Canon EOS 6D Review
4.5 Star Review  Imaging Resource - May 3, 2013

Despite a few quibbles, the 20.2-megapixel Canon 6D lives up to its promise of housing a glorious, full-frame sensor inside a smaller, lighter and more affordable DSLR camera body designed for prosumers, enthusiasts and novices alike. Canon's done a great job of not dumbing down or cheapening the 6D to fit its "sweet spot" pricing, and the EOS 6D is a responsive shooter that boasts image and video quality rivaling the stepup 5D Mark III. However, Canon has had to nip and tuck a few features to meet the 6D's more affordable pricing and slighter build, although it boasts a couple wrinkles -- built-in WiFI and GPS -- that none of its direct competitors offer. Read our review for all the details.

Not a heavy weight
4 Star Review   By Amadeus the Curious on Adorama - Nov 12, 2013

At age 66 I decided to go for all the marbles. I have never bought a new pro level camera. Used yes but mostly five year olds. So I could not afford the Canon 5D iii but the Canon 6D on sale fit the bill. I use it for casual use hopefully later to make some money with it. I was surprised at the light weight. Of course it is not a true pro level camera as far as how it is built but the image quality is truly spectacular.

Love my 6D
4 Star Review   By HLB on Adorama - Oct 29, 2013

Great design with easy access to the most common features. A reasonably priced full frame camera. Wonderful for landscape shots and I think it will be great for low light photography including my upcoming trip to shoot the Aurora Borealis. The only thing that could make it better would be a pop up flash.

Exceptional for low light.
5 Star Review   By Rodolfo the Promiscuous Haberdas on Adorama - Jul 30, 2013

I'm just an enthusiast and travel photographer, not a pro. I never use a flash so the low-light reputation was of great interest to me. In practice the camera goes far beyond its reputation. The images, taken in almost zero light and at very high ISO's (6400+) are unbelievably clean. Color is amazingly well-rendered and vibrant, provided you're using the appropriate white balance. That said, like the 5D Mark II, don't rely on the Auto White Balance for all situations. If you're a former Mark II shooter like me, there is a slight adjustment period between the 5D-style control layout and the 6D's more 7D-ish layout, but it's fairly intuitive and ergonomic. The camera is also very light and a bit smaller, which along with a small lens like the Canon 35mm f/2 or 40mm pancake makes it really light and compact. I haven't gotten into the GPS functionality yet, but by all accounts it's effective, and I have tried the Wi-Fi functionality through a smart phone and it's a very unique, very useful capability. Long story short, if you want to go full-frame or upgrade from a 5D classic or Mark II, you're willing to shell out a little cash for a nice fast lens, and you want incredible low-light ability, this is it.
