Three years later, machine is a goner!
2 Star Review   By uksuzie on Home Depot - Jun 17, 2013

I really expected this machine to last longer. It worked fine for about 6 months, then we had four different repair men out. The sensor was broken, no the motor was shot, no it wasn't level, and finally, the computer board was bad. It took weeks to get it working again and it worked great until this week. It is all starting over again but of course is out of warranty, I refused to extend the warranty a second time because I knew this machine isn't worth the money. I'm giving up and getting a different brand. You really get what you pay for, and the low price is ok but be warned, it's not a long term machine. Shame because it still looks lovely and washes great, sometimes.

Dependable, priced right!
4 Star Review   By KSLibertyBelle on Home Depot - Jun 15, 2013

Needed to replace a GE Profile that only lasted about five years. I was looking for something dependable, but affordable...and the reviews were great on this particular washing machine. I love that it is super quiet, not complicated to use, and it really gets our clothes clean. I don't like the fact that the lid locks after you start the load. The water won't start running until the lid is down and locked and I can no longer rinse out my detergent and fabric softner cups in the running water. You can pause the wash and open the lid, but the water stops running. I wish there was a way to disable that feature, it's annoying...especially when you just want to add a few items of clothing to the load.

This machine is the worst product I have ever bought.
1 Star Review   By JJCD on Home Depot - Jun 13, 2013

I bought this washer less than 2 years ago and it is the biggest disappointment. The automatic load sensor never puts enough water, so half the clothes don't even get wet. The clothes come out with stains that were not there before I put them in to be washed. Lastly, the washer smells terrible and using Tide washer cleaner does not help. I am so disappointed in Maytag for selling such a poor product.

5 Star Review   By washingmom on Home Depot - Jun 12, 2013

After a month, I'm happy with this washing machine. It replaced another Maytag that was 22 years old, so I'm getting used to the high efficiency thing. It makes a little noise, although I'm not usually in the laundry room to hear it, and I think all of the new machines make these noises.

Tree Huggers Delight
1 Star Review   By Greyhound on Home Depot - Jun 11, 2013

Machine takes first 10 minutes of washing cycle to decide how much water it will allow for your wash. If inadequate, you have no ability to add more. Must wait till water level decided, stop wash cycle, to add detergent in order to avoid to much detergent. No perm press cycle for dress shirts, must use "casual" cycle. Machine so efficient in water use you must waste a whole cycle to wash the machine to avoid odor. Give me a break. This machine must have been designed by a male tree hugger who likes to wash his T-shirts in a creek out in the woods. I really hate my wash days now.

Product is great - works as described, and relatively quiet.
4 Star Review   By hopefulm on Home Depot - Jun 3, 2013

Product works as described - have been happy with use so far. Only improvement I would suggest is a change to the start button. Currently it is a rubberized "push-in" button and mine has slipped from it's original spot upon first use. Doesn't stop it from working, just a mild annoyance. if not for that, would give it 5 stars

Very noisy
3 Star Review   Home Depot

This washer is very noisy when it goes through the cycles. They needed to put more sound deadening in it. I do like the tub. I'm short and always have a problem getting the clothing that are stuck on the back of the tub. You can move this tub and bring the clothes in the back to the front.

4 Star Review   By LJJN on Home Depot - May 9, 2013

I owned a Maytag washer/dryer pair before this purchase. Those machines lasted 30 years. So I was very interested in keeping with the dependable quality of Maytag. For this washer, I like the large load capacity and energy efficiency. What I don't like is how long it takes to fill with water and it is very noisy. I am getting used to it and look forward to 30 years with this pair.

Excellent Washer
5 Star Review   By Timmy on Home Depot - May 7, 2013

This washer is smart and highly efficient. It is commercial grade and should last twice as long as a normal washer. Easy to use and a lot of features. Good value and overall, a great product. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Still early, but so far...
4 Star Review   By Rlee on Home Depot - May 7, 2013

The washer is still new and fresh, but so far so good. Very differnet from my old washer that died after only 8 years used once a week. It does make different noises, but nothing bad. It's quick and hold a lot of stuff. I really think they should ask you about your purchase 6 - 12 months after - not 30 days. We did wash a down comforter the other day (queen) with no problem. Overall, I like the washer. The store personnel were very helpful on the purchase, too.

Item works, delivered promptly, cleans clothes
3 Star Review   By curt2sue on Home Depot - Apr 2, 2013

Its difficult to evaluate this product since its only been 30 days or so. Its a washing machine and it washes clothes. This review should be completed after 190 days of use (or more). I've had no problems. It cleans the clothes. I don't like the fact that it locks and you have to "unlock" it in order to watch the clothes or add more clothes. I would prefer my old agitator washer but nothing lasts forever. the delivery person did not appear confident that this washer would last 23 years like my old washer. Never-the-less it was delivered in good condition, it works, and my old laundry soap does work in this HE washer. I use less. I like the bleach dispenser and the fact that it does have the option for another rinse cycle. While it does make lots of clicking noises it does not annoy anyone. It does not appear to shake as some other reviews indicate. Overall its ok.

saving money in long run takes time
4 Star Review   By uj50 on Home Depot - Mar 28, 2013

Read guide before using washer! This is a energy saving marvel, sensors that use less water (intellifill) for the first 5 to 10 min just to find the water level for the load you have assigned it. Different sounds is an understatement, this washer has so many sensors I wonder how long they will last? That being said, it is slow 60 min to wash small dog banket on heavy cycle.40min normal wash cycle but the end result is great. Spins out almost all the water, which lowers dry time by 20 to 30 min. Save your money on front load twice as much as this machine, but dont be in a hurry!

Hate one issue on this washer
3 Star Review   By Zombee2011 on Home Depot - Mar 26, 2013

We got this Maytag Centennial washing machine because of the good reputation of the company, however we are experiencing a really bothersome bad issue after the washing machine has finished it's load. Our clothes are soaking wet when we take them out of the washer and we have to manually wring every garment before we have to put them inside the dryer. I really cannot understand why this is happening. We got this machine a week ago this Thursday, and it's already giving us a headache. The other features work just fine, and it isn't too noisy but the excessive water on the clothing after its done its cycles is what we are not happy about. I hope they can fix the problem so we can be satisfied Maytag owners.

This product needs to be improved.
2 Star Review   By rg2013 on Home Depot - Mar 21, 2013

I do not like the sensing feature and the lid lock feature on this product. The lid lock feature prevents me from opening the lid to see how much water is in the drum or adding color safe bleach, etc, after the wash cycle begins. You also have to add detergent before the clothes are put in the washer.

Excellent machine
5 Star Review   By Donita on Home Depot - Mar 17, 2013

Love it love it love it! I got used to the changes and I really love my new washer. The only thing I would change is the location of the fabric softener dispenser. Didn't care much at the beginning for the locked door, but it came very useful when I caught my husband trying to put diferent color clothes in the washer! ha! Also the spin get rid off most water so it is a breeze to dry the clothes in no time at all. Very good machine for the money.

A high quality energy efficient machine
5 Star Review   By Roberta on Home Depot - Feb 20, 2013

My only concerns are that clothes are very wrinkled after spin dry, and there's no way to re-adjust detergent levels after the lid is locked (for example, on a small delicate load of clothes).

Hate it!
1 Star Review   By Peter on Home Depot - Feb 19, 2013

How we hate this washer. Its noisy, especially when it switches into spin mode, bangs... when u add a garment and open the lid it reverts back to filling all the way to the top, this is what we hate the most. Its not a water saver by any means.

Happy with the new Maytag set, so far
5 Star Review   By Holly on Home Depot - Feb 4, 2013

We replaced a 34 yr old Maytag washer that finally broke down after constant service. We went ahead and got the washer MVWC350AW and Maytag electric dryer MEDC300XV too, even though the old Maytag dryer still had some life left in it. We were very skeptical at first, especially after looking at the reviews. We read the instructions and have had absolutely no problems at all so far, having the machines for 6 weeks. The features on the new machines far surpass the old ones, and we especially like the energy saving features. The clothes come out of the dryer less wrinkled than we ever had before. Just make sure that when the units are delivered to your home they do not get bumped on the way in. Ours did and we had to wait a few additional days to get our perfect set after we rejected the first. We get a lot of compliments on how nice they look and actually some folks are quite envious! We saved a lot of $ buying from Home Depot. I can't wait to track how much cheaper our water and electric bills will be.

Excellent product
5 Star Review   By JohnfromSchenectady on Home Depot - Jan 29, 2013

Like others, I was hesitant to buy this Maytag because of its mixed ratings. I'm glad I joined the "Tide" of happy purchasers. Is this machine different from the other two Maytags (20 years, 13 years) we had? Yes. But my wife is very happy with the new machine's performance. I wash a fair amount of clothes and I like it too. You DO need to read the instructions. This machine washes clothes differently. First, roll up the clothes as directed before putting them in the machine. Buy HP detergent ONLY. Don't use too much. Give away your detergent leftovers from the old machine. We love the second rinse and other premium features. It does take longer to run a load, but that is OK with us. This review is based on 20 loads of all types of clothing. PLUS Home Depot free delivery and takeaway is the BEST.

Water efficient, but...
2 Star Review   By 1355C on Home Depot - Jan 28, 2013

A clothes washer has one primary function - to effectively launder clothes, and this washer does not perform that function well. Some items in each load don't even get completely wet and often come out with residue despite how little detergent we add.

What I Expected
5 Star Review   By Mark on Home Depot - Jan 26, 2013

Bought the Maytag Centennial pair to replace a 12 year old Whirlpool set. It is different than traditional sets making comparatively unusual noises. Reading the use and care guide is mandatory for those making the transition from an older set. However, after washing ten loads yesterday, and following the guide using HE detergent, I found that the washer performs very well!

PGP Pretty Good Product
4 Star Review   By BA007 on Home Depot - Jan 22, 2013

I would have to say that the inside looks great, but seems a little flimsy. You will notice increased efficiency compared to older models. This model costs about $15.00 to operate per year based on eight loads a week. $10.00 if using a gas hot water heater. The features are pretty good, but not the best out there. Overall, I feel that you will be very satisfied with this product and I would recommend it to anyone purchasing from the Home Depot.

Excellent machine for the price we paid
5 Star Review   By FrogElixir on Home Depot - Jan 22, 2013

Read a lot of reviews here before buying, but we needed to pull the trigger on something because we were out a washer and clothes were piling up. Just trust the good reviews that urge you to read the instructions. This is an HE machine, not a run of the mill washer your mom had. It makes lots of noises (not loud) that newbies may not recognize. It takes longer to start because it is measuring how much water it thinks it needs for the load. It will vibrate and make noise if you don't level it. RTFM and you should be fine. We'd done lots of loads so far, one massively dirty one from clothes from a week's worth of room demo and they came clean just fine.

Good size washer! No issue with extra large loads so far. I like the sensor feature it has for amount of water used.....but a little worried for later down the road if "sensor" happens to break. Noisy but I'm ok with that since it's in the garage.

5 Star Review   Home Depot

I love this washer. The two washers that I owned previously had numerous issues and they were $400.00 more than this one. I wanted something that would be able to handle day to day washing with a family of 4 but not have issues all of the time because of all of the bells and whistles, This is a perfect washer so far. It is exactly what I expected it to be and more. Love that it can handle blankets and sheets as well.

Durable and efficient
5 Star Review   By andrea383 on Home Depot - Jan 13, 2013

Our washer was ruined as a result of Hurricane Sandy (we only had it for 8 months at the time of the storm) and we decided to purchase the same model as a replacement. We are very pleased with this appliance. When I put in my first load, I expected the "whoosh" sound of incoming water, like in my old washer. You don't hear that sound with this model; don't be alarmed. This appliance gets the job done and seems to be efficient. From the limited time I've had it, I would recommend it.

Broke 2 months after warranty ran out
2 Star Review   By DIYmom88 on Home Depot - Jan 9, 2013

We bought this washer 14 months ago, overall it worked well enough to begin with, though it was never great with stains. The lid lock was annoying but most have them now especially high speed washers. But then that stupid load sensing messed up on it, and it would sense the load and then stop and unlock the lid and then it would lock again and sense the load again, it would do this a few times, it would eventually start and wash cloths like it was supposed to, it was mostly just annoying since our clothes still got washed, so we didn't bother fixing it. Now about a week ago it started make a lot of racket, and it would fill only halfway with water and wash but not drain or spin, so not only was it not getting all the clothes washed, they weren't being drained and spun-out as well. We called Maytag up, we knew we were out of warranty, so we knew we'd have to pay to get it fixed, but they said they would not fix it unless we bought another 1 yr warranty and that was going to cost 300-400, which is ridiculous since you can buy an whole new washer for that, I was very disappointed in them and will not be buying another maytag for that reason alone. It's almost like they make them to break just after warranty so you'll pay a lot to renew the warranty or just buy a whole new washer every year. What happened to washers lasting 10 yrs. Nobody in there right mind wants to buy a new washer ever year. We had a local repairman fix the drain and spin problem for 60, a bolt had come loose and the belt came off based on bad design flaw, a common problem with similar washers. But it's still only going to fill-up only halfway because of the sensor, which can't simply be reset since its a software problem in the factory programming and it would be super expensive to fix, also another common problem. We got this washer because it was simple but now I want one even more basic, one that does the water level based on what the nob is turned to, not based on sensing the load size, with no annoying lid lock. I just want it to fill up with water, wash, rinse and spin out, that's it.

4 Star Review   By BigGene on Home Depot - Dec 28, 2012

This washer replaced 20 year old Maytag. New washer is much quieter than old machine. Does make some different sounds (clicks) but overall washing, spinning it is QUIET. It appears to use a LOT LESS water and detergents than previous machine. Delivery and setup by Home Depot was excellent, on time gave complete checkout before leaving.

Dead in less than 18 months
1 Star Review   By jkhawk10 on Home Depot - Dec 28, 2012

Purchased washer and dryer new in July 2011 to replace a 15 year old set. 14 months later the washer started making a terrible grinding/scraping noise during the spin cycle. Appliance repairman said the transmission was going out and it would cost more to fix it than what I paid for the washer. When I purchased this last year the reviews were great and now I see lots of 1 star ratings. Boo, Maytag!

Worked great for the first 3 loads of wash, however, now the lid locking feature is broken. I have had this machine only for 3 days, so I will be returning it for a refund. Ive tried about 10 times to restart the machine, and after a few minutes it stops because it states the the lid is not locked.

horrible piece of junk
1 Star Review   By happyfeet on Home Depot - Dec 7, 2012

I don't know if this one was just an unfortunate lemon, but purchased in 2011, broken down every 2 months - the same breakdown, fills up and does not spin dry. I had to bail out soapy water, wring heavy towels and jeans by hand, wait weeks for parts and weeks for service man to return, only to break down and repeat. you will be sorry. avoid this one, unless you like Stress.

Absolute Piece of JUNK!!
1 Star Review   Home Depot

I notice Home Depot has removed all the old reviews on this machine and started over with reviews from 2012. I bought this machine from them last year. The first one did not work. They replaced it with the one I have now, and I can honestly say, it was the absolute WORST waste of money!! No matter how well you follow directions...no matter how nicely you spread out the clothes and layer them...you are still going to end up having to re-run the washer at least half the time or more. Most of the time, the clothes does not even get completely wet. I've already been overlooking that because at least that's better than when I have to re-run the entire load again because it did not wash and/or rinse and ring out. How are you really saving any money with this machine when you have to re-run the load sometimes 3 times to get half-way clean clothes?? This machine is a joke. I am single, so no gigantic crazy loads. In fact, most of the time, I try to run smaller loads as they seem to be the only way to get the entire load wet! And it is STILL a piece of junk! DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE if you want clean clothes and a small electric/water bill. This is the nastiest machine Maytag has ever come out with. PS - Not even a year later, and two of the buttons I barely ever touch on this machine ARE ALREADY BROKEN! Absolute JUNK!!!

great features easy to run

Energy saver. The feature I like the most is the automatic water level it uses according to the amount of the load.

Nice, quiet washer. Clothes come out almost dry, very efficient spin cycle.

Great washer, would recommend to everyone. Washer arrived on time, it was installed and the old one hauled away. Great service.

The product really was not what Matag usually is
3 Star Review   By notgood12 on Home Depot - Nov 13, 2012

This is the loudest machine I have ever owned. It shakes when it spins, It makes a loud noise throughout the entire cycle. My last Maytag was 10 years old and was wonderful and made no noise at all. I thought this machine would be at least as good if not better. Do not recommend it at all! I wanted to stay with Maytag, now I regreat it! Wish I had spent the money on a machine which I would like for the next 10 years.

Love this washer!
5 Star Review   By jojon1 on Home Depot - Nov 4, 2012

Great washer; love all the many features. One of the best features is that it spins the clothes so dry it cuts the drying time by 1/3. It is a little noisy but I gladly trade quiet for very clean clothes.

not very quiet
3 Star Review   By singledad on Home Depot - Oct 31, 2012

everything works as advertised but is considerably noisier and vibrates much more than a 10 yr old kenmore it replaced even after the extra expense and a trip to buy the anti-vibration feet from HD for $30.

Great Price Great Product
5 Star Review   By Rhonakaye on Home Depot - Oct 30, 2012

I was nervous at first because the water sprays out different than other machines but after reading the instructions it explained it. I love this machine, thank you.

I got a lot of features for the price.
5 Star Review   By Plano6 on Home Depot - Oct 30, 2012

I have had this for a month. And it runs fairly quiet, different than old one, but ok. Clothes is clean, it is saving water, and I love the dispensers for fabric softener, bleach, and the huge wash drum. It holds more clothes, and I love it!!! Great deal, great washer, it is working well for a family of 6.

have only had the machine for a week but so far works great. and it states that it should only cost 15.00 a year to run.
5 Star Review   By mjdiamonds on Home Depot - Oct 19, 2012

so far so good. the only thing is that on normal wash heavy it takes 1hour and 10 minutes to do a full load more that my old whirlpool standard washer. cloths are clean and my husband does construction and gets very dirty and uses half the soap. very quiet can barely tell it is running had to check on it at first.

This machine is LOUD!
4 Star Review   By Dean on Home Depot - Sep 27, 2012

Great features, energy efficient and washes clothes well, but it is a LOUD machine and makes weird noises. I have mine upstairs by the kitchen and it resonates through the entire house. If you have this downstairs in basement in a room with a door, you might be fine.

A unusable machine
1 Star Review   By doevans on Home Depot - Sep 20, 2012

Hard to rate a machine that you can barely use. Only had for 2 months (1month trying to limp along for repair until it completely quit. Because Maytags service is so poor, we finally requested a new machine. We hooked it up, didn't even get one load out of it until it quit. They need to paint these units yellow!

Good entry machine for energy savings
5 Star Review   By JFCisme on Home Depot - Sep 18, 2012

I've done 4 loads thus far. Machine works as advertised and clothes come out dryer than previous machine could do. I like the start button--no knob turning each time, settings stay the same. If figures out the water needed. Runs quiet with minimal vibrations. I'm a single guy and don't do laundry everyday--last machine lasted over 10 years, hoping this one lasts as long.
