Sony Handycam DCR-SX45 (Black)
3 Star Review cnet.com - Jun 14, 2011

THE GOOD: The Sony Handycam DCR-SX65 is an easy-to-use compact camcorder with good active electronic image stabilization and a built-in USB cable for quick uploads. THE BAD: The SX65s video is very soft and noisy with noticeable fringing on subjects even at small sizes. There are no mic or headphone jacks, and the electronic image stabilization wont help you with the lens fully extended. THE BOTTOM LINE: Sonys Handycam DCR-SX65 packs a megazoom lens at a reasonable price; one look at the standard-definition video, though, and you might regret not spending a bit more for an HD model.

4 Star Review productwiki.com - May 11, 2011

The Sony Handycam DCR-SX45 is one of three flash memory-based digital camcorders (DCR-SX85, DCR-SX65 and DCR-SX45) released together in early 2011. It features a 60x optical zooms lens with support for a 70x extended zoom, a touch-screen display, and a variety of expansion options like Memory Stick and SD/SDHC. Unlike the other two models, the DCR-SX45 offers absolutely zero internal memory, which means a memory card is required to capture and store any content. Speaking of which, the camcorder supports 720p video footage and HD still images, as well as stereo audio. One notable feature is Direct Copy, which lets users move footage directly from the camera to any external HDD without relying on a PC. Features Handheld Digital Camcorder Advanced HAD CCD Imager Sensor 60x Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Lens 70x Extended Zoom 2000x Digital Zoom Touch-Screen Clear Photo LCD Display 720p Video Capture (MPEG2) HD Still Capture (JPEG) Built-In Microphone ... PROS: (1) touch-screen interface on the LCD is easy to use, well designed (2) compact and lightweight build - dont notice the weight at all (3) impressive zoom, can get right up close to distant subjects (4) easy to copy files onto an external source, just drag/drop (5) lens cover is built-in, wont ever lose it ... CONS: (1) doesnt have built-in HDD space, need to use a memory card (2) low resolution 230K dot display
