The Lumix FZ200 Digital Camera from Panasonic is Panasonic's latest digital compact camera to offer an f/2.8 aperture across the full range of its zoom. And given that the full range runs to 600mm (in 35mm format), that's saying something. The lens on the FZ200 is a 24x optical zoom lens that starts at the wide angle end as a 25mm and zooms all the way to 600mm.

Loving this camera
I downgraded from a Nikon D7000 and before that a Nikon D90 because of medical issues that caused the weight to be an issue. I had to buy it without seeing it first and I was hesitant to do that. I downgraded from a Nikon D7000 and before that a Nikon D90 because of medical issues that caused the weight to be an issue. I had to buy it without seeing it first and I was hesitant to do that. I read many reviews which is why I'm writing this one. At first I thought I might return it. The ease of use which I had gotten used to wasn't there. There are some features I really miss and some I'm very happy with. I was used to viewing my shot immed.on the LCD screen. On this camera there are some steps to take in order to view them. However, being able to see in the viewfinder what the picture will actually look like makes up for that. I'm starting to adjust to the different controls. The pics are great so far. Like I said, becoming familiar with it is the biggest obstacle. The minor inconvenience is that when the tripod foot is on, you cannot change either battery or card. All in all, I love this camera.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200
I'm very much an amateur photographer – backyard hobbyist so bear with me on this review if I don't use a lot of technical terms. I previously owned a DSLR which I loved though I found it to be unwieldy to be lugging around a heavy photography backpack

iA setting makes it easy
The iA (intelligent Auto) setting makes it easy to shoot professional looking photos. The 2.8 aperture through the full 24x mega zoom keep the photos crisp on telephoto shots. The burst mode at full 12M quality setting at 5.5fps is impressive to capture a

Light weight, compact body grip. Easy one hand operation. Great 600mm zoom, works really well with low lighting.
