What a wonderful Change....
5 Star Review   By KathyA on Home Depot - Jun 11, 2013

I love this washer and dryer set. I previously had a base model top loading set which worked fine, but it was intended for use in a laundry room not a kitchen which is where I had been using them due to the layout of the house I purchased. This set fits nicely under a standard height/depth counter and works like a dream. Quiet, efficient and does a great job of cleaning. All of the setting are quite amazing too. I even love the way the soap dispenser works. I am very very pleased with these.

5 Star Review   By Crazyforquilting on Home Depot - Jun 11, 2013

After reseaching Consumer Reports at our public library, I decided the LG 2.3 cu ft. was the best choice. Because we have limited space in our condo for stackable units, only 27 inches wide, the LG 2.3 washer was a perfect fit. I was amazed at the amount of laundry this washer holds and, this is important, how very quiet it runs. Clothes come out fresh and clean each and every load. It is a wonderful energy efficient washer that performs as promised.

Good product but not so good installation from home depot
4 Star Review   By Chen on Home Depot - Apr 23, 2013

So far only used for few times, everything looks good. The control panel is fairly complex compared to my perious washer and need more learning time. Took out one star because I am not 100% satisfied with the installation. I brought the vibration absorption pad with the washer. After the installation guy moved in the washer and left, I found one washer's leg did not sit properly on the pad. If later on the location of the pad is shifted, the washer will lose one support and fall down. That will become a disaster (flooding and washer jumping around....). Also the guy did not do the washer balancing well. He tested the balence of the washer in empty load, but while I put my dirty close in and do the real test run, the waher virbate violently. I adjust the front legs again by meself and the virbation came to acceptable range. Apparently the installation have room for improvement.....

really nice
4 Star Review   By Cindarella on Home Depot - Apr 16, 2013

Apparently I had a Cinderella complex, content with sweeping the floor when I could have been at the ball. I didn't even know I deserved more than the average front loading washing machine I had used prior to this one. But now that I have this one, what a difference! I only had a few models I could choose from, given the small size I needed for my space. This machine has the largest interior bin of all of the existing units in that category and it works like a charm, It's quiet, easy to use, and feels substantive. Glass slippers do come in my size after all!

The best I could find for the space
5 Star Review   By richierich on Home Depot - Mar 30, 2013

My wife and I bought a new house that's over 5,000 square feet. Unfortunately, the previous owners who did an extensive remodel to the first floor sought to make the utility room the size more appropriate for a condo to which they eventually took their mini Bosch washer/dryer. I looked at the Bosch but was told by numerous sales people that the brand isn't dependable and parts can take a long time. So, I kept going back to this tandem but hesitated for a long while due to my fears about the capacity of the loads. Even contemplated taking out a wall and reconfiguring the space but that wasn't feasible so decided to take the plunge. First, this washer holds more than I imagined and yes it's just me and my wife but still I have been impressed. Make sure that the unit is totally level (the installers failed at this) because if not it shakes violently though after the readjustment this completely improved. We never had a front load before and I am amazed at how little water is used though the results are just as good as the old style machines. By the way, Samsung says this unit and the dryer are both 24" wide but in reality it's around 23 1/2" wide for each so you have a bit more width to play with which in our case was good. So far so good, both units are slick, run good and easy to figure out the settings (most of the time I use the quick wash and dry). I usually don't buy the extended product warranties but did so in this case as I don't want to worry about anything for a long time. By the way, HD seems to have the best warranty price, beats both Lowe's and Best Buy.

Washes well, a bit noisy
4 Star Review   By Anne on Home Depot - Feb 19, 2013

We've had this machine one year and so far it's held up well. We use it daily for our family of six, and it does a good job against the stains in our kids' clothes. It's noisy, as are most front loaders, but quieter than our last (European) front loader. I would recommend this washer.

Quality in a Compact
5 Star Review   By pants on Home Depot - Feb 12, 2013

While initially skeptical, made me a believer in compact washers. Did a lot of research and this was the best one I could find that fit my apartment's stackable closet. Great value and lots of options. I'll never need quarters again! I should mention that I didn't install it myself, but it didn't seem unnecessarily complicated.

Quiet, no-fuss, easy-to-use, love it
5 Star Review   By WarmWorld on Home Depot - Feb 5, 2013

I debated between Samsung, LG, and Maytag. Internet has a love/hate relationship with them all. LG has proven to be quiet, easy to use, and fast when I need it to be. End of cycle chime is very agreeable, and I hate chimes!

So far, so good
5 Star Review   By Karlovmost on Home Depot - Jan 16, 2013

We've had the LG WM1355HW for 10 days. So far it's run very well and laundry is clean. It's much more quiet than the washer it replaced and provides quite a few added features including a high speed spin cycle which reduces the time of drying. Our major concern was the size of the machine; it needed to be small enough to fit in our closet, yet we were concerned that 2.3 cubic feet would mean that our normal load would be too large. Of course this is all relative, but it's worked out OK for us. A hamper-full of dirty clothes still fits-tightly--into this new machine. So far I'd recommend.

Horrible machine and horrible service!!!!
1 Star Review   By Veryunhappycustomer on Home Depot - Dec 6, 2012

I am the mother of five kids and really needed a machine that could handle daily loads of laundry. I purchased this washer and spent the money thinking that I was buying quality. I was completely wrong. We have had multiple service calls since we bought this product. This year we have had two major service issues. The first problem took almost a month to resolve and this time around we are without a washer for close to a month once again. This incident so far has required three visits from the service man and now we have to wait ANOTHER week for the part he needs to come in and then more time after that to be put on the service schedule. The technician failed to diagnose the problem the first and second time he came. The second time he came he started up the machine and then left my house, after which the front door of the machine opened and FLOODED THE ENTIRE BASEMENT, resulting in an insurance claim, among other things. When the flood occurred I was promised by the service company that he would return immediately to my house, but he never showed up or called. My floor is ruined and my aggravation level is about as high as it can get. Do yourself a favor and buy a different brand.

Shakes the house
3 Star Review   By Theoldfolks on Home Depot - Nov 14, 2012

After reading a number of reviews on compact washing machines, we chose the LG because of reviews that said it was quiet. Our only laundry room in our new house is on the second floor, up a set of spiral stairs. Guys from HD did a great job maneuvering it into place. I bought optional vibration pads to help reduce any residual vibration. Well, when we do a normal load, the whole house shakes and the machine walks across the floor. This is on medium spin! I don't know what would happen if we tried high or very high...dread having to do laundry.

Don't buy this washer!!!
1 Star Review   By UnhappyCustomer on Home Depot - Oct 30, 2012

I purchased this washer on the assumption that LG provides quality appliances. Boy was I wrong. After spending about $1000 on the washer, and owning it for just over a year, it failed. The electric board and the motor were faulty and needed to be replaced. LG referred me to a technician who was great, and fixed it, but LG wouldn't offer and assistance. The fix costed quite a bit of money, and for a single guy who doesn't do a ton of laundry, I couldn't believe they wouldn't extend the warranty for me. Poor quality product, and poor customer service.

Small but Good
4 Star Review   By NoMoreLaundromat on Home Depot - Oct 17, 2012

I got this because it was just about the only front loading washer I could find that was smaller than 27 inches and would fit down the stairs to my basement. I was a little concerned about the capacity but I am able to do a full load of queen sheets without a problem. It has a lot of buttons if you want options, but they don't make it over complicated if you don't use them. I normally just press the power button, turn the dial to cotton or permanant press and then press start. The one down side is that the door cannot be reversed. The way my laundry is set up the washer has to be on the right and so it makes it a little more difficult to move clothes between the washer and dryer when the open door is in the way. I was also dissapointed that they didn't make a matching gas dryer.

Perfect for small apartments
5 Star Review   By adfghg123jkh on Home Depot - Oct 9, 2012

I was disappointed when I moved and realized I needed to downgrade to smaller washer and dryer due to the small laundry closet i had. I already owned LG so i knew they were good qaulity. I am very happy with this washer. It holds more stuff then I had imagined for its size. It washes clothes great! Clothes come out practically dry!!! I have the matching condensing dryer as well and love it too. If you have to go for a smaller machine then this is it!

Great Washer - Problematic Construction
4 Star Review   By Elizabeth on Home Depot - Oct 1, 2012

I've owned this washer (and the matching dryer) for about a year and a half. It does a great job of cleaning clothing. That being said, we've had quite a few problems with workmanship. From the time we got it, there were issues with the door lock (as in it locked and we couldn't get the door open). We had repairs done by the company several times under the initial warranty, and then again under an extended warranty. We finally identified the problem as a problem with the internal wiring - someone in the factory had actually put a screw through the giant internal wire bundles. So the washer was having a small internal short every single time we used the washer. I honestly don't understand how that wasn't caught at the factory. So if your washer works right out of the box, it's probably going to be fine. If it doesn't, be prepared for a year or so of repairs before they figure out what's wrong. On the plus side, I had a GREAT experience with LG support. I've talked to at least a dozen people and only had one negative experience.

Love my Barbie washer!
4 Star Review   By MichWhippet on Home Depot - Aug 21, 2012

I was prepared to dislike any replacement to my Kenmore front loader after 12 years, but I am VERY pleasantly surprised. The washer / dryer space in my condo is actually just a closet with bi-fold doors in the guest bathroom (common in condos) so my options for a side by side set up were extremely limited (I assume your's are, too, or you wouldn't be considering this machine!) - unfortunately, there are no decent machines with a depth of 27" or less except this one - which must be the reason it's so expensive (and the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars). The washing capacity is VERY SMALL, but that's my only gripe. I just have to do more loads - not a huge issue since I don't mind doing laundry. Two pillows fit very snuggly, but a heavy queen sized waffle weave blanket fits fine. Everything I've washed has come out very clean and fresh. Even my dog's bedding smells clean as new! The wash cycle on the normal settings is long, but I've adjusted the soil level to low to reduce wash time. Even the short wash on the low soil cycle washes wonderfully. There are many, many settings to fit your laundering needs. The reviews about cutting down on dry time are true. One last thing, it's super quiet, also important if you live in small space. I'm a die-hard front loader fan, so I'm glad the only choice was this one. I hope I'm as enthusiastic about this machine in 10 years, but for the time being, I love it.

A great washing machine
5 Star Review   By acs2012 on Home Depot - Jul 10, 2012

This machine has lived up to my expectations. I am very fond of LG, we also have a full size dryer. I purchased this as a second washing machine. This washing machine fits nicely in a small space, washes clothes very well, and has many features. If you are looking to fit a nice washing machine in a small space, this is the unit for you. Delivery and setup were great too, very happy with Home Depot.

Great Power in a small space!
5 Star Review   By mklajade on Home Depot - Jun 6, 2012

We use cloth diapers. Need I say more? Only a few days after we came home from the hospital our old washer bit the dust. After researching the limited variety of washers that would fit in our small space (condo in boston) we were frustrated that the smaller washers were more costly than even the huge heavy duty washers, thinking it wouldn't be as good. We were so wrong! This washer has the power of the huge super-hero washers in 1/2 the space! My son is almost 9 months old now and I've never even had to bleach his diapers to get the stains out. The babywear cycle is so powerful my friends are amazed by how white these diapers after they come out :)

Perfect for small spaces
4 Star Review   By cleaner on Home Depot - Apr 24, 2012

I had to replace a washer that was built under a counter and had space restrictions. This fit the bill perfectly! Wish that once you turned off the sound feature it stayed off, and that I knew where to put in liquid bleach - assuming it's in the detergent dispenser, but don't want to ruin any clothes!

3 Star Review   By Sandordc on Home Depot - Mar 17, 2012

The washer seems to be fine. But the pedestal delivered did not fit the washer and it has to be retuneded to HD. Without the pedestal the user has to bend down more than what would be normally comfortable to load the machine.

Off to a great start
5 Star Review   By pablo on Home Depot - Feb 7, 2012

I've only had the machine a couple of weeks, and I'm very pleased. It's quieter in general than my old top loader. For a compact machine you can fit quite alot into it. On the uneven floors of my older home there is some vibration at the highest spin speeds, but "High", which is 3rd from the fastest, is plenty to spin the clothes dry without vibration. It's a little powerhouse!

5 Star Review   By Margarita on Home Depot - Jan 18, 2012

Clean design, like the big ones, yet compact enough for small laundry rooms or kitchens. Perfect for a one or two person household. Efficient, quiet, fast, no vibration. I love it! It is hard to find, though, not an item that is available year long. But it is well worth the wait. Perfect with it's matching dryer.

Efficient washer
5 Star Review   By joya on Home Depot - Nov 23, 2011

This washing machine has stored washing cycles and a quick wash for lightly soiled clothing. The speed of the spin cycle leaves clothes damp thus cutting down on the drying time. In fact, we are not even using a dryer because of the quick dry time.

Bought this to fit in the closet where my old washing machine was. The new normal size machines are too deep for my space. Can't see spending near $1000! on the matching dryer though. Lots of new, old style that fit.

Looking at washing machines online was the first time I noticed how large most of the new front loading machines actually are and none of those would fit comfortably into the space even if we could fit it through our non standard small doorway. I actually like the slightly smaller capacity as almost never have enough laundry to fill the current enormous capacity machines. It does comfortably clean a full set of queen sized sheets. I am still firmly old fashioned in believing that water is what carries the dirt away so I like the "use extra water" feature. And I want to be able to spin only as I seem to end up with soggy stuff that just needs wrung out surprisingly regularly. On the fun side I love the happy songs this machine sings. A few notes when you turn it on, and as you make your washing choices and press the start button. Then a full cherry little tune when it is finished. Much better than the usual "BLAT" signal. (you can turn this off.) It is cute too-so cute I really want to order the matching dryer even tho our dryer still works. On, yes, and it seems to get things clean too but I am a poor judge of that as, like most Americans, I tend to wash my clothes after every wear-much more frequently than really necessary. Finally Home Depot with their free shipping and installation and how quickly they could get it to my doorstep easily won the choice of who to buy from. Very happy with the timely service and the marketing decision to make the price inclusive. I hate shops that sucker me with a good price and then nickel and dime me with extra for this and extra for that.

Excellent features

I love all the options - type of fabric, soil level, spin speed. The machine is very quiet and plays a charming tune when it's done.

This product fit all my needs. Compact, efficient, quiet.
5 Star Review   By chicadelatigre on Home Depot - Jul 11, 2011

This washer was exactly what I needed. It had to be small to fit inside a small washer closet. It is efficient and quiet on the spin cycle and my clothes come out smelling clean and fresh. I am very pleased with this washer and would highly recommend it.

Perfect for our needs!
5 Star Review   By ms511 on Home Depot - May 3, 2011

So far this washer has been everything we expected. We had a small space to work with so our options were limited but they washer fits perfectly with room to spare. This was a great upgrade from our old washer and does a great job. It is pretty quiet and I have to agree that the tune at the end does make me smile every time :) I definitely recommend this washer for stackable units and small spaces. It is big enough to get our loads clean but still fits in our tight condo.

All the Features of the Best Full Size Models
5 Star Review   By JudyM1 on Home Depot - May 1, 2011

This washer was installed in a rental cabin after the old one died after only 5 years. This washer has most of the features of my large-capacity, full featured washer at home, right down to the blinking blue LED lights & tinkling tones when you turn it on & set the cyle. It has a much larger capacity than the old washer, and has lots more features. We had to replace the detergent drawer pull-out 3 or 4 times because of the way it was made on the old one - so confusing, and my cabin guests kept breaking it by trying to open it incorrectly. The old one also had a lock that stayed on for two full minutes after the cycle finished, and impatient yanking on the door broke the latch and also the door frame. This one has a sleek, intuitive design, and although more expensive than most compacts, you'll find it worth the price. You won't be giving up any of the features of the top-of-the-line full size models. It's a pleasure to use and so user-friendly to my cabin guests.

Great machine
5 Star Review   By pamcc on Home Depot - Apr 30, 2011

I have a small space and am limited in my choices. 5 years ago I bought a Maytag. It came with a 1yr warranty. Almost to that year the water intake sensors burned out and I had to get an in-line filter for my water line to prevent that from happening again. At five years the machine stopped spinning. You could hear the belt slipping. The machine was made so that the entire motor would have to be replaced at a cost close to that of a new machine!!! This LG has filters on the water intakes so that problem would never happen, as well as other filters the Maytag lacked. The best news is that the motor has a 10 year warranty! There are also more power saving options and other features that make me very happy with this purchase!!!

DO NOT BUY AN LG WASHER!
1 Star Review   By DCHEN on Home Depot - Apr 5, 2011

I bought this LG washer on Feb. 28 from Home Depot. It was delivered later that week, and it has been DEFECTIVE from the beginning. When it entered the spin cycle, it shook so violently it jumped six inches across the floor! I called LG who sent a repairman. He said he thought the drum and suspension were broken, and he needed to order those parts. He came back this weekend with the parts and spent SIX HOURS taking the whole machine apart in my living room and putting in the new parts. IT STILL DOES NOT WORK! When I called LG again, I asked for a replacement machine. They said all they could do was send the repairman back again. I told them it was unacceptable, that I had paid close to $1000 for a brand-new machine, not a Frankenstein one of refurbished parts! They still refused. I have since found hundreds of consumer complaints on the web about LG washers. I wish I had read them before my purchase. So don't make my mistake - DO NOT BUY AN LG WASHER!

Good Little Machine...Demensions Deceptive
4 Star Review   By McAllenguy on Home Depot - Mar 31, 2011

I ordered this from my local Home Depot store on Sunday and it was just delivered yesterday. It's a great, quiet little machine. My only complaint: the demensions were not exactly correct - so if you're planning on putting this one in a tight space like mine, be sure to leave yourself a couple more inches. It replaced a (very bad five-year-old) Maytag that fit perfectly, this one is about the same depth - however, I was surprised that I had to move the track for the bifold doors that enclose the area where it is located. The BASE is as deep as the specs say, but the front of the machine is convex, and the door sticks out further - so I couldn't close my closet doors without moving them. It's run several loads so far and does a great job - very efficient.

DISAPPOINTED WITH LG WASHER DRYER COMBO
1 Star Review   By culygal on Home Depot - Jan 17, 2011

I replace my MALBER r washer/dryer combo with the LG and quiet disappointed as I have been having trouble with it at least 9 months after purchasing this product. The MALBER washer dryer/combo that I had for 15 years , never had to call for service not once. The LG - I have called for service twice. I start to wash my 10 year old size 8 boys winter coat in the washing machine at 7:30p and its now 10:45p and its still hanging at 10 minutes.

BIG MISTAKE
1 Star Review

Weakness: Quality

I just spent $2000.00 on this washer and the matching dryer. $225.00 having them stacked and installed. The installers wanted to make sure the appliances were working right before they left. First time trying the new washer and it does not work. Someting about a defective valve. The washer is defective and needs to be repaired. Thanks LG for sending a defective appliance! Great quality control.

Love This Thing
5 Star Review   By coloradokim on Home Depot - Oct 8, 2010

I purchased this machine in February and absolutely love it. I am a bit of a clean freak and I like the sanitize feature for whites, sheets and towels and it's so quiet that I can participate in conference calls while the machine is running. I also enjoy the cute little jingle when the load is finished.

Does not heat up the water
1 Star Review   By calibreton on Home Depot - Aug 3, 2010

If you do not have a line of hot water coming to the machine, it will NOT do a warm or hot water wash. Seriously? Yes, unlike my 10 year old washer, will not. Now, I understand that this "feature" is part of being energy efficient, and I am fine with that ... AS LONG as you make it very clear to prospective buyers!!! Even the handbook says the hot water line is "optional". Seriously, optional? Do you know anyone doing strictly cold washes? For the rest, it is quiet, seems well built.
