PowerShot SX260 HS
4 Star Review PCWorld - Jun 4, 2012

The 20X-optical-zoom PowerShot SX260 HS does many things well. Its as close as a compact camera can get to being "one size fits all," thanks to very good image quality and a great mix of options for novices and experienced photographers.

DCRP Review: Canon PowerShot SX260 HS
4 Star Review DCResource - Mar 25, 2012

All things considered, the PowerShot SX260 HS is a solid choice for those looking for a travel zoom camera. It's not particularly fast (especially in the AF department), nor is it loaded with bells and whistles like landmark databases. The bottom line is that the SX260 gets the job done in nearly all situations, and produces photos of higher quality than competitive models. The only people whom I'd hesitate to recommend the camera to are those who do a lot of low light shooting, as the autofocus system seemed to struggle in those situations.

Canon PowerShot SX260 HS Review
4.5 Star Review Imaging Resource - Dec 31, 1969

There's nothing like a pocket travel zoom digital camera when you want to get creative shot on vacation. The PowerShot SX260 HS is Canon's best attempt yet at meeting the needs of both the point-and-shooter and the enthusiast photographer, regardless of the destination. Its 20x zoom has great optical quality, and combined with its 12-megapixel sensor the Canon SX260's image quality is good enough to output a 16 x 20-inch print! What with the built-in GPS, we wish it had a little better battery life, but overall the Canon SX260 is looking pretty good. Read our Canon SX260 HS review for all the details!

Canon PowerShot SX260 HS (Black)
4 Star Review cnet.com - Mar 23, 2012

THE GOOD: The Canon PowerShot SX260 HS has shooting modes for every type of photographer from casual to advanced, a useful long zoom lens with excellent image stabilization, and overall excellent photo and video quality for a compact megazoom. THE BAD: The SX260 HS menus and controls can take some getting used to, its got a short battery life, and photos get noticeably softer looking indoors or in low light. THE BOTTOM LINE: A wider, longer lens, a few much-needed design tweaks, and excellent photo quality add up to one pretty great compact megazoom, the Canon PowerShot SX260 HS.

Very Good Point and Shoot Camera
4 Star Review By Ken A. on Adorama - Aug 20, 2013

I am a wildlife/nature photographer. I got this for my wife to teach her basic photographic skills on. The SX260 HS has good resolution, excellent sharpness, and enough manual control to make it useful for those slightly beyond the beginner stage in photography. There are two negatives that keep it from being 5 star. It really needs a viewfinder for those times when sun glare makes it almost impossible to see the screen. It would also help with the second negative, the fact that it is too slow to focus and snap shots. This is mainly due to Canon's cutting corners by using a cheaper controller chip and their use of only a screen for viewing. Critical shots are sometimes missed when photographing butterflies and other nervous wildlife. So what do we have here? The SX260 HS takes photographs whose sharpness and lack of aberrations make it one of the best point and shoot cameras as far as image quality is concerned. It is a great camera for taking on vacations and for learning photographic basics. It is frustratingly slow in focusing and shooting when time is critical. You will also sometimes be shielding the screen and cursing the lack of a viewfinder. All in all, it is the best point and shoot camera under $300.

All I want from a camera for now
5 Star Review By Young Designer on Adorama - Jul 9, 2013

All the things you would want and expect from a point and shoot, with a few extra surprises as well. The optical zoom allowed clear HD videos of my wife and I parasailing on a 600ft line! Decent low light pictures. Captures details even if the image still
