Whirlpool WFW9250WL 27 4 cu. Ft. Front Load Washer - Lunar Silver
3.5 Star Review  productwiki.com - Feb 9, 2011

The Whirlpool WFW9250WL is an Energy Star & CEE Tier III Qualified washer featuring a 4.0 Cu Ft stainless steel wash basket that can wash up to 16 pairs of jeans in a single load. It utilizes shock absorbers, springs and electronic controls to automatically redistribute the load, thereby minimizing wash drum movement during the 1200rpm spin cycle. Also featured is a temperature system that adjusts the cold/hot water levels so that it’s warm enough to dissolve detergents, but not so warm that it shrinks clothes or causes the clothes to bleed color. Critics especially praise the WFW9250WL’s Clean Cycle, which with a dose of Affresh washer cleaner eliminates built-up soap residue and mildew, thereby self-maintaining itself. Additional features include an easy-to-read LED display, a 3-tray automatic detergent dispenser, and a plethora of unique cycles like Eco (reduced energy), Bulky, Heavy-Duty, Whites and Silk. Features Clothes Washer Energy Star Qualified CEE ... PROS: (1) spins clothes dry, saves a lot of energy in the drier (2) uses very little water per cycle (3) auto-dispenser for the detergent is fairly reliable, never puts in too much (4) digital display is easy to read, controls are all fairly intuitive (5) draws very little energy per cycle, good on the electric bill ... CONS: (1) cycles are longer than most other washing machines, from 2 to 2.5 hours

Strengths: It looks nice

Weakness: It breaks every couple of months

I have never written an online product review but feel strongly about this one. This product is a piece of junk, and service from PC Richards is awful. I purchased it 14 months ago, and I am in the midst of my 4th product malfunction. The rubber gasket has failed three times, and I may be on my fourth failure right now. A failure is caused by a small tear apparently, but it causes big problems. It has flooded the room below my laundry room twice, so I've had to replace the drop ceiling twice. The other two times I caught it early and was able to put down towels to absorb the leakage. There is also a small gap near the rubber gasket, and small socks will go inside the gap, which then clog the filter, and the machine shuts down with an E9 error. Since this has happened several times, I asked the repairman to show me how to fix it myself. I know how now, but it's a real inconvenience. PCR will not replace my unit either, even though I bought a 5 year warranty (thankfully I invested in that). And to top it all off, it takes PCR weeks to diagnose, order parts, and repair the unit. Which means several trips to the laundromat. Buyer beware!
