Good overall camera if you are...

Strengths: Picture quality is awesome, I have allways loved the Olympus lens and the lens on this camera is great. The Zoom is also very strong, with the 8x optical you dont lose picture quality

Weakness: Battery cost and cant find rechargable ($12each needs two), blurs easily at high zoom (need tripod). However, the biggest problem is how slow it takes pictures.

Good overall camera if you are close to your subject have good lighting and money to burn on batteries. The lens is great. The camera needs a tripod or an extremely stable hand if using the powerfull zoom. The biggest annoyance with the camera is the slow shutter speed if you are taking pictures of moving targets, it reminds me of skeet shooting you have to aim in front of the subject to catch it...

This camera is an excellent camera...

Strengths: The Lens -- its 8X zoom and quality. The manual settings. Great resolution. The AA battery power. Daylight color balance and exposure latitude.

Weakness: Artificial light color balancing is poor. No custom color balancing setting I can find. Built in flash is unpredictable

This camera is an excellent camera for experienced photographers who have digital menu experience. It gives all the flexiblilty one needs at a very low price for all the features it has. I think some of the bad press this camera received was from inexperience people who needed to start with a point and shoot camera but bought this camera. The poor color balancing for artificial lighting is taken...

I am not a camera expert by any...

Strengths: GREAT battery usage, very good pictures taken, great zoom

Weakness: can take awhile to take the picture; blurrs easily

I am not a camera expert by any means and its probably just me that blurrs the picture. But this camera has all kinds of options that you can fiddle with. Also, so long as you dont use the Macro settings, this camera gets GREAT battery usage... it takes 2 $12 or so batterys ($12 at Wal-Mart) and with them you can take hundreds of pictures... even with the flash! I'm not sure about the live screen...

Overall, I am very pleased with...

Strengths: Great picture clarity (at the highest resolution) and color balance / relatively easy to use

Weakness: Ability to print photos using Windows 98 / Some of the options take time to use and become familiar with

Overall, I am very pleased with the Olympus C720. My choices were this camera and the Fuji 3800. I wanted zoom capability and this camera gave it to me. Despite the numerous critiques about this camera, I have been thrilled with its performance. The clarity and color balance of the pictures is great. The C720 takes some time to get used to because some of its features are not obvious to the...

This has been an excellent...

Strengths: Good optics. Excellent value.

Weakness: Only 16MB smart media card. Takes a while to refresh for a second shot...not good for taking consecutive shots of things in motion.

This has been an excellent purchase. I'd like to see them provide a 128MB card with it. The refresh is a little slow, but is great for taking pictures of still objects. I'm really impressed with the camera's ability to focus and take clear shots in spite of being handheld. They get even better with the tripod. I'd definitely buy this camera again for the price.
