3.5 Star Review  productwiki.com - Dec 25, 2010

Bridgestones Blizzak WS-70 tire is for passenger cars and other small or mid-size vehicles, and it has similar features to the model below it, the WS-60. It is meant for winter driving and its features are based around snow traction. They include a special porous rubber compound that cuts through thin water layers to improve grip on ice, a special rubber polymer compound that grips snow and ice better than Bridgestones standard tires, and a wider tread to give better slush performance. It has four deep grooves to expel water, and 3-dimensional sipes that add block stiffness to increase grip in dry conditions. It is an all-around winter tire and features many of Bridgestones winter-tire technologies. Features For passenger cars Four deep circumferential grooves Porous structure cuts through thin water layers Special rubber compound grips ice and snow Stiff blocks for better dry grip Wide tread for slush and snow handling ... PROS: (1) grips the pavement well in the winter, very good traction (2) feels stiffer and more responsive in warmer weather (3) cut through standing water effectively (4) dig through packed snow fairly quickly (5) deeper tread than the Bridgestone Blizzak WS60, can manage deeper snow and slush ... CONS: (1) start to visibly show wear soon after installation (2) not as good in the rain as many all-weather tires
