1 Star Review   By anonymous - Jan 29, 2015

This LG washer was delivered on August 14 and from Day 1, it has been nothing but problems. First load-clothes came out smelling rancid and did not spin, a surprise since clothes did not smell before washing. Authorized Repair service #1 had never serviced an LG, told me to call store for return, referred to LG who refused to recognize #1, sent "authorized" service who wanted me to sign for payment & claimed consumer education the problem, not a defect. #2 did not touch machine but sent a bill for $138. LG would not accept a return after service #1 now fully authorized by LG returned. The software needs to be replaced as it proved defective once my land line phone was used for detection problems. Waited 2 weeks for software on back order. I wanted to return machine, told LG will not accept a return and store will not accept a return without paying a 20% restocking fee even though washer is defective. Water levels inconsistent, sometimes to top, sometimes very little, does not recognize the difference between hot, warm, cold, etc. I have been told that I didn't read the manual, used the wrong soap, my water heater was ineffective, my faucet was defective-all not true and washer uses only cold water: Two Better Business Bureaus have been unable to resolve this problem. LG will only replace software which I have been told will not guarantee proper usage in the future and possible loss of any warranty. Washer defective and I just want a return/refund.

Excellent machine
5 Star Review   By anonymous - Apr 7, 2014

This washer is simply excellent. Had a front load GE for a couple of years - it was horrible including leaking all over the floor and clothes coming out smelling moldy. The LG top load, however, is simply amazing to use.

Works better than my Maytag Bravo
4 Star Review   By Linda on Home Depot - Jun 17, 2013

This does not ball up my clothes or sheets like my Bravo did! The only drawback is that the bottom of tub is hard to reach and I really have to stretch to get a sock off the bottom. Im 5'3. May get a step if I really feel a need. Other than that I love it.

So far so good
4 Star Review   By NCGal on Home Depot - Jun 15, 2013

I spent way too much time researching a new washer and dryer. I was in the enviable place of NOT being in an emergency situation, so I could wait til something felt right. I liked the controls being moved to the front, the direct drive and the 10 year motor warranty. LG gets good ratings, although I was scared by some folks' stories, but there are horror stories for all makes. I've run a few loads and it seems to be truly water efficient. So far, seems to get clothes clean. I have a neighbor who has an earlier version of this machine, and went by her recommendation. It seems very versatile, with lots of options, probably more than I need. The thing I found discouraging in searching is that I have a closet for my washer/dryer, not a laundry room. It is very hard to find a high efficiency unit that will fit, and the install guy was a little dubious, but it just squeezed in.

My clothes have never been so clean!
5 Star Review   By Rockstarmama17 on Home Depot - Jun 13, 2013

This is a great value for what this machine can do and handle. I absolutely love it! It can so many big beach towels at once and tackle a king comforter with ease. This machine is super quite and cleans my clothes so well. I went from a horrible LG front loader to this top loader, I will never go back to front loader. This spin cycle gets clothes almost completely dry and never had a problem with out of balanced like others have reported. I make sure the clothes are displaced evenly and bulk load.

Stumbled at first but recovered superbly
5 Star Review   By JimB on Home Depot - Jun 11, 2013

My 1st washer leaked from the drum. I called and got a very pleasant and efficient customer service rep. Since it was Saturday and the holiday weekend she asked I call back Tuesday. When calling back I spoke to another very helpful rep that arranged to have my leaking machine picked up and the new one installed. The second delivery man was extremely helpful and made certain everything worked great, Thew machine is ultra quiet and uses a lot less water. The cloths come out clean and nearly dry. I am very pleased with the machine and the service.

I won't buy another HE washer unless they improve somehow
2 Star Review   By nana on Home Depot - Jun 8, 2013

I checked customer reviews before buying, and none had warnings. First red flag should've been the no-return policy. Normal/cotton setting runs for nearly an hour (inefficient). It goes thru all these gyrations to determine washer load (inefficient) without actually washing. Then the water level is so low that clothes at the top of a normal-size load stayed dry for the first 10 minutes of wash cycle. I was ready to trash it until friends told me how to over-ride water levels. First, set it for extra rinses (inefficient), which adds about 30 minutes (also inefficient), but it uses adequate water that way. So cotton setting with extra rinses runs for 1 1/2 hours. Another option is to use Speed Wash with extra rinses, for about 1 hour of washing. The only way to get lots of wash water in that tub is to use bedding setting, which runs about an hour without extra rinses. The tub is so deep that short people (5'2) can't reach all the clothes to unload it. I have to use a stick or grabber thing for small items, like kids' socks. It doesn't indicate if the on/off signal is on or off. But even when it's on, the musical signal is barely audible unless you're in the next room with no other noise. If it gets off-balance (often), it just stops until you rearrange it (if you're lucky enough to catch the signal). Glad I found how to control amount of water. But this high-efficiency washer is completely inefficient and frustrating.

LG 4.3 cu. ft. High-Efficiency Top Load Washer is great!
5 Star Review   By LaundryGuy on Home Depot - Jun 4, 2013

After considerable research into direct drive, top loading, high efficiency washers, I selected the LG 4.3 cu. ft. unit. It is great and easily fit into our house through a couple sets of tight doorways and down the stairs (the delivery folks were great!). The drum on this unit is huge and very deep. It easily handles a load that would have been two super size loads in our old agitator top loading washer. The best part about the unit is how it extracts the water from the laundry, which makes them feel nearly dry at the end of the cycle. The result is that our drying cycles are a fraction of the time and saves us even more energy! The top door has a window in it so you can see the unit loading and washing, which is something we didn't have before. Other reviewers cautioned about how loads can easily get off balance if they are not loaded evenly, but we have not had that problem (even with teenagers doing their own laundry). I would strongly recommend this unit.

4 Star Review   By eckabain on Home Depot - Jun 4, 2013

Only had it a couple of months but it seems to be working fine, though I am concerned what the computer will cost to repair... It did not seem to get out heavily dirt-stained work clothes, but overall is very good. Plenty of room, easy to interrupt and unlock. Not sure about energy savings yet, but my other one was 20 years old. We'll have to see repair costs versus energy savings...

Great Washer
5 Star Review   By Pittsburgh on Home Depot - May 28, 2013

Went online and bought it on Tuesday / delivered on Saturday. More than I wanted to spend but well worth the expense.....A lot more features than expected.....Can fit a tremendous amount in the tub.....Very quiet......Wash is clean and with the spin comes out dry......In fact our dryer time has been cut back dramatically......I like the cycles you can pick along with the speed. Only draw back is amount of time it takes to do a load of laundry but it is our first high efficiency appliance and am told this is normal.

Overall good, but unbalances easily
4 Star Review   By Barbara on Home Depot - May 28, 2013

I am happy with the washer overall and I feel it is a big improvement over my old Whirlpool agitator model. One problem is that it gets out of balance frequently (such as when washing sheets) and then it's stuck in the unbalanced mode for 20 minutes until I open it up and rearrange the load. This ends up wasting energy since I don't realize this is going on until I check on the load. For this reason, I only do laundry when I am around to check on it from time to time. Also, the cycles are very long and the spinning seems to be unnecessarily long. Now, I know that it is good to get things dry but do you really need 25 minutes of spinning?

Good features, but limited in what can be washed
4 Star Review   By John1234 on Home Depot - May 28, 2013

Disappointed that there is a warning about not washing bed pads or anything that might be water proof. Might not have bought it if we had known that ahead of time. Warning says motor could burn out. The old washer did not have that problem. Otherwise, it is a very good washer and very efficient.

Great features, great value
5 Star Review   By Lori on Home Depot - May 22, 2013

I love everything about this machine! It's gets our clothes really clean, it's quiet, and it shares features with some of the higher end front load machines but without their high pricetag. It even has a timer to let you know how much time remains on your wash cycle. I used to hate doing laundry, but now I enjoy using this machine. Last but not least, it washes a LOT more clothes than my old machine did, so I get laundry done with fewer loads. I can't think of one negative thing to say about this washer.

Exceeded My Expectations
5 Star Review   By HardwareHappy on Home Depot - May 21, 2013

I was a little apprehensive about purchasing a washing machine without an agitator that looked like a giant breadmaker. I have not been disapointed. The front controls are easy to see and use, operations are very quiet, capacity is literally doubled from my old faithful Kitchen Aid washer and it does a good job of cleaning a larger variety of items; no problem with water levels. Many popular detergents are already HE. This is my first LG appliance, but definitely not my last.

5 Star Review   By casey7672 on Home Depot - May 21, 2013

This washer washes very large loads of laundry. It's quiet and has a very high spin that leaves the clothes very dry before putting them into the dryer, which makes your clothes dry fast. It looks and works great in every way.It has every cycle for all needs. This is the best washer I've ever seen.

Great features. Energy Efficient.
5 Star Review   By MrsCH3 on Home Depot - May 18, 2013

We have only had the washer for about one month, but we are happy with it thus far. I only chose good for quality and energy efficiency because we haven't had it long enough to see an overall impact on our utility bill yet. I'm assuming it's going to be good. It has a great deal of features, including a child lock, which is helpful when you have a preschooler that likes to press buttons. There is a liquid bleach dispenser, fabric softener dispenser and a compartment for either HE liquid detergent or powder detergent. It seems like all of the newer top-load washers do not allow for the washing of "waterproof" items like sneakers, mattress covers, etc. but we knew that before purchasing it. It is EXTREMELY quiet. I love that. Our laundry room is upstairs right outside of our infant's bedroom and I love that you cannot hear this thing. You may hear some water sloshing around as it cleans, but it is not NEARLY as loud as our older washer. When it spins, it is silent. Our other washer would shake the entire house. For this alone and the sake of my children's sleep, I'm glad we got this. I do not like that you can't select hot water for certain cycles, but it is not the be-all, end all. My clothes come out clean every time. I love that the washer can detect the load size and then self-adjust to put the right amount of water in there without filling the washer all the way to the top, so it definitely saves water. It is really easy to use and comes with a quick start sheet that can help you get started right away if you don't want to read the manual. The shippers installed it really quickly and it was ready to use in less than 20 minutes. I like that it also has a self-clean option so that you can clean it if need be. It's a good looking washer- we really like the glass top that allows you to see inside while it's washing. Compared to other washers we were looking at, we feel like we got a good value. It had great reviews, which is what swayed us to purchase it.

This machine is awesome, controls are so simple cycles are perfect the options like spin only etc are so great. Clothes are really clean with so much less detergent the spin dry is superb clothes do not tangle. Never thought I would look forward to washing clothes. The warranty is fantastic. This reminds me of the old days when you expected your machine to last for a really long time

An all around great high end, high efficiency washing machine at a reasonable price
5 Star Review   By AlfaJoe on Home Depot - May 14, 2013

I wasn't sure about the new high efficiency/no agitator washers; the reviews were mixed. However, so far, after 6 weeks of use, the LG WT1101CW top loader has been well worth the rather reasonable price. This high capacity (4.3 cu. ft.), direct drive (no belts), and easy to use front digital control panel washer can do 2 loads in one and most importantly my clothes are clean. Don't know about the cost of running the machine yet, but I do know that my dryer time has been cut in half because of the super high speed spin cycle of the washer. Arranging the clothes in the tub is important. Place the clothes around the edge of the tub, close to the bottom so that all the clothes get their fair share of soaking and so the washer doesn't go out of balance. Use high efficiency detergent, and play with cycle options to match your needs. There are enough options and combinations so that you can wash almost anything, including king size bed spreads. Time will tell if it continues to maintain its great performance, but so far it gets an "A+" rating for cost, performance, and quality.

I love doing laundry now
5 Star Review   By Macswife on Home Depot - May 14, 2013

I read every review I could find about this washer. Went and looked at it in store and ended up buying from Home Depot. I read the instruction manual before it came so I would know how to use it and to make sure it was running as it should. I saw some complaints that there wasn't enough water or that it wasn't getting clothes clean. I think if you read the manual and use the correct settings that this isn't a problem. I've had it a month now and used it a couple dozen times and I've not been disappointed at all. In fact I feel our clothes are cleaner than ever. My husband has a red pullover that had become a darker maroon over the last couple years, washed it with the new washer and it's a vibrant Badger Red again. I can't wait to get the matching dryer.

Washing Machine with Great Features
5 Star Review   By Jean13 on Home Depot - May 10, 2013

My new washer delivered today and I ran four loads. I must say I never had so much fun washing clothes (: With the see through window on the lid, you can watch it fill with water and the detergent being dispensed and then the process of washing begins. It really gets the clothes clean and I love how it automatically fills the water to the size of your load. My only complaint is that the washer is deeper than all my previous washers and I have to tiptoe to unload it. I am 5'3 tall. Other than that, I love it!!!

I have cabinets above my washer and dryer so I can not open the washer door without holding it open so I need to load with one hand. Same is true when I take my clothes out to put them in the dryer. Also during spin cycle, clothes can get stretched and some things get very wrinkled, more so than in my previous front loader.

great- until it doesn't.
3 Star Review   By Sparky on Home Depot - May 7, 2013

This machine worked great for 9 days. Our old machine was old, didn't spin cycle correctly anymore, and had no bells and whistles. I was overjoyed getting this new, sleek machine. 9 days later I would have rather had my old one back. It completely stopped working. LG had to send a tech out to replace the entire motherboard. But wait- that was on back order. They were going to send a brand new one from the factory- taking 10 days to get it. 10 days with out a washer with 2 boys under 2 years old that are cloth diapered was unacceptable. Miraculously the back ordered part became available. It took 6 days to get it fixed. Still unacceptable. Now-3 weeks later, it won't rinse and spin cycle correctly. Error codes all over the place. I am completely disastisfied.

Very nice so far
5 Star Review   By HappyCustomer on Home Depot - May 4, 2013

This was one of the lower priced HE top load washers but had more than enough features with 10 year motor and tub warranty. I like the design and so far it has worked perfectly. It holds a lot more cloths than our old one so we do fewer loads. We have not had the chance to wash very bulky items like blankets or very dirty items yet so I can't comment on that. It does use very little water and you wonder how it gets them clean but so far it seems like it does. Home Depot's shipping company did an excellent job. They installed the new one and took away the old one all for free.

top load, not good!
2 Star Review   By Robert on Home Depot - May 1, 2013

I bought this washer & dryer combo, because I saw the review that said, it was an excellent washer, but the reality was different. First,This machine spent lot of water when you put it in the Bulky cycle. Second, when the time comes to rinse, the washer put the softener in the middle of the basket while is spinning so the clothes doesn't receive any of it, and the same time she is pumping the water and the softener out,,Crazy!. So I decided return this product and buy the front load from the same company "LG". that it is working so much better...Luv it!

Poor quality and Performance
1 Star Review   By TinMan on Home Depot - May 1, 2013

This machine has given us nothing but trouble since it was installed. We get error codes every time we try to run a wash cycle which results in the machine shutting down. We have had service repair try to resolve the issues 2 different times and both times have failed. This leaves me to the opinion that the machine is poor quality.

LOVE IT!!!!
5 Star Review   By ptomt77 on Home Depot - Apr 30, 2013

Only had machine for a few weeks but me and the wife love the washer. I work consruction and my work cloths are clean when the cycle is completed. The wash cycles are a little longer than our old washer but we do not care. By the way, this machine replaced a washer that we had over 20 years, yes I said 20 years.

5 Star Review   By Cindy on Home Depot - Apr 27, 2013

Quiet and easy. My kids are loving to do their laundry with a lil help. The little tune when you turn it on catches their attention. Clothes come out so much better and dryer time is quick. It does take a little longer to do a load but it does it right.

Washer and Dryer by LG
5 Star Review   By Mommaof3 on Home Depot - Apr 13, 2013

After having my last washer and dryer for 15 years it was a shock to research the new technology in washers and dryers. I was skeptical about not having the tradtional agitator, but quickly got over it! I love the large capacity (I have a college student who loves it too)! It is effortless to use. I agree with other comments that the wash cycles takes an hour but hopefully the energy costs will help me love that! I have had each for a month. The dryer is very efficient and takes only 40 minutes which is average time. I do not think the cost is necessary and as a single mom I could have gotten by with a regular agitator that cost less, but I wouldn't trade the musical song at the end of each cycle for anything.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!
1 Star Review   By MrsM on Home Depot - Apr 12, 2013

We purchased this machine after doing research on this washer. The washer was delivered on 4/6/2013 and by 4/8/2013 my washer was not functioning! We got an E6 error code. As of 4/17/2013, when the repairman is scheduled to return and fix the washer with a new part, I will have been without a washer for 2 weeks! I have spoken to LG and they are doing nothing to show they care about this fact-whether it be extend the warranty or give me some kind of credit or money back, because of the inconvenience! This is unacceptable to me!

Highly recommended
5 Star Review   By Rani on Home Depot - Apr 10, 2013

We have had this energy-star* washer for about two weeks and we absolutely love it. It is user-friendly and gives us an option to different cycle settings depending upon our need. The operation is smooth and sophisticated and the stainless steel tub can hold even a king-size comforter. The nice melody played at the end of the cycle is a charm.

interesting machine. I like to watch it work through the glass window on top.
3 Star Review   By marcy on Home Depot - Apr 3, 2013

However, I don't agree with some of the settings for water conservation. Sometimes it doesn't get all of the load even wet. I have to shut it off and start over to "fool" it into thinking I am washing a bigger load. It "senses" and adds more water. I am learning better to select from the options to get what I want but really, I would rather judge for myself how much water this load is best going to need. Some loads don't smell clean at all and have to be washed all over again if I don't make it add more water. I don't like the long process of weighing and shaking and jiggling and spraying. It makes the cycles way too long...like almost an hour and a half. And yes, I have tried the rinse only cycle and the extra rinse cycle and the "quick" cycle. Nice to have but I would like to have more control.

follow instructions no problems!!
5 Star Review   By Matt on Home Depot - Apr 3, 2013

If you use a leveler and get it level back to front, it never gets off balance. If you wash all whites together, all blue jeans together, & all towels together as the directions suggest, you don't have any problems. Love it!! I have tried to fill it up and run out of clothes from a family of 4. It looks like it is full but always is over 1/2 flattened when cycles finish.

This is the perfect washer!
5 Star Review   By sandy on Home Depot - Apr 2, 2013

The time had come to replace our 18 yr. old machine. I had researched new washers, and realized that this item had everything I wanted. I knew I didn't want a front-loading HEM, and I knew I didn't want the old agitator type that we'd had. I DID want something bigger, more energy efficient, no center agitator and a stainless steel drum. After almost a month of use, I can honestly say that I LOVE this machine! We joke about running out of dirty clothes to wash. I have not only cut my energy consumption, but also my laundry soap use. I have already washed a variety of clothing/bedding and this machine does a wonderful job on all the cycles. And it gently "sings" to you when the laundry is done! :-) I am very glad that I found this model, and would recommend it highly.

Does an excellent job at cleaning and is a great value
5 Star Review   By LuminaBella on Home Depot - Mar 27, 2013

I'm very happy with this H.E. washer, the difference in cleaning is very noticeable especially in dish towels. I use only detergent, no presoaking or bleach or additives and there is no residual odor at all. They are so clean that they also dry better.( more thirsty) The washer uses a slow spin to cycle the water/detergent mix through the cloth fibers in many directions. Because the water just covers the clothes, there is less water than in regular washers and the ratio of detergent to water is higher so the cleaning is very thorough. The rinse cycle also forces clean water through the fabrics so there is no residual detergent left and I can tell because clothes are softer and not stiff like my other washer. I line dry so any residual detergent made the towels like cardboard and that doesn't happen anymore with this LG. One thing I noticed was that the leveling is very important. Since the top slopes downward to the front, the setup guys did not know how to level it front to back; they only leveled from side to side. The web site shows how to do this and it made a big difference toward having the machine spin very smoothly, which at 1100 rpm is something you really want. I also really like the fact that there is no agitator column so I can wash comforters and now king size sheets don’t get all wrapped around the axel. I would definitely buy this washer again.

We sent it back to Sears and for weeks I continued reading reviews and decided to purchase this LG. It was affordable and had a lot of features.. I have only had it a few weeks now but I am very satisfied with it so far. Cleans my clothes every time..You will not waste your money on this machine. Trust me..

5 Star Review   By Sandy on Home Depot - Mar 13, 2013

The deep tub is great; I can wash a king-sized quilt. I have to hang over the front to get items off the bottom, but it is wonderful to have all that load capacity. Everything about this washer is first-class, from the no-slam lid to the little jingle it plays when the cycle is finished, everything is top-notch. This washer seems to be extremely well-made and I hope to get years of service.

Great Washer
5 Star Review   By Char on Home Depot - Mar 11, 2013

This washer is HUGE! I can do all my laundry for the week in one load. (I am single though, but still) I know a few ppl had issues with an unbalanced error. I did one time in the month I have had it and that was when I washed some thick and long area throw rugs. They were kind of heavy and it was a bit of struggle. I just moved them around a few times and it did finish washing them so no big deal. Everything else is great with the machine... I'm super happy.

We were looking for something that was energy efficient, used less water, and could handle large capacity...without spending way over budget. We've had this for about 3 weeks and couldn't be happier. We were slightly concerned about having to purchase without seeing it in person but WOW...I have zero complaints! I have never had a machine that could easily handle laundry for 5 and bedding. I must also mention the delivery was outstanding!

Excellent! Love it !
5 Star Review   By Evon on Home Depot - Mar 1, 2013

i knew I wanted an LG brand washer. But, I was unsure about purchasing this washer at first, because none of the stores had it it in stock. And, I wanted to see it in person before purchasing. But, I checked the reviews and they were excellent.. It aso had everything I wanted on a washer, so .decided to go ahead and take a chance and purchase it, site unseen.. I AM SO GLAD I DID! My washer was installed on 2/23/13, I have washed delicates, comfortors, bath rugs, king size sheets, towels, jeans, and kids clothes with no problems at all. Although I read that some washers do not fill with enough water to wash the clothes, there is absolutely NO problem with this washer's water level. The water covers the clothes when it washes. All of my clothes come out clean with very few wrinkles. I like the variety of settings available, the glass see-through top, and the easy to read controls on the front of the machine. The only problem is that I am 5'4" and sometimes have to stand on a stool to get the clothes out of the bottom of the large tub. Home Depot installers were on time, courteous, and quickly installed the machine..I am very happy with this washer and would definately recommend it to everyone! It is an excellent washer at a great price..

Surprisingly works well
4 Star Review   By Saddleback on Home Depot - Feb 12, 2013

Our last washer had just failed, a front loader He washer. It had broken before and had it repaired for $260. This time the seal went and the washer was leaking. I was not impressed with the front loader design, and the loads were small. I was ready to go back to the top loading machines with the agitator and then I saw the new He top loaders. I spoke to a salesperson and they said nobody goes with the new He top loaders unless they have a space issue. I did some additional research and the issues that I read about were that they do not clean as well, they wrinkle the clothes and they break easier. Despite these comments I went ahead and bought the LG. I have had the machine now for over a month. I bought the lowest feature model because my feeling is less is best to reduce maintenance issues over time, I really like the drum size, my time to wash clothes has reduces dramtically. I am able to two loads of laundry instead of three. Clothes are clean and the wrinkles are not any different than my old front load He. My key is pulling out the clothes out of the dryer while they are still warm and folding/hanging the clothes immediately. My kids use the machine and they find it easy to use. The only minor issue is the drum is very deep and for the kids, it is a stretch but doable to reach in and pull out their clothes. Since I have had the LG washer for only a month, I am giving it only 4 stars. To me a 5 star washer should last maintenance free for at least 5 years.

Lots of features, pleasantly surprised.
5 Star Review   By cartc02 on Home Depot - Feb 6, 2013

This washer very much outperforms my 12 year old unit. Touch controls and a glass top makes this washer look really cool. It has a large stainless steel drum and uses very little water. In fact it seems that there is a problem as the water does not cover all the items, but the book says this is normal. Without the center post of some washers it allows for large items suchs as bedding and pillows. The thing that kinda disappoints me is the length of time it takes to wash a load, usually up to an hour, but I am sure this is part of the efficiency of the operation. The other thing is the plastic that is surrounding the glass and trim, it is very easy to scratch. Other than that this has been a great unit.

5 Star Review   By SongDiva on Home Depot - Feb 4, 2013

I was very skeptical at first because I'm used to having an agitator in the machine to help the cloths along. But this machine turned out to be the best machine I've ever had. The size is awesome. I've never had a washing machine at home that I could fit a huge king-sized bulky comforter in, but this washer took care of it. I'm quite amazed at how little water and detergent it uses, yet the clothes come out exceptionally clean.

Excellent Value
5 Star Review   By TandD on Home Depot - Jan 27, 2013

We have owned this washer for a week now, and absolutely love it. It is solidly built - no flimsy, "sheet metal" feel to the lid or body, and everything about it, from the tempered glass see-through top to front-mounted, electronic control panel gives it a very appealing, high-tech appearance. Our 20 year-old son even enjoys using it! I was initially concerned about its "footprint", since the assembled depth was reported to be 28 & 3/8 inches (a full two inches deeper than our old machine) since our laundry room has a door that swings inward right next to the washer. I needn't have worried, however, since the measurement apparently allows for the drainage hose and fittings on the back. Its overall distance from the wall is not that much greater than our old washer. The machine features eight pre-set wash cycles, and four "special use" cycles, which are all customizable as to spin speed, wash temperature (the rinses are all cold), soil level, soak cycle, etc. The direct-drive motor is quiet and operates smoothly; no clunking noises or belts to slip off. The clothes, towels and sheets we have washed so far have all come out great. We were concerned about the lack of reviews, and the fact that they were negative for this particular model, but after comparing several brands and models, we went with the LG. For overall quality and value, we are very glad we did.

Love This Washer!
5 Star Review   By BusyMom on Home Depot - Jan 27, 2013

I have had this washer for almost a month now and love it! Does a great job of washing my clothes and is very easy to use and quiet. I read several reviews on top load washers without agitators before I purchased. I knew I wanted an LG and knew I wanted this one....so much so that the store did not even have it in stock yet and special ordered it in for me. I read the manual before I used it and I think that is important. I take a little extra time to load it right (and it really doesn't take that much extra effort either) and it washes fine - never off balance, never twisted wrinkled clothes, etc. like I've read in some of the negative reviews of other top loaders.I also love the fact that the top cover not only closes quietly, but it also is able to be folded back to allow the wash tub to air out without having to leave the whole cover open like the front loaders. I would recommend this to anyone!

Great size, quality, and style
5 Star Review   By Scott on Home Depot - Jan 26, 2013

I was skeptical about this machine because I was unable to find a set in the store to view in person. But we took a chance, and purchased it online due to the front controls and great price. I am very, very pleased. We have had top of the line front loaders, but this machine is much quieter, easier to access to load and unload, and was far less expensive than similar quality models. So far I love this washer! Have not had any problems with balancing or error codes, despite washing large towels and dog beds. So far great.

not impressed
1 Star Review   By Sand on Home Depot - Jan 24, 2013

I was a little skepical about not having an agitator for a top load washer. I love the big tub and front controls, but almost everytime I washed a load, it would register UE. This meant the clothes were unbalanced. I have to go into the load and move the clothes around and hit again to continue washing. I did this very frequently for the first two weeks. I put the clothes in so they are distributed evenly. Not sure if I will keep this machine,

It has a problem on the first day
1 Star Review   By Handyman on Home Depot - Jan 14, 2013

Initially I loved this machine, but I was skeptical because there where no reviews. I really wanted the LG 4.5 cu.ft. top load washer, but there was none in stock so I settled on this one. I love the front control panel buttons and size. I was sure that I was gonna love this machine for years to come, but after the first load washed successfully, I keep getting an 1E error saying that there is not enough inlet water pressure. I am a professional handyman and I verified that the water pressure is correct as it was with my old washer but I keep getting this error. I really want to like this machine, but I will have to wait until the repairman comes to see if I will keep it.
