Olympus PEN E-PL2 Review
4.5 Star Review  Imaging Resource - Dec 31, 1969

Equipped with an improved lens and a more ergonomic body style, the Olympus Pen E-PL2 addresses several shortcomings of the previous model and refines the company's low-cost compact system camera design. The Olympus E-PL2's new lens design is smaller, lighter, and a little longer, with a more stable lens design and fast, silent autofocus. It even accepts accessory lenses. The E-PL2's 3-inch LCD is also higher resolution than any of the Pen predecessors, and the new Accessory Port 2 is compatible with more new gadgetry, including a bluetooth module that sends your pictures directly to a camera phone. Its 12-megapixel sensor still captures great images, and the Olympus E-PL2 tests faster than its predecessors. Read our review for more on the Olympus Pen E-PL2 compact system camera!

Olympus PEN E-PL2 12.3 MP Digital Camera
3 Star Review  productwiki.com - Jan 27, 2011

The Olympus PEN E-PL2 is a Micro Four Thirds digital camera designed for users wanting to step up from the E-PL1 without crossing over into DSLR territory. For starters, it inherits its predecessor’s 12.3MP, high-speed Live MOS image sensor. However, it hosts an improved button/dial design that’s friendlier for one-handed shooting; a larger 3” display with double the resolution (460K); and a collapsible M Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II MSC “silent autofocus” lens that is 25% lighter and, more importantly, much faster and quieter. According to Olympus, this means the E-PL2 will perform significantly better than its predecessor. Additional features include 720p video capture, ISO sensitivity up to 6400 for enhanced low-light performance, new creative art filters, and iDetect face/eye functionality. Features Micro Four Thirds Camera 12.3MP Sensor 3” Display Ergonomic Design Silent Autofocus Lens TruePic V Image Processor Dust Reduction System HD Movie w/Manual Controls Art Filter Movie Accessory ... PROS: (1) capable of recording video in 720p high definition (2) mini-HDMI output - for direct playback of images and videos to to a compatible display or HDTV (3) small and compact - a great camera for use on the go when a dSLR would be too bulky and cumbersome (4) " LCD with respectable 460k dot resolution - double that of the one found on the E-PL1 (5) includes a well designed pop-up body flash ... CONS: (1) not a huge upgrade over the E-PL1 from 2009 (2) usable ISO range isnt any better than the E-PL1 (3) no optical viewfinder (4) Micro Four Thirds CMOS sensor - smaller than DSLRs, including similarly priced options, poorer low light performance, overall image quality (5) as expensive as an entry-level dSLR
