This washer is great
5 Star Review   By Boyzmama on Home Depot - Jun 12, 2012

I have had this washer for over a year now and I haven't had any problems. It was hard to find one that I liked that was comparible to my old Whirlpool. The only thing this one doesn't have is a signal alarm to let you know when the load is done. My unit is in the basement so that was a nice feature to have on my old washer. I saw in other reviews that the motor has a smell to it the first few times you use the washer and this is true. I do so much laundry that the smell was gone in a week. Every once in a while a load will not spin out all the way, but I think that may have something to do with the size of the load. I just send it back through a spin cycle and its fine. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase.

This is an honest product that produces honest results.
5 Star Review   By Bud7 on Home Depot - Jun 18, 2011

I am thrilled with the tub size as it is larger than my last washer. The added extra large water level is ideal for a load of sheets. The spin cycle gets the clothes so dry that it saves dryer time, thus saving energy. It is a bit loud, and still has that new smell, but the performance of the product far outweighs this. Top marks.

It's fine. It's a washing machine....clothes get clean. It's a little too loud while it's agitating. I like the multiple water temps feature

4 Star Review   By bkhouston on Home Depot - May 31, 2011

again, seamless delivery. i also had the adjacent dryer from admiral delivered. here's the pros: - large enough capacity (i live alone and its most than enough. i almost think it's too much! a couple or a family of three could fair just fine) - quick washing and very clean clothes (my apts provided my w/d previously and these washer kicks it to the curb!) - easy to use (im not for the fancy stuff. i just want it to work and wash my clothes! this does just that!) i havent noticed any cons yet but maybe im just in euphoria from the easy operation and the happiness i have after having to haul my clothes to the laudromat for a month before these came. it's really been a relief! im also a first time w/d owner but it does the basic necesity that any bells and whistles missing havent popped out to me.

Excellent Value
4 Star Review   By Vic1945 on Home Depot - May 14, 2011

If you are looking for a basic machine that simply washes clothes well and does not cost much, this is a great choice. I have had it a couple of weeks now and it is everything I hoped it would be. I rated it a 4 only because it is a basic machine and I reserve 5s for things that are truly exceptional. I ordered it online through Home Depot and the delivery was handled perfectly. The guys were on time, clean, neat and nice and they had the old washer out and the new one installed in about 45 minutes & maybe less. Overall, I could not be happier with the product, price and service I received.

Not bad for the price!
4 Star Review   By donja61 on Home Depot - May 5, 2011

This little machine is decent for the little bit of money I paid for it. The guys that delivered it were fast and courteous. I have had this machine for 3 weeks now and it is performing well and as others have mentioned the new smell of the hoses and whatnot is finally dying down. I had an old Maytag that finally bit the dust...so I am hoping this will do me for a little while as I only have me and 1 child at home to do laundry for so it shouldn't be as hard on this machine as an entire family. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating is it just feels less sturdy than what I am used to. Hope this is helpful to someone looking to buy an inexpensive machine!

5 Star Review   Home Depot

Overall this is a great product. I have used it about two months and 4 or 5 times a week. there was a burning smell for about two weeks then it was ok. I think the machine was just new and breaking in. So far good machine and cleans clothes well. A basic machine but it works great and a great buy!

Easy to use, easy on the wallet.
5 Star Review   By CM43026 on Home Depot - May 1, 2011

When our 15 year old top loading washer finally died, we needed something to replace it. We were also (like many other people these days) on a very tight budget. This model was the least expensive super capacity unit we could find locally and you can't beat the free delivery and haul away offered by Home Depot. This model is very basic but that's exactly what we were looking for. Nothing too fancy or expensive. Some people complain about this one being noisy but again it's no noisier than our previous washing machine. Most importantly: it gets the job done.

for the money, this is a 5 star value. The machine is a little loud, but this was expected. The cleaning is good, and the settings are more than we need. Even better was the home depot installation. They fixed a water leak we had for no charge and were clean and courteous. Thanks!

Good basic washer
5 Star Review   By ikn2005 on Home Depot - Apr 30, 2011

I love everything about this washer, especially how quickly it gets a load done. It is very easy to use (no fancy settings) and gets the job done. It would be nice if it had a fabric softener dispenser but I knew that it did not when I bought it so I can not complain. Delivery and hook up were great, I will soon be back for the matching dryer.

So far . so good! We've had the machine for a couple of months, and its been working flawlessly! The only complaint is that the capacity is not as great as our last washer .. but what do you want for $300 plus tax including delivery, set up and removal of our old appliance!

Good Basic Washing Machine
4 Star Review   By PAG on Home Depot - Apr 11, 2011

With children no longer in the house, wanted to try a less expensive washer when needed a new one. Everything I read said this machine was just fine. It is. There's no true delicate cycle and dogs' floor pillows won't fit in the tub but I also did not pay $700-$1300 for this washer. It is a good washing machine and for $300, it is GREAT. This is my 3rd major appliance from Home Depot online and same SUPER guys delivered, took away old one, and installed new one. Best delivery people I've ever dealt with including making sure washer was level on my old uneven floor. Washer does the job and would have given it 5 stars if hot water were really hot and if tub a little bigger. Clothes are clean. No loud noise, no knocking while spinning, just a good washer and best price I ever paid for a washer. Home Depot with free delivery and take away was by far the best place to buy this machine; same with my earlier purchases.

1 Star Review   By 123marie on Home Depot - Apr 9, 2011

does not rinse the clothes - rinse cycle water only fills up to 1/4th -- on all load levels - the clothes on a large load cycle do not rinse all the soap out - If you want a machine that only works for small load of chothes and not medium or large this is the machine for you - for a family with children DO NOT BUY - IT COST EXTRA TO RUN THE WASH CYLCE AGAIN TO GET THE SOAP OUT. WATER IS VERY EXPENSIVE, ALONG WITH THE ELECTRIC

Excellent washer for the price!
4 Star Review   By DHOLL on Home Depot - Mar 20, 2011

I have owned this washer for one month. I wanted to make sure that I allowed enough time to produce an honest review. So far, this washer is performing as expected. In my opinion, it is a solid machine that does exactly what it is designed to do - clean clothes. It does not have a zillion options like some of the high-end models have. However, I bet it would rival some of the high-end models on cleaning power. Let me explain why... The Admiral by Maytag is a machine that does not sacrifice performance by automatically adjusting options like some other machines do. It does not try to save water or energy. It gives you 100% of both to maximize performance, but it allows the user to manually adjust what cycle is needed and how much water to use. In my opinion, this method cleans better than the "high efficiency" models, but may use a little more energy and water. PROS -- 01. Cleans like a champ! 02. Spins water out like a champ! (reduces dry time!) 03. Cost friendly! 04. Manual cycle control - Normal, Permanent press and Gentle. The gentle cycle is very nice! 05. Manual water level control. (saves water!) 06. Large Capacity! (cubic feet) 07. Looks good! 08. Solid construction! 08. Easy to use! CONS -- 01. Somewhat loud (not overbearing though) 02. Smell on startup. (It does have a break-in period of about 2 weeks of casual use) The smell is not bad really. It just smells like new parts heating up for the first time. It goes away, so not really a con after 2 or 3 weeks. 03. Cold only rinse. (not sure if this is a con for the machine) Here is the reason that I list it under "con" - I live in Charlotte NC, and in the winter, the tap water is like ice water from the refrigerator. My clothes come out clean, but super cold from the water and the extremely fast spin cycle. Not really a big deal since the wash cycle will wash in whatever water temp you want to select. Extended review - The ordering process was perfect! The Home Depot has there act together and I will definitely be coming back for whatever it is that I need. Free delivery of my new washer up 3 flights of stairs and picked up my old one! I scheduled it for Saturday and they arrived during the time frame provided. Took about 10 minutes. I had my old one ready to go and I installed my new one myself, so I can't comment on "installation". Perfect experience! Thanks Home Depot !!! :)

Cheap Price, Cheap Product
2 Star Review   By MustangFL on Home Depot - Mar 19, 2011

I was looking for a low-priced washer - nothing fancy. This looked like it fit my criteria - low price, hot-warm-cold water, and fast-med-slow speeds. Not the case though.... THIS WASHER HAS ONE SPEED - FAST. No matter what the description says, it has just one speed, and it's a vigorous wash cycle. The delicate cycle is a joke. It consists of several seconds of the high speed wash, then pausing for several seconds, then several more seconds of high speed wash, over and over! It's really a terrible design! Nothing "delicate" about it. For the water temps, none of them get hot, warm at best. I think it's how they get the energy rating label...by using less hot water, it in theory uses less electric. Again marketing talk, and bad design. We've had it for about 6 weeks. It seems to clean clothes fine. But it sure beats the heck out of them in the process. It's also pretty loud. It has a very loud bang at the end of the spin cycle. As the clothes are spinning, it does not slow the tub down, it literally stops it on a dime! Bang! I would not buy this washer again. Knowing what I know now, I'd spend an extra $100 or so for a different unit.

Admiral, bad!
1 Star Review   By JasonDe on Home Depot - Mar 15, 2011

I had a washer for about ten years before I retired it, then I went to home depot for a replacement. Admiral seemed like a viable choice and I couldn't find too many bad reviews on it, so I bought one. It was curbside delivery. I had to put it on a dolly and get it into the laundry room myself. Curbside was the only option given. Anyway, I got it in and installed without issue, on my own. It ran great for nearly six months before it started having problems. The washer fills to about half capacity then just sits and does nothing. Sometimes the same load will have to be fun three times because of this problem. Who knows what else will go wrong? don't buy an admiral. And don't write reviews on your cell phone, it's very difficult!

1 Star Review   By Getitright on Home Depot - Mar 10, 2011

Mine's a lemon. From the first time I used it, it's had a knocking sound when in operation. It's actually worked okay for about two years, but now is failing to spin the load very dry. Put it sopping wet into the dryer, takes all day. I would not buy this brand, ever again.

This was my first major purchase at Home Depot. I purchased this product as a gift for a dear friend. She was delighted with the delivery, manners and kindness that the gentlemen showed her and the quickness it took to haul the old away and install the new washer. I will continue to purchase from Home Depot

Gets the Job Done for the Price
5 Star Review   By DandB on Home Depot - Feb 20, 2011

We've installed the 2nd generation of this washer in a rental house. The pump on the first unit burned out after 5 yrs use and as it was nearly the same price to repair the pump as it was to purchase a new unit - we bought the new unit. The renters hoped we'd get the same machine...which we did. We're all very happy with the machine.

Terrible
1 Star Review   By nsynkarynne23 on Home Depot - Jan 31, 2011

Washer leaves clothes sopping wet. Within first year had them out for service 3 times. Although they're backed by Maytag, the customer services is terrible. After replacing 2 parts in the first year, now I call for the same problem, clothes not ringing out, and they say that even though it's the exact same problem that hasn't been corrected, there's nothing we can do and we'll have to pay for services. Timer also went bad within first year, so it wasn' tadvancing. We'd come down to the clothes sitting in a tub full of water because it hadn't gone to the next cycle. Terrible terrible terrible customer service on Maytag's part. I know Maytag is supposed to be the best but I will never buy Maytag or Admiral again. Complete garbage.

Basic washing machine
4 Star Review   By washingmomma on Home Depot - Jan 22, 2011

It has been a couple of weeks since I've purchased the machine and it gets heavy use at my house. It is not unusual for me to do laundry every day, sometimes several loads a day. It is a basic washing machine....no frills. It did smell a little funny the first couple of times I used it, but the smell seems to be dissapating over use. It is still new and I wouldn't anticipate any problems this soon....seems to be doing a great job so far.

Good machine
5 Star Review   By Buzzer on Home Depot - Jan 10, 2011

So far, so good. Got it a month ago, and this is a very good machine for a good price. It does everything we need it to do & well. It has permanent press, normal & gentle cycles, plenty of temperature combinations, and I especially like the 4 load levels. The gentle cycle is a little different, but works fine. And I really don't get all the complaints about the noise. I guess it's all relative, because compared to the clunker it replaced, this Admiral is whisper quiet. I just hope it lasts a long time.

Clothes Beater
1 Star Review   By Handmaiden on Home Depot - Dec 27, 2010

We've had this machine for 3 months and when I bought it online it was advertised as being 2 speeds. Well folks they now do not represent it as 2 speeds but it does say it has a gentle cycle which is false. I let the clothes soak and agitate for a few seconds then proceed with the one cycle......clothes beater !!!! Be warned....

I bought with washer in june 2010. This is December 2010, just six months later, and it does not spin the clothes. Washer just stops, and you have to go back and manually set it on spin to finish the load. Also water leaked from washer and got my basement all wet. Do not buy this washer.

Bad quality machine
1 Star Review   By Vasat8pb on Home Depot - Nov 15, 2010

We purchased this machine 2 months ago. It worked fine at first. Around 3 weeks ago, the spin cycle refused to function, unless it was set to spin separately from the wash cycle. This alone is not a big issue, however, now it has stopped doing the wash cycle completely. No matter what the setting, it just soaks the clothes and just sits there while the water drains slowly. It is now a completely non-functional machine within 2 months of purchase.

Not Reliable
1 Star Review   By Dee111 on Home Depot - Nov 13, 2010

I purchased this washer in Sept 2009 and the washer stopped working in Nov 2010. I called the repairman and I was told that the transmission will need to be replaced and it would be best to just purchase another washer than spend that kind of money. I did not purchase an extended warranty so this would be an out of pocket expense. I'm very disappointed that the washer stopped working in such a short period of time. I will not recommend purchasing this washer. Now I have to buy a new washer!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Machine for a great price
5 Star Review   By Rogie on Home Depot - Oct 30, 2010

We purchased this machine 3 weeks ago and have been very pleased. It is easy to use, it is quiet even on the spin cycle. The spin cycle removes more water than our old machine did. We are very happy with our purchase especially since we bought it on sale. The free delivery and removal of our old machine by Home Depot was a real bonus. We would highly recommend this washing machine to anyone who is looking for a basic machine at a great price.

Good value for the price
5 Star Review   By Maria86314 on Home Depot - Oct 30, 2010

Ordering process was smooth and easy. Delivery was set up, confirmed and they called again right before they came. Prompt and courteous. Brought in the new - took away the old. Runs quietly. Simple and easy to use. Not a lot of fancy bells and whistles - just a basic, worth the money - washer. Happy with our purchase. We also bought the dryer and are pleased with that as well. Will definitely buy online from Home Depot again.

Punkrock Washer - Cheap, Fast, and Noisy!
4 Star Review   By TwentyNineOneSix on Home Depot - Oct 19, 2010

It's an old-fashioned idea, having a product that just does what you need it to, and this guy does that just fine, with plenty of options really. 4 load sizes, 4 temp settings and lots of cycle options. Otherwise, no bells and whistles or touchpanel computer terminals with USB ports or whatever else comes on washers these days. The only draw back is that it's a little noisy, but not inordinately so. It's also inexpensive, and that's nice.

HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE
4 Star Review   By FRAZE on Home Depot - Oct 18, 2010

THIS WAS A REPLACEMENT FOR A 15 YEAR OLD AMANA THAT NEEDED A $200 PART. I HAVE ONLY HAD IT FOR A WEEK BUT HAVE DONE SEVERAL LOADS OF LAUNDRY. THE CYCLES SEEM FASTER THAN ON MY OLD ONE BUT I KIND OF EXPECTED THAT CONSIDERING THE AGE OF MY OLD MACHINE. THE UNIT SEEMS TO WORK VERY WELL. ALTHOUGH I HAVEN'T PUT ANY THING VERY SOILED THROUGH IT YET. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT IT IS QUITE A BIT LOUDER THAN MY OLD MACHINE. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT CHANGES FROM ONE CYCLE TO THE NEXT. OVERALL FOR THE MONEY, IT IS A GOOD BUY.

Great washer for the money, very happy with it so far 9/2010 works great!. We will see if it will last as my old Whirlpool did for 23 years, Ha Ha. The installers delivered quickly and set it up properly and I was good to go. Positive experience with Home Depot.

Great function, just SMELLS bad
3 Star Review   By PamelaM on Home Depot - Sep 24, 2010

Love how well both the W/D work (they wash and dry quickly). As stated in other reviews, the washer dial ticks/ minutes are a bit off, but workable when you know what to expect. However, I'm now on my 2nd washer, and they've had this irritating problem that they smell REALLY bad (burning sulfur or rubber?), especially when HOT water is used, and during the spin cycle, regardless of the water temp. I've been told by the manufacturer to use the heck out-of the machine to see if the odor goes away, and it seems to lessening. But if it's still there after all the loads I do this weekend, both the W/D are going back. Still, as a new user, I'd recommend the W/D for the overall performance of the machines.

Does not last long!
1 Star Review   By ERM2007 on Home Depot - Sep 17, 2010

My husband and I bought this washer in April 2009 new and it was delivered and installed properly. In August 2010, four months after the warranty expired it began to make a squealing anytime the agitator is moving. It still washes and does not leak so I hope it will last a little while. We cannot afford to replace the washer or parts but may have no choice. Get the extended warranty, it would definitely been worth it!

Great machines for a great price!
5 Star Review   By Alyce on Home Depot - Sep 5, 2010

We purchased the Admiral washing machine and the matching Admiral electric dryer on sale. Free delivery, was included in the purchase price and the removal of the old machines. Delivered 9/2. So far they work great! The washing machine is a little noisy when changing cycles, but for the price that's a non-issue to us. The machines are in a seperate laundry room behind a closed door. The dryer is great! I use the "Until Dry" setting with the moisture sensor, the clothes come out very dry and wrinkle free! One negative with the dryer: NO INTERIOR LIGHT! That was a disapointment! The service guys were great! They called the morning of delivery at 8.45 am, and said they would arrive in a half hour. At 9.15 am they were ringing the bell. Both men were very polite, professional and efficient! They took the old machines away at no additional cost! We didn't purchase the hookups because we had relatively new ones. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. I'll check back in a few months and review how both machines are working and if there are any problems. Home Depot has been wonderful! The customer reviews and the price is what sold us on the machines.

Great Value only time will tell
4 Star Review   By Zack23 on Home Depot - Sep 4, 2010

Got this machine in less than a week good value for the money. But it is noisier than any washer I have ever had. Works great so far, only had it 2 weeks. It washes and spins much faster then my old GE that I had for over 14 years. Quick and free delivery was nice. But it begs the question with faster moving parts will it last 14 years? Time will tell.

Good Value for the Price
5 Star Review   By MsVG on Home Depot - Aug 27, 2010

I purchased this washer to replace a Kenmore that I had for years. I was very suprised at how well it worked and how clean it got the clothes. I was able to wash larger loads than I could in the Kenmore. I have no complaints, I had read in other reviews that it was kind of loud, but it's no louder than my other washer was. I'm very satisfied.

Do the new washing machine dance!
5 Star Review   By LindsNW on Home Depot - Aug 22, 2010

I am so happy to have a new washing machine, my old washer was a piece of junk, it was used and made in either the late 70s or early 80s. So I may be a little biased about this washing machine, because my old one was so bad. First of all, it cleans amazingly well, it's a simple washing machine that does what it's supposed to do. Yes it doesn't have a fabric softener dispenser, but one of those Downy Balls at the store only costs a $1.75, so that takes care of that problem. I didn't find this machine any louder then any other washer I've had. Of course the only washers I've had were used ones, so wear and tear got the best of them, so they were extremely loud to me, the last one I had squeaked very loudly every time it agitated, talk about annoying. I definitely recommend this washer, it's a no frills washing machine that does what it's supposed to do, which is wash your clothes! So what if it's "loud", so what if it doesn't have a fabric softener dispenser, those things can be remedied, especially since it's so cheap.

Great Washer
5 Star Review   By jkrynock on Home Depot - Aug 21, 2010

I love the fact that the washer has temp. control and load size. My old washer would never let me soak my cloths with water in it, but this one does. It will not start that was cycle until you close the lid.

Recently bought this set!
4 Star Review   By AH1979 on Home Depot - Aug 19, 2010

I had my doubts about this set because of course the brand isn't too well known and I didn't pay a whole heck of a lot of money for them, but so far they seem to work well. I've had them for almost a month and they are working great. Medium to low noise on usage. When I got the new washer the tub inside was making a horrible noise. Home Depot was quick to contact the company and get me a replacement washer. The first washer was delivered on a Saturday and I had the 2nd new washer by the following Thursday. The guys that delivered them were very polite. I had the new ones in, as well as the old ones hauled out fairly quickly and without damage to my house.

so far so good
4 Star Review   By maciej10 on Home Depot - Aug 8, 2010

Looks pretty good for this price. Needed a unit for a rental property and this seemed to fit the bill. It is just a little bit on the louder side, but then again I'm comparing against appliances I have at home which are of significantly higher grade. Will see how it holds up with tenants and report back if there are issues. On a side note, the HD delivery guys were super nice and accommodating!

So far, So good
5 Star Review   By Frenia on Home Depot - Aug 7, 2010

I read complaints about it being loud. This machine replaced a Whirlpool washer. I paid $100 more for the old machine than what I paid for this Admiral (made by Maytag). The more expensive Whirlpool was louder than this one. I have mine in the basement and I don't even hear it. The only thing I am adjusting to is the selector dial. It turns very smoothly and easily and I seem to miss the target almost every time. But, I will adjust to that with no problem. As others have mentioned, I think it spins the clothes drier than my old machine. It's a good machine for it's price. I wanted a washing machine that would clean clothes well without all the bells and whistles and I got it.

WONERFUL WASHER!!!
5 Star Review   By panda83 on Home Depot - Aug 7, 2010

This washer is EXCELLENT! It's very quiet and when the cycle is done my clothes are barely even wet. I don't have a dryer. I just hang my clothes up and they're dry within an hour or two. For the money I paid it gets the job done. I would definitely recommend this washer. A big money saver for me and that's what I wanted. Buy this washer!!! You won't be disappointed.

Admiral Washer
5 Star Review   By mkotlo on Home Depot - Jul 30, 2010

Purchased this washer to replace the one we had for 22 years. This is just a basic no frills washer which is just what we wanted. Excelent price and delivery with removal of our old washer to be recycled. I cann't say that it is any louder than the old one it replaced. I think it is quieter than our old one but it was 22 years old. We'll just have to see if it is as dependable.

Exactly what I expected!
5 Star Review   By MattP1 on Home Depot - Jul 28, 2010

For the ridiculously low price, this washer is amazing. I bought it this afternoon and I have done three complete cycles of the machine. It works exactly was I expected. The machine is all that any family would need to do their laundry on a regular basis. The only draw back is the noise. The machine is a bit louder than most I have heard. The noise is not a huge deal. For the price, I could probably deal with a fog horn. Overally, I would buy this again and again. I was out the door (with steel braided hoses) for about 300 bucks. Best deal ever!

Admiral Washer
5 Star Review   By Billopsmgr on Home Depot - Jul 18, 2010

Washer was installed on 7/14/10. A great deal on a great washer. Replaces a more expensive washer that self-destructed. This washer spins the clothes almost dry and better than the previous washer. I do not find this any louder than other washers. Don't waste your time looking for a comparison. This is it.

I had this machine delivered about a week ago and I am very pleased. . I only use cold water and my clothes came out really clean. I don't find it particularly noisy, but it is in a laundry room adjoining my kitchen. Great machine for the price
5 Star Review   By CKMB on Home Depot - Jul 10, 2010

This is a great basic machine. It washes and rinses well. It is quiet when in use. The tub is huge so there is plenty of room for large loads. The installers came when scheduled and worked very neatly and quickly. They took the old appliance which was great. The online associates were so helpful before we made the purchase. They let us know exactly what we needed to purchase for the installation like hoses and cords.

WORKING GREAT!
5 Star Review   By JLM1973 on Home Depot - Jul 3, 2010

Just recently had the washer/dryer set delivered, but not hooked up by the installers. Found that it was VERY easy to attach what was needed and hook-up ourselves. Saved ourselves some money that way by not having to buy the required hoses and vents needed for Home Depot to hook it up. We just used what we already had except the dryer cord (which you have to buy because it does not come with one). I have already washed two loads and dried one and they are GREAT! No louder than any other top loader that I've heard and I can't even hear the dryer running. No buzzer though on the dryer to let you know it's done, but that's OK. It does have the 30 minute timed dry on low and high heat, but don't let that scare you. The Auto-Sense Dry feature set on "Very Dry" or "Energy Preferred" works awesome to get clothes dry. It helps too that the washer fully spins out the water so the clothes are damp. Great price for a washer and dryer set that gets the job done. You won't be disappointed with the machines OR the service.

Great Price, Performance, and Service!
5 Star Review   By ajd320 on Home Depot - Jun 27, 2010

I have owned GE and Kenmore washers and this beats them both. All my other washers would never get my clothes even close to dry. This washer spins like a jet engine. My clothes are coming out so dry I have cut my drying time in half. I have been loading this to the max every time without a single problem. It is a little loud but not any louder than my other top load washers. For this price I am amazed with the performance. I do enjoy the super load/wash setting great for washing bedding. The delivery crew was amazing, very friendly and were able to answer all my questions with an accurate answer. Not only did they show up right on time, They also had my washer installed and ready to go in less than 20 min. Overall I am completely satisfied with my purchase and would definitely recommend this washer to anybody on a tight budget that wants quality!!!

Admiral 3.5 cu. ft washer
5 Star Review   By handyman20 on Home Depot - Jun 26, 2010

Easy to order, easy to schedule delivery, excellent on-time delivery and product setup and old washer hauled away as promised. We have had the washer for about 4 weeks and everything is fine. As some had mentioned, product is somewhat noisy but it is in the basement laundry room which poses no problem. The spin cycle is excellent, reducing dryer time. How nice to obtain a product or service and not have to fight with someone trying to get a problem resolved!!

Cleans clothes!
4 Star Review   By everpress on Home Depot - Jun 26, 2010

This washer seems pretty bare-bones, but it really has a good amount of standard settings for cleaning clothes... It does what it says it does: cleans clothes. It's pretty high capacity, so you can clean quite a large load. The only thing that is slightly bothersome is that it is loud. Pretty loud- not 'deafening' but... loud.

Ok, I just received the washer today, and started to do loads immediately. Wow! I'm not gonna lie, it's loud! No way to sugar coat it! I will post in about a month or so and see how I feel about it's performance.

Great washing machine for the $$
5 Star Review   By Tolly on Home Depot - Jun 2, 2010

Our washing machine broke in March and we needed a new one immediately. Price was a BIG consideration and when I got to Homedepot.com I found this washing machine...on sale for $279. This still included free installation and taking away the broken machine. I was happy to find out that although this is the Admiral brand, it belongs to Maytag, so I feel that I basically got a Maytag machine at budget price. It's simple to operate, a few standard dials, not readouts, no special anythings. It's washing our clothes better than the washer it replaced. The 3.2 cubic feet inside is large enough to wash a queen size quilt with some room to spare. Also, it's only 27" wide so it was easier for the installers to get through the basement door. I highly recommend this machine, especially if you're beginning to think about buying a new one. We were thrilled to get it on sale, but we'd pay the $329 since it is more than worth it.

great machine
5 Star Review   By poky on Home Depot - May 17, 2010

i bought this washer at my local home depot and had it delivered. the purchase, delivery, set up and haul off of my old washer cost me less than $400. the delivery crew was on time, courteous, and knowledgeable. it took them about 15 minutes from start to finish. i have had this washer for about a month now, and i have no complaints. it does what i need it to do and does it well. it is surprisingly large, has 4 wash/rinse combo water temps, 4 size loads, and spins very dry. it is a little louder than my last washer, but it is in my garage so it doesn't matter. it is no big deal to me that if doesn't have a fabric softener dispensor. for the money this is a very good deal.

Great washer! Great Value!
5 Star Review   By gb13 on Home Depot - May 17, 2010

We bought this washer almost 2 mo ago based on the reviews. It replaced our 8 yr old GE. This washer was eager to wash clothes! We washed about 10 loads the 1st day, then re-washed some of the clean clothes we washed in the old washer! Pros- it spins all the water out of the clothes & really agitates them clean. The wash options are great - so many levels. I love that there are 4 water temp options, cool setting is my favorite. Cons- I have had to re-rinse...probably b/c I used too much detergent...there is no fabric softener dispenser (which I would never use anyway)...tub seems a little smaller than my GE. Bottom line - this is great washer made by Whirlpool! I wish we would have gotten it sooner! If you can wait for an internet special...I think it was only $258...the free shipping & haul away was effortless...they even hooked it up and tested it for free! I purchased the recommended hoses for it too. This washer is a bargain even if you pay full price!

Simple is better
5 Star Review   By chattanoogamom on Home Depot - May 3, 2010

I had a front loader with all the bells and whistles. It never cleaned any better than other washers and over time my laundry stunk even though I tried every recommended remedy. This washer is fast and my laundry smells good. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a softener dispenser, but the cost makes it worthwhile to put in myself and I know my laundry will smell good (I just have to be there to add it in the final rinse). Fancy is over rated. This gets the job done.

Great deal on a really GOOD washer
5 Star Review   By MustangFan on Home Depot - Apr 20, 2010

This washer is not loaded with unnecessary frills, but it has all the basics covered and then some. It has good capacity and a long proven design. I feel that this washer is an unbeatable value, especially when on sale. The washer has all the features I need including a regular cycle and a gentle, four water levels for times when I have to run it before it is full, and an agitator that keeps the clothes moving. I highly recommend this washer and it's matching dryer to anyone who needs a dependable set that will get the job done, and not fall apart before it pays for itself. I am very satisfied with this Whirlpool built washer and would do this purchase again. I have recommended this model to several friends already.

Good Value
4 Star Review   By dbear on Home Depot - Apr 17, 2010

It's only been a couple of weeks, but so far this has been a great washing machine for the price. The washer's capacity is very generous and it handles big loads really well. A little noisy during the wash cycle, but not too bad. The machine does an excellent job over all. The delivery guys were terrific. They arrived right on time, were courteous, friendly and they moved the old machine out and installed the new washer in about 15 minutes.

It's kind of loud
3 Star Review   By Emily6380 on Home Depot - Apr 15, 2010

I was looking for just a basic washer so I decided on the Admiral. The positive is that it is pretty fast, but it is very loud. If descrete is what you are looking for, this is not it. But if you have a laundry room away from your common area I would recommend.

I loved it until....
3 Star Review   By Brandyinnh on Home Depot - Apr 10, 2010

We bought this washer almost a year ago, and it's been great. Recently however, it's been getting stuck on rinse mode. If I spin the dial around it will complete the cycle, but it's annoying to say the least. I know that it has a one year warranty and honestly, I hope that it doesn't turn out to be more of a headache to have someone look at it. We're literally a couple of weeks away from having the warranty expire, so I would recommend getting the extended on this one.

Surprisingly Good Quality, though a bit noisy
5 Star Review   Home Depot

Was drawn to this washer by the sale price ($259) but was somewhat nervous until I read where Admiral was actually Whirlpool/Maytag. This unit would replace our 10+ yr old Kenmore washer (which just had a bad timer-which to fix would have cost $150+, not worth fixing at the age of the machine). The Kenmore was a Whirlpool made washer so this Admiral was worth investigating. Took a chance (and with the savings got the 2yr added warranty for $60). Delivery and set up was extremely fast and done well. The washer is noisy, as others have mentioned in reviews, but not much noisier than my old one. Not so much noise from the mechanism as the water running. Operation, though simple, does the job better than my old one. The spin cycle really wrings the water out better so my dryer runs less to dry them. Construction is par with other washers so hoping less features means less to go wrong. Has all the cycles and settings that we used on our old washer so we feel no lack of functionality. Overall, it is surprisingly good quality (or atleast on par with others). With the added warranty coverage that will cover it for 3 yrs, I feel like I got an honest deal for a decent washer.

washer
5 Star Review   By redduke1 on Home Depot - Apr 9, 2010

I am extremely pleased with the washer I purchased from the home depot website. I didn't even feel the need to go and see it in person. It was a great price and well described on the web page. It works great and much quieter than my old washer. The delivery and removal of my old washer was free. The delivery men were very professional. I would shop again through the home depot website.

Great Product for the Money
5 Star Review   By SAGranny on Home Depot - Apr 5, 2010

Washer performs as advertised. Large capacity, gets job done in a hurry. Plenty of choices on temp/speed/water level. Very quiet. Fabric softener dispenser would be nice, but washer too much of a bargain to complain.

Admiral Washing Machine
5 Star Review   By scubalady100 on Home Depot - Apr 5, 2010

This washing machine was on sale at the time I actually had money to purchase a new machine (my Maytag's motor had caught fire a couple of months ago, leaving me no option but the laundromat which with my schedule was not fun). Even without considering its sale price, the Admiral was so far below the average price range of a new washer that I couldn't believe it would be worth buying, until I read its good reviews by other users and decided to take a chance on it. The delivery truck arrived right on time, in fact the two service techs told me their first delivery of the day had cancelled, so they put me up first and had it up and running by 9 a.m. in a delivery slot between 8 and 11. Their most difficult issue was trying to get it down into my basement--it necessitated removing the back door and getting around a very tight corner, but they even did that without complaint and got it re-hung without any problems or scratches to the new appliance which was in itself pretty amazing. Once it was safely down in my basement, they got it set up just fine and very quickly. Both of the service techs were polite and knowledgeable and made sure I didn't have any questions before they left. The Admiral is really no noisier than my old machine, which was also a top loader. It's just what I expected as far as what I would term a "no-frills" appliance, but it does a great job getting clothes clean and spins the water out nicely. I've had it a week and have had no problems after running several loads through it. I never used the fabric softener dispenser in my old machine so really don't miss having that, and the Admiral's different cycles and wash settings work perfectly well for all of my laundry. To sum up, this machine is a great value for the money. It accommodates larger loads and all water temperatures and works just fine for regular use. It is well-constructed and seems durable. I do agree with the person in an earlier review who commented on the water temperature--this machine doesn't get the water as hot as my old washer did but so far that has not caused any undue problems. I got free install and pickup of the old trashed washer in the deal which made it even more of a great buy. I would definitely recommend this washing machine and would buy this brand again!

incredible washer
5 Star Review   By GEWASHER on Home Depot - Apr 3, 2010

I ordered this washer because my 8 year old one broke. It seems like anymore no matter the brand or the price appliances do not last for more than 7 or 8 years. So, I decided to look at a variety of washers in a range of prices and realized this one's features far outweighed any other model for the price and were comparable to more expensive ones. The internet deal I got was incredible (and that included delivery, installation and haul away).. But, most of all, the washer is incredible. It has commercial load settings and energy/environmental saving settings that I just love. I would definitely recommend this washer to family and friends. Further, the delivery and set was hassle free.

VALUE PLUS NO APRIL FOOL
5 Star Review   By POSEIDON on Home Depot - Apr 2, 2010

In our search to replace our 12 year old maytag,we needed a machine that was as close in features and performance, {basic like} .There is a real jungle out there with interior sizes ,auto features like temp. ,water levels extra spin and rinse not to mention a machine that uses he detergent or not.The admiral made by maytag/ wirlpool is a value plus ,full manual contols ,water level, temp and 8 different wash cycles,no fabric softner port but it has one for bleach .Quiteness- average and energy star- no , however it's power consumption isn't far from it.GREAT PRICE under special buy, delivery and removal was free and went just fine. It does one thing well ,washes clothes.
