Powerful and simply the best.
5 Star Review   By USMALE on Sony - Official Store - Aug 29, 2013

As far as electronics go, this is one of the new seven wonders of the world. What an amazing video camera. It is so easy to use and the quality is second to none. The developers did their homework and got this right.

Good things do come in small packages
5 Star Review   By BiggBirdd on Adorama - Jul 23, 2013

Very nice feature loaded camera for the $$$$. Takes great video. The rain proof is great for anyone that does outdoor shooting. This is one camera I'll go to a lot in the future. It's also one of the few with NightShot.

Sony HXR-NX70U is great!
5 Star Review   By FilmInSyracuse on Adorama - May 25, 2013

I recently upgraded to this camcorder from my old Sony. I like the fact that this is still lightweight and dependable but offers many more options. I would highly recommend this camcorder.

Excellent Camera
5 Star Review   By Smoothbassman on Sony - Official Store - Oct 27, 2012

I was very excited to get this camcorder. It came just in time for a shoot and I spent the evening learning all of its features and getting things setup for the event in the next few days. After selecting my quick menu options and hooking up a wireless lapel microphone to the unit I went out to do some shooting and I'm glad I figured out this issue before the main event. On the on-board mixer, it blends both channels 1 and 2 together when you have it selected as CH1-CH2 and have 2 inputs connected to the device. The instructions state that if you only want channel 1 then select that option, but in reality what is does is give you 2 mono channels (Left - Right). That's exactly what I would need for the event that weekend as I was going to pull down a mix from the house mixer separately from the shotgun microphone using my H4N and blend them in post, but now I can record it straight to the camera on channel 2. The manual needs to be more clear about that. If you unplug channel 2 you indeed get channel 1 sound on both the Left and Right inputs on the track. As far as video quality goes, this camera ROCKS! White Balance is good after using the spot option, Saturation is true to life, and after turning Automatic Gain Control Off the brightness and color profile of the video looks really nice. You will need a solid editing machine to playback 1080p @ 60 fps, So make sure your computer is up to the task before purchasing this camera. So after using it for a few weeks I'm solidly sold on this camera. Its a great go-between professional and consumer camera options. The picture is crisp when the gain stays low, a little grain starts to show itself when its boosted. It's compact and everything feels very solid on the unit. Love the on-board audio mixer, now I can leave my H4N at home.

Outstanding Video Performance and Featur
5 Star Review   By Lorray on Adorama - Sep 18, 2011

This is a great camera, outstanding video and audio quality for a entry level pro camera. Sony has put a wealth of features in a tiny package. While I have just begun to explore all the features, I have done many hours of shooting already with the camera
