Review By Leona on Adorama - Nov 12, 2013 ( See more reviews from Adorama )

I downgraded from a Nikon D7000 and before that a Nikon D90 because of medical issues that caused the weight to be an issue. I had to buy it without seeing it first and I was hesitant to do that. I read many reviews which is why I'm writing this one. At first I thought I might return it. The ease of use which I had gotten used to wasn't there. There are some features I really miss and some I'm very happy with. I was used to viewing my shot immed.on the LCD screen. On this camera there are some steps to take in order to view them. However, being able to see in the viewfinder what the picture will actually look like makes up for that. I'm starting to adjust to the different controls. The pics are great so far. Like I said, becoming familiar with it is the biggest obstacle. The minor inconvenience is that when the tripod foot is on, you cannot change either battery or card. All in all, I love this camera.

iA setting makes it easy
4 Star Review By Jfromnewtulsa on Adorama - Jul 9, 2013 ( See more reviews from Adorama )

Good burst and zoom, fair images
4 Star Review By SteveTex on Adorama - May 7, 2013 ( See more reviews from Adorama )

It's bulky compared to any compact camera, so it may not be not your take-everywhere cam. But the fast response -- I prefer 5.5 frames/second -- means you capture subtly different changes in facial expressions and physical actions.
