Canon PowerShot SD750 Digital ELPH
3.5 Star Review  Imaging Resource - Jun 20, 2007

Nice to look at and nice to shoot, the Canon PowerShot SD750 is another in a long line of pleasing Digital ELPH cameras. Its 7.1 megapixels offer enough to give you a basic range of enlargements, including 11x14 inch prints. The Canon SD750's 3x zoom is just standard, not stunning, but it's great for most travel shooting and its f/2.8 aperture and ISO 1,600 setting can help in low light. A large 3.0 inch LCD pushes the optical viewfinder off of the SD750, but that LCD is gorgeous. The Canon SD750's capable movie mode and ten scene modes round out a basic take-anywhere digital camera that looks great too. See the full review for more on the Canon PowerShot SD750.

Canon PowerShot SD750 and SD1000 First Impressions Review
5 Star Review  Digitalcamerainfo.com - Dec 31, 1969

In February 2007, Canon announced the PowerShot SD750 and SD1000 digital cameras to replace the older SD630 and SD600 models. Don’t let the numbers fool you: the SD750 is the fancier camera with its 3-inch LCD screen compared to the SD1000’s 2.5-inch LCD. The Digital Elphs both have 7.1 megapixels and Digic III image processors with face detection technology.

Canon PowerShot SD750 | Silver
4 Star Review  productwiki.com - Aug 31, 2011

Canon PowerShot SD750 is a digital camera focused not only on quality image production, but also on a compact durable size with a professional looking finish. Its small ELPH design carries 3X Optical zoom, 4X Digital, with 7.1 Megapixel resolution. No viewfinder is found on this model, however a 3” LCD Monitor gives the user an idea of what they are capturing. The built in flash recycles in 10 seconds and features Red-Eye reduction. Other picture enhancing features include the DIGIC III Image processor, which utilizes Face Detection Technology intended to improve photos involving portraits or groups of people. What allows for the SD750 to remain so compact is the rechargeable Lithium NB-4L battery, separating it from other digital cameras requiring larger AA batteries. 1 Star Review   By member dallen06 - Mar 10, 2008

Strengths: Takes really good pictures, great LCD screen, good compact size.

Weakness: Horrible Lens.

I bought this camera and as soon as I took one picture it gave me a lens error. I tried to restart the camera just like the manual told me to but it would not turn back on. I tried for about 3-4 hours and finally gave up. I checked online at some other reviews and found that this is a common problem with this camera. The problem usually occurred within the first 6 months and Canon will not warranty it. I should have done some more research on the camera before I bought it. I own a Canon Digital Rebel XT and it is great and I have not had any problems so I assumed that this camera's quality would be just as good. I do not recommend this camera.

4 Star Review   Buydig.com

Strengths: great pictures

Weakness: SHIPPING THE PRODUCT!!!

We have an older Cannon Powershot and loved how it performed. This one works just as well. Be careful about the shipping though. Item is shipped direct signature required. You can't even sign the slip and have them leave it the next day. Don't ship it to your house if you are not going to be home. It was a real pain in the rear to even get the product.

5 Star Review   By member yosimitesam7 - Nov 15, 2007

Strengths: Nice sized lcd screen, nice clear picture, sleek camera design and all the camera functions are easy to use.

Weakness: none that I can find

I love this camera. I have searched around at a few models, and decided to buy this one. The pictures come out really clear and all the function are easy to use. Nice small camera that can fit in your pocket or purse without having a camera case (although it would be nice if this camera came with a case to store the camera in).

5 Star Review   By member mighty18 - Oct 27, 2007

Strengths: 3-Inch Smudge Free Screen; Face Detection; Great Low Light Shots; Awesome Moving Pics; Accepts Class-6 SDHC

Weakness: Gimmicky 'Touch Icon' function.

This is my 5th Canon P/S camera and it feels as though things just keep improving over the previous ones. - The screen is big and resist finger prints. Can be viewed under bright daylight with ease. - The low light shots in 'Hi' ISO are extremely good and relatively 'noise' free unless the image is viewed in extreme close-up. - Face detection is so effective that when aimed at the TV screen it detects and tracks movement of the characters. - Works with the newest and fastest Class-6 (150x) SD cards. - The Touch Icon function requires some time to get used to but seems like a convenient feature for navigating the menu. -

4 Star Review   By member s2mann2 - Oct 11, 2007

Strengths: Great 3" screen

Weakness: shutter lag

Camera takes great pics. You can clearly see everything in the 3" screen so it's no big deal that it doesn't have optical stabilization. The menus are pretty straight forward and the case seems to be sturdy. It's plastic but it doesn't feel cheap. I mention the shutter lag because it takes about a second from the time that you press the button to when it takes the picture.

Canon SD 750 - A Great Small Camera
5 Star Review   By member Splinky313 - Oct 10, 2007

Strengths: 3" Crystal Clear Screen, Great Pictures, Easy To Operate

Weakness: Lacks A Battery Meter, just tells you when the battery is very low, doesn't give you the exact battery strength as your shooting pictures

I was looking for a new digital camera with a 3" LCD screen, I am very happy with my purchase. I had owned an older SD200 Canon before and was very happy with it. The quality of the camera is top notch. The buttons are easy to understand, and there are so many great features. I would recommend this camera to beginners, or experienced users. Especially people , who have trouble viewing a smaller LCD Screen. One thing I really like is the wide screen mode, you can take a picture , and view it in widescreen on your widescreen monitor. It gives you a different perspective and clarity I have never seen before in a digital image. Great job Canon!

Canon Powershot SD 750 Digital Camera
5 Star Review   By member danlabianca - Sep 4, 2007

Strengths: Large viewing screen, very lightweight, extremely easy to use, takes outstanding pictures, easy to use zoom, good battery life

Weakness: The case that I purchased separately from Canon is a little bulky. Since the camera is so compact one would expect the case to be as compact.

I bought this digital camera as a retirement gift for my wife. This is her second digital camera. The old camera is a Canon also. Her major complaints concerning the old camera were the lag time between shots and the weight/size of the camera in her purse. My wife hates to read directions so this camera meets all her needs. It can be used after receiving a few verbal directions. The view screen is so large - 3 inches- that she doesn't need her glasses to see the picture subject. SD 750 has a face detection system that makes picture centering easy. The lag time between pictures seems to be nonexistent. This is great when you have three grandchildren who always move just as you are about to take the photo. This camera is very light and easily fits in most purses. I did a tremendous amount of research and I found the perfect camera. My wife loves it!

4 Star Review   By member hypnotika8 - Jul 29, 2007

Strengths: Great color outdoors, sleek design, large LCD screen

Weakness: Tiny buttons, difficult to use advanced options

I took a few pictures indoors with minimal lighting and they did not come out as clear as the outdoor pictures I took in full daylight. The outdoor pictures were very clear and detailed and I am overall fairly impressed. The design is sleek and easy to carry around but the buttons are tiny, which may pose a problem to some. I also own the Sony T-30 and I must say they are pretty up to par with each other but the SD750 has a superior LCD monitor, which is what I like most about it since my eyes aren't so good!

Great, slick camera that takes beautiful pictures!
5 Star Review   By member bobaloba - Jul 28, 2007

Strengths: 3" LCD screen, 3x optical zoom, great PQ, thin, easy to use, lots of scene modes, videos look great

Weakness: no optical viewfinder, no image stabilization, screen gets dirty easily

First thing if you buy this camera: get a screen protector. This camera gets really dirty easily with lots of fingerprints/dust somehow even with a case! It's a beauty though that takes great pictures. Sure it might not have image stabilization, but if the picture is blurry, just take another picture! I wish there was a viewfinder on there so when I'm in the bright light, I don't have to squinch my eyes when looking at the LCD. The 3" screen is amazing and makes looking pictures sorta fun. I love the camera and it works great.

Excellent point & shoot camera
4 Star Review   By member gigantopithecus - Jul 11, 2007

Strengths: Large 3" LCD screen, Digic III processor, screen image flips according to orientation camera is held in, compact design.

Weakness: No optical viewfinder (= smudges), proprietary battery, no battery meter, no image stabilization.

For a regular use point & shoot camera, this is about as good as it gets in terms of picture quality. The 3" LCD is great for folks who are a bit far-sighted. I found the user controls to be intuitive, even if the buttons were a bit difficult to physically manipulate. Its compact design is obviously a bonus; you can easily put it in a pocket; even with a soft carrying case it does not take up much room in a backpack/tote bag/whatever. My only complaints are that it uses a proprietary battery that you'll want to buy extras of. Further, there's no battery meter, so you'll need to keep track of your own usage. Lack of an optical viewfinder means you'll need to keep the LCD screen on almost all the time (reduces battery life) - this would be killer if it were not for the fact that battery life is impressive.

Canon SD750 is the way to go!
4 Star Review   By member nyczmagix - Jun 29, 2007

Strengths: LCD screen size. Good quality pictures.

Weakness: No image stabilization, No icon to show you how low your battery is.

I waited for the latest Canons to arrive and did a ton of research on different models before my trip. You can't go wrong with this treasure. It's compact, big 3" screen, great video capture, lot's of great presets, and a pretty easy to figure out features. I have only two complaints about this camera. No image stabilization, No icon to show you how low your battery is. In a nutshell, I think this is a real great value and a great camera.

Amazing camera!
5 Star Review   By member agd2002 - Jun 18, 2007

Strengths: Picture quality; Small size; 3 inch screen; Stylish design; Fast start up/very litte time until 1st picture and in between pictures

Weakness: No optical stabilization

The SD750 is a great camera. It's not too expensive, and is easily as good, if not better, than some pricier cameras. It's very very small. The 3 inch screen is beautiful...I wouldn't even consider a camera without it. It doesn't have a viewfinder b/c of the big screen, but I would never use it anyway. Menus are easy to use and understand. Some people complain about the IPod like scrolling, but you only need to get used to it, and then it's very easy to use. You can start and take a picture in just under a second, and time in between pictures is very very short. I do wish this camera had optical stablization, but I don't think it's that necessary...shaking isn't really that big of a problem. Do recognize that many other cameras boast stabilization, but only really have digital stabilization, which really does not do much. If you look for stabilization, it needs to be optical to make a real difference! Anyway, I still got this camera, and it still takes wonderful pictures without a need for stab. I'm extremely happy with this choice, and would recommend this camera to anyone. I do wish this camera came in cooler colors, but at least their silver/black scheme is nice looking.

Love it!
5 Star Review   By member imcheap - Jun 18, 2007

Strengths: Small enough to fit in your pocket & takes great pictures.

Weakness: Flash recharge a bit slow

We absolutely LOVE this camera! We have two young kids and wanted something small and lightweight that just fits in your pocket so you can grab it and carry it easily to the local park or on a hike, etc. Takes great photos. The low light performance is not as good as we'd like, but that's comparing to a Nikon SLR. Also, flash recharge is a bit slow, but that's noticable for us with two kids who are always moving. The movie feature is super cool! I love the ability to take either still pictures or movies. Easy to post directly to a website or send to the grandparents. I highly recommend this camera.

Great Camera in a small package
5 Star Review   By member awagh - Jun 15, 2007

Strengths: State of the art DIGIC III processor with Face detection technology and a cool auto flip(rotate) photo when you turn the camera clockwise or counterclockwise (just like the iphone). Crisp images.

Weakness: Does not have an optical viewfinder. Uses a proprietary battery. Virtually impossible to pick up the camera without smudging the LCD

SD750 include a 3.0-inch "PureColor" Multi-level LCD display, 8 picture modes , and 10 scene modes instead. The SD750 has 7-megapixels of resolution, a 3x optical zoom lens, a VGA sized movie mode as well as Canon's new Face Detection AF/AE/FE technology. The SD750 does not have a Real-image optical zoom viewfinder which I think is a drawback (what if the LCD conks out????). The "ultra-compact" SD750 measures just 3.6 x 2.2 x 0.8 inches, and fits in almost any size pocket. The new 3 inch PureColor LCD is constructed with a multi-level coating which reduces scratches and smudges. Power up - to - first image capture is a mere second. Almost no Shutter lag (delay between depressing the shutter button and capturing an image). Flash cycle time is also very reasonable about 2-3 seconds. Using the continuous (burst) mode, was also pretty fast. The overall image quality was very good for a 7-megapixel model. Its 3x optical zoom lens offers a typical range of 35 - 105 mm and produces clear crisp images. Its dedicated Portrait scene mode has the new Face Detection AF/AE/FE technology and it does an excellent job of detecting faces in the frame, produces nice sharp portraits, that show accurate facial detail and skin tones. The flash has an average range of about 11 feet at wide angle (ISO Auto). The SD750 features a high-quality VGA 640x480 movie mode. Standard mode offers selectable resolution (640x480 or 320x240) and frame rates of 30fps or 15fps. Because audio is recorded, the optical zoom may not be used during recording. The SD750 is powered by a tiny NB-4L 3.7v 760mAh proprietary Li-ion battery pack. I was able to capture about 137 images without any indication of low battery warning. Canon includes a very compact and portable AC charger that takes about 90 minutes to charge a fully depleted pack. The charger plugs directly into any 100-240V AC outlet and has fold- away plug.

Compact and useful
4 Star Review   By member jackm2211 - Jun 6, 2007

Strengths: Small-sized camera with whopping 3 inches screen.

Weakness: no image stabilization or Vibration reduction (VR) The multi-function control button is somewhat difficult to use.

The goods: The camera is amazingly easy to use. If you already familiar in Canon Point-and-shoot type, you will have no problem using it without reading the manual. Bright 3-inch screen will help you see the image more clearly even in the day light It was face tracking auto focus (AF) to make closest face sharp in the image. ISO 1600 will reduce blur image when shooting in low light condition It also has idiot-proof function that let you shoot a great image in several lighting conditions--Indoor, Party, Night portrait, etc. The bad: It has no image stabilizer (neither lens nor digital) to reduce hand shake during low shutter speed shooting (require for low light,so the image will be either blur or be grainy (high ISO) It has no battery gauge to indicate how much battery juice you have left. So, it is highly recommended to buy the spare one. The multi-function control button is somewhat hard to use. The camera let you slide you thumb on the button to make it behave like a turning knob. However, with the friction between your thumb and the button, it is rather tough to use. Conclusion: With 3-inch screen and idiot-proof function, the camera will easily be your favorite.

love this camera
5 Star Review   By member ddstier - Jun 6, 2007

Strengths: beautiful photos, fast

Weakness: lots to learn

We just got this camera to replace my older and slower (and heavier, bulkier) digital camera and I love it!! I can get terrific photos of my kids even if I can't get them to sit still for pictures. My old camera always captured whatever happened five seconds after I tried to shoot a photo - but this one gets the moment I'm aiming for. The photos are beautiful too. I'm very happy!

Amazing Digital Camera
5 Star Review   By member teddybear35 - Jun 5, 2007

Strengths: The graphics on this camera is just amazing. There is no way anyone would be disappointed with it. 3" Lcd a favorable assest.

Weakness: The only thing it does not come with a cloth for the lcd screen and I do find that you cannot help but to get fingerprints on the screen.

I'm new at using a digital camera but I do know that I reached and found this on to be the best on the market right now. I know I mentioned that large 3" LCD screen.

Weakness: Padded cases/ accessories semm pricey for what you get. Blutooth capablilty would br great.

I have had a few digital cameras. This one is great. Fits in your pocket. A large LCD screen with a fast auto focus. The battery live seems longer than the other Cannons I have owned.

4 Star Review   By member langtu - May 25, 2007

Strengths: Compact body made it easy for carrying around, good picture, large LCD, lot of features.

Weakness: No view finder, no camera case.

I had a Canon PowerShot S60. The Canon SD750 is lighter and smaller compare to PowerShot S60. It is so small, it will fit into everybody pocket. You can see the scence better with it's 3 in lcd screen. The picture is excellent. A bit draw back that it does not have view finder. The price of Canon SD750 is little bit more than the Canon SD1000, but I am glad I chose the Sd750.

Canon PowerShot SD750 Digital Camera
5 Star Review   By member xxx2zzz1 - May 13, 2007

Strengths: slick design, large LCD, excellent photo, good movie quality.

Weakness: No view finder. LCD gets dirty easily.

The SD750 is a replacement for SD630, I believe. It has a 3" LCD. The design is really attractive. I initially bought a SD1000, but returned it because the 3" LCD on SD750 looked so much better than the 2.5" LCD on SD1000. Also, the SD750 is a lot more stylish than the SD1000. The SD750 is slightly larger/heavier than the SD1000, but it's still very compact and will fit in almost any pocket you will have. The movie is 30fps at VGA resolution. It has lots of auto program features that will likely suit your needs. Picture quality is excellent. The only drawback on this camera is that there is no view finder. It may have problems when you can't see the picture on LCD under bright lighting conditions (although I haven't experienced it yet). The LCD seems to have anti-reflection coating (that may solve problems under bright lighting conditions). But, that also makes the LCD get dirty easily. Your finger-prints will be very obvious if you accidentally tough it. So, it would be nice if canon provide a cleaning cloth with the camera package. It would also be nice if it comes with a case. But, one can certainly get those from somewhere else. I got this camera for about $220 (including tax). At this price, this is an excellent camera.
