Great camera!

I am a part time photographer, who shoots on the side. I do not need a work horse like the D4 or D800. Focus system is very accurate and predictable. Low light performance is incredible. Have not had the issues others have had with shutter and sensor. I would highly recommend this camera.

Dust spots on sensor

Mine came out of the box with dust spots on the sensor. I did not want to take it in for cleaning immediately so I am going to return this and wait for the D610, which is supposed to be available soon and fixes this known manufacturing defect. Search online, you can read all about this problem. I was hoping to get a "fixed" model but, no such luck. The camera itself is awesome. I really like it....

Amazing Nikon D600 DSLR

Near perfect walkabout body. Light weight, easy to learn, customary Nikon intuitive interface.

I shoot landscape, macro, and portraits. I traded in my d7000 for the d600. I love the low noise performance of the d600, and the fact that its the same size as the d 7000. The only thing I don't like is the 39 point focus system right in the center. I would pay Nikon to take it back, and change it.

Watch out for sensor spots!

I purchased a new D600 in July of 2013. I was shocked to find the dreaded sensor spots on my photographs after only two weeks of use. I had read about this issue, but mistakenly assumed Nikon would have handled the problem on recently manufactured units. Now I have to send my two-week-old D600 in for warranty repair. All I can say is BEWARE!
