Simply Awsome Camera
5 Star Review   By Shooter on Adorama - Nov 12, 2013

When I purchased the 70D I was pleasently suprised to find many additional features over My 50D although I am a still photographer the ease of using the video with the ability to capture a High Resolution image during recording made it the perfect addition to My kit at an affordable price

More than I Expected
5 Star Review   By miked on Adorama - Nov 2, 2013

I received my new CANON 70D about a week ago. I have been reading every review that has come available on the Internet and also You-tube. I have also talked to a few Professionals who use CANON equipment to get their view. I will not bore you with all of my talk, but I will give you some things that I have found out since receiving my unit. AUTO FOCUS This is a nice jump from my 60D. It has the 7D - 19 point AF and all cross point. It makes for a fast AF and cleaner photo's. I am amazed at how many more AF points lock onto a subject when using the auto focus sequence. DUAL PIXEL, LIVE VIEW I would think these go hand in hand, and they work quickly and well. The camera is quick to focus, and allows for great photo's. Very impressive upgrade from the LIVE VIEW on my 60D. VIDEO I shot a video today while at the zoo and the clarity was excellent, so was the color saturation. Full HD is by default and it is excellent for what I will use it for when traveling. ISO I have taken a few photo's at ISO 6400 & 12,800 just to check the way it deals with the noise. I took my 60D and took the same photo's with the same lens and I believe that the 70D is better by one stop. The 12,800 on the 70D is about what the 60D is at 6,400. This is my opinion based on naked eye on my monitor. I also looked at the tests done on DPREVIEW. I have tried all of the scene modes and found them to be a good selection. I like the HDR mode and also the exposure photo mode, something I guess people have been interested in seeing from CANON. I have been very impressed with the camera. It is a good upgrade from the 60D, it has much more to offer and the higher PIXEL Count shows up in the photo's, as does the increased FPM. 7 FPM seems so much faster and improves sports shooting if this needed more than the 5.3 of the 60D. It feels real solid in my hands and bigger than my 60D. It also has the new touch screen and that is useful, but for now I find myself using my way of moving around like the 60D. I have already recommended this to a couple of my friends who are looking into upgrading their equipment.

Best APS-C so far
4 Star Review   By Skul on Adorama - Oct 16, 2013

After a month and a half, I find it exceptional. Restoring the MFA to this body was a big plus over the 60D. It does make a difference. I already have the 5DMkII and needed to upgrade my older crop sensor body. The 70D seemed the logical choice. I use it for a wide variety of fun. To be honest, I haven't touched the 5D ever since I got it. I've only found two drawbacks, which influenced my rating. I found the high ISO noise to be only on par with the 5D, and sometimes worse. The autofocus in movie mode, isn't that great...in low light. (works good otherwise) I'm not a movie guy, so this really doesn't bother me. One last gripe. The CR2 RAWs, are not recognized by Adobe CS5. Really Adobe's fault, and not the camera. It handles well, it shoots well. Still getting used to the power switch location. Until the 7DMkII, comes out, this is probably the best crop sensor camera on the market. Time will tell.

Very cool camera!!
4 Star Review   By J Banks on Adorama - Oct 8, 2013

Im still wading through all the features on this machine. I upgraded from a Canon T1i and Im very pleased so far. I do some studio work and other random shooting. The high ISO performance is great compared to the T1i. I do wish it had a WB button thats my only real complaint so far. Haven't gotten a chance to get it in the studio yet but excited to do so!!

Best APS-C available
5 Star Review   By Wayne Schlegel on Adorama - Oct 4, 2013

If you dont want to buy a full frame body, then this is currently the most complete camera on the market. Why not fullframe? Fullframe is more heavy, no build in flash, no movevable monitor and more expensive (for the price of a 5D you can buy 2-3 ohers like 60D or 70D) - during the typical life span of a camera like the 5D MK3 there will be many improvements in the xxD range, if you have limited budged or dont need full frame, you are better of with a cheaper crops sensor body. If you want to take Videos with a DSLR this camera is a game changer, other models will probably folllow the new dual pixel approach but currently the 70D has far the best autofocus system for live view or videos in the world. Some nice new feature like wireless , little higher resolution and increased ISO level complete the 70D.

It was so worth the wait.
5 Star Review   By Bill on Adorama - Sep 10, 2013

I could not be happier with my Canon 70D. I came from the awesome 60D only to find the 70D to be even awesomer (Sorry. Couldn't help myself.) I've not explored all that it can do yet and it can do a lot. But what I've done so far has exceeded my expectations. Do I need to say anything about Adorama? They are my go to online camera store.

Make the move
5 Star Review   By Roger on Adorama - Sep 10, 2013

I was an Olympus E-3 user who kept waiting for them to release a new model with competitive ISO levels (anything over 800 was unusable), also the super telephoto lens selection was terrible, but I loved my articulating LCD screen. So when I heard the 70D was coming which has a articulating screen I was on the waiting list. I purchased a 24-70mm and 70-200mm both f/2.8 and a 1.4x teleconverter which were waiting for the camera to arrive. Adorama must have been the first to get shipments from Canon because I received it soon after I heard Canon shipped them. The camera is awesome low light capability is worlds above my E-3, the wi-fi is totally cool and makes painting with light shoots doable by myself. The auto-focus is incredibly fast and accurate and I enjoy the touch screen more than I thought I would. An example for the usefulness of the touch screen is due to it being a new camera manufacturer I'm not familiar with the menu so I can hit the quick menu button and a display shows all your settings just touch one and it brings you right to the screen to adjust it! I love my new camera!

Great all around camera
5 Star Review   By LearningCameras.com on Adorama - Sep 10, 2013

My main camera is the Canon 5D Mark III and currently have been using the Canon 7D as my backup camera. I purchased the Canon 70D to compliment/replace my 7D for my video/photo projects. I have been very pleased with the 70D and do have a full review on my website learningcameras.com with sample images and raw files for download so you can see the quality. Overall, the camera is an improvement in every way from the 60D and even an improvement on the 7D in terms of image/video quality. Noise levels are low, even when shooting RAW and the video quality is great though not a vast improvement. It did suffer from moire so keep that in mind. Noise levels in video were an improvement on the 7D but about what I have seen from the Nikon D7100 which is good up to 1600-3200 ISO. The live view AF works perfectly and was tracking objects without an issue. It works even better when tracking faces which is nice. Overall the camera is a great improvement and a worthy competitor to the Nikon D7100. The Nikon D7100 has a bit more pro feel, build, and features like dual SD card slots, but the Canon 70D held its own with more consumer friendly features like great video AF and WiFi.

Beautiful Camera
5 Star Review   By Robincat on Adorama - Sep 10, 2013

Bought this camera body only as an upgrade to my EOs Rebel T1i. Had already purchased 3 upgraded lenses, so didn't need lens with this. I had been wanting to upgrade, but had trouble deciding which camera to get, 60D didn't quite have all the features, 7D didnt use SD cards for memory, which I preferred. Couldn't afford full sensor camera. When the 70d came out it seem to have all I was looking for, couldn't wait to get one, so I preordered. LOVE IT!

Shot a Canon
5 Star Review   By DINK on Adorama - Sep 10, 2013

I shot action shots.. and this is a step up for me.. I have Canon film cameras and the Rebel 1,2& 3.. I used the 70D at a college game as a sideline hobby photographer and many pros were envious and I more pleased but need to work on my skills to use all the functions the camera offers.. Now I want the white lens to top it off..

Great camera
5 Star Review   By Becca on Adorama - Sep 10, 2013

This is a great camera. I haven't tried the video yet, but look forward to the experience. An extra bonus I discovered is that the autofocus works when you use the 70D in live view mode with a 100-400mm IS lens and a 1.4x tele-extender. This wasn't possible with my previous camera.

ADORAMA EXCEDED MY EXPECTATIONS
5 Star Review   By Ed on Adorama - Aug 29, 2013

Huge leap forward over my old 40D. 50D and 60D seemed like incremental changes, but the 70D was so technologically improved, I had to own it. Adorama shipped camera weeks before I expected it from my pre-order.
