Excellent Product
5 Star Review   By Charlie on Adorama - Jul 30, 2013

I purchased this camera body to use primarily as a backup for my 5D MKII and secondarily as a smaller lighter less conspicuous body to use with the Canon 40 mm pancake lens. The tests I've run so far indicate that it is an excellent choice. Good resolution and surprisingly low digital noise levels. So far Apple has not updated iphoto 11 for the version of camera raw used in the SL 1 but Adobe has done so for Lightroom 4 and the results I've gotten are very satisfactory there is lots of shadow and highlight detail that can be brought out.

Excellent Travel Camera
5 Star Review   By tamsdean on Adorama - Jul 18, 2013

I own a 40D and 5D Mk3, but wanted a lighter, full-featured camera that uses my Canon lenses, for international travel. At the last minute, I ordered the SL1. It arrived, as promised by "Meyer F," at 10:30 A.M. just before my 3 P.M. flight to London. I had just enough time to charge the battery and snap a few shots to make sure it worked. I mated it with my 18-135 EFS lens. It makes high-quality images, and was a joy to carry around in crowds. No sore shoulder from a heavier camera. A nice bonus was the touchscreen. I wish the 5D3 had one! I even played a bit with the video function, which seemed to work nicely. I made hundreds of images, and I am very pleased with the image quality and ease of use. I set it for fine JPEG, but twice it "magically" changed to Raw+JPEG, and once to RAW. The camera is small, so maybe I changed this accidentally, or maybe there is a glitch in the firmware. This is a problem with a small camera like the G11, so my hands may be too big for the thing. Battery life was fine, and images at higher ISO were good. I was very pleased with the camera.

Just what I wanted
4 Star Review   By zoo camera on Adorama - Jul 2, 2013

Looking for a lighter body with more flexibility than the Canon PS SX50, can follow action with it better than the SX50.
