works well, despite leveling and tighening the nuts it still vibrates a little during drying cycle, Wish it had an extra spin cycle.

Broke after one year
1 Star Review   By Lady on Home Depot - Feb 15, 2012

I loved this machine, but it broke one week after the warranty ran out. Because it is a problem with the computer, it would cost more to fix than buying the machine all over again.

Excellent value and works great
5 Star Review   By Jagdish on Home Depot - Feb 14, 2012

We like this model of washer - it is energy efficient and being front loading removes most of the water making drying time much shorter. Plus it is very easy to use. It has has worked without any problems at all since we got it. It is a great buy and an excellent washer!

Good but underwhelmed
3 Star Review   By BadCzMo on Home Depot - Feb 7, 2012

Overall this is a good product and seems to be well made but there are some things i'm not very impressed with. There is a rubber gasket lining the opening that has a groove in it. Perfect for snagging smaller items and holding onto them so they don't get thoroughly washed and rinsed much less spun dry. The manual advises putting children's socks in a bag to avoid this problem but i've had to pull larger items out and re-wash.

works well... now.
4 Star Review   By kenten on Home Depot - Feb 5, 2012

This washer arrived with a faulty motor controller. The controller was replaced under warranty and all is well. The interface is easily operated and provides basic functions which is exactly what I wanted. My suggestion would be to run a full wash cycle at installation to check all components.

Great washer... If you don't value your time or clean clothes!!
1 Star Review   By Mightymouse on Home Depot - Feb 3, 2012

I don't know if it's all front loaders or just this one but my main beefs are 1. It takes nearly an hour and a half to do a single load of cloths. 2.It WILL NOT remove even the smallest of grease spots(my 14 year old Hotpoint top load removed these same spots just fine) 3.Every part of the inside/door/seal of this washer is still wet after use(mold anyone?) 4.I find myself wiping large ammounts of wet lint from the door and seal after each use, this is a rather disgusting task. Bottom line: 1/4 the water for a washer that takes twice as long and only gets the clothes half as clean with four times the inconvenience.

Decent washer- certainly wrings more water out and seems to wash the clothes. It does put black streaks on white shirts sometimes and socks get trapped in the door seal.

Excellent Appliances
5 Star Review   By Imapapa on Home Depot - Jan 20, 2012

Amana is a name always trusted, and this washer is no exception. Stainless drum, and very good quality. Only owned two months, but use at least twice a day. Wash cycles are a little longer than usual, but is made up for in drying time. Would recommend at this point.

Dont buy this machine!!!!!!
1 Star Review   By dontbuythis on Home Depot - Jan 13, 2012

I have had this machine for 14 months and cant stand it....heres why. 1. If you put a bit too much in it, it will tear up your clothes. I cant tell you how many shirts have been ruined by this washer. 2. You regularly have to clean out the drain pump because socks somehow get out of the basin and into the drain pump. If it gets clogged up, the machine will completely stop. To do this you have to elevate the front of the washer so you can get to the 3 screws that hold the front panel on. Then there is a clean out you can get to, but be prepared for a lot of water to come out. 3. It stinks....literally. I guess thats when you know the drain pump has something in it, cause it smells awful. 4. The rubber gasket around the inside of the door is junk. Part of mine has torn completely off and there is a hole in it. 5. It leaks. I thought this because of the hole in the gasket, so I fixed that....no dice. I have no idea where its leaking from, but there is a pool of water in my laundry room every time I do a load. The price on this unit is about the only good thing about it. I will never purchase another Amana appliace. In fact, my wife and I are going out tonight to find a new machine.

OK for the money
3 Star Review   By khinmn92 on Home Depot - Dec 29, 2011

We have had the Amana washer and dryer for about 3 years now. All in all, pretty satisfied. No major problems or repairs needed yet. The washer tends not to spin the loads well and often you end up with soaking wet laundry even after using the extra spin cycle! Another annoying feature is the very sensitive push to start/pause button. It sticks out from the machine and is easy to hit accidentally as you walk by. Have activated/turned off simply by walking past and lightly brushing it...unfortunately, if in the middle of a load it doesn't resume where it stopped and the cycle has to start all over!!! Not the best design idea...OK for an entry level front loader...

Where's the spin cycle?
1 Star Review   By Toadie on Home Depot - Dec 27, 2011

At first I was really happy with this washer, then came time to wash delicates. That's about all it did was wash them, the clothes were so wet that I couldn't hang anything to dry without getting huge puddles. Then when I tried to JUST use the spin cycle, all the machine did was tumble the clothes around for half an hour. Really sorry I didn't read ALL the reviews and just went after the cheap price!

DO NOT BUY!!!!!
1 Star Review   Home Depot

We purchased this washer and the matching dryer on Black Friday 2010. Everything was great until about 6 months ago when the washer started tearing holes in our clothes and spitting up dirt during the cycle. from day 1 we washed our clothes in Tide he and used the affresh washer cleaner monthly, but this still happend. Finally, it got so bad that we had to take the nearly-new washer out and put back in the 10 year old clunker that we got the Amana to replace originally (luckily we still had it). Still waiting on Amana service to come and see what's wrong. I guess on the upside the dryer works great. Do yourself a favor... splurge for an LG.

If you have money to waste, buy this washer
1 Star Review   By DrainedInSA on Home Depot - Dec 2, 2011

I was going to warn you to purchase the extended warranty, but it won’t really make a difference. There is a reason why they give you the ONE year warranty; it will break soon after that. It started to make a noise like a coin rolling around. Then there was an odor similar to a burnt electrical circuit. After that, it didn’t spin or nothing. Then to top it off, the door didn’t open either. Don’t bother calling Amana (Maytag) for help. The BEST they can do for you are sending a repair person and then you will be out $65 right off the bat. To fix it: Part ($200-300) plus Labor ($100-200), plus time waiting for the part (if not in stock) 2-3 weeks. Advice: Don’t buy and save yourself grief and money. I will still do business with Home Depot, just not purchase any more Amana (Maytag) products.

Beware
3 Star Review   By Chris on Home Depot - Nov 27, 2011

Have had this washer for almost there years. The EMI filter (electrical component) went out. I've looked for 4 hours for a new part. Maytag says the part is no longer made and there is no compatible part. ARE YOU SERIOUS?? A 3 year old washer and they no longer make electrical parts for it?? Now I have a 190 lb paperweight. Never will I buy an Amana/ Maytag/Whirlpool product again.

1 Star Review   By Cheermom456 on Home Depot - Nov 27, 2011

1 1/2 years and no problem.
5 Star Review   By DeBa on Home Depot - Nov 25, 2011

I can't believe the bad reviews on this washer. It's been a really good one for us. I think it has a lot to do with how some people treat their things. We take care of our things and don't abuse them and they seem to last just fine for us. My opinion. We have one daughter who brakes everything in her home Inc her new whirlpool front load . Our other daughter takes very good care of everything and nothing ever brakes in her home. Both have kids. Both are different.

Good washer, good price
4 Star Review   By Jeff56 on Home Depot - Nov 22, 2011

I've been using this washer for about three weeks. The only thing wrong so far is a slight water leak at the bottom of the door. The tub is much bigger than my last washer, also a front loader. Seems to use very little water, and the spin cycle is very efficient so laundry needs less dryer time.

delivery and set up fine, 2 weeks after delivery water poured out the machine without going into the drum, wet new carpet in 3 rooms and poured water into basement bedroom, where do they make this 500 dollar junk. will never feel confident again using this machine

Simple and easy to use!!
5 Star Review   Home Depot

This machine is awesome, uses about 1/4 the water of my old top-load machine, yet cleans much better. Can't beat this machine for the value. Consumer Reports rated this machine with 75 points, the best rated machine got an 87, the lowest rated got 27. So you would have to spent twice the price just to get a machine rated a few point higher.

My only issue so far is that the door is loud when you close it (slams). Want to do more laundry to make sure it works well but so far so good.

Great washer!
5 Star Review   By Karens on Home Depot - Oct 21, 2011

OK Washing machine, not great
3 Star Review   By Maya on Home Depot - Oct 11, 2011

I was excited when I read the reviews on this machine but have not been overly impressed. Dislikes: the clothes are still pretty wet when they come out of the spin cycle, it already (after less than 1 month) has a musty smell to it, and there is no short cycle. I am not thrilled and would not recommend this product.

Such a relief
4 Star Review   By Shelley on Home Depot - Sep 27, 2011

I had an attached stacked washer dryer before. It did not last very long and had few settings. This washer is "stackable" and very convenient. Because it is a front loading washer I do not have to use much soap. The only drawback is the noise. But compared to my old washer the noise is nothing. Great washer for the money.

Not Very Impressed With This Product
2 Star Review   By N636 on Home Depot - Sep 13, 2011

It doesn't seem to hold very much for a 3.5 cu. ft washer. I currently live alone and don't have to do a lot of laundry so it's not all that bad for me, but I would not recommend this washer to anyone who has to do laundry for a family. Any savings in water cost is more than eaten up in the cost of the electricity it uses during a very long wash cyle for what I would consider to be less than an average size load it can hold ....I have the matching gas dryer and am even less impressed with it...When drying more than two large towels in a small to medium size load of clothes it causes the drum to unbalance (the dryer is level) and make a noise as it rubs against the frame of the dryer. I've only had the washer and dryer for 4 months and haven't used them all that much but I think that I might need to have a service tech come out and check the dryer to see if there might be a problem with the drum or belt before the warranty expires. I had my previous washer and dryer...not Amana products..for over 23 yrs..for most of that time I did a lot of laundry for my family of 4. I was very pleased with the way they performed, never had a problem with them, and they were still working fine when I moved to a new house and gave them to a family who needed a washer and dryer...I doubt that will be the case with the Amana washer and dryer I have now. I purchased an Amana side by side fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and gas range the same time I purchased the washer and dryer and although I do like the fridge and the microwave, I'm not all that impressed with the dishwasher and range either...but the delivery and installation service from The Home Depot was great so I would not hesitate to buy from Home Depot in the future..just not Amana products...

Good washer for the price
4 Star Review   By Southerndog on Home Depot - Sep 6, 2011

I originally selected this unit because of it's size (I had limited depth available). I have been pleasantly surprised. The washer (I have the matching combo) is fairly quiet and washes well. It does seem to take a while to go through the standard wash cycle (from start to end), but it is good. The dryer makes up for any lost time with this washer, since the dryer works very quickly (and dries well). I have the unit inside an apartment with new hardwood floors. Very little vibration to the unit, which is something I was concerned about. but overall it's a quiet unit that works well. And the price was definitely good.

DONT BUY THIS WASHER
1 Star Review   By DinCA on Home Depot - Aug 30, 2011

Bought this washer late November 2010, it is now August 2011. So far it has been in the shop twice for leaking/torn seal problems and now will not drain from pump issues. I am very careful about taking things out of pockets and read the product setup 3 times to make sure I didnt miss any requirements. This was a serious mistake to buy this washer and even at a discounted price still is not worth the hassle. Do yourself a favor and buy something else

HORRIBLE PRODUCT
1 Star Review   By Karen on Home Depot - Aug 5, 2011

This washer was delivered on 12/19/10. It broke on 4/22/11 and took over 3 wks for the part to arrive to fix it. On 7/1/10 water started leaking from the bottom and the bellows or seal around the door is ripped, today is 8/5/11 and the part that should have taken 3 days to arrive is still back ordered! And Maytag/Amana could care less. I have 3 children do they think 4 weeks and counting is an acceptable wait time for a part! The quality is poor and the part availablity is worse! I would not buy another front load or amana appliance. Now the grout is breaking apart from my tiles due to the leaking water - go figure!

Horrible Product
1 Star Review   By Connie on Home Depot - Jul 30, 2011

Please read reviews before you buy this product. Most of these positive reviews are from people who have just bought the washer, and is a great product when it is brand new. We have had the washer for 3 years right past the extended warranty and it broke. The water pump has no screen, my son had a very small lego in his pants so small in fact I missed it when I emptied his pockets. The lego was sucked into the water pump and it caused it to quit working so of course it is a Saturday, so I called a repair man and of course he had the part because this is what breaks, so $325 later I have a working washing machine, it cost almost as much as I paid for the washer to repair it for a simple lego. Repair man said to buy LG because they are made with a screen to prevent this from happening.

Good front loader for the money
4 Star Review   By jrw73 on Home Depot - May 31, 2011

Overall we like this washer and the price was right. Problems include the fact that small items easily get stuck in the door gasket or under the window, which juts into the machine. I watched one of my daughter's socks stay there for an entire cycle, so you need a mesh bag for little things like kids' socks, etc. The capacity seems smaller than our former top loading machine, but I couldn't figure out what the old machine was supposed to be able to handle. As with other front loaders, you have to be careful about leaving the door open after a load so the machine can dry out. The soap dispenser always seems to be wet though. But our clothes seem to be getting clean and we like the lower power and water usage. A good machine for someone who wants an entry level front loader.

Bad Washing Machine
1 Star Review   By buffalotim on Home Depot - Apr 28, 2011

Do Not buy this washing machine. We have had it for about 3 years and have had nothing but problems. As a mater of fact it is not working right now. It just stops working mid cycle. I was trying to get ahold of customer service yesterday for 1 hour and gave up. In 3 years we have had 3 breakdowns. Do yourself a favor and buy ANYTHING else.

Terrible Product - Buy the Extended Warranty
1 Star Review   By Wilk on Home Depot - Apr 1, 2011

We purchased this Amana washer in June of 2009 and at first thought it was a very good value. Fast forward to February 2011 and we walk into a laundry room covered in water. It turns out that debris can be sucked into the drain pump of these units causing the pump to crack. The service person actually pulled a dime and nickel out of our cracked pump. We were then quoted $350.00 to fix an 18 month old washing machine which originally cost $495.00. To make matters worse, the replacement drain pump is on backorder until May 1st. Now we are going on month 3 without a washing machine. I would not recommend this washer to anyone and will never buy another Amana product.

Disposable Washing Machine
1 Star Review   By mhulse on Home Depot - Mar 30, 2011

We bought this machine a little over a year ago, and have had nothing but problems with it. It leaks from several locations, ruining several pieces of my clothing due to it leaking bleach all over the floor. I have had to have the $150.00 + computer replaced every 6 months, because the buttons quit working. And once the warrantee is up that is it. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with Whirlpool just to get a sorry. After $600.00 down the drain, I will never buy another Amana, and after the customer service I received I will think twice about buying another Whirlpool.

I purchased this washer and matching dryer in December and I have had 2 service calls. The repairman first stated the drive shaft was assembled backwards and this time he has several parts on order. He said he is going to put in a service memo to amana/whirlpool. Meanwhile I've been solicited by amana to buy an extended warranty. I can't even get this washer to survive the first 4 months.

Good value for the money
4 Star Review   By sacornel on Home Depot - Mar 12, 2011

I paid 350 for this washer during Black Friday. I've been happy with it. I would recommend stacking this unit if possible. I would recommend stacking these washer and dryer or buying a pedestal. Loading and removing close can be back breaking for us old folks. The washer is quiet and hardly makes any noise. It's perfect for an inside laundry situation. The wash time is VERY long compared to public laundry facilities. It takes over an hour for a normal cycle. I'm use to 38 minutes so this was a shock. All in all good purchase. I paid 350 each for the washer and matching dryer. Don't pay more than that!

Very Pleased

We've had our washer for over a year and are very pleased with it. Our only concern is that there's no lint filter that we can find. Anyone know about this?

Amana washer
1 Star Review   By Marti143 on Home Depot - Feb 19, 2011

I am not happy with this washer. After it was installed, the clothes come out too wet, the cycles are very long, my electric bill has shot up over $65.00 a month since my purchase.

Very Pleased
5 Star Review   By kmvfree on Home Depot - Feb 17, 2011

I have had this washer and matching dryer for 2 months. I have no complaints and I am very pleased with both machines. Cleans clothes better than my previous machine. It does take much longer than top loader, but I believe that is typical of front loading machines. The price was right too. I would recommend highly. The only downside was that the delivery schedule was booked up for a couple weeks so I had to wait. The delivery people were great though. On time, efficient, fast.

4.0 cu ft Washer
4 Star Review   By Spunky2u on Home Depot - Feb 13, 2011

No hassle delivery. Washer is nice and price was right with 20% off. Clothes get clean with using a much smaller amount of detergent than a top loading washer. Negative is that it is noisy (4 stars vs 5). Laundry is on 2nd floor so I would not recommend washing clothes and having a dinner party. I am use to a more quiet top loading machine. All in all I recommend this washer. Make sure you leave the door open to prevent a musty smell as reported by others.

I have had this washer for a few weeks and I love it! I can place so much in it and all of it is clean.I have never had a front load washer but and now I would never go back.I like how the water and the soap is evenly spread over the clothes so all of it gets washed, and it's easy to use.

Awesome Washing Machine
5 Star Review   By HappyNJMomma on Home Depot - Jan 24, 2011

I was so excited to try out my washer and wasn't disappointed! I've used it a number of times in this first week, and it has been awesome. My clothes are very clean, they don't come out looking like they've been wrung out of control, and seem so much fresher. I'm still getting used to the differences between my old and new one, but I love it!

Top-Loading Washer Preferred
3 Star Review   By RatherBSkiing on Home Depot - Jan 24, 2011

Everything works fine but it takes too long in regular mode for my taste, and loading the clothes is a pain compared to top-loaders. You really have to push clothes in and hold them while loading a front-loader because they tend to pile out a little bit.. Also it makes more annoying noises than the top-loaders because of the tumbling of the clothes and frequent change of spin direction. My old top-loader made louder noise, but it was more constant, less annoying. There are some new, energy-efficient top-loading washers selling now and I'd get one of those if I could do it over again.

Mrs
5 Star Review   By sheilab on Home Depot - Jan 22, 2011

I have been using top load washers since I was married 39 years ago. When I saw these front load washers, I was skeptical. It looked too small to hold any substantial amount of clothing. Being a foster mom of newborns, I use the washer several times a week. Well, to my surprise, it turned out I was wrong. Not only does the tub hold a large amount of clothing, but it wrings out the water so beautifully, that I am saving on my gas with the dryer. It only runs half the time to dry them, since the spin is so fast. I am a fan of this Amana washer, and love it!!!

Easy simple to use - no complex settings and programs to learn. Somewhat louder than some I have seen. Buttons are very sensitive, I have activated when brushing by, but start requires you to hold a couple of seconds so no false start problems

Amana Washer
5 Star Review   By hartof77 on Home Depot - Jan 22, 2011

I love this washer! It barely uses any water, yet cleans better than the very old washer I had. It is very easy to operate and set settings. Very durable and high quality machine! I have never had any problems with it. I love Home depots pay in six months special with no intrest. I have a small utility closet and it fits just right, with the stackable option. I love it so much, I just wanted to watch it work at first. This is my first new washer and dryer set. It was a great deal, high quality and friendly service that was right on schedule. Thanks Home Depot-Great Job!!!

My Favorite Washer to Date
5 Star Review   By Faialchick on Home Depot - Jan 17, 2011

This is my first Front Loading Washer and the last NEW washer I purchased was in 1988 and I was using a used one since 2001/2002. The washer fits well in my apartment bathroom. It runs so quietly you can be seated next to it and barely hear it. You do hear it a little more during the spin cycle but that's to be expected. I purchased the anti-vibration pads (4 little rubbery squares, 1 under each foot) and I recommend them. I live in an older home and my older washer would shake the apartment. Now, nary a shake. Finally, the quality of the wash is incredible. Yes, this takes longer than a top loader but the payoff is markedly cleaner clothes with less wear on the fabric due to the absence of the agitator. No more getting drawstrings wrapped around the base of that thing. I'm very pleased that I got this as at a good sale price ($396 plus $30 for the anti-vibration) and they hauled away my leaky (oil) old washer for no additional charge. Thanks Home Depot--very happy with the delivery, the product and the price.

Very Good Product at this Price Point
4 Star Review   By Brettly on Home Depot - Jan 11, 2011

Very Quiet. Don't hear that it is "on" except when spinning-dry. Cleans super well. Just remember to 'dry' the rubber around the opening after each use. Wish it had more temp options - actually it does - but you have to 'program' them which I have not bothered to do yet.

Amana Washer
5 Star Review   By ewig on Home Depot - Jan 3, 2011

This is a great washer for the price, if you don't care about having a steam feature this is a good front loader. The only complaint my wife and I have about this washer is that you need to put small items (liike baby socks or lightweight dress socks) in a mesh bag, otherwise they sometimes get stuck on the door seal. Quiet, and effective.

Great Dean on a Washer
4 Star Review   By SGM1961 on Home Depot - Dec 24, 2010

I recently purchased this washer along with the companion dryer using the Black Friday sales deals. It was a great buy. I have now used the stackable washer dryer combo and regarding this washer, rank it highly. The controls are easy to use. The load capacity, while not super large, is a convenient size and I've washed blankets and comforters and sleeping bags with ease.. Small items should be washed in a mesh bag as they can get into the edge that rims the washer door. This is a great unit for anyone who needs a space efficient but effective and full service washer, and the price was excellent.

MORE THAN I EXPECTED
5 Star Review   By Beansmom on Home Depot - Dec 23, 2010

I had to buy a washer because mine finally gave out. This washer is so quiet I keep thinking that it is not working. According to the manual this should save me money but haven't had it long enough to evaluate. This is my first front load washer and so far I am beyond happy. The price is exceptionally low and gets large loads very clean. Also to have Home Depot haul away and install is a bonus. I love this washer and when the time comes for a new dryer I will be purchasing the matching one to this washer.

Amana Front Load Washer & Dryer
5 Star Review   By CoffeeMan67 on Home Depot - Dec 17, 2010

Well we finally recieved our new Amana front load washer and dryer today and I will have to tell you I am totally impressed with the quality of this brand. I know Amana has been around for a long time but they really out done there selves on this set. We have washed 4 super sized loads of clothes today and every load came out clean and fresh! Both machines are super quiet and bcause the dryer runs on much shorter drying cycles the laundry room in my house barely even heats up. This will be real nice in the summer when it gets to be over 100 degrees here in Atlanta. And for the price $798 complete with tax for the pair "BLACK FRIDAY SALE" you cant go wrong!

Good looking great size and but is not very efficient as the wash cycle takes very long time but I don't mind it considering its quiet and energy star. Home depot did a great job scheduling and delivering the product. Amana is same as whirlpool so great for first time home buyers.

Great Value
5 Star Review   By BrianGC on Home Depot - Dec 13, 2010

I give it 5 stars, because of the overall value. It is good size (not huge), very quiet and simple to use. There are definitely higher-end models that are much nicer, but were out of my price range. The spin cycle works great. The majority of the water is spun out, and the dryer time is dramatically shortened. This is my first front load washer, and I am extremely happy. I thought my price point was going to constrain me to a top load, so this is a great alternative. The unit fits in the same space as the old top load. I have not had any problems with clothes not getting clean, or anything else to mention.

My top loader washer died on Thanksgiving. I ordered this on a Black Friday/Thanksgiving appliance sale. Took a week for it to be delivered, unfortunately. But, works great and gets the stains out! Only downside is that a load takes 1 hr 15 min. This is typical for other front loader washers though.

5 Star Review   By janiemags on Home Depot - Dec 11, 2010

Being European, I prefer a front loader as that is what I am used to and I believe they wash better than top loaders. I got this product on sale and think it is great value for money. It cleans the clothes well, is quiet when running, looks attractive and has enough choices of wash cycle for my needs.

Dream Washer
5 Star Review   By Contentedcustomer on Home Depot - Dec 7, 2010

Trust me....for me to take the time to actually post a review, rather than just think about it....this washer must be fantastic, and it truly is just that. The purchase experience was actually fun, with our salesperson very helpful and not pushing us towards one model over another. The delivery was prompt and the installation quick and easy. This washer is very very quiet, easy to operate and exceptionally gentle on the clothes while still getting them super clean. Yes, the wash cycle is a bit longer than I expected, but I would rather have that than a washer that was fast and harsh on our clothes. We have found this washer to be very energy efficient. We also purchased the coordinating dryer and together they truly are a dream team!

Great washer at a great price!
5 Star Review   By Gator77 on Home Depot - Dec 5, 2010

I received my washer/dryer pair yesterday. My earlier unit was an 8 yr old kenmore topload unit so this was a pleasant upgrade for me. I was super impressed by the guys that delivered and installed the W/D. Our space was kind of constrained (exactly fits the W/D side-to-side).. so after the washer was setup, installing the dryer and connecting the exhaust required a lot of finesse, skill and contortion ability! We also had a minor plumbing issue and the guys took care of it. I would never have been able to setup this by myself. Thanks HomeDepot for your free delivery and Install program. I did not get the pedestals, and I think it is at a decent height even without it. If you dont mind the slight bending, there is no need to spend money on pedestals. I love how it is fully electronic .. just put your clothes in, load the detergent (HE only) in its cubby hole and start.. thats it. This unit does not have the steam feature or other high-end stuff.. I dont think I would ever use any of those anyway. but it gets the job done, saves a ton of water and electricty, and wont break the bank. Takes about an hour to wash and about 40 mins to dry the load (normal setting). It is quite noiseless with the door closed and I did not have any issues with balancing etc. and yes, please remember to leave the washer door ajar to prevent mildew. All in all, I am very satisfied with my purchase.

High Tech Machine
5 Star Review   Home Depot

This high efficiency washer has impressed me ever since the first wash. Its sequence has had much consideration in its design. Watching it work, you then understand why it is highly efficient. The spin cycle leaves the clothes with very little moisture in them. Consequently, the energy used in drying the clothes has been minimized. I am very happy with this washer. The capacity is pretty good. I actually look forward to doing the wash.

4 Star Review   By brendini2010 on Home Depot - Nov 27, 2010

I recently assisted in remodeling a new home and my clients had this washer that they recently purchased from Home Depot; I was so impressed with their savings and the superior way that their wash machine got out stains that mine never did that I'm buying one this week! I buy a lot of products from home depot, mostly building materials, and not much impresses me, but this washer totally impressed me and I'd recommend it to anyone.

So far so good.
4 Star Review   By ronibologna on Home Depot - Nov 24, 2010

This was just delivered today, but the installation was super easy. The only problem is that the delivery guys didn't level the washer before they stacked the set, so things are a little wobbly. Otherwise, it runs quietly. The only downside is the LOOOOOOOOONG cycles. 1hr 20min for a normal wash. Didn't even think about that before buying. We paid for the extended warranty which covers EVERYTHING for the next 5 years. Not worried about anything breaking down.

Love my Amana
4 Star Review   By dimaez on Home Depot - Nov 11, 2010

This is the first front load washer that we have purchased. After owning our Amana for 6 months now, we are very pleased. It cleans as well, if not better than any of our top load washers, I use the quick wash setting, along with heavy to medium soild setting which is about 40 minutes total. Clothes come out perfectly clean! I've never left any items in pockets, so I haven't experienced any problems with drain getting plugged. Although I will be even more careful since reading other reveiw. It also has cut my dryer time in half. I'm now looking to purchase the matching dryer since they are on sale.

FAULTY DESIGN FLAW IN DRAIN/PUMP
1 Star Review   By sagoffin on Home Depot - Nov 4, 2010

If anything is left in your pockets prior to washing, change, hair clips, little gadgets etc, they will get stuck in the water pump and jam it. During this time, the washer will not drain, the door remains locked with clothes inside until it is corrected. After having the repair shop come out the first time which took 4 days and the water was quite ripe by then, I have done it myself the last two times. Basically, you tote the HEAVY water filled washer outside, unhook the drain hose and let it drain, remove the water pump and you will see the object inside which is jamming it. Remove the object, replace pump, hose etc and problem is fixed. You would think that for the money there would be a trap or screen to prevent these items from getting through the drain hose to the water pump to begin with. Personally, I have not been very impressed with the front loader washer at all. Other than saving water, there have been no other positives. Due to it using less water, it does not sufficiently clean or remove soiled items thus leaving behind a stench and requiring a 2nd wash. I use the extended cycle of 75 minutes for just about everything but heavily soiled items require a 2nd wash with extra rince.

Love It!
5 Star Review   By rioritafr on Home Depot - Oct 4, 2010

Love this machine, works great! Have to get used to different sounds, when it's washing, quite interesting!!. Uses less soap!! Worked in a commercial laundry that had front loaders and used less than stated on the bottle according to the boss, too much soap ruins them. Fresh and clean, stains removed, wonderful machine, I am moving and can't take it with me to the trailer, hate to see it go.................make sure you leave door open for it to air out.Had no problems with stains, etc.,just don't overload. Takes a little getting used too, but, if you err on the side of caution, you will love it. I've lowered my electricity, water and soap bills. Even an extra spin cycle when needed, helps clothes dry much faster. Would certainly buy again!!

4 Star Review   By SpinCycle on Home Depot - Aug 2, 2010

I am shopping for a pair of these after using my friends. At first, I didn't believe it could clean my white clothes aswell as my top loader due to the lack of a soak feature, but I was pleased with the wash results, and really impressed with the level of refinement and quality apparent in this product. The quietness in its operation is top notch. This washer and dryer pair have been used approximately 3x per week for the previous year with remarkable reliabily.
