DCRP Review: Canon EOS-60D
4 Star Review  DCResource - Dec 5, 2010

The Canon EOS-60D is a solid offering in the midrange digital SLR space. With its very good photo quality (especially with a decent lens), rotating, super high resolution LCD, generally snappy performance, full set of manual controls, Full HD movie mode, and decent selection of bells and whistles, it definitely is a worthy successor to the EOS-50D.

Canon EOS 60D Review
5 Star Review  Imaging Resource - Jan 29, 2011

More clearly aimed at the consumer market, the Canon 60D represents something of a sea change for this formerly enthusiast camera line. With the 7D now tasked to meet the intermediate to professional photographer's needs, Canon has retooled the 60D to better serve as a step-up model for Rebel owners who want a little more, rather than as the lower-priced competition to the 7D. The Canon 60D is more clearly aimed at the Nikon D7000, with both now capable of capturing full 1080p video. Its 18-megapixel sensor is roughly equivalent in ability to the T2i and 7D's sensors, which means the EOS 60D does extremely well even at high ISO settings. Its redesigned body and interface make the Canon 60D a pleasure to use, and the versatile 18-135mm kit lens is a capable companion. We enjoyed our time with the Canon EOS 60D. Canon EOS 60D review at Camera Labs
4 Star Review  cameralabs.com - Oct 11, 2010

There's two ways of looking at the EOS 60D. First is as Canon's new mid-range DSLR, in which case it sits perfectly between the existing EOS 550D / T2i and EOS 7D. It offers a number of benefits to differentiate itself from entry-level models without stepping on the toes of true semi-pro models. So like the Nikon D90, you get some nice higher-end features without the cost, weight, size or complexity of a semi-pro body. In this regard, the EOS 60D may not be surprising, but delivers exactly what it's supposed to do. The other way of looking at the EOS 60D is as the official successor to the EOS 50D, in which case it's impossible not to be disappointed. Sure you're now getting 3 extra Megapixels, a raft of movie options, along with an articulated screen with a nicer panel, wireless flash control and a number of in-camera post-processing options, but the reposition from a semi-pro to a mid-range category has seen a lot of casualties. Find out what's missing and whether it really matters in our EOS 60D at Camera Labs, where you'll also see how its image quality and movie modes compare.

The EOS 60D is a new kind of DSLR camera from Canon, blending features from the cheaper 550D / / Rebel T2i and the more expensive 7D to exactly occupy the middle ground between the two. Aimed at the well-heeled amateur with a penchant for video, the 60D is the first EOS camera to offer an articulated LCD screen, making it easier to shoot both stills and importantly video. 4 Star Review  cnet.com - Jan 13, 2011

THE GOOD: Very fast; articulated display; excellent video quality and options. THE BAD: Some annoying interface conventions. THE BOTTOM LINE: The Canon EOS 60D is in many ways a great camera: fast, feature-packed, and with excellent photo and video quality. Some annoying aspects of its control layout dim its shine a little, however, so try before you buy.

Canon EOS 60D | Body Only
3 Star Review  productwiki.com - Feb 15, 2011

The Canon EOS 60D is a high-end digital SLR camera designed for casual users interested in professional grade quality photographs. The EOS 60D features an 18 megapixel CMOS censor combined with Canons Digic 4 processor which Canon claims will work "seamlessly for finer detail and excellent color reproduction". In addition the EOS 60D shoots full 1080HD quality video, and includes an HDMI output to allow connection with any standard HDTV. The Canon EOS 60D device supports ISO capabilities from 100-6400 allowing support for all types of lighted environments. The EOS 60D digital camera also includes a "Vari-angle" 3" LCD review screen; which means the device can be viewed from a multitude of angles. The Canon EOS 60D digital SLR camera includes additional support features such as 5.3 frames per second continuous shooting support, integrated device file conversion and trimming software, SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card support, Canon EF and EF-S Lens exterior lens ... PROS: (1) Speedlite Transmitter - controls up to two groups of Speedlite flashes without the need for an external transmitter (2) records to easy to find, affordable and capacious SD/SDHC/SDXC flash storage cards (3) smaller and lighter than the 50D (good for the everyday consumer) (4) " 3:2 aspect 1040k dot articulating display - stunning, images fill the display fully (5) top plate LCD for displaying camera settings ... CONS: (1) has been moved downwards in the line to find a middle ground between the T2i and the 7D - a focus on a prosumer rather than fully professional body design (2) drops the magnesium alloy construction of the previous 50D (3) actually slower than the 50D (5.3 vs 6.3fps) (4) the same old 9 point AF system as the 50D (5) lacks the joystick of the 50D / 7D

4 Star Review  photo.net - Jan 24, 2011

The Canon EOS 60D is Canon’s latest addition to their DSLR line and sits between the Digital Rebel T2i and EOS 7D in terms of both price and features. Canon certainly seems to have produced another winner in the EOS 60D. It’s a very useful update of the 50D, adding more pixels, HD video, a tilt and swivel LCD and lots of other small refinements.

Great product, low price
4 Star Review   By heypatrick on Adorama - Nov 12, 2013

This is a solid camera for the semi-pro. I now have two Canon 60D's. Buying it used is a big of a gamble as you don't know exactly what you are getting until it arrives. However, I feel I was very lucky in that the camera I received was in excellent condition. Not to mention Adorama has a very good return policy. Definitely worth adding a couple years on the warranty just in case. This camera is my favorite go to camera. The flip LCD allows me to take more unique shots. I like the built in flash so that I don't have to carry my foot mounted flash if I don't want to.

Only one thing missing
4 Star Review   By anonymous - Oct 6, 2013

I had the EOS 10 camera both digital and film and one thing I loved about that camera, that is not present in the 60D, is the ability to shoot from 1 to 10 frames automatically! Other than that it's a great camera; responsive, a little bit heavy but worth the price and the weight... and it's flexibility. You can make amazing pictures; even handheld down to a fifth of a second... if your hands are steady and the lens is not a telephoto! The one thing I really didn't like, was the inability to look through the viewfinder when shooting video: which means in bright sun forget about it! You can't see the image at all on the glare filled LCD screen. :-( you will need to be indoors on a tripod to effectively make use of the video except for very short clips.

Canon EOS 60D Black SLR Digital Camera
3 Star Review   By member rogerharrington39 - Dec 11, 2012

Strengths: same sensor so the picture quality is going to be great

Weakness: It's not as light as I expected

I love cannon with excellent 3:2, 3 inch, 1.04 million dot screen. The T4i is supposedly better with video. They have the same sensor so the picture quality is going to be great. I was on the fence between the 60d and the T4i. They are also about the same price, so the difference came in the features. But It's not as light as I expected.

Canon EOS 60D (Body only)
4 Star Review   Crutchfield.com

Crutchfield has collected 3 user reviews for this product with an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars. The most recent reviewer said, "I've had the EOS 60D for about two months and have taken thousands of pictures. I'm still learning and don't pretend to have done more than scratched the surface of this camera, but it is apparent to me how capable it really is. Have shot everything from low-light night interiors to mountain landscapes and it has performed superbly. The battery lasts forever -- with a full charge, it lasted through a five-day trip to Mexico with hundreds of pictures shot. The only real complaint I have to date is the weight but it's not really a serious complaint. It's just that this isn't a camera you casually slip into your pocket, but I knew that going in. Have taken it on multi-mile hikes on mountain trails and have not regretted it. Recommend getting lense(s) with auto-focus and anti-shake. The owner's manual is fine but I'd also recommend getting either a book or DVD to explain camera features and operations, especially if you're new to high-end DSLRs like I am. I did both, and the DVD really helped. Note -- several DVDs available, just Google "training DVD canon eos 60d.""

This was an upgrade from my previous Canon Rebel Xti. The 60D provides a lot more options to improve picture quality under several challenging conditions. I am extremely pleased with my choice as well as the usual Canon quality. It has provided a whole ne

Why did I wait so long
5 Star Review   By Kari on Adorama - Oct 4, 2011

I will use this camera for everything. I always use Canon so it was easy to use since it is similiar to my other Canon cameras. I find there is nothing I do not like about it.
