Canon EOS M Preview
4.5 Star Review  photo.net - Jul 31, 2012

On July 23rd 2012 Canon made the long anticipated announcement of their entry into the Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Camera market with the Canon EOS M. The EOS M uses the 18 APS-C sensor which Canon recently debuted in the Canon T4i DSLR. This sensor has phase sensitive AF pixels embedded in it which enable faster AF operation than sensors which have to depend only on contrast sensitive AF operation (though it’s not as fast as the separate phase sensitive AF system found on Canon EOS DSLRs). The EOS M appears to be an entry level camera, perhaps intended as an option for those moving up from a compact P&S camera, but who don’t want to carry around a larger DSLR. The EOS M will be available with a fairly small 22mm f2.0 lens (equivalent view to that of a 35mm lens on a full frame camera) and an 18-55/4-5.6 IS lens will also be available.

EOS-M TO SMALL FOR IT'S OWN GOOD
1 Star Review   By BG on Adorama - May 17, 2013

Can't see the screen in the day time, you would need a addon hood, which would defete the small size. Do to the small size the it's hard to handel the camera without setting off a few shots. It's going on the auction block.

powerful and familiar Canon- great video
5 Star Review   By BM on Adorama - Feb 5, 2013

The 20mm pancake lens is far to shakey for handheld video, but the zoom with IS is perfect. I've replaced my canon 7D with this as my primary video camera, and now getting more use out of it for personal photographs. It has consistant color and image qual

Says it has two lenses, but it does not?
1 Star Review   By Jared on Adorama - Jul 25, 2012

A new camera mount and short flangeback design (which brings the rear lens element closer to the surface of the sensor) means a new lens system based on the EF-M mount, and the EOS M arrives at birth with two lenses, an 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM kit lens (
