Very pleased with my purchase.
5 Star Review   By wg101 on Home Depot - Mar 22, 2013

I purchased this Duet washer and dryer and am very pleased with the quiet operation, quality materials, installation service, and Home Depot extended warranty. The cost of all of this was very competitive.

Just can't take the constant fight against the mold
2 Star Review   By Sorrry on Home Depot - Jan 25, 2013

Whatever savings of time and money there is in having this type of washer is eaten away by the time and effort and extra purchases of speciall Affresh tablets you will need to buy to keep mold at bay. I tried the bleach method whirlpool describes on its website and ALWAYS left the door open. Didn't matter. The mold always came back. Get a top loader and save yourself the trouble. I wish I hadn't been swayed by the look of the stacked washer and dryer and the thought of how much extra space I'd have in my laundry room. Get the traditional top loader.

Unit Delivered "Defective from Factory"
1 Star Review   By Dissatisfied on Home Depot - Jan 23, 2013

This dryer was purchased (along with a matching Whirlpool washer). Upon delivery, the dryer was not even unloaded off the truck when the delivery gentlemen noticed a "defect from the factory". The washer was installed, however the unit would not power up. Since time of purchase to "estimated" delivery time for the 2nd set of equipment will be almost 1 month. Whirlpool customer service is cold, condescending, and un-empathetic towards the "2% of product shipped that this happens to". Attempts to express even the simplist feelings of dissatisfaction are met by Whirlpool with hostility.

Bearings wore out after 4 years
1 Star Review   By lsd3 on Home Depot - Nov 19, 2012

I loved this washer for the four years that it work, but we've now had to junk it and buy a new one. I agree with those who note that you have to leave the door cracked so that mildew doesn't develop, but otherwise, it worked well until the bearings failed. A major appliance should last longer than 4 years!

People complaining about the smell and mold
1 Star Review   By Avery on Home Depot - Oct 31, 2012

You have to leave the door cracked on the washer. Also there should be a spill valve to clean out water left in bottom of machine. Once every 3 months or so. I'll update just bought this model.

Washes well but problem with design can lead to maint. headache
2 Star Review   By Earl on Home Depot - Oct 6, 2012

There is a problem inherent in the design with this washer (and perhaps all front loads, I'm unsure). The water seal for the tub bearings is prone to developing leaks, and water entry will destroy the tub bearings. The first indication, for me, was a turbine-like whine during high-speed spin. Whirlpool doesn't sell only the seal and bearings, but the entire outer tub unit with bearings (to the tune of approx. $400 for parts alone). My seal failed after approx. 2 years of use, so I wouldn't expect a seal to last more than twice that long. I found a top-load HE on sale so I replaced an otherwise perfectly good machine because of a bad inner tub bearing.

Fantastic!.... Until the manufactures warranty expires
1 Star Review   By Nomorewhirlpool on Home Depot - Oct 5, 2012

My husband I had bought last years model of this washer because of the immaculate reviews on Consumer Reports. It had all the features we needed (Sanitize, Quick Wash...) and for the first year it worked fantastic! However a month after the manufactures warranty expired everything went south! The cylinder that closes the gap between the drum and door came loose. The drum froze completely and would not spin and even after we repaired the machine it broke down again a month later. When we looked into the problem we found that many customers had the exact same problem! This machine is great if you are savvy and get an extended warranty but if you're going for bare bones; kiss your $700 good bye.

Product was good
4 Star Review   By Huey on Home Depot - Sep 11, 2012

Whirlpool product was good, but returned it for larger unit. Also, was told the old base would not fit the new unit & had to buy a new base, which was not true as the old base fit perfectly on the new washer.
