Excellent tool!
5 Star Review   By Bubblehog on Home Depot - May 4, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This pin nailer is powerful and easy to use. The double trigger safety is much better than my old unit's (not a P-C) contact feeler that always got in the way. The P-C's nose gets into the tightest places and it easily countersinks 1 3/8" slight head and straight pins.

so far so good
5 Star Review   By artco on Home Depot - Apr 11, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Used it to install some molding. If the molding is thick enough it holds it pretty well. Should make it easy to take off in the future without damage. Holes are so small I think I will be able to prime and paint with no filler.

PORTER CABLE pin138 NAILER
5 Star Review   By DEZign on Home Depot - Mar 29, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Great performance from a small nailer. Nailer was able to drive pins through 3/4" thick hard maple without a problem.

Met my expectations
5 Star Review   By gkstlmo on Home Depot - Jan 29, 2013    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I make a lot of picture frames for my own artwork and for the last ten years have used a PC brad nailer and wood glue to hold them together. I wanted to try the pin nailer since it makes a smaller hole in the wood. So far I am pleased with this nailer though I have not yet used the 1 3/8-inch pins yet. I've used the shorter pins on both poplar and red oak and they recess well. One of the things I am pleased about is not having to use oil with this nailer. And I think it's a great value when compared to other name brands. There are cheaper pin nailers out there but I wanted one I could depend on and could get parts for.

Best pinner value on the market
5 Star Review   By Robe on Home Depot - Nov 28, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

This is a nice, solid nailer that has several advantages over the industry leader, Grex. The advantages can be summed up as follows: 1) 130 pin capacity allows reloading pins before the magazine is empty. Grex holds only 100 pins so it must be emptied prior to refilling. 2) No oiling is necessary - Grex has to be oiled. 3) Porter cable includes a dry-fire lockout, letting you know that the magazine is empty. With the Grex you can continue firing forever with no indication that Grex is empty. 4) Porter Cable includes a 3 year warranty, Grex, 1. 5) The Porter Cable is about half the price of the Grex. What more do you need to know? So far I have fired pins from 1/2 inch to 1 inch into hardwoods (oak and maple) and each and every time the "heads" end up nicely recessed just below the surface. I haven't had to exceed 90 psi and haven't experienced any misfires or jams. Note that the specs state that the nail size range is 5/8 to 1-3/8, but I have had no issues using Porter Cable 1/2 in pins. The pinner is also very light and comfortable to work with. I haven't a single complaint. The only caveat is that since I have had this for only a month, I can't comment on longevity, but at least they offer a 3 year warranty.

Seems like a quality unit
4 Star Review   By RonNH on Home Depot - Sep 7, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

I needed a pin nailer for a cabinet project, installing 1/4" moulding on the door panels. The PC nailer was just the thing for the job but I was bothered by the no-contact tip. You have to squeeze the safety trigger, then the firing trigger to get it to fire. It just takes getting used to and the brad makes a tiny hole, almost invisible.

Smooth Operation
5 Star Review   By Fixer on Home Depot - Apr 1, 2012    ( See more reviews from Home Depot )

Went to the store to buy a PIN100. They didn't have any of those in the store but did have the PIN138 even though the web page says it is an online exclusive. Also the description says "A handy light illuminates your work surface when needed." Well there isn't a light either. Not a big deal though. The gun performs flawlessly. It is a little bigger than the PIN100 I had used but it is still not too bulky.
