5 Star Review   By DeRiSsA on Home Depot - Dec 2, 2011

We bought this washer almost a year ago and it is fabulous. It's very quite and easy to use. The tub is HUGE and always impresses guests. The cleaner distribution compartments are so easy and our clothes always come out clean and detergent free even with powder. I love that it has a countdown timer and alarm when it's done. It is better than any washer I have ever seen or used. This top loader not only looks great but it works great. I def recommend it.

5 Star Review   By Rashee on Home Depot - Nov 5, 2011

We received our washer 10/22/11 and used it on the same day. The delivery gentlemen set in up in less than 10 minutes It's wonderful. The washing basket is huge, in comparison to my former Amana washer. The soil level button allows for washing intensity. The hand wash cycle is like the gentle cycle on other washers. It dries the clothes so well that it leaves them more wrinkled than my former washer. The washer requires HE products (low suding). The washer was not noisy to me. I expect for it to make some sounds, after all it's a machine. I purchased hoses, not knowing the machine came with them. Overall, I love it!!!

Maytag washer
1 Star Review   By KMMC on Home Depot - Oct 30, 2011

Very unhappy with many things about this washer. Had a different brand. Front loader for about 7 years. It was a very good washer. Purchased this one about one year ago. If I put a large amount of clothes into it, they do not come clean. Ruins clothing. Clothes come out very wrinkled. Not happy with this machine at all.

This product is excellent.
5 Star Review   By Marie on Home Depot - Oct 22, 2011

I have done many loads of laundry and this machine has not had any problems yet. It is such a relief considering my first washer was a top of the line energy efficient front loader that needed several repairs, a new computer system and a new boot all within a year of purchase. A total lemon to say the least. I was not looking forward to buying a new washer again. With this Maytag washer the clothes come out clean, are done fast and has many nice features, like a signal for when the washer interior needs cleaning so it can be odor free. My other washer smelled very bad.

I was wary of a water efficient washer, but using less water has not effected the level of cleanliness of my cothing or bedding. Love the capacity! Sometimes my loads are bigger than I want to fold, but I like how much You can fit. I love this washer, and the matching dryer too!

5 Star Review   By HappyCustomer on Home Depot - Sep 20, 2011

Love this washer. Free delivery, set up and hauled away the old washer. It is beautiful. I have saved money and time using the washer. When people visit my home I don't cover this one up. I save time also. I make 2 trips to my washer, to put clothes in and to take them out. Wonderful I use to buy from Lowe's but no more. They have never gave me this great service. Home Depot is cheaper also.

Great
5 Star Review   By Jerry on Home Depot - Sep 13, 2011

Performs excellently. It has just the right amount of bells and whistles. Looks great, even though it does not come in all the sports car paint colors and looks like a standard washer, actually nicer, but no extra cost of pedestal.

awesome washing machine
5 Star Review   By scott on Home Depot - Sep 12, 2011

this washer get clothes very clean. my girlfriend and i do 2-3 loads per day. was a little hesitant on going with the HE washer at first cause we were not sure of having a washer with out an agitator and were a little worried about paying more for the detergent. after 2 months of using this machine no regrets buying it. uses much less water and detergent to get cleaner clothes.the bulky cycle really does work great with sleeping bags and comforters. one other thing take the time to read the user manual and always use the affresh when the light comes on it works great.

Great capacity for a top loader
4 Star Review   By Sam72 on Home Depot - Sep 6, 2011

I really enjoy the features and the capacity of this washer. I can do twice as much laundry at once. This type of bottom agitator does leave your clothes wrinkled, even after drying. I had read this feedback online when researching the model, and it is true. I still like the washer though.

A surprise! New is Better than Old.
5 Star Review   By Jerry on Home Depot - Sep 2, 2011

We began replacing all of our appliances about ten years ago, in preparation for retirement. That didn't work. Appliances have begun wearing out. When we began shopping for a new washer, we were shocked to find that they all have changed. We read review after review with people complaining about lids locking, not getting clothes clean (not even wet), running a long time, etc. But we had no choice. Every brand seemed to have the same new and unwanted features. And since we are nearing a move to a retirement community, we surely did not want to buy a new washer. But we did. Simply due to past good experiences we bought Maytag. My wife was almost afraid to begin that first load of laundry. Let us tell you. We are thrilled! We simply cannot understand the negative comments. We can add a forgotten garment despite what some say. The running time for a load seems shorter than with the old washer. And clothes are coming clean, better than with the old unit. My wife removes makeup with a small wash cloth. She says that she had to treat those cloths prior to washing with the old washer. With the new one, she just throws the wash cloth in, and it comes out clean, not even a slight trace of the makeup. When working around the house I wear jumpsuits, and believe me, they get dirty and sweat soaked. With the old washer, I'd run them through two cycles and add Borax and sometimes a bit of Simple Green. They still never got really clean. I do none of that now, and they come out clean in one cycle. One thing that we would suggest. Don't do what we did. If you can manage to do it, buy both the washer and dryer. When Home Depot delivered the washer, we realized immediately that we should have bought the dryer too, so they delivered it a couple of days later. It was as old as the old washer anyway. And on both deliveries, the Home Depot service was top notch, friendly, courteous, patient while my wife mopped the floor under the old appliances. And they were careful with the appliances and our house.

A solid well-built washer and good value.
5 Star Review   By Mike on Home Depot - Aug 27, 2011

We like the electronic touch pad controls. There's no agitator in the tub, which looked odd at first, but it actually makes loading and unloading easier. The clothes come out nice and clean.

Great Purchase
5 Star Review   By WashALot on Home Depot - Aug 26, 2011

We replaced a 10 year old Maytag Neptune front loader with this model in December 2010. After 8 months of use, I can say it was an excellent decision. This top loader has the efficiency of a front loader without the pain of bending over, struggling with loads OR the expense of getting pedestals to try to make the front loader easier to access. It costs less than a front loader of similar quality/features. This unit is quiet, energy and water efficient, does a great job of cleaning, stable (doesn't scoot across the floor). The only thing I've noticed is that the top spin cycle (you can select the spin cycle), leaves items spun into a tightly wrinkled form. I give them a shake prior to tossing them into the dryer to eliminate serious wrinkling after being dried. They're spun well enough that minimal drying time is required. Obviously, I could select a lesser spin cycle but that may require more drying time...and clothes dryers are very expensive to operate (on par with central air conditioning!). I would definitely recommend this washer and would choose the same one if I had to do it over again!

DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER
1 Star Review   By A1234 on Home Depot - Aug 24, 2011

I bought the BRAVO washer and dryer in 2009. The dryer's "computer board" broke in 2010, under warranty and they replaced it, now the washer is dead(computer issue again). I just paid a Maytag repair man $200 to tell me that he can fix it for $529, we paid $499 for it, so you do the math. No apologies from Maytag customer service either. These machines are not built to last, do not buy them.

LOVE IT!
5 Star Review   By desparado72 on Home Depot - Aug 7, 2011

My old washer was a 3.1 CU and this was such a step up! LOVE it! Clothes are much drier when coming out of the washer to be dried that it doesn't take nearly as long to dry as my old washer. Uses much less soap and clothes are coming out cleaner. Highly recommend!! The installers from Home Depot were polite and very nice. Very, very happy with this product.

After a month - Love it!
5 Star Review   By PourPete on Home Depot - Jul 28, 2011

Great value for the price. Outstanding upgrade to a 20 year old washer. 3 tips: 1) Do separate fabrics. It does an amazing job of removing moisture, but towels and delicates not a good idea. 2) For fabrics that tend to wrinkle (khakis, polo shirts) you may want to try a lower spin speed (less dry but less wrinkles). 3) It may take some practice to learn how to evenly load your clothes. You can't just dump them in. This just takes a little trial and error. Not a big deal. Glad we bought this washer!

Seems like a good product. I like the fact that it is really quiet and uses less water, also nice not having the aggetator when putting clothes in and taking them out. I like that it automatically adjusts water level, it helps when my kids do their own laundry.

Great Washing Machine
5 Star Review   By moderncinderella on Home Depot - Jul 14, 2011

I bought my washer about two months and really love it. It can wash a very large load. It gets the clothes really clean and is quieter than my old washer. You must remember to shake out the clothes before putting them in the dryer to decrease the amount of wrinkling but I don't mind that, it's a reasonable trade off to using less water and wringing out more water so the dryer works less. If you use the correct settings, i.e. sheets, towels, bulky everything washes well. It has lots of options, I especially like the extra rinse for when I use bleach and it will dispense the fabric softener after the second rinse automatically.

Works well!
4 Star Review   By Sleuthgirl on Home Depot - Jul 10, 2011

I am pleased overall with the new washer, but had to go out and purchase the correct detergent (HE) to use; didn't know that in advance. Have just done 2 loads and the clothes were clean; drying time is also reduced! My only comment is that the sounds from this washer are different from others and it is bit louder. It's not a problem, but worthy of note.

Gets clothes clean
4 Star Review   By dfhjohnscreek on Home Depot - Jul 10, 2011

I spent days researching washers for my new home. I finally picked the Maytag Bravos top loader. Some of the reviews I read included beating up the clothes. This washer has many options to wash the clothes and not beat them up. I only had a problem on a pair of khaki shorts from Old Navy that were new and the washer frayed the edges of the pockets. I turned them inside out next time and no problem. I turn everything inside out to prevent wear and tear on edges. If you're clothes are not heavily soiled, use the Rapid Wash or Hand Cycle and light soiled setting and you'll be fine. As for sheets, use the sheet cycle. The machine uses a different agitation so sheets are not balled up. I haven't had the significant problems of wrinkling that others have written about. If you shake out the clothes before you put them in the dryer (which I always have anyway because they dry faster), you won't have wrinkles. My clothes are clean and for the most part wrinkle free. And the max extract spin cycle does reduce the need to run the dryer longer. I bought the companion dryer and it all works fine. Dries clothes in less than 30 minutes on med/low heat if using max extract. I would recommend the washer but you have to read the instructions!

Great machine
5 Star Review   By Phaze on Home Depot - Jul 7, 2011

I just replaced a 16 year old washer with this one. It works great. Very quiet and fast. I really like the timer function as well as "no laundry size" function. It figures it out for you as well as the amt of water to use. I love it.

Have to replace / less than 2 years old
2 Star Review   By sadcustomer on Home Depot - Jul 6, 2011

I bought the Maytag Bravos with the glass lid. Originally wanted a front loader, but decided on this one. Clothes did seem to come clean, but unless I used the hand wash cycle, clothes would get nubbins and certain things would fray or pick. Sheets and towels would end up in a huge disk shape that was heavy and hard to untangle. Large loads would usually end up unbalanced no matter how careful I was to load properly. Bottom of washer began to spray out a light mist of oil on floor and I could not finish a load with out unbalancing it about 10 times (no exaggeration). Past warranty (of course). Repair guy said the bearings were bad and it was shot and that it would be more expensive to repair than to buy a new washer. Last washer I had lasted 9 years. 1st and last Maytag.

Stay away
1 Star Review   By Maytagnomore on Home Depot - Jul 4, 2011

I bought this washer because I have owned Maytags my whole life. Big mistake. The drain pump is weak. I had to have the drain basin re-plumbed because it will not pump to the maximum height. The clothes come out twisted, and the top layer is still dirty. Huge design flaw: the agitator lets coins, hairpins, etc through to the drain pump. I have had my Bravos serviced for the last time. I am discarding a two year old washer for a new one. This is the worst washer I have ever owned over the last 25 years.

Maytag Bravos Washer

I'm very pleased with this purchase. The machine runs very quietly, can hold a lot of clothing, and really seems to get my clothes cleaner than what my old washer did.

Great washer

This was a huge upgrade from our previous washer. The spin cycle works great and really reduces the dryer time. One of the best purchases I've made. The delivery and setup was fast and easy.

my washer
1 Star Review   By asha1234 on Home Depot - Jun 16, 2011

They just don’t make things like they use to. I had regrets after having had problems with the machine stopping because it wasn’t leveled. All the clothes would gather to one side. Dark clothes came out with lint. This washer was returned. It’s not worth the money and the time or the effort of restarting. Lucky for me I was able to send it back.

Love my new washer. I can wash 2 loads at once. The spin cycle is the best. When the clothes come out they are damp so less time in the dryer! Its also very quiet and easy to use. Just push the button and go. I just love it!!

Very pleased with this purchase.
5 Star Review   By mportant2u on Home Depot - Jun 5, 2011

Previous washer and dryer were Maytag, which my Dad gave me a few years ago when he moved. They dryer stopped heating. Decided to purchase Maytag again. Just receive washer and dryer today and have already done 4-5 loads including, sheets, bedspread, towels, whites, and dark clothes. So far, I am in love! Looked at previous reviews & didn't understand the negative comments. I read through the instructions for the types of loads and everything so far has come out clean, no wrinkles, or clothes being tangled. All you do is select the type of load and the washer does everything else. It does make different sounds than the older washers, but it is very quiet. I have a small launder room that isn't far from the living room. Before I was have to turn up the volume on the TV when the washer was on, but now I don't need to. Can't wait to see if my water bill will decrease compared to the other washer.

Clean and Simple
4 Star Review   By rob712 on Home Depot - May 23, 2011

My wife and I have had only two complaints about this washing machine, and one of those has nothing to do with the machine but bears noting for those considering the purchase. One, and this has to do with our apartment, the water drains FAST, too fast for the drainage we have available when the loads are enormous. We have not been able to run a cleaning cycle because the water drains at such a rate as to be impossible for the sink our old apartment uses to drain the water to be able to accommodate. If you have a newer apartment or a home with good drainage (or a place to let the water flow out to) then this is a non-issue. Two, our clothes come out of the washer wrinkled like crazy and the dryer is not able to get all of them out. A little ironing solves the problem, but some of these clothes never required ironing before, so that is a little off-putting. Otherwise, we have enjoyed this purchase. The machine is quiet and efficient and does exactly what we want it to do: clean our clothes.

Pretty Good Washing Machine
4 Star Review   By MommyClothesWasher on Home Depot - May 2, 2011

Have used this washing machine for about 10 loads in the past 2 weeks. It's done a great job of getting clothes clean, spinning clothes virtually dry, and being a very quiet washing machine. I didn't give this washing machine 5 stars because I can't rate reliabiltiy after only 2 weeks and since it doesn't have any superior functions like time-delay start or "soak", etc. Overall, very good machine for the price (about $600).

Overall rating
2 Star Review   By judah2 on Home Depot - May 1, 2011

It tangles the clothes so bad that is is hard to hang wet clothes so that you do not have to iron. Washed my comforter and the machine will not stay level and had to untangle the comforter 4 times just to finish the load. I don't believe it takes out the stains as well as the front loader I had. I wish I had stayed with the front loader that was in my home before. Very sorry I purchased this machine. I would not recommend this machine for those reasons. You can wash large loads of jeans but then you have to untangle them. Not worth it.

FANTASTIC MACHINE
5 Star Review   By CW56 on Home Depot - Apr 30, 2011

I owned a Maytag for 11 years and decided to purchase one again==little did I know this machine would be so fantastic! It is SO QUIET and it also plays music (so funny) The idea of no agitator is wonderful!! When the machine does not sound right {making too much noise} ; you check it and the display shows a "code"-- which you look up in your manual and it explains what is wrong [this happened to me with an unbalanced load] I highly recommend Maytag and it's associated companies!

I hate it!
1 Star Review   By heathnlen on Home Depot - Apr 12, 2011

This washer is terrible. The laundry never smells clean. I used the cleaning tablets but it does not help. The washer uses very little water. With 3 runners in the family, I want lots of water to clean sweaty running clothes. I am washing them 2-3 times before they hit the dryer.... What a waste of water. This machine is the worst piece of trash. So sorry I bought it... It just smells bad all the time.... Those cleaning tablets are costly too.... and don't really work.... I fail to see how a little water can wash clothes. then doing the load over and over just drives me nuts... not to mention my electric bill.....

1 Star Review   By pjacobs on Home Depot - Mar 29, 2011

Pat at the HD in Upland is fabulous! Thank you Pat for your help, thanks to you HD is taking back this beast. Thank you Home Depot for standing by the products you sell even if Maytag wont. Maytag wont admit that they have a problem with lint and hair accumulating in this model. Although I still think overall they make a good product, this model needs a serious second look from their engineering dept. Again, Home Depot, you have an employee (Pat) that deserves the employee of the year award. Thanks Pat!!

disapointed
2 Star Review   By pepsiman on Home Depot - Mar 25, 2011

This machine is in my opinion is a good looking machine. Works very quietly and smooth when compared to my other machine. I have serious regrets with buying this machine though, It uses too little water so the clothes never really smell clean. I do my best with towels in the dryer. Also for bulky things (comforters) the machine goes out of balace too easily. I had to shift one comforter at least 5 times once. I really wish I had bought an old fashion type washer. By the way i've had the machine since 10/2010.

Great product
5 Star Review   By RWilly on Home Depot - Feb 23, 2011

We owned a Neptune and were affraid to by another Maytag product. However, we did our research and this machine was rated very high with no mechanical issues identified. We've had our machine for two weeks and so far so good. I'm hoping they changed the way the door lock works (the old 'wax' based lock always failed on the Neptune).

Installation a Dream
5 Star Review   By happychappie on Home Depot - Feb 22, 2011

Just had this machine installed. We were pleasantly surprised at how fabulous the installation went. HD called to confirm the delivery & stated a 4 hr window then on day of delivery they called to let us know they were on the way & would arrive w/in 30 mins. 10 min later, there they were! A far cry from other contractors that have you take off a full day because their window is 8am-6pm! These guys were quick, clean & very polite. One thing is HD says you need to order additional hoses - not true, called Maytag & confirmed - the nessessary hoses are included (see product specification). Have loads of laundry since my old 27 yr Maytag bite the dust last week so will return to update reviiew on performance. The drum is nice & big.

Great Machine!
5 Star Review   By Spartan101 on Home Depot - Feb 20, 2011

Excellent washing machine. We purchase a front loading Frigidaire Affinity washer 2 years ago...what a waste! I researched this Maytag washer in Consumer Report and with various other consumer reviews and decided on the Maytag Bravo - we were not disappointed. It does a great job on delicate items to bulky items - love the auto balancing feature. Would highly recommend to washer!

Maytag Bravos Washer
5 Star Review   By pduane1234 on Home Depot - Feb 19, 2011

This has to be the quiest washer I've ever seen or not heard. You cannot hear it during the wash or spin cycle. It cleans my quilts and comforters cleaner than they have ever been cleaned. I was skeptical at first because there is no center agitation device. No worries - this washer is by far the best machine for cleaning ability and price paid. A great value for the money and an all-around exceptional washer.

Very Disappointed!
1 Star Review   By pjacobs on Home Depot - Feb 18, 2011

Do Not purchase this machine! After a month I've given up. It leaves lint and hair on everything. I hang dry my dark clothes so as not to fade or shrink them in the dryer. Maytag say's I must put them in the dryer to get rid of the lint and hair, that's not an option! Bulky items like blankets either come out very twisted or like a mushroom cap covering the top. Everything is wrinkled no matter what cycle I use. If you wash delicates, forget it! It's going back!

Great washer for a family
5 Star Review   By momto3busyboys on Home Depot - Feb 16, 2011

I wanted to wait to write the review until I actually used the washer for a month or so. I am happy to say that I still LOVE my new washer. There is so much space- even when I think i have a huge load there is still room for more. It's fairly quiet (although it's in the basement and doesn't really affect us) and our clothes have been very clean. I like the different settings and it is very simple to use. I ordered on the website because it was $250 cheaper on Home Depots website than in the store- unbelievable and still got free shipping, installation and free take away of old appliance. This is a great washer so far ---very pleased. Much better than my front loader I had prior to this machine.

Family of 8 washed 90 loads of clothes in 6 weeks.
4 Star Review   By NurseAnn6 on Home Depot - Feb 16, 2011

We researched for a new washer for 3 weeks, before picking this one. It was ordered Jan. 3 & three days later our 8 year old GE quit. I called Home Depot to ask about moving up our delivery date from 18th. They were great & accommodating. Got the washer earlier & I love it. In 6 weeks our family of 8 has washed 90 loads of laundry. We all laugh that it sounds like a little jet engine taking off. Little freaked out when I opened the lid & saw a “flying saucer” made of sheets. We have a well & spring, so water was not an issue. Electric bill did decrease. I like all the cycles & that you put detergent, fabric softener & bleach all in advance for care-free washing. I love the timer. It allows me to prepare the next load. I am not thrilled about the “lid locking” feature.

5 Star Review   By zazap on Home Depot - Feb 5, 2011

We have only had this machine for one week. We have washed several loads of laundry. Everything has come out clean and smelling fresh. I have not had any problems with wrinkles after washing and drying. We already had metal hoses for the new washing machine --so we didn't buy another set. The delivery men insisted on removing them and installing the washer with the rubber hoses that came with it. Annoying...but not the end of the world to unhook them and put the metal ones back on. Delivery service was adequate, but not impressive.

A high powered high tech machine
5 Star Review   By tn1653 on Home Depot - Feb 2, 2011

I read a lot of reviews of this washer before I went ahead and made my purchase. Honestly, I don't understand the negative reviews. I've had this for about a month and have used every type of wash cycle possible. I override many of the spin cycles and customize to spin on low or medium spin. Jeans come out great on the low spin. Whites are whiter than my last machine- no problems with unbalanced cycle, etc. READ the manual! You have to take the extra minute and place the clothes in the washer as explained in the manual- depending on what you're washing. This is how the washer senses how much water is needed. I've yet to have a problem with clothes coming out partially dry as some of the other reviewers mentioned. Some people complain about the noise. Mine whispers! I think one advantage I have is that the machine is in the basement on a concrete floor. I can imagine that being upstairs on a wooden floor, etc. might make the machine less sturdy- I don't know. Lastly, I just got my water bill and it's $30 less than my last one.

Extra large capacity awesome
4 Star Review   By Just1L on Home Depot - Jan 23, 2011

I've read lots of reviews and people comment about the auto sensor water level, but it doesn't bother me. I relied on consumer report reviews to purchase this washer and it was rated very high. Some little or a lot of water makes no difference to me it does a great job washing all types of clothing. They do come out quite wrinkled, but I shake the items out and toss in the dryer and they look fresh as can be when done. I absolutely love the large capacity. I can get all of our laundry done in no time at all.

The best I have ever owned
5 Star Review   By TerryATL on Home Depot - Jan 23, 2011

I bought the washer/dryer pair. It is the most wonderful appliance I have ever owned. I found out from several people that the price has dropped since last year & 10% off so I was happier. Free delivery & set up was even better. I can fill the huge washer basket with what would take 2 or more loads on my old washer. (We use a lot of towels because my husband gets so dirty in his construction jobs) The no agitator feature makes this possible. It uses much less detergent with the HE detergent & much less water which is wonderful. Our water pressure is not good so the fact that it weighs your clothes & only uses the water needed is the one reason I bought it. I only use the Heavy Duty cycle for my husbands work jeans or if I need to wash a floor rug. It REALLY spins on Heavy Duty so don't put regular shirts or clothes on this cycle. You will never get the wrinkles out. Heavy Duty means Heavy Duty. I love all the cycles & that you put detergent, fabric softner & bleach all in advance for care-free washing. The salesperson took a lot of time talking to me with no pressure to buy & the delivery men was so nice & friendly also. .

Love my machine
5 Star Review   By LindaMarie on Home Depot - Jan 22, 2011

This is my first new washing machine ever. I like its modern features and numerous options. The handwashing cycle is especially nice. So far my only complaint is that my dry detergent doesn't get fully rinsed from my tighter-weave clothing. I solve that problem by using liquid soap when necessary. I haven't found the lid-lock to be a problem. I hit the pause button, add the item, and hit start. The soft-close feature on the lid is a nice touch. It's easy to use and the interactive sounds are pleasant. I also like that the machine turns on simply by lifting the lid. Since I just received it 2 weeks ago, I will post an update in 6 months.

Great washing machine
5 Star Review   By sjm388 on Home Depot - Jan 22, 2011

We recently purchased and received this washing machine and have been very pleased. The machine is very quiet compared to our old GE washer. It has plenty of options that should meet the needs of most homes. I like how the spin cycle gets nearly all the water out. This means the drying time is much shorter therefore saving energy. It is very easy to use and the controls are laid out well. It has a nice chime at the end of cycle to let you know it is finished. It also appears to be built very solidly and should last a long time. So far we are satisfied and would recommend this to a friend.

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible
1 Star Review   By hkight on Home Depot - Jan 22, 2011

I have owned this washer for about 3 years. Yet again I will be calling the repairman to come fix it - actually I may purchase a different washer. This washer eats clothes - I have pulled out entire T-shirts from the bottom and our socks disappear more than the average washer. The wash cycles are very long as well. Mostly though, eating the clothes and socks and the fact that it is yet again not working are reason enough to look elsewhere for your washer.

New Washing Experience
5 Star Review   By meanpamelajeane on Home Depot - Jan 22, 2011

This is an excellent washer. There are many major differences from old agitator type top loading washers. 1. There is NO AGITATOR! 2. There is JUST enough water in the tub to do the job. When you look inside during the cycle it appears like there is not enough water to clean anything! 3. There is no way to tell when the washing cycle is over and the rinsing cycle begins. All cycles are automated. 4. All cleaning products must be poured into the appropriate recepticles BEFORE the washing cycle begins. 5. No powdered products can be used. 6. The washing cycles take longer to complete than a conventional washer . Almost 70 minutes for whites. 7. The washer makes VERY DIFFERENT noises than a conventional washer. It sounds like a jet taking off when it is on the spin cycle. It is A LOT QUIETER. This washer uses LESS water and LESS energy. It is a good choice of you wish to "GO GREEN".

Maytag Bravo 4.7
5 Star Review   By WJMiller on Home Depot - Jan 22, 2011

This machine is outstanding. Having no agitator makes loading a breeze and the computer in the machine is reducing my water consumption by a significant amount. Additonally, the vast array of settings and cycles is making the whole concept of "laundry," a much easier task. I highly recommend this machine to everyone.

So far so good and don't believe other bad reviews
5 Star Review   By SkepticalDave on Home Depot - Jan 22, 2011

I did a lot of research on the right type/model/brand of washer to replace my 10 year old agitator type washer. Consumer reports rates the top loading Maytag Bravos 700 top of the list. Whirlpool was second. I looked at front load and compared to top load and came to the conclusion top load was best for me. After going to no less than 5 stores including HD, I ordered it online. Not sure why it took 11 days for 1st available delivery but I wasn't in a hurry. Also, I'm still wondering why warranty starts on day of purchase, not day of delivery unlike any car dealership would do when buying a new car. Anyway, delivery was perfect and on time. The washer works great and lives up to it's deserved ratings. You'll be happy with it unless you do a lot of clothes you don't want wrinkled. The high speed spin will certainly flatten out the clothes to get them dry. There is a slower speed that might work fine for delicate clothes. Good luck and don't pay attention to the other bad reviews.

Bravos HE washer is a piece of junk!
1 Star Review   By IMangry on Home Depot - Jan 17, 2011

Bought this washer about 2 months ago and it was a disaster. The washer frequently doesn't use enough water to get all the clothes wet (let alone clean), regardless of how large/small the load is. Every load we have washed has failed to drain properly, resulting in 1-2 cycles of draining after the complete wash cycle. It literally takes approximately 2 hours + to adequately wash a load of clothes. We have been loyal Maytag users for almost 30 years, and I have no idea what is wrong with this machine. I wish I had the 20 year old Maytag the deliverymen took with them when they delivered this piece of junk. Do not buy this machine.

Love this washer & it's matching dryer
5 Star Review   By BravosFan on Home Depot - Jan 15, 2011

Our current washer and dryer were getting old and we had been researching newer washers & dryers. This set is one of the highest rated on consumer reports and it had a great price. After using the new set for a couple of weeks now, I can definitely say I LOVE MY ANGELS! I love that is had no agitator, is quite roomy inside and you don't have to set the water leavel or temperature yourself! It has preprogrammed settings based on the type of load you are doing and even has a hand wash setting, soil amount setting, and extra extract(water) setting. Oh, and it's sooo quite! I can't say enough good things about it....my laundry time is a quarter of what it used to be. Lovin' it!!

It is a Maytag
5 Star Review   By kathy55221 on Home Depot - Jan 9, 2011

After months of researching washing machines to replace my 1990's washer I came down to two...Maytag or LG. Both machines seem to come highly recommended, however, once I went to Home Depot to look at the two there was no comparison. The Maytag is a sturdy stronger looking machine with a 10 year warranty. When I went it was at least $200 cheaper than the LG. With less features and it appeared almost flimsy. I hope to enjoy many years of problem free washing.

HE Top Loaders Hard on Fabrics
2 Star Review   By SewGal on Home Depot - Dec 27, 2010

The simplistic "automatic water level" feature is a joke. The inch or two of "automatic water fill" is not enough water to effectively wash clothing let alone actually rinse fabrics. This harsh low-water level causes severe fabric abrasion akin to beating your clothing against sharp rocks. Bottom line: - If all you mainly launder is outdoor work & hunting clothes and don't really care about maintaining your fabrics condition, a HE top loader will work fine for you. - However, if you care about your clothing and want to wear them through more than 3 or 4 washings, don't get a HE top loader. I have 4 kids, sew, quilt, and do a ton of laundry and hate not being able to adjust the water level for finer fabrics. I'm back to hand washing most of my clothing in the sink and just using this beast for the spin feature. # # #

What A Washer!
4 Star Review   By JoeNeighbor on Home Depot - Dec 27, 2010

Massive load capacity. Runs really quiet. Only sound you may hear is the jet engine like sound it makes during the spin cycle. I am very impressed with the washer overall. The only problem I have is with the ultra fast spin cycles. My clothes ALWAYS require ironing after they are washed. I have the matching dryer, and have tried every cycle combination this thing and the dryer have and they always come out with wrinkles pressed in them. I even set the dryer on "Wrinkle Control" (as they call it) but it does not help. I am thinking the cure to this washer is the steam dryer... which is considerably more expensive.

This was our first new washer in 15 years, and we are thrilled with it. The one feature that we really appreciate is the IntelliFill Automatic Water Level sensor. When we are home alone or when our boys come home from college, we don't need to worry about adjusting the water level. The machine does it automatically. That along with the high efficiency has really reduced the amount of water we use. We are very happy that we choose this model!

Great, but flawed
4 Star Review   By PhilinPhilly on Home Depot - Dec 23, 2010

The machine itself is more quiet than my previous washer. It allows for much larger load (which is now a problem becuase my dyer is the same size). The washer cleans the clothes wonderfully. The flaw: Most of the clothes come out very twisted. Ive learned that if I unwrap and shake out the clothes before putting them into the dyer, most of the wrinkles will resolve.

Absolutely Love It!!!
5 Star Review   By overworkedunderpaid on Home Depot - Dec 19, 2010

I have never had a new washer and dryer. I always get the hand me downs from family. So when it was finally my time I did alot of research. I like the top load machines better so I started there. The consumer reviews online rated this the best top load high efficiency washer. Afterall of my research was done I decided on this machine. I am sooo glad I did! My clothes come out cleaner, brighter, and I can do twice the amount of wash at one time!!! YAY!!!!! It is quiet and has all sorts of settings I never knew existed but always wished had. I'd stick with med. on the spin cycle unless your doing towels or blankets, because max spin almost dries the clothes in the washer!! Bottom line, buy this machine. You won't regret it!

Love it!
5 Star Review   By happyinsr on Home Depot - Dec 11, 2010

I replaced my very old washer with this washing machine...what a treat! It makes very little noise, uses an amazingly small amount of water and our clothes come out cleaner than before. Our old dryer actually dries our clothes better because the washer squeezes out every inch of water, thereby requiring less drying time. I can't wait until I save enough $$ to get the matching dryer. The delivery drivers were on-time, polite and very helpful. They even hauled away our old washer. I told my best friend how much I loved the washer and she bought both the washer and dryer!

Washes a lot of clothes
4 Star Review   By horsegirl29 on Home Depot - Dec 11, 2010

I have 3 small children so I love the fact that this washer can wash a lot of clothes at once. The clothes come out almost dry (!) so it also cuts down on drying time. The only thing I don't like is that you can't add garments if you forgot something - it says it has an "add garment" ability but the washer drains and starts over. I use the handwash cycle a lot as well and it seems to be pretty gentle on the clothes. We've only had the washer for a month but all in all it seems pretty good.

Maytag Bravos 4.7 cu ft Washer Model MVWB300WQ1
5 Star Review   By chrisjm on Home Depot - Dec 10, 2010

I purchased this washer as a set with its matching dryer, the Bravos Quiet Series 300, model MEDB200VQ0 two weeks ago. While I will not discuss the delivery issues, I do want to say that this washer is all that it is billed - and more. I was a bit leery about its lack of impeller but was thrilled when the first load came out absolutely perfect. The High Efficiency washers do need to be understood much more so than the old style washers. There are many new sounds that you hear, though muffled by a very effective sound-deadening system. The lid lock system prevents accidents and there is ample time in which to add an extra garment without upsetting the times or starting all over again. You must program any non-factory default changes like an all cold water wash and rinse before you push the start button. The cycle times are prominently displayed on the top left so you know when the load will finish. The spin speeds are super fast, almost as fast as those new fangled side-load types. I found that throttling it back to a slower speed still left the clothes so dry that my permanent press shirts didn't even need any drying at all. The amount of water used in this machine is less than half than my previous one and that is why you must use the HE detergents - they must do their job and rinse out with much less water. Bottom line - great machine, super wash results, very quiet running and a 10 year warranty - in addition to being qualified for the ecology rebate program too! Buy it!

Very worth the price
5 Star Review   By A1plus on Home Depot - Dec 3, 2010

I just received my new Maytag Bravos washer and dryer today. I have done several loads and love the way it cleans. It is so quiet I keep checking to make sure that is is really working. I was looking for an updated laundry system and after doing my research did not feel that front-load was for me. This system can handle large loads. Even washed several more heavy towels than normal and it seemed to handle it all very well. You do need to use the High Efficiency laundry products - which are getting easier to find. I would recommend this to anyone. Miles ahead of the system I replaced.

AMAZING washing machine
5 Star Review   By Troylj on Home Depot - Nov 26, 2010

I LOVE this washing machine. Uses half as much water as our last one. We can do dishes, take a shower, and do laundry all at the same time and never run out of hot water with our 30 gallon water heater. Its a very quiet machine and the cleaniness of our clothes is unbeatable. We are very happy with this purchase.

Great Washer for a reasonable price
5 Star Review   Home Depot

At first I was hesitant on purchasing this washer because it only uses high efficiency detergent. We have been using it for about a week now and we are very satisfied with the quality of this product. Clothes come out clean and the features on the washer are neat. It has an optional signal to alert you when the wash load is complete. You also have options for hand washing your clothes, and selecting how fast you want the clothes spun. Once you have made your selections, the lid locks and you are unable to add clothes. If this is something you do, this washer may not be for you. I thought this would bother me, but it doesn't. I like that we are using less water and energy.

Good Washer
4 Star Review   By SatisfiedConsumer41 on Home Depot - Oct 11, 2010

I have been using this washer for 5 month at this point and I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. Washer is very quiet for the most part except for during the spin cycle. I was able to wash a queen size thick duvet as well as a large dog bed in here no problem. This is a HE detergent only washer and I highly recommend you use only HE detergent otherwise clothing tends to not come out as fresh and clean as expected.
