NOISY
2 Star Review   Home Depot

Just got this new washer dryer pair and I cannot believe how noisy this washer is. It is as loud as an out of balance traditional washer. You wouldn't want it in the living parts of your home..... only put it in the garage. Clothes don't seem to come out as clean as in my traditional washer, unless I use the Super Wash cycle. Wish I had just repaired my old washer.

5 Star Review   By WishyWashy on Home Depot - May 9, 2013

Purchased this Washer 6 months ago, and could not be happier. For a low-cost standard washing machine, this unit does everything I would expect. Small, Medium, Large and Super load sizes (i've washed full loads, to the fill line, and they some out great). Extra rinse, fabric softner options, soil levels...if you want clean clothes, buy this washer! Lid locks when you start the cycle due to the high RPMs of the unit. You can add an item by pausing the cycle and waiting for the drum to stop spinning. Does make a lot of odd noises, but they aren't terribly loud, and they are part of the balancing process. Have not had a single issue. VERY HAPPY!

I have read a few bad reviews on this washer, I am so glad I decided to go with my gut feeling. This is a great washer, I am totally satisfied with this washer in every way. My clothes come out clean, clean, clean every time.

Not what I expected, but seems to be great on water efficiency and good on cleaning
4 Star Review   By Elizabeth on Home Depot - Apr 15, 2013

The product description was misleading because it says that it doesn't require HE detergent, but it does. We bought it because we wanted an Energy Star appliance, but wanted a traditional top loader instead of a high efficiency (HE) washer. Although it isn't an HE washer, it is more efficient on water use (which I like) and does a good job cleaning clothes. However, it is an adjustment from a traditional top loader since you have to be much more careful how you load clothes and what spot cleaners you can use. I used a powdered oxy cleaner that the manual said you could use in addition to the HE detergent in the recommended amounts and it didn't rinse out all the way, but I didn't notice this until it dried and stained my pants. I was discouraged that this happened and debated taking it back, but I decided to keep using it and see if that ever happened again without using an oxy cleaner. It never happened again and I have been able to use spay spot cleaners with no problems for stains or oxy cleaners as a presoak outside of the washer before putting them in the washer. We also like that it is a smaller washer measuring in depth because we needed a smaller size to fit in a small laundry closet. So, overall I am happy with the machine in its cleaning and water efficiency - just was disappointed the product description didn't say it needed HE detergent.

This washer is HE - not as described
3 Star Review   By Cindy on Home Depot - Dec 12, 2012

The product description clearly states this washer is not HE and does not require HE detergent - however it is. There are several labels under the lid that declare this to be HE and you MUST use HE detergent. BEWARE

Very Sloooow High Efficency Washer
3 Star Review   By BusyMama on Home Depot - Aug 30, 2012

I was looking for a very basic top loading washing machine. I compared a few models and chose this one because of its energy star rating. The specifications listed online state that this is not a high efficiency washing machine and does not require high efficiency detergent. Upon delivery I was surprised to see high efficiency stickers all over the machine. The manual and under-lid instructions say to use high efficiency detergent only. The machine is easy to use...but it takes about 45 minutes to wash a normal size load of laundry. My clothes came out clean (even the football pants!)...but again, it took 45 minutes! At first I wasn't sure if the washer was working correctly. The "sensing" light was on for about 20 minutes. The machine would fill a little, agitate a little and sit a lot. After re-reading my manual and consulting a friend with a high efficiency washer, I found that this is normal. In an effort to conserve water, the machine will not fill all the way. It fills a little at a time- just enough to saturate the clothes. This model has a lid-locking feature that I'm not too fond of. If I find a run-away sock and want to throw it in I can pause the load to unlock the lid, but the "sensing process" will re-start at the beginning. This would be a good machine for someone who doesn't have a lot of laundry to do or if time isn't an issue.
