Canon PowerShot SX130 IS Review
4 Star Review  Imaging Resource - Dec 31, 1969

Finding a no-nonsense, but capable digital camera is not as easy as it should be, but the Canon PowerShot SX130 is one such camera, available at a comparatively low price. Its 12-megapixel sensor is a little larger, allowing for slightly greater light gathering ability, and its 28-336mm equivalent, image-stabilized lens provides the Canon SX130 user ample framing options for most common photographic situations. Exposure options range from full Manual to fully-automatic Easy mode, with a stack of Scene modes in-between. A nice big 3-inch LCD is accompanied by adult-sized controls, and the Canon SX130 offers some heft, helpful when handholding those long shots. The Canon SX130's flash is a little slow to recharge, and it isn't the fastest digital camera shot-to-shot, but we found its feature set and image quality compelling nonetheless. In short, the Canon SX130 IS offers a lot for a little money. Read our review of the Canon PowerShot SX130 IS for all the details.

Canon PowerShot SX130 IS review at Camera Labs
4 Star Review  cameralabs.com - Sep 26, 2010

The Canon PowerShot SX130 IS will not disappoint those who've been holding off from making a buying decision in the hope of a significant upgrade to the SX120 IS. It extends the zoom range from 10 to 12x, adds 2 Megapixels to the resolution, upgrades the video capability with a 720p HD mode and adds some new scene modes. This is a substantially more capable camera than the one it replaces. One thing that hasn't changed much though is the size and in terms of weight the new model is slightly heavier. Its biggest rivals from Panasonic and Sony are certainly smaller and lighter, but does that make them the better choice? Find out in our full review of the Canon PowerShot SX130 IS review at Camera Labs where you'll find a full report on features, performance and image quality.

Canon PowerShot SX130 IS
3.5 Star Review  productwiki.com - Feb 7, 2011

The Canon PowerShot SX130OIS is a compact digital camera with 12.1x optical zoom lens. It is equipped with a 12.1 Mega Pixels CCD sensor, optical image stabiliser, and Canons Digic 4 image processor. The SX130IS might not be the slimmest compact camera on the market but it differentiates itself from other models with its 12x optical zoom which can be used during HD video capture which is rare for compact cameras. Like other consumer level Canon digital camers, the SX130 IS offers several "scene" modes which includes miniature effect for movie and fisheye effect for still photos. It has auto focus and face detection functions as well as a 3.0 TFT colour display. Unlike many cameras the SX130 IS uses AA batteries which contribute to its large size but it also means that replacement batteries can be easily found. Features / Specifications 12.1 Mega picels CCD sensor 12x optical zoom, 4x ... PROS: (1) Clear instructions and explanations accompany all features, on-screen (2) Digic IV processor produces very clear images (3) Manual shooting modes are a plus once you gain experience (4) Overall, features are pretty extensive for this price range (5) Impressive zoom range, zoom works well in video mode ... CONS: (1) Slow shooting (2) uses AA batteries rather than more expensive yet higher capacity lithium ion battery packs (3) no HDMI output (4) no optical viewfinder (5) Runs through batteries quickly

Pros and Cons of Canon PowerShot SX130 IS 12.1 Megapixel Compact Camera - 5 mm-60 mm - Black
5 Star Review  intellireview.com - Aug 3, 2011

PROS:High-definition Digital still camera with HD video recording abilities, Image Stabilizer, 12X Optical Zoom. CONS:Works better with NiMH batteries as it can quickly discharge ordinary power cells. REVIEW:Digital SLR cameras may be a necessity for the professional or the serious hobbyist, but digital point-and-shoot cameras still command a sizeable market share because of casual buyers who are more interested in capturing pictures without having to get too technical or too pricey. A great
