4 Star Review

Strengths: Small and light! You will take this camera with you. All the features you are going to need.

Weakness: Not really. You get More than you pay for with this camera.

Get super pictures right out of the box with this one. I'm an experienced photographer that was tired of hauling heavy gear around. The 15-55mm is also very good and light. But get the 35mm f 1.8. It will become your favourite lens. Trust me!

4 Star Review   Crutchfield.com

Crutchfield has collected 19 user reviews for this product with an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars. The most recent reviewer said, "My wife had expressed interest in getting a better camera so she could get better pictures of our two young kids. I bought the Nikon D3100 for her birthday. She loved it and in the first weekend we had frame worthy shots before we really even learned how to use it. This camera has a lot of features that we will have to learn to use but as novices, we are already enjoying the quality of the photos."

Truely Amazing
4 Star Review   By member Avneet.Avee - Feb 22, 2012

Strengths: Nikon has Always given the best of the Picture Quality in every Cam, nd this one also includes High Definition Quality. It is Amazing to own this Cam.

Weakness: The only thing lacks in Nikon D3100, is the Zoom. Its does not provides the zoom, we expect to get in such High Featured Cam.

A Really Good Deal. Except the Zoom, it gives more than expected Picture Quality, HD Video Recording, Image Quality, Image Size option, Image Format options, Various Shooting options...!!! Love using this Cam.

4 Star Review   By member abrition - Dec 30, 2011

Strengths: The photo quality produced by this camera is excellent

Weakness: The LCD screen is also not very sensitive to sunlight

If there is one thing I love about this camera (and all Nikon SLRs), it’s the size of its LCD screen (three inches). This is another great selling point for this camera, especially since it has a video recorder. The LCD screen is also not very sensitive to sunlight, so your photographs can be pre-viewed in any light.

Have always wanted to be able to take good pictues, but never had a camera that would do what I wanted until I bought this one. Great camera for the price.

Love it
5 Star Review   By Happyspace on Adorama - Jan 12, 2011

I'm a beginner DSLR user and I chose this one because it was the latest entry level DSLR (out of Nikon or Canon) and from the reviews, appeared to be serious enough to "grow into". It's really fun and fairly easy to use for someone who has only used a com

I just needed a good camera that was easy to use and took a high quality picture that did not cost a lot.

Nikon has another winner. If you are beginner or serious photographer, the d3100 is great for the price.

Upholding the Nikon Image
4 Star Review   By Dad on Adorama - Jan 12, 2011

I had been using canon Products since I bought my first SLR at 18 years old. It was a Canon AE-1 Program, and served me well. I purchased a Nikon D90 2 years ago and was very happy with it. The D3100 was for my daughter's Christmas/graduation and and one

Great Starter DSLR
5 Star Review   By sergioi on Adorama - Nov 22, 2010

I am a beginner with DSLR and the D3100 so far hasn't disappointed me. The Auto mode is very easy to use and similar to a Point-and-Shoot camera. The stock lens 18-55mm are good enough for me, my primary uses are for travelling shooting.

More than an entry level camera.
5 Star Review   By MarkD on Adorama - Nov 7, 2010

The D3100 has the image quality of my D90 and the compact size and weight of my D60. I actually prefer it to my D90 because of its size and weight. I had been considering a micro 4/3 system, but the D3100 is almost as small and light, has better image qua

We returned a D90 and got this one instead. You pretty much get all the same features, but higher megapixels, smaller, and much lighter. The LCD is the only thing we miss, its just not that great a resolution and we often aren't certain, based on what we s

Great for the price

The fact that this is so light makes it a perfect walk around camera with my long lens (18-250) I don't need to use a tripod.
