I placed the unit in my garage and it is working perfectly.
5 Star Review   By Bobcampnj on Home Depot - May 14, 2013

I placed the unit in my garage and it is working perfectly. I have about 65 bottles of wine in it. I set the temperature at 57 degrees and it fluctuates between 55 and 57 degrees. The unit operates quietly and I am very pleased.

Superb in all respects--exceeded expectations!
5 Star Review   By Halley on Home Depot - May 1, 2013

The Danby 75-bottle wine refrigerator has exceeded all of my expectations. The narrow profile looks great; the glass door seals well and the interior temperature stays within a relatively narrow range (+- 4 degrees); the wooden bottle racks are strong and attractive; and the entire unit fits comfortably under a stairwell. I could not be happier with this wine refrigerator. I plan on ordering another one soon.

schlepped it home, upacked, plugged in, was happy for 1 week, stopped cooling, leaked oil on my floor, schlepped back to store for refund...going to look for better product...Home Depot was good but product was bad....

Our second one!
5 Star Review   By Kindermom on Home Depot - Mar 5, 2013

We liked our first cooler so much that we decided to buy another, rather than a bigger version. They are the perfect size and both fit under our staircase. The cooler is not heavy and easy to set up. The thermostat holds the temperature well and our electric usage has not appreciably risen. The unit does not pull much power, and both run off of the same outlet. Plug in and go!

Very good wine refrigerator for the price
5 Star Review   By Will on Home Depot - Feb 27, 2013

We decided to get a larger wine refrigerator in order to buy more high quality, value wines to keep for entertainment purposes and to be able to enjoy great wines over a few years (when they're gone, they're gone!). This one was a great value for the size. I really like the wooden trim on the racks. The refrigerator displays the wines nicely without being too showy. It does make some noise when it runs but that doesn't bother me - I keep it in my office and the "white noise" is actually a plus. It doesn't have a lock but I can lock my office. Compared to the other much more expensive wine refrigerators of this size, I would definitely recommend this one. A couple of other notes - we've only had this a couple of weeks and I have noticed the temperature fluctuate a few degrees. For this I would not recommend it for more expensive wines that you plan to keep for, say, 10 years. Also be aware that after a power outage, the refrigerator resets to the default temperature. A manageable fault but poor design.

Overall a great value for the money.
4 Star Review   By Bear on Home Depot - Feb 5, 2013

I've only had the unit for a couple of weeks but am very satisfied. My only complaint to date is the same as others who have reviewed this Danby cooler; it's "set" temperature varies as much as 5-7 degrees. It's not a big issue for me as we use the unit to take advantage of our favorite wines when they are on sale and we don't buy many expensive ones. Bottom line, it works great for us!

Looks great
5 Star Review   By Steph on Home Depot - Jan 30, 2013

Love this wine cooler.. It works as described. The wooden shelves are easy to remove to stand bottles up instead of having to lay them down. Don't really notice the noise as others have described. Keeps all the liquor at a nice temperature. Looks great in my dining room. Would definately purchase another one.

Works as described...and a great price.
4 Star Review   By Mike on Home Depot - Jan 1, 2013

This wine fridge was exactly as described. It was easy to unbox, move into place and set up. It came to the set temp quickly and after three weeks is holding the temp within 1-2 degrees, which is fine with me. As with other similar products, larger bottles (e.g. pinots) take up more room that standard bottles, reducing the capacity... that was expected. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

best storage for the money
4 Star Review   By R123 on Home Depot - Nov 25, 2012

Have it in the garage - no noise issue, clear glass and the use of wine labels makes finding things easy. Removable racks allow for increase storage. Did a lot of research and this is the best buy. Only issue is that the internal temp monitor does not reflect true temp. (runs 5 deg warmer)

Happy with Purchase
4 Star Review   By sully on Home Depot - Nov 20, 2012

Very happy with wine cooler. It holds more like 60 bottles because of size differences, but that is okay. Shelves don't slide out super easy, but wood shelves are attractive. Temp fluctuates between 54-57, have it set for 56 b/c we're keeping mostly reds in it, but I think all wine coolers fluctuate. Looks great and does the job!

Works as advertised.
4 Star Review   By MTexas on Home Depot - Oct 23, 2012

I ordered this wine refrigerator because it was considerably less expensive than large versions from other manufacturers. Those other manufacturer's models had poor ratings for reliability so I couldn't justifying paying up for them. It's been two months and so far so good. I set the temperature at 50 degrees but it seems to fluctuate between 48 and 52 on its own. At 50 degrees bottles of white are already cold enough to drink with no further chilling necessary. My long term concern is reliability so I paid up for an extended warranty from SquareTrade. I figured even with the additional cost it was still cheaper than other models.

A Great Value!
4 Star Review   By MAKFG on Home Depot - Jun 28, 2012

After significant research I landed on this unit from Home Depot. The cooler offers all standard features for a great value. It's a good looking cooler and is moderately quiet ... Based on the other reviews I was concerned about the noise level, but so far it has been fine (not the quietest, but certainly not an issue). The temperature remains stable with a 4 degree variation. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

Good product and value for the price
4 Star Review   By Anvil06 on Home Depot - Jan 26, 2012

Overall, this wine cooler is doing the job I purchased it to do. The temperature does vary, anywhere from 2 to 4 degrees. Also, the bottom storage area of the cooler is consistently 2 to 3 degrees cooler than the middle and top portion. A bit noisy but you can't beat the price. Other coolers of this size and space were going for much more. I'm satisfied with the purchase.

Great value!
4 Star Review   By Timo on Home Depot - Dec 6, 2011

Shipped on time and looks exactly as described. Motor is a little louder that the 42 bottle unit this replaced but is not obnoxiously loud. Temperature fluctuates 2 or 3 degrees without the unit having been opened, but all seems well as this may be normal.

Good value, looks nice as well as functional

Nice styling, good set up for bottles. Temperature range a little wide between on and off but not real issues.

great for the price
4 Star Review   By freddy on Home Depot - Nov 14, 2011

I researched wine fridges for quite a while before deciding on this one. Like some reviews say if is a little noisy but not so mush that its annoying but then mine is in the garage so we don't really hear it anyhow. When it was delivered the box had a rather large hole in the side so I opened it before I signed the delivery slip and there were only 2 very tiny dents on one side, not bad enough to bother returning. Have had it for a couple of months now and I am happy with how it runs and we have put a separate temperature guage inside and the temperature control seems quite accurate and it does a good job. Shelves dont slide out too easily but its not like i need to get at it multiple times a day. we pretty much only drink reds so the single temperature zone is perfect for us. You get what you pay for and for 699 bucks that i paid to get this on sale I think I definately got my moneys worth. Had trouble getting the extended warranty online but i went into the home depot and got the extended 4 year warranty for an extra 100 bucks no problem. I love being able store so many bottles and the quality of wine is way better when stored at even temperature. As recommended we let it sit for at least 24 hours before turning on and have not had any problems yet.

Good value for the price.
4 Star Review   By MST2 on Home Depot - Nov 9, 2011

Some damage during shipment, had to reverse the door which was pretty easy. Wider temperature variation than I would like, but for the value it is a small issue. Very well made, nice wood shelves, large capacity.

Overall great product for price.
4 Star Review   By WineFreaker on Home Depot - Sep 28, 2011

Unit is quiet, stylish and functional. Shelves are stable, slide easily and hold most bottles. Unit not as heavy as expected, so moved easily throughout home. Blue LED acts as perfect nightlight. 4-5F temperature fluctuation bottom to top. Certainly not the top of the line - but well worth the price. No issues in the 3 weeks it's been running.

So far, it's working fine.
4 Star Review   By Blueszy on Home Depot - May 28, 2011

I've has this wine refrig for a few weeks now, and it's running just fine. It's quiet and it looks great against the wall in my dining room. There was a minor defect when I received it. The top door hinge was slightly bent likely due to delivery, but the door functioned fine. It wasn't worth the effort to ship it back.

LOVE IT
5 Star Review   By member Michelleyy - Mar 27, 2009

Strengths: Looks good, holds a lot of wine - other beverages too. Shelves can be removed for more space.

Weakness: Moving it to my new place was a pain!! All the moving was a pain!

I am so happy with this wine ref. It looks beautiful and is so impressive. It had nice wood shelves. The temp on bottom is cooler than the top, but I think this is standard with wine refrigerators. Red on top, white on bottom. Cheers!

looks good, performance depends
2 Star Review   By member rmac94 - Aug 5, 2006

Strengths: Delivered, plugged in and worked with no problem. looks good.

Weakness: Large temperature flux if the ambient temp varies.

I bought this because I live in California, in the bay area in a single floor home with no ac. In the summer there are some> 100 degree days and storing/aging wine is difficult. So, we invested in this appliance. It was delivered, plugged in and worked from day one. Took about a week after loading 60 or so bottles of wine for the temp to stabilize top to bottom. But as the weather changed and the ambient temp fluxed, it did not remain constant. The bottom varied a slight reasonable amount but at the top there could be> 10 degrees difference from season to season. If you have a constant environment that is not too warm to place it, it will be fine, but if your environment fluxes more that a little then the top half to 2 thirds is not suitable for long term storage.

Good but some flaws...
4 Star Review   By member divazian - Aug 26, 2005

Strengths: price, style, and amount it can hold

Weakness: noisy compressor, and the temp. fluctuation is rather large.

over all I like it, but would have been nice if the compressors was quiter...it can be noisy. Other than that it's a good buy. I get lots of compliments on it, and nobody can believe the price.
