Happy consumer
5 Star Review   By Pete on Home Depot - Jun 5, 2013

This is after 1 month of use. We are very happy to this pt. The machine is very quiet compare to our 14 yr old top loader. Many reviews state it is noisy when the water turns on and off suddenly at the beginning of cycles. I think this may be due in large part to old or poor plumbing construction. Our home is 14 years old and we don't have any banging. The clothes are cleaner than our old machine and we use a fraction of the detergent. I like the chime at the end of the wash, it's so much more pleasant than a loud buzz. My existing dryer was fine, so at this point, I'm glad we didn't purchase the pedestal. Our delivery drivers we're not going to level until I said to do it. Make sure this is done. It will keep the machine quiet and ultimately prolong its life.

Very quiet and does a great job
5 Star Review   By AFRUBO on Home Depot - May 29, 2013

I was hesitant at first to operate the washer. Read all of the instructions and found that it to be easier to operate than the old fashioned one. Just push a few buttons and the washer makes the correct decisions for you. Love it.

Great features and energy efficency
4 Star Review   By washingmom on Home Depot - May 19, 2013

Everything is great about this washer, the only problem is on heavy, bulky loads (like rugs) the load comes out soggy, actually dripping wet. If you do an extra spin it takes care of the problem though, so no huge deal.

I'm so glad I bought this washer.
5 Star Review   By Grandmadiana on Home Depot - May 15, 2013

It is gentle on clothes, yet it can wash a bulky comforter. There is a lot of flexibility and I'm still learning how to use all the features. It is very efficient in using such a small amount of water, yet it does a great job of cleaning. When appropriate the fastest spin makes drying time MUCH less.

Replaced a 2nd generation Neptune with this model.
5 Star Review   By Simanith on Home Depot - May 15, 2013

After hours of online research we decided on this Washing Machine. Clothing seems to come out cleaner and the unit is definitely quieter than our wore out Neptune. Haven't noticed much difference in water consumption & wash time is about the same. Great Bang for Buck purchase. Home Depot Online ordering is painless and easy. The delivery guys were friendly also.

Great Washer! Very Happy
5 Star Review   By DakotaMami2006 on Home Depot - May 14, 2013

This washer went above and beyond what we expected. Yes we did read about all of it's features but it gets very detailed, which we love! It does take some time getting used to it but once you've mastered the handbook its very nice to have all these features compared to our old washer. The washer is quiet, only uses the right amount of water, clothes aren't soaking wet when the cycle is done, and it has a very nice chime to it letting you know! We are very very pleased with our product and can't wait to get the matching dryer.

glad I got it.
5 Star Review   By Scott on Home Depot - May 11, 2013

It’s a fine machine. If there is a list of people who also feel that this is a fine machine then put me on that list. There are plenty good reviews about this machine. I haven’t read them all but I’d like to mention a few things if I could. First of all this washer came with hoses. I didn’t realize that. I missed that in the specifications. When I ordered the washer I also ordered some Stainless Steel Universal Washer Hoses. I don’t know about the quality of the hoses that came with the LG washing machine. They look okay but I like the idea of using braded stainless steel hoses just because I’m assuming that there would be less chance of them bursting. I also purchased a washing machine pan for the washer to sit in. The location of the washing machine and the size of the pan make it very difficult to use the tool that came with the washer to adjust the length of the legs on the washer so that it doesn’t rock when a wash load is spinning. I easily rectified this by using a plastic shim under one of the feet of the washer. Also, on the front of the washer there is a small door were you have access to a filter that is to be cleaned every so often. The height of the side of the washer pan makes it difficult to open the door all the way but it’s a simple matter to remove that door so that you have full access to the filter and the drain hose. I also purchased a Floodstop Washing Machine Valve Shutoff Kit and a Furman MP-20 Power Relay. I don’t know how many people know what these are or what they do but in short they work in conjunction to prevent a flood. As of this writing there is a nice website that describes in detail how to set these up but I don’t think I’m allowed to post it here.

So far good machines
4 Star Review   By HHUT on Home Depot - May 7, 2013

This is a good machine. I wish for the price that it was higher capacity, but after 30 days we are happy with performance. We have it stacked, and its a bit noisy during rinse and spin cycles. Otherwise, so far so good.

Do not buy this machine
1 Star Review   By JohnR on Home Depot - Apr 23, 2013

and God help you if have to work with LG customer service. My saga: bought machine 5/26/12. By 4/1/13 it was dead. Wait a bit, service guy comes by, says it needs a new board. Wait for the new board. "they're hard to come by" says service guy. Week later "they stopped making that part" says service guy. No prob says LG, we'll send you a new one. Two weeks later, now going on a month without washing machine, shipper shows up with the wrong machine. "Shipper screwed up" says LG. "I don't care" says I. "Well we have to find THAT machine". "Why?" says I. Crickets. This machine failed miserably within the warranty period and LG has horrid customer service.

Noisy, slow, and frustrating machine
1 Star Review   By kshsmom on Home Depot - Apr 22, 2013

I replaced my Whirlpool Duet washer because the computer broke on it -- after 7 1/2 years of wonderful use. This is an attractive machine and I was so excited to use it. This washer does something called "load sensing" - where it weighs the clothes in order to choose the right amount of water -- (and it says detergent as well - though I choose how much to add). The problem is that the sensor isn't right a lot of the time. I put in a large load of towels -- not tightly packed but a full load. It sensed the smallest load possible. I stopped it, added water to the towels to try and make the load heavier. It didn't change until I filled up my quart sized pitcher three times -- then it went up one bar. I pushed for water plus and waited. And waited. This washer takes almost an hour and a half to do a load whereas my duet took 40 - 50 minutes. I pulled the towels out and -- surprise! -- they still had dry spots. It did spin very fast and do a great job of wringing out the water -- but I have darker colored towels and I could see places where they never got wet at all. One more time through the very long cycle and I almost felt sure they were clean. Add to that the whining noise it makes -- think a quieter tornado alarm -- and it becomes even more frustrating. I kept thinking it was building up to some kind of explosion. I thought maybe it was just the towels - or maybe it was too large a load for this washer. In went my darks -- I didn't fill it quite so full but it still chose the smallest load and I ended up adding water to up the weight -- and then running it through twice when there were dry spots. Now I was really frustrated. Laundry is taking more time - and more hassle with having to add water and stopping and re-setting the load info . . . How is this more convenient or more energy saving? I feel like I spent $1200 (I bought the pedestal too) on a humungous paperweight while I could hand wash the clothes faster and with less frustration. LG support's idea to fix the problem? Just wash all small loads. Gee -- thanks. I wish I had never bought the machine.

This thing does it all!
5 Star Review   By WashingWizard on Home Depot - Apr 16, 2013

If you are used to the old top loaders, the new technology and features of this modern front loader will blow you away. The unit is solid and the numerous settings are very easy to understand and customize. What I like about this unit is that it is competitively priced, gets Consumer Reports 'best buy' rating, and can be stacked. The motor comes with a 10 year warranty as well, so I think that this machine will be in service for a long time. Another positive is that LG is one of the leaders in front load washers, producing some of the most reliable units. Verify that this unit's capacity will meet your needs since many that are offered are substantially larger. Other than that, you can't go wrong with this one.

Love this washer!!!
5 Star Review   By Nama on Home Depot - Apr 12, 2013

Love the LG WM2250CW. It is even better than I thought it would be. It is easy to use, once you read the instructions. It cleans our clothes so well, even the dark sweat shirts come out bright. I like all the options it gives you on each load. Love that it weighs the loads and adjusts every thing for you. It is amazing how clean the clothes are when it uses so little water. There isn't anything I don't like about this machine. I am so happy we bought it!!!

I am very happy with this machine. Those who have difficulty with it mostly do not read the directions and expect it to work like their old lop loader. Follow the directions and you have a gem of a machine!! Would buy it again.

Noisy when filling and door not reversible
2 Star Review   By Patty on Home Depot - Apr 5, 2013

This machine causes a lot of pipe knocking/vibrating when it fills. I can hear the water pipe to my ice maker in the freezer knocking when the washer fills! Occasionally, I go to take the wash out to place in the dryer and it's soaked. I have to run every load on the high spin cycle and sometimes respin the load before drying. Of course the machine is not returnable. Also, I am very disappointed that the door is not reversible. My washer is on the right of my dryer and opens to the left so it's very inconvenient.

For the price this product is a good purchase. I was disappointed in the size of the drum, thought it would be larger. Easy to use, clothes come out very clean. Hard to use if you don't have the pedestals. Love the little song to indicate when wash is done!

Problem with Load Size Function
3 Star Review   By MediaPG on Home Depot - Mar 31, 2013

Purchased this washer two months. Savings on water/energy are significant. Also, the LG is very quiet, even when washing large loads. However, a problem we've had since the first wash use involves the load size sensor. With our washer, the load sensor has always registered the same level, the lowest one, no matter how much or little we put into the tub. We contacted LG customer service to report the issue, but were told not to be concerned, that it won't effect the proper operation of the washer. However, this response raises an obvious question, "why put a load size sensor on the machine, and advertise it as a feature, if it doesn't work and has no effect of the overall operation of the washer"?? Even if just for show, the load size sensor clearly is not operating effectively, and LG Customer Service made no attempt at inspecting or rectifying the problem.

Great features and Bigger Tub
5 Star Review   By JCinJersey on Home Depot - Mar 27, 2013

I like the features and the size of the tub is pretty big. My last machine was a front loader and smaller tub so it's nice to be able to wash more clothes in this one. It's supposed to weigh the clothes and it always comes up the same no matter how much is in the washer so I don't think you can go by that to put in the right amount of detergent. I just play that by ear. You can add more water to the load and also have an extra rinse. My previous washer had the extra rinse and I liked that for my whites so they are rinsed well. Overall the washer seems good so far. It does take getting used to the electronics of it, since I was used to manual dials and settings. I prefer them but is hard to find on the washers now. It does give you many options and that part is nice.

Nice Washer
5 Star Review   By Sandi on Home Depot - Mar 21, 2013

Just started using the machines--so far I like them. One small issue we had with the installation was the washer and dryer were to be stacked. The stacking kit is gray and the machines are white. I didn't want to have the delivery guys make another trip just for the correct white color stacking kit as their drive was over an hour. The order filler person should check to make everything in the order is correct before they send their driver's out.

Great washer
5 Star Review   By Greatproduct on Home Depot - Mar 18, 2013

Washer works very well and is easy to use. Like some reviewers stated there is a noise when the washer turns on the water. This happens a few times during the wash process. Normal wash is fast and the clothes are dryer than my other front load washer. Free delivery was great. Be aware that the installer will not hook up non standard connections. If the hookups are not togther with the drain or need an extension they might not even try. This is somewhat understandable. My drain is above the water connections. The washer does come with water hoses yet I bought the HD hoses they appear better and as it turned out are probably worth the extra money.

Does not rinse cloths enough and genlt cycle anything but
1 Star Review   By pagosa on Home Depot - Mar 15, 2013

Yes it looks fancy but this is a COLD water machine with a gentle cycle that ruined my wife's cashmere cloths. First issue it never wets the cloths enough, welcome to low water use machines. Second the gentle cycle is not, don't use it. We have a Kenmore elite from 8 years ago at another home also a front loader and its amazing non of these issues. This is a low end product as the price showers. TEST - WHEN THE WASH IS DONE TAKE SOME CLOTHS IN PUT IN A GLASS BOWL WITH WATER AND RINSE. YOU WONT BELIEVE HOW MUCH SOAP COMES OUT. Spend more money and get a hot water machine.

5 Star Review   By GeGeC on Home Depot - Mar 13, 2013

This is my first front load washer and I love it. We were concerned about the small load size but I can fit our largest comforter with no problem. Our clothes are coming out cleaner...I love that.

5 Star Review   By abbysmom on Home Depot - Mar 5, 2013

I was so excited to get these and couldn't wait to for them to be shipped to my house. They are easy to use and I love that they have child locks on them. That comes in handy when you have a toddler running around.

Good price for a good product
4 Star Review   By funkmasterfaulk on Home Depot - Mar 3, 2013

Overall I really like my set, especially it being my first front loading set. My only complaints are that it takes longer to dry than expected and makes a lot of noise during spin cycle, but that is mostly because they are stacked...

Great Washing Machine @ a GREAT Price
5 Star Review   By CrFan on Home Depot - Feb 27, 2013

The Washing machine does a better job then the previous top loader and with ALOT less water. It does take a little bit longer to run through the cycle, but the clothes definitely come out cleaner. Another bonus is the spin cycle is much better, so the clothes come out with less water. Less damp means faster dry time.

Couldn't be happier
5 Star Review   By Star on Home Depot - Feb 26, 2013

I've had my washer for a few weeks now and I'm extremely happy. I have to say the thing I like most is how much water the machine gets out of the clothes. It takes less than half the time to dry my clothes now. This saves me even more money than just the efficiency of the washer alone. And we love the song it plays when it's finished. It makes washing clothes cheery. =)

Easy to use, good operating instructions.
5 Star Review   By Nance on Home Depot - Feb 26, 2013

With its drain, filters, and tub clean cycle, this machine addresses the chronic issue of front loaders which is that all of the water does not drain out. These features keep the machine fresh smelling and mildew free. It seems to do a better job with smaller loads than my previous front loader. Though I would not consider it loud or noisy, it does make some odd, erratic noises as the water is loading.

Excellent Job Washing
5 Star Review   By cyble68 on Home Depot - Feb 26, 2013

We've had this for a few months now and it does a great job cleaning clothes even though I use the cold water cycle for everything. Not only is the washer very energy efficient but, because the spin is so effective, the drying time is down from about 40 minutes with our old top loader to about 20 minutes saving lots of dryer energy. It's very quite when sloshing the clothes about but a bit noisy when filling with water or draining water although that doesn't bother me. Plus, it's kinda fun to watch the clothes sloshing this way and that through the glass window.

No complaints, great delivery service Home Depot Key West!
5 Star Review   By HomeDepotPD on Home Depot - Feb 26, 2013

Have only had it a few weeks but impressed with it. Home Depot shipping was turned away at the gate by our gate guards (military base) due to a new rule we did not know about with no deliveries on weekends. The guards made an exception and we were able to call Home Depot and they returned the same day to redeliver. Bottom line, it was not their fault and they still made up for it. Good service!

Great value
4 Star Review   By MountainMama on Home Depot - Feb 24, 2013

I have owned this machine for two months and overall am pleased with it. The only drawback is the filter. Located down at the bottom behind a door, you must drain the water out first then unscrew the filter to remove any lint. The hose does not completely drain the water and when you unscrew the filter water pours out, including running under the machine. I had to move the machine to dry up the water. A very poor design.

Great washer
5 Star Review   By Beckboy on Home Depot - Feb 22, 2013

Bought this in January on a great sale. No problems at all, and are happy with the little amount of soap needed. We use a highly concentrated soap anyway (SA8 from Amway), and are able to use even less. Have had no problems with drying out the door. We dry after the last load and leave it fully open until the dryer is done. Then click the door shut. The Fresh Care feature is great, and the clothes come out quite dry, esp on high spin.

Great so far
5 Star Review   By popeyoni on Home Depot - Feb 20, 2013

This washing machine is nearly silent, washes very well and the clothes come out less wet (which helps them dry faster). The only drawbacks so far are that it takes longer to wash than a top loader with agitator and it requires a pedestal which adds to the price.

a success on the whole
4 Star Review   By happycustomer11 on Home Depot - Feb 19, 2013

This washing machine is very efficient, both in water usage and power usage. It has lots of features, and it weighs the laundry itself. It fits a lot of clothes at once and seems to get them clean, as far as I can tell. The only downside is that it takes 1 - 1 1/2 hours for a wash cycle, instead of 30-40 minutes, as my old top loader did. My guess is that the length of time has to do with the efficiency. So it's just a logistical issue. It makes somewhat odd off and on sounds at times, which sound loud right above it, but are not too bad. Otherwise, it's fairly quiet.

So Far So Good
5 Star Review   By SusD on Home Depot - Feb 19, 2013

We replaced our 10 yr old Kenmore with this machine. I like the ease of use and the many options for temp, size and type of load. The timer is a great feature. It lets you know how long before the cycle is complete. The drum is a great size, fit big loads (more so than my last machine). Instead of a buzzer going off when the load is done, there is a nice little charm... much more pleasant!

Lg washer and dryer is a smash!
5 Star Review   By Keir on Home Depot - Feb 18, 2013

I have had the LG 3.6 DOE washer and dryer for over a year and I love them. The washer uses little water while still cleaning your clothes. It spins them almost dry so that you use less dryer time...and this set is sharp looking and quiet. I had the Neptune Maytag front loader set before..we bought the set when it first came out.. I was so spoiled by the Neptune. The LG set is better..with more bells and whistles that makes life easier. I was hesitant about getting LG products I really did not know them...but I would not hesitate again..Love the product.

Problems with our new LG Washing Machine
3 Star Review   By ronr on Home Depot - Feb 12, 2013

We heard good things about the LG washing machine so we bought the WM2250CW pedestal model in Jan 2013 but we have some problems: water does not completely drain out and some of the option functions do not seem to work. Calls to LG concluded that we now need a service call. The machine is a few weeks old and we need a service call!?? We are disappointed to say the least.

Love this washer!
5 Star Review   By LittleBirdie on Home Depot - Feb 12, 2013

We recently had to return a Whirlpool top-loader to Costco because it would shred and shrink our clothes. This washer has been the complete opposite. It gets clothes so clean and is gentle on them at the same time. It's quiet and can handle more clothes in each load than I thought and still does a great job getting our clothes clean and fresh. I've washed a lot of hand washables and it's still been efficient and gentle. Wouldn't trade it for any other washer!

Recomended by Consumer Reports, lowest price front load high efficiency
5 Star Review   By WCityTer on Home Depot - Feb 12, 2013

After checking Consumer Reports, I purchased this washing machine. It was the highest rated front loading high efficiency washer under $1000. I built my own riser (has to be sturdy these really rock). To test it put 3 pounds of clothes in it and run it on spin rinse. I put in some urine stinky dog pads, no soap. It cleaned them with just water! no smell. impressive. I've since washed a moving blanket, pillows, comforters. Does a terrific job. (HD if you want my review don't tell me what I cannot say. Everyone knows prices change.)

Having to get familiar with features since they are setup differently than previous front loader. The pedestal is great for getting better access to the drum for loading and unloading. Having to get familiar to the amount of detergent to be used. It is considerably less than we used with previous front load washer

1 Star Review   By john on Home Depot - Jan 30, 2013

machine creates pipe chatter in the house making noise like it was drilling for gold through granite. Plummer came in and put in expansion tanks. Didn't work. Plummer stated thinks might be a internal valuse issue with unit. LG repair man came in, ran a cold water cycle for 5 minutes and there was no noise. Later ran normal wash cycle noise returned. Getting ready to drop the machine back to home depot.

Very happy so far
5 Star Review   By LookoutRanch on Home Depot - Jan 24, 2013

We got this washer at Home Depot about six months ago to replace an old front loader that had served us well but had begun to leak. We chose this model due to the "extra water" and the "cold wash" features, and we are glad we did. So far this has been an excellent washer. The ultimate test may be the dog beds, and it handles those fine. Big blankets and quilted bedspreads are no problem. My wife was worried about moving to one of the new high efficiency machines, but she has been thrilled with this washer. We live in the country and have horses and a big yard, so some of our clothes get pretty dirty. So far this washer has done a great job. We opted for the free delivery and installation option. The delivery/installer folks were nice but didn't do a very good job of leveling. Fortunately the washer comes with a handy tool for leveling, though you will need to supply your own level. Too early to comment on the quality or durability, but no problems so far.

5 Star Review   By Bobb on Home Depot - Jan 16, 2013

Home Depot was excellent. Washer is excellent except for one feature that may not bother everyone. The control panel placement is poor and it is hard to read. I wound up using a flashlight. No one at H.Depot pointed this out and I did not notice it probably because of the bright lighting in the . It washes fine. If I could change it, I would.

Almost perfect
5 Star Review   By Neven87 on Home Depot - Jan 15, 2013

Clothes come out clean, and it has lots of different modes to come out with a good balance of water/energy vs. cleanliness. The only problem I have with it is in the initial phase when the water comes in it lets out a loud whine. It doesn't last long and it's not a big problem.

Great Features, Noisy
2 Star Review   By David on Home Depot - Jan 7, 2013

The washer uses very little water and very little detergent, so you save money, but you cannot fill it because the load sensor always thinks the load is small, so it won't fill with enough water to clean full load properly. When filling with water, the washer is extremely noisy, the water fill valve in the washer squeals so loud, you can hear it in the entire house. We've owned other front loaders, never had this problem.

Does what it is supposed to!
5 Star Review   By vimishpur on Home Depot - Jan 6, 2013

A fairly basic front loader. Does an excellent job of cleaning while the spin cycle saves the dryer from extra drying. Bought this unit about 30 months ago. Favorite features: Hand wash cycle treats bicycle/work out clothes nicely! And the ability to program a favorite wash setting. Least favorite feature: Occasionally bleach does not totally drain from bleach dispenser. Gotta be careful to check after using bleach or it'll get into the next load. Never had issues with nasty odors. Tip: to prevent nasty odors we do three things: 1. Never leave wet clothes in the drum after the machine stops. 2. leave door open for several hours after last wash of day. 3. run a cycle with extra bleach a couple times per year. We looked at the steam features, etc but determined the base model was all we needed.

great washer - if it weren't a lemon!
1 Star Review   By Unhappy on Home Depot - Jan 2, 2013

The washer appears to have all of the features we wanted at a decent price, but started making a terrible racket in the spin cycle. After making mulitple calls, finally a service tech came out to look at it, only to say it has a "loose tub" and needed to be replaced. Two weeks later, no new washer.

Works great, saves water
5 Star Review   By jchrisj on Home Depot - Jan 1, 2013

The washer works great and is clearly using less water than my old top-loader. Wash times are longer than on the old washer but is completely automated so I don't have to do anything but set it up, load it and come back when it is done. There are a few limitations in the selections you can make - some options appear to be locked out. You can't select hot water for the delicate cycle, for instance. I would always prefer that an automated device (washer, dryer, camera, etc.) have a set of default settings but also have the ability to override any setting that doesn't compromise safety.

You can do much better
2 Star Review   By mwmmd on Home Depot - Dec 28, 2012

Purchased LG WM2250CW 2 weeks ago and have done several loads. This replaced a front load Kenmore made by Frigidaire which was quiet when new but bearings failed and became unbearable. The LG is not a quiet as our old unit and has a significant problem with vibration. The good reviews probably used this in a basement or on a concrete slab. Ours is in a utility room on the main floor (1 1/4" 2 layer plywood subfloor with 3/8" ceramic tile). The vibration and transmitted noise is intense. We were going to return it but found a solution, Vibrafix pads (google them). I couldn't believe it, but they actually work (look like hockey pucks). Quite difficult to install under the feet in our setting where the washer is built in, but possible. I believe the direct drive technology is just a cheaper method of building this washer, if it really worked others would copy the idea. Instead, it appears to directly couple the tub vibration and noise to the motor mount and then to the frame. The isolation a belt provides is necessary with the high speed spin cycles. You must install water hammer arresters at the water supply as this unit is constantly turning the water on and off very abruptly which makes a loud banging noise from the pipes. I used Mini-Rester from Sioux Chief, easy to install and works. By the way, don't fall for the "you need the optional water supply hoses" story. The washer is supplied with high quality hoses and the warranty is void if you replace them (read the fine print). The load sensing is ineffective, always registering a small load even when the tub is packed. Be careful if you bought new hoses as the washer connections are plastic and the hose connections are metal. Very easy to get them cross threaded and the the unit would be junk (hence the disclaimer in the warranty about changing the hoses). Even though the unit was cheap on Black Friday week, you don't get what you pay for.

It cleans nice...
4 Star Review   By Amtrak8 on Home Depot - Dec 27, 2012

I love the washing machine, it works well. My biggest and right now, my only complaint is it vibrates BAD. I have tried to balance it more than 100 times. In fact, I have tried so much I have worn out the tool it comes with to do it. I even built a wood platform to make sure it wasn't the floor flexing. Still no luck. I finally just secured it to the floor and it works better. Still vibrates. But, as I have found, this seems to be a common problem with front loaders. You would think the manufacturers would work on a fix.
