LG WM3987HW
4.5 Star Review  productwiki.com - Nov 24, 2010

The LG WM3987HW is a high-end all-in-one washer/dryer combination machine similar to the LG WM3455HS. The main difference between the WM3987HW and the WM3455HS is capacity: the WM3987HW boasts a larger 4.2 cu. ft. over the WM3455HS 2.7 cu. ft. The WM3987HW also sports a different TrueBalance anti-vibration system (the WM3455HS is called LoDecibel). Otherwise, the two washers sport the same basic features, including a Direct Drive Motor and vent-less installation. The WM3987HWs TrueBalance anti-vibration system minimizes vibration during washer or drying even on the 2nd floor of a house by way of a counter-balance drum system. Its Direct Drive Motor features a proprietary construction that uses fewer moving parts than standard washer motors, increasing efficiency and durability. Additionally, the WM3987HW requires no external venting, unlike traditional dryers, allowing it to be placed anywhere in ones home. my washing Machine is smarter than me.
5 Star Review   By Kingdady4life on Home Depot - Jun 11, 2013

It is official my washing machine is smarter than me. I had a few bumps when I first ordered it involving having to have some plumbing replaced, but since that day it has been washing nirvana. I have read some of the negative reviews of this machine and they are totally off base in my opinion because the thought is this computerrized wonder that determines the length of a wash and dry cycle based on what I put in it and the wash settings is like a washing machine of old can understandably result in frustration. Not only have I been able to keep up with laundry, but putting clothes in before bed or when I go to work result in dry clothes when I wake up or get home. I love how all I have to do is load the machine press a few buttons and walk away. It makes me want to say set it and forget it. The high upfront cost will more than be paid for in less than a year, because prior to this I was going to the laundrymat once a month and spending a minimum of $30.

So easy to use
5 Star Review   By sleepy on Home Depot - Jun 11, 2013

I would recommend this product if you have a small area to do your laundry and if you don't have a lot of time to load and unload. Just press a few buttons and wait for it to stop.

Good machine for the right person
4 Star Review   By WatchItGoRound on Home Depot - Jun 5, 2013

This is a great machine, for the right person. The washer does an excellent job of cleaning clothes and there are plenty of settings. The dryer does take some extra time but it is not excessive, as other reviews state. If you simply read the directions and find what works best for you, you won't be disappointed. I suggest keeping loads small-medium size for best drying results and I most frequently use the "more" dry option. It sounds strange but shaking out damp-feeling clothes actually does work! Sometimes the clothes will seem like they are still wet but a quick shake and they are completely dry. I wouldn't recommend this machine for anyone with a family as only one load can be done at a time, taking ~3 hours. If you are single and willing to do small, fairly frequent loads of laundry, then this is for you! It is very convenient to put loads in and have them automatically washed and dried when you return. The washer is easy to clean and builds up relatively little amounts of lint. A simple read-through of the directions will show you how to clean out the lint trap.

4 Star Review   By RetiredJo on Home Depot - Jun 2, 2013

I only have this product a week. It would be better if I could write a review after one month. I am still getting used to the many features. I replaced a full size washer with this washer/dryer combo. Good choice for an apartment.

Would not recommend
1 Star Review   By LafTeacher62 on Home Depot - May 31, 2013

Purchased this combo washer/dryer from Home Depot and was initially delighted with it. Reasonably quiet, very energy efficient. It did a very good job washing and drying clothes. Why the poor review? After two year of using the machine an average of twice a week for medium sized loads, the machine began to make an incredibly loud whining noise during the spin cycle. Contact with LG was very unproductive - customer service is out of the country and could only tell me to "schedule service appointment". They did not provide any assistance and would not connect me to a technician. When I tried to schedule a service appointment, I was told there was no authorized service in my area and was given the name of a couple of places I "could" try. When I contacted a repair service on my own, the repair person came out, looked at the machine, diagnosed the problem and called LG. Upon pricing the repairs needed, he said it would be over $900.00 for parts and labor - and it would be best if I brought the machine to their repair shop rather than if he tried to repair it on-site. In the first year, I recommended this to a number of friends - won't even consider an LG product as a replacement now. Extremely disappointed with the quality, reliability and with LG.

Really Quiet
5 Star Review   By Kayla on Home Depot - May 21, 2013

This machine is so quiet compared to our previous machine. We only had enough space in our laundry room for a stackable unit so this was perfect because it was both in one machine. The directions are really easy to follow too so if you can't figure out how to use the machine then you didn't read the directions.

LG Washer/Dryer Combo - Ventless - 110 Volts
4 Star Review   By Guillo on Home Depot - May 13, 2013

This unit is perfect for installations where a vent or a 220- volt outlet is not available. It washes superbly, dries well, with these caveats: 1) Although the unit is full-size, the dryer does not do well with large loads. 2) Some items may have a small amount of moisture on the surface when first removed--this goes away with a couple of shakes of the item. 3) Condensation-based drying takes longer than normal hot-air drying; however, the machine has a delay feature that allows one to begin the cycle during the night or early morning hours so that the clothes are finished by morning. Because one cannot overlap washing and drying, and because the dryer works best with small- or medium-sized loads, this appliance is not well suited for a large family. Although my laundry room has a ceiling vent and a 220-volt outlet, neither is well-placed. When I had a standard washer and dryer, the run to the vent was so long and had so many turns that even with frequent cleaning my dryer did not dry well. This combination unit works perfectly for me. One additional note: Because it doesn't have a vent , runs on 110 volts, and doesn't get as hot as a traditional dryer, I am comfortable leaving the house with it running... something I never did with my traditional dryer because of the fire risk.

washes but doesn't dry
1 Star Review   By Trad on Home Depot - May 11, 2013

we got this unit for my mother to put in her kitchen to keep her from having to use the steep stairs to her basement. It washed fine but the clothes never dried. She'd leave them in for hours and they wouldn't dry. So she called the company (LG not Home Depot) and they sent out a technician. Who told her these machines should never be sold in america and that they would never dry your clothes. She suggested she return the machine and get a full refund. Which she did. So she's only out the cost of running the water lines. Another small issue she didn't like is that they suggest you leave the front door open when not in use. She had this in her kitchen and it's not a small unit so this just became a safety issue as it was something you had to walk around and be sure you didn't bump into.

just what I needed
5 Star Review   By Caly on Home Depot - May 7, 2013

I live in an older condo complex where the dryer vent was poorly built under the foundation which has now collapsed. My HOA refused to let me vent through the roof so it took hours for my clothes to dry, and I burned out the dryer heater twice. I found this combo washer/dryer that did not need to be vented and decided to try it. It works great, yes it takes a little longer to dry but I was already having that problem. It is a great space saver also.

I have only had my machine for 2 weeks and so far I like it. It is easy to use. No problems with drying - clothes totally dry. Yes, it takes a little longer for a load of wash, but no transfer from washer to dryer. I wish it was a little quieter.

Buy only if you have an average 5 hours to wash & dry!
2 Star Review   By rita on Home Depot - Apr 30, 2013

Dryer is okay. Takes way too long to wash and dry. Generally takes about 4-6 hours till completed with wash and dry process. Clothes still is damp after this cycle and absolutely no quick dry. Get ready for another 120 minutes for additional drying time. Overall, 4-7 hours. Not for me.

Perfect Option For Me
4 Star Review   By HappyHoustonian on Home Depot - Apr 24, 2013

I haven't had the machine long enough to actually determine it's energy efficiency, but because of the long cycle times, I tend to think it may increase my electric usage. But, it does run on standard voltage so I may be wrong about that. This unit works really well for my single person household and lifestyle. I can start a load of clothes before I go to bed and they are ready when I get up the next morning. Or I can do the same as I'm going to work and they'll be ready when I get home. For an average sized load, it takes about 5 hours for it to fully cycle, so that might take some adjustment for some people but has been no problem for me so far. Noted some people complain about the laundry not getting completely dry. I notice this to some extent, but what I have found is that initially the laundry will feel the slightest bit damp but by the time I hang it up it feels perfectly dry. I like that the softner, bleach and detergents is dispensed easily and effiecently. I feel that it does a wonderful job cleaning my laundry and seems to be very gentle on the fabrics. Of course, it also doesn't hurt that it allows for more storage space in my laudry area either. I am totally happy with this unit. I do think that it would not be ideal for families or households of more than 2-3 people though unless a lot of your clothes are sent to the dry cleaner already.

Not your average laundry machine.
4 Star Review   By Braille on Home Depot - Apr 21, 2013

I purchased this machine because outside venting is not needed, and therefore, expensive HVAC cooling costs are reduced; because interior room air isn't being sucked outside through a dryer vent. Also, my laundry room is very small, so this is a space saving unit too. Nevertheless, this machine won't be a crowd pleaser because using this machine requires a change in paradyne. The days of folding bone dry clothes must be forgotten. If you can make that change, you will appreciate the features that it offers. However, If you have a very large laundry room & many clothes to wash with a large family, go with a traditional washer & separate vented dryer. So, I would recommend this unit for someone willing to do a load per day.Start the machine before you leave home & forget it. When you return, you'll have steamy fresh, slightly damp clothes waiting to be folded.

I have already had LG come out to look at machine. Smells like my house burning down! Terrible machine!
1 Star Review   By DGood on Home Depot - Apr 9, 2013

Not only does everything smell burned..(.including my whole house) when you pull clothes out but the clothes are wadded up and so wrinkled. It is the worst mistake I have ever made. I will give you this machine for free if you want it and we paid $1599 for it in February...that is how much I dislike it. LG has been out to inspect and promised smell would go away after using it for a longer period of time. However, it just has gotten worse.

Laundry is easy to do!! Sure beats the laundromat.
5 Star Review   By Marilyn on Home Depot - Apr 5, 2013

I LOVE this all-in-one washer dryer combo. I have had this for about 2 months and laundry is so easy to do and is very gentle on clothes. The dryer doesn't "cook" clothes like your regular dryer does. Drying is an option--so for those of you that like to hang things out on the line--this is perfect. Because of the high speed of the spin cycles it comes out fairly dry. But with this machine clothes come out smelling outdoor fresh when using the dry cycle. The drying option is NOT available for the delicate or wool settings and works really well for lingerie or wool sweaters. I washed a cashmere sweater that was labeled "dry clean only" and it came out beautifully. I hung it on a shower rod to dry. I like the permanent press setting and I put jeans, sweatshirts, hand knit socks and lingerie all in at the same time and they come out beautifully. For some reason the timer shows about 6 hrs for this cycle--don't know why--it takes around 3 hours to wash and dry, and it keeps tumbling for quite awhile so you don't have to get clothes out right away. When using the dry cycles you should only fill the tub about half way. I can do 3 pairs of jeans, 3 sweatshirts, 3 turtlenecks and socks and underwear. Much more than that and clothes come out kind of wrinkled. You need to use liquid HE(high efficiency) detergent. After the cycle is finished there is a nice little "song" chime signaling everything is done. When the dryer cycle is used the door may stay locked and shows "cd" on the display. Don't panic--just hit the "on" button--it will chime--then hit it again--another chime--then the door will unlock. This w/d combo is very energy efficient and uses very little water. I was using it two or even three times a day because I was having so much fun washing everything in sight, including a queen sized comforter. My electric bill was only $5 more last month, a whole lot cheaper than the laundromat. The spin cycles run multiple times and get clothes pretty dry, but the reverse tumbling action does NOT leave clothes plastered to the tub. If the washer gets unbalanced things do shake a bit, but it seems to stop and retumble most of the time. There isn't a typical lint filter--you need to wipe off the rubber gasket each time--where the "fuzz" is collected. There is a filter that requires that you drain the water--and it takes a little time--more than 2 cups is drained. It needs to be done about once a month--but I didn't find much that needed to be removed--and I have 2 cats, I reccommend the pedestal that goes with this machine. Not only does it provide space for dirty laundry, but it elevates the w/d to a comfortable working level. I think it would be too low otherwise. This machine makes laundry so much easier. There are multiple options that cover about every situation. Just put the clothes in--put detergent and softner or bleach if you choose into the dispensers, turn it on--and let it go. I can't think of a better way to do laundry. I think you'll be very happy with this combo.

Water Pump WILL fail on you.
1 Star Review   By Unsatisfiedcustomer on Home Depot - Apr 2, 2013

LG makes nice looking products that are very cheaply made. Don't judge a book by it's cover in this case. In just over a year, I'm on the SECOND water pump. My previous LG washing machine had the same issue. Only a one year warranty goes to show how much confidence they have in their product. If it manages not to break for you the only good thing about it is the convenience of not having to switch loads from the washer to the dryer - your clothes will not actually be fully dry though. They always come out damp, being a ventless unit. We hang our clothes on a drying rack after they come out of a complete cycle. Also, don't count on the extended warranty to eliminate the issue of the machine needing constant repair. The company that handles their extended protection is TERRIBLE, they are rude and unorganized and the process of actually getting someone out to fix the machine will take weeks. That is if they actually decide to process your claim, but that is another issue. By a different machine!

FANTASTIC MACHINE
5 Star Review   By TexasRanger on Home Depot - Mar 29, 2013

I have owned mine for about 3 years now and every week I Thank the Lord for my machine. I am alone so I only do about 3 loads a week and they are small to medium in size. I use the short wash cycle and start taking out my dress work clothes as soon as it goes to the drying cycle. Never buy bounce again, use minimum soap and it runs on a standard 110 plug. This machine is awsome and when or if it goes out, I will buy another one. You have to keep the lint cleaned out of the rubber around the door, I even use a q-tip to get into the little holes. I am sure it is time for me to do deeper cleaning and I will soon. I have had zero problems. You do have to experiment with the loads and a small to medium size load works best. It takes about 3 hours for one medium load and then most things I have to hang dry to finish. My clothes come out clean and after air drying need no ironing. You must put the rubber stops under the feet and get the best and thickest you can buy, you'll need them. I love doing laundry now, I keep up on it and my clothes stay like new and organized. It it nice not to switch loads from the washer to the dryer. Home depot has the best customer service too, I buy everything for my home at their store.

Time saved "Fabulous"
5 Star Review   By Angelsmom on Home Depot - Mar 28, 2013

I love my new LG Washer/Dryer Combo! It arrived 3 weeks ago. The machine was not hard to figure out at all. It is myself and son who use it. I am very please with the unit as a whole. My son teases me by saying "Ma I think it's broken cause it's not running" I just love it and I responded by saying for me unit saves time. I can do laundrey and it's done when I wake. It's like one stop shop! Happy!

Why don't more people have one of these?
5 Star Review   By selmax on Home Depot - Mar 27, 2013

I was originally worried that the all-in-one washer dryer combo wouldn't work for us as we're a family of four with a lot of laundry. But it's so great to put a load in, leave the house for errands, and return to clean, dry laundry.

It's like watching a jet engine start up!
4 Star Review   By Tamster1960 on Home Depot - Mar 15, 2013

I so far love my washer/dryer. I was scared to buy it but figured I needed the extra space and would take a chance on it since it has been used in Europe a lot. I could always buy a dryer and stack it if the dryer function didn't work out. It does take longer to dry but it's fairly quiet and it's amazing how little water it takes to wash--my clothes are quite a bit cleaner too. My old washer was on it's last legs and now I see how bad it was getting compared to this one. The only problem I've had is drying jeans--they dry, but are terribly wrinkled. I figure I have to reread the directions again and try again with a different setting/technique. And it's strange to feel the clothes coming out moist but as soon as they hit the air they start drying. My first load I couldn't figure out the drying part but then read the directions AGAIN and got it right. And I had 48 hours to love it or turn it back in so that was reassuring. If you live in a damp climate I'd say this would be an iffy buy for you but we live in the desert and this works great for us.

I love this machine!
4 Star Review   By tambo on Home Depot - Mar 2, 2013

I bought this LG all in one washer and dryer almost a year ago because I live in a small house and wanted to save space. After using it for almost a year, I feel that I would buy this machine again even if I lived in a large house. I love the fact that you don't have to move your laundry from the washer to the dryer. I can set the machine in the morning before I go to work (with the time delay option) and I come home to warm, dry, soft, clean clothes! I also love how energy efficient it is and the noise is not loud enough to bother me. Other reviewers complained about clothes not being dry. This isn't a problem at all if you make your loads a little smaller and set it to the "more dry" setting. My only complaints is that this machine is not really large enough to wash and dry large bedding such as a king size comforter. Also, I feel the lint trapping system could be better designed. If you're not very patient and don't wait to drain all the water out before you unscrew the lint trap at the bottom you will get water all over your house.

Impressed with LG Appliances
4 Star Review   By Melyn75 on Home Depot - Feb 28, 2013

I, like other reviewers, have made my laundrymat days a thing of the past. This machine is well worth the money. The 9 wash cycles and digital display are fantastic. The drying features take a little getting used to, this steam drys, so the drying takes 3 times as long as washing. I did remove about 1/2 to 2/3 of what I had washed and hung these items to dry. Then I set the dryer for an hour (More) and let it go. Depending on the weight/thickness of the clothing it may take up to 2 hours to dry. That being said I am still far happier with the machine than I thought. There is a website called Compact Appliance that sells a wheel/sink fitting kit for about $75. Well worth the money, as we are rolling it into the kitchen to use and back into a spare room to store it, Home Depot does not sell this accessory kit or I would have purchased it through them. I did however purchase the extended 5 year warrenty, just to be on the safe side, as this is a higher dollar investment. good luck and happy washing!

I don't miss a dedicted Dryer
4 Star Review   By Steve on Home Depot - Feb 24, 2013

This Combo Washer-Dryer is not for people that do a lot of washing, but being able to throw the clothes in and come back a few hours later to a done load is nice. It is quiet, and uses little water. Now if they could just get it to fold and put the clothes away when done. Have not had it long enough to really say much else.

LOVE!
5 Star Review   By AmyinKC on Home Depot - Jan 28, 2013

I had to have a ventless or condensing dryer due to my condo not being vented to the outside. I am in love with this machine! It has taken me a couple days to get used to the dryer part as it is a little different than the stack-able ventless units that I had previously. But now that I know, I love.

DO buy this machine! I have ZERO regrets :D
5 Star Review   By HappyCustomerHere on Home Depot - Jan 20, 2013

My laundromat days are history! I have spent the better part of five years balancing the laundry needs without a washer and dryer in my home. I live in a 1960's condo that wasn't equipped for this type of technology... I guess it didn't exist then? I heard about this type of all in one machine that doesn't need the large power plug or special exhaust vent and seemed like it would work but I was a skeptic. Once my beautiful and expensive bedding was destroyed in the laundromat dryer with black grease stains I knew my days of doing laundry in a laundromat were coming to an abrupt end. I bought this machine from Home Depot and found the reviews to make this purchase much more stressful than it needed to be. The folks reviewing this machine on Home Depot's website have a lot more negative things to say and have yet to find them substantiated. The bulk of complaints circle around the fact this is not a conventional dryer. Well duh! It uses a different process to remove the moisture from the clothes by draining the moisture out the drain hose. From what I've observed during the dry cycle the moisture will collect and once enough is available you can hear the pump activate and the moisture draining. Seems to happen every minute, but it is not that loud a noise. On another major retailers website the reviews are phenomenal. Their name rhymes with years if you want to check the review out ;-) The wash cycle options are awesome. The fact it has a sanitize setting makes me ecstatic as it super heats the water to kill bacteria. Every few weeks LG recommends to run the machine wash cycle with bleach to flush out residue. I have read this cycle will also free up any lint trapped in the machine. As for lint, a "Top Reviewer" has claimed there isn't a lint trap to clean and you need to hire a professional repair man to come out and service the machine. In the manual it clearly states there is a lint trap at the base of the machine, near the drain that needs to be cleaned out every couple of weeks. I just completed this process and there is a little tray that comes out when you unscrew it. There was some lint residue left in the mesh basket and I removed it and screwed the tray back in place. Not a big deal and piece of cake! You will read other reviews where the clothes come out damp and if you shake them it evaporates immediately. I was like what, how can this be? But sure enough after the machine completed the more dry cycle (I have found this works better than normal dry) the clothes do feel damp, but I shake them for a few seconds and they are actually dry. Phenomenal. I have read it is a bad thing to over-dry clothes anyways so this will help preserve my clothes longer. Also, there is no drastic rise in the indoor temperature during the dry cycle. All in all I was really nervous to make the purchase and redo the plumbing on my kitchen sink to accommodate the water and drainage. The whole dryer complaints weren't helping. After many nightmare laundromat experiences I couldn't handle it anymore and I am so glad decided to give this a try. One of my best purchases and I feel it is worth every penny. Thank you LG and Home Depot!

5 Star Review   By consumer on Home Depot - Jan 17, 2013

Owned an older model of same washer/drier. Really enjoying the added features to LG washer/drier from previous model. Larger tub, lighted, extra water to wash cycle, sanitary cycle etc. For custom washes. Cleans so well. Would recommend it to everyone. Great to put load in, leave, come home to fold it & done.

5 Star Review   By savinspaceinsac on Home Depot - Jan 12, 2013

Thought that drying would be a problem based on others posts but we have not had any problem with drying. Load size is that same as standard W/D. Full cycle time is long but the best part is you do not have to move clothes from washer to dyer. We are amazed at how well this machine cleans our clothes.

My kitchen is a laundry room too!
4 Star Review   By elfaluv on Home Depot - Jan 9, 2013

I've been using the LG washer/dryer combo for 2 months. I got the bigger 3.6 cu. ft. machine, and glad that I did. I put the machine on rolling wheels, and wheel it towards the kitchen sink to do my laundry several times/week. The drying does take awhile. I tend to air dry jeans, and towels as these usual culprits take forever to dry. There is a little more fussing involved with making sure the machine is cleaned and dried after each use. But it sure beats hauling everything down 3 flights of stairs and down the street to the laundromat!! As for the shaking and vibration, yup, it's there. But I set the spin cycle on low, and use the timed drying setting without adding in the spin. So, spinning is at a minimum during the rinse and spin cycles. Being a working single parent of a school aged child, it has given me more time to spend with my child. I can get the laundry done at night. We no longer lose 2.5 hours every Saturday to doing laundry. Home Depot was great that I was able to pick my delivery date when I ordered, so I picked a day that I had off from work already. The delivery people called me around 12:30 during my 12-4 delivery window. What, that early?! They were very courteous, got the machine up all of my twisty stairs in no time. Unfortunately, I don't have water hook ups so they didn't do the installation. But I already expected that. I researched other competitors but it was the advanced scheduling of delivery date that won me over. And Home Depot had the most reasonable 5-year extended warranty. I went ahead and purchased one based on the advice of previous reviewers. It took me awhile to decide to make such a huge investment. I'm glad I did it. My only regret was waiting too long because I missed an online sale that Home Depot was having. I ended up paying $300 more if I didn't drag my feet on this purchase. Don't delay!!

Awesome machine!!
5 Star Review   By AndrewS on Home Depot - Jan 8, 2013

I read reviews prior to buying this LG. Best choice I have made in years. Would buy again, just don't need too. Cleaner clothing, dries, sings a song when done. No more switching loads, even handles my queen size comforter washed and, dried. Any one with pets knows how difficult it is to rid pet hair from clothing, not with this machine! No lint brushing required after. The only down sides are cleaning the lint off of the rubber seal, it has a slight learning curve as where what and how often. Once one learns that it's rather easy to complete. It has to be near 100% level and, the spin seance option does not function at all when the dryer is enabled, at least not to the point it is when the dryer isn't selected.

BEST MACHINE EVER unles you can't or don't read manuals
5 Star Review   By Carlos on Home Depot - Jan 2, 2013

This is not your grandmother’s washer/dryer. The few complaints I read here are all due to not reading, understanding and/or follow the manual. Not leveling the machine (shaking) and not understanding the dryer functions (clothes not dry enough) are covered in the manual, it’s all there and it’s easy. This LG cleans better than any machine I’ve ever used before and I’m using 1/5th the soap, bleach and softener one would need in other machines (actually that was an issue at first, too much softener, I using drops). I am very happy and highly recommend it.

Drying function completely not acceptable
1 Star Review   By washercombohater on Home Depot - Dec 27, 2012

I was interested in trying the washer/dryer combo for space savings and I am single with less washing required overall. I reviewed the product information beforehand, so I was prepared for needing to wash only half a load in order for the dryer to be able to dry the load. Does not work. Even when I split the load to dry half at a time no worky. The drying cycles are long and require multiple, multiple repetitions. The only time something came out completely dry was when I dried two very light fabric window panels.

Broke in three weeks
1 Star Review   By PACT on Home Depot - Dec 8, 2012

We bought this item only to wake up one morning three weeks later to find water pouring onto the floor and into the basement. LG was impossible to deal with when we called them. They didn't have a service contractor in our area and told us it would be 3-5 business days before they could even find one. After repeated calls and hours on the phone with them, they finally persuaded a contractor outside our region to come do the work (in about 6 days). When we talked to the contractor they made it sound like the issue with the washer was a known problem. Also, clothes don't dry properly and a lot of things come our badly wrinkled. I'd look elsewhere. If you do buy this item, consider an extended warranty.

The washer dryer combo is a fantastic machine. My only dislike is how I have to wash and dry smaller loads of clothes in oreder for the dryer to dry effectively. Once you learn the correct amount of clothes to put in each load you will love how quiet, efficient and convenient this machine is.

Excellent washer/dryer combo
5 Star Review   By Washer on Home Depot - Dec 4, 2012

Great product. Does a nice job of drying. Doesn't take as long as I would have thought. Only issue is lack of instructions in manual as to how just use the dryer function without requiring the wash. Turn it on, press the dry button and then press the spin button to turn off the spin requirement if the clothes have already been spun out.

couldn't be happier
5 Star Review   By Tess on Home Depot - Nov 24, 2012

Delivery Day! I researched this machine for 6 weeks prior to making the committment to purchase. It came first thing this morning and I just finished my second load. True to what I had read, it does take some time to finish a load, but the clothing comes out looking and smelling just like new. It must be the steam drying. This is a whole new concept, I am happy with the delay start, and the dryer senses if you don't immediately remove clothes upon completion. It will continue to steam and tumble for up to 4 hours to avoid wrinkling! I understand that the maintenance suggested must be done in order to avoid issues, and they seem pretty simple. Love the interior light, and the sounds it makes, very fun and does a GREAT job!! I am liking my decision, and feel very much akin to Jane Jetson, except I still have to fold them when they come out!!!

Great all-in-one machine
5 Star Review   By Step7b on Home Depot - Nov 21, 2012

Large capacity washer/dryer with a number of well thought out settings. The wash cycle cleans well and the dryer does leave some types of clothing damp, but that isn't a problem. There is a way to set the machine to dry only, so everything does get dried completely. Drying just may require additional time. So far this machine has performed very well and beyond expectations.

Super smart laundry solution
5 Star Review   By anakcu on Home Depot - Nov 20, 2012

Our main reason for getting this washer/dryer combo was to save room. But it works so well and is so fun to use we would consider buying one even if we had space to spare. Our one concern with the ventless drying was that clothes would be damp at the end of the drying cycle. Any hint of dampness disappears quickly after removing from the machine. The long cycle time will not work well if you do all of your laundry on the weekends. But since you can start the washer and leave it to go through the dry cycle it is possible to put a load in before going to work. Consumer Reports does not rate combo washer/dryers but LG has a great reputation for reliability of its front load machines so we are anticipating good reliability.

Extremely slow dryer
2 Star Review   By Doug on Home Depot - Nov 20, 2012

The wash cycle is fine, but drying clothes is extremely slow. It takes three or four hours for a full wash / dry cycle. Also of note is the fact that the capacity during drying is half the capacity during washing. The manual suggests removing half of your clothes after the wash cycle, which defeats the purpose of the combined unit. I want to start the cycle once and come back when it is entirely finished, not come back halfway to split my load in two for the dryer.

DO NOT BUY!
1 Star Review   By gydcgreen54 on Home Depot - Nov 3, 2012

Put 5-10 loads of various materials and sizes through different cycles, not once did the clothes come out dry enough to fold and put away. This is new technology, not the old dryer operation; that's why it doesn't need venting or 220v power. If you are have the time and space to hang up everything to get it completely dry, the machine might work for you. A second comment; the washer/dryer has no lint trap the user can clean out. Once the internal lint trap gets clogged (and eventally it will), you need a repair man to make a service call to clean out. Expensive, and a major design flaw! Last comment; operation manual poorly written; don't expect a lot of help from it.

So far so good, really nice looking and fits in challenging space
5 Star Review   By JHeath on Home Depot - Oct 26, 2012

Very happy to find this combo washer/dryer and the condensing dryer feature. Needed to replace an old Sears Washer Dryer Combo from the 80's. The new Washer/Dryer combos are all 6" taller than our old unit which would not fit in the "under stairs" closet. This LG combo fit's great with extra room for detergent and stuff on top. The condensing(ventless) dryer solved an additional problem we had with an extra long inefficient vent which was actually a fire hazard. No vent needed solves this issue nicley as well. The unit takes a long time to run it's cycle, and haven't seen an electric bill yet, but very excited with the purchase and the motor warranty.

Nice idea, not ready for prime time...it's going back.
3 Star Review   By SeanH on Home Depot - Oct 26, 2012

I loved the idea of an all in one. It saves space in our older mobile home. Doing a load of laundry without having to transfer clothes from one machine to another is also appealing. The issue is the amount of time it takes to actually wash and dry...it's far too long. Most loads require drying twice at the 120 minute setting. Also, the amount of gunk and hair that collects on the door seal is totally unacceptable.(This machine also arrived with a balky "water plus" button, never should have made it out of quality control without being fixed.) This machine is going back,no matter the cost to return, and a conventional set will be ordered.

I am in love!
5 Star Review   By GoodbyeLaundromat on Home Depot - Oct 25, 2012

I just purchased this for a very small living space and because I wanted a front loader, and am in love with it. Spin cycle is amazing and my clothes come out of the wash already half dry and air dry quickly. The machine does take a long time to dry - so, it is great for a single person or couple, but I wouldn't recommend it for a large family that needs to do large amounts of laundry due to the drying time and the fact you can't wash a load at the same time another is in the dryer. When you open it up after the dry cycle is complete laundry does feel damp as other reviewers indicate - but counterintuitively, they really are completely dry with just a quick shake as you pull them out. One thing I did not realize until it arrived and i read the instructions is that you can wash a full load, but can't dry a full load due to the need for tumble space. Again, not an issue unless you need to do large amounts of laundry. Uses very little water, washes great, lots of options. If I had a lot of space I'd probably go for your traditional washer and dryer set-up, however I highly recommend this for anyone with a small space and/or no dryer vent. Thank you LG!

Very good, but noisy!
4 Star Review   By Forest2012 on Home Depot - Oct 16, 2012

Having used this machine several times now, I do appreciate its features and quality. It is a whole different approach to drying, however, and really takes getting used to the noise of the drying cycle. Since it dries by condensing, it uses a pump, I think, that every 20 seconds or so comes on and sprays water on the condenser. That means, for the whole drying time--which could be 2-3 hours--you will hear the noisy pump activate every 20 seconds! I was not familiar with this method, so it was very disconcerting and annoying--so much so, that I seriously considered returning the washer. However, I have gotten accustomed to it and mostly start the washer as I leave for work in the morning. When I come home for lunch, the laundry is washed and dried! I would recommend the machine only to people who can adapt to it!

Very Noisy in Drying Cycle
3 Star Review   By CDR2012 on Home Depot - Oct 10, 2012

Washer works well; lots of nice features. However, be aware that the drying cycle is very noisy: while it is drying, about every 20 seconds a noisy pump activates and, I think, sprays cold water on the condenser. That means, you will hear this noise every 20 seconds for however long it takes to dry your clothes, e.g., 60 minutes or more. I don't recall this being mentioned by many other reviewers, but I am mentioning it. If you are considering buying this machine, try to hear one in action from someone who has one, then decide if you can live with the noise.

I love this machine
5 Star Review   By lakerealtor on Home Depot - Oct 9, 2012

I live in a small house that had water hook-ups but no 220 and no vent. This All-In-One machine is the perfect answer. It fits in the small space, is quiet and efficient. I put the clothes in..go about my day and then they are dry. On rare occasion I have had to hang something to completely dry or re-set for more drying time. Doesn't bother me at all. NOTE: please check all pockets before washing. There is NO chance to find out that you left your husbands wallet in his pocket because you don't need to change loads between washing and drying. Believe me..a washed and dried leather wallet and its contents are not pretty. SO glad I purchased this and look forward to many years of use.

Very Cool, Tricky with Drying
4 Star Review   By Scotty on Home Depot - Oct 2, 2012

The product is super cool and definitely the most advanced. The biggest challenge is that while being super energy efficient, it appears to take a long time to dry. We needed the unit because we do not have external vents and we do not want heat, water, and lint about our small condo. I do not know why the drying takes so long, but the unit practically needs to be run for 3 hours to wash and dry a load. Clothes do have very little water in them after washing, so I'm surprised by the drying time.

Low water usage for clean clothes
5 Star Review   By wny2 on Home Depot - Sep 25, 2012

Anyone thinking of buying this product should read all of the reviews. Clothes come out damp dry and have to be hung up for a while before being put away. This isn't a problem for a small household or if you can do laundry often. This will not work for a larger family or if you do your laundry in one day. I like that the clothes are damp dry and aren't cooked to death. It's more forgiving and they are less wrinkled. I like that it uses less water and less soap. I also like that it doesn't need a gas hookup or a special outlet.

I love this washer/dryer! It is so solid and well built.
5 Star Review   By R2D2 on Home Depot - Sep 25, 2012

This machine really holds a LOT of clothes, et al. It is quiet and very sturdy on the pedestal. I'm still learning the balance to get things dry in one time but that will come.

For a couple living in an apt this is excellent in every way.
5 Star Review   By Jackie on Home Depot - Sep 21, 2012

I have only the best to say about the customer service/shipping as I had to make a change in the delivery/date and the various departments involved could not have been more helpful nor courteous in getting the changes done right!

Wish this had an option for a vent hookup and maybe it would not have been so hot.
2 Star Review   By Helena on Home Depot - Sep 21, 2012

I don't know why LG does not have an option to buy one of these with a vent hook-up. This heated up the room and the top of the unit was also hot to touch. Very loud, and took twice as long to wash and dry clothes than previous washer and dryer.

very happy with it so far
4 Star Review   By tjh0001 on Home Depot - Sep 11, 2012

Runs smoothly and quietly. Drying is not quite the same as a standalone dryer, but works OK. Things do come out a little damp sometimes and need to hang to air dry, but most of our clothes dry out quickly once we take them out. Great option for smallish apartments.

Fantastic - would not go back to a regular set again
5 Star Review   By KeithR on Home Depot - Sep 4, 2012

Very well built. Quiet operation. Takes a little getting used to the drying feature and the time it takes but not having to unload the washer into the dryer with every load is well worth it.

Worst ventless combo on the market.
1 Star Review   By member Debra713 - Aug 29, 2012

Strengths: It's big

Weakness: No "dry only" feature makes it's terrible drying much worse. You will need to buy a separate dryer with this unit or just live with WET clothes.

This ventless combo is terrible. This was my second venltess combo, and I have made a very expensive mistake in getting this model. There is no "dry only" feature, and a drying cycle is not on by default, meaning you and your family will accidentally wash without drying all the time. That means, you will have to REWASH them, because this unit requires you go through the full wash, rinse and spin cycles in order to do a dry cycle. What if they werent dry enough with that dry cycle? Too bad, you'll have to start from scratch again. There is no "dry only" setting, so you cannot just toss them back in the dryer for a few more minutes. By the way, the drying on this unit is awful anyway, so "damp" is about the best you'll get, especially since you cannot use the dryer by itself like every other ventless combo unit allows. We had to invest in a separate dryer after wasting the money on this garbage. If they had included a "dry only" feature like every other model this dryer problem would have been easily prevented. Save your money and get something else.

The product has a lot of options, great features.
4 Star Review   By Rose52 on Home Depot - Aug 17, 2012

Great product, however the drying time is greatly extended. If you are use to a conventional dryer, you will be a little disappointed. However, for a small space, with no venting, it is wonderful. It also runs on a regular electrical outlet, which makes it ideal for almost any where. Had it for three weeks now and happy with it.

I call it my EPIC machine.
5 Star Review   By ckitten01 on Home Depot - Aug 14, 2012

I've had my eye on this gem for a while till we finally got the money saved. We got it on sale a had it delivered about a week ago. We have two adults and one elderly in our household and this is perfect for us! We didn't have any hookups at all so this machine was the obvious answer for us. We installed the hot and cold outlets ourselves and just put the drain in the bathtub. Works perfect since it sits right next to it. A lot of the reviews are right about the clothes feeling damp when you take them out of the dryer but I've experimented with different cycles, settings, and load sizes so now I can take them out, shake the steam off and they are ready to fold and put away. I love not having to change the clothes from the washer to the dryer even if it takes a little longer because I can just toss a load in before I go to bed and when I wake up I can put it away. It's so quiet, we don't even hear it and it's just on the other side of the bedroom. I even love the little musical song it sings when it's done. Couldn't say anything bad about it and I will even admit to hugging it.

Love it!
5 Star Review   By phyl on Home Depot - Aug 14, 2012

We moved into an apartment recently that had washer hookups and a drain, but no dryer vent and only 110 power. This washer/dryer is perfect! Does not vent into the apartment, so does not heat up the apartment. The dryer does take a long time, but clothes come out soft with no wrinkles. To speed drying time, I have found it better to wash mixed loads. For instance, a load of 6-7 towels and washclothes does not dry efficiently. However, if I wash three bath towels with assorted t-shirts, socks, washclothes and underwear, everything comes out dry the first time around. Overall I am very pleased. The washer does a superb job of cleaning and is very quiet.

Awesome Product
5 Star Review   By Flip on Home Depot - Aug 14, 2012

Washes and dries very well. If you can read instructions, you won't have any problems with it. You can put your laundry to wash in the morning and have it dry and ready when you return. My favorite part is that, since it doesn't use excessive heat to dry, it doesn't shrink your clothes. It is a little pricey but very worth it if you have limited space or cannot vent. The only problem is that with only one unit you can't be washing one load while drying a second load. In the future, I'll add a second machine and stack them. With 2 of them, I can't offer a single performance complaint.

Very Happy!
5 Star Review   By jchamp on Home Depot - Aug 11, 2012

I cannot say enough good things about this appliance. As far as enery effic. and value that will come next month in form of my elect bill, but luv it. Very quiet, cleans clothes without spot remover - the drawer at bottom (have to order separately) makes the opening at arms height, so you don't have to bend over to put clothes in and take out. Highly recommend - best appliance I ever owned!! Had it professionally installed because I wanted a utility sink beside it.

No regrets!
5 Star Review   By CathyH on Home Depot - Aug 5, 2012

We bought this unit for our new (but older) home which doesn't have any dryer ventilation hook ups. The ventless dryer was an answer to our prayers! Now I don't have to line dry clothes :) Other reviews complain about the time each load takes and the damp feeling on clothes after a cycle. Both are true. Loads do take significantly longer and there is a SLIGHTLY damp feeling that quickly dries if you hang your clothes when the cycle is finished. This type of unit takes getting used to and is more of a life-style option. If you hate having to time loads of laundry between wash and dry or even lug heavy wet clothes to the dryer, this is a great option!

Works with Standard Electric Outlet, Water Source and Drain - No Need for Vent
5 Star Review   By Barb on Home Depot - Aug 3, 2012

I got this unit two months ago for a basement without a dryer vent. The laundry room is upstairs with the master but my bedroom is on a lower level. I asked a contractor about adding facilities for a standard washer and dryer but they wanted more than $3k to dig a drain, add an outlet, hot and cold water lines, and a vent in the concrete walls. For less than $1k, I added the outlet and water lines and a plumber cut a hole in my lift station and added a drain. I love this unit. I had two questions that were unanswered by the manual. How do you open the door to add or remove items or after it is done and says "cd"? Push the buttom to the right of the selector - the start/pause button. How do you use just the dryer? Turn the power on but don't select any of the options on the big selector. Select the dryer time and unselect the spin cycle, then hit the start/pause button. It quit draining this week and said OE. When I cleaned out the filter hose, it had enough cat hair to build a rat. That is my only complaint - hair builds up because the dryer function doesn't catch hair like a regular dryer. I have been very pleased with my purchase.

So far so good...
4 Star Review   By Gnslngr on Home Depot - Jul 25, 2012

I have owned this unit for about a month, I am single and live in a condo so the capacity and compactness were big factors in the buying decision. It's a well made machine that is quiet, easy to use, and the processor/software tells the unit the load is out of balance, so it stops whatever it's doing and the rotates clockwise or counterclockwise until it rebalances and the resumes the sequence. It doesn't use a traditional dryer vent, but I have found the drying cycle to be effective enough, and typically it's when you overload it that the need for an additional drying cycle is required. I have had some issues when I leave the dried/damp clothes in the basket too long but that's not really the machine's fault. I do recommend buying the additional base stand, it's a little pricey but it's only 1/8 the price of the unit and it puts the height at a perfect level for almost anyone, while providing yet more storage for a unit that is likely purchased to create more storage space to begin with. All told, very happy, if it fails in subsequent months will update the review.

Love It
5 Star Review   By Mike on Home Depot - Jun 19, 2012

I have had this for six months and can't say enough good things about it. I live in a condo with shared laundry facilities. I built a little laundry room using a utility closet and it is so convenient. I no longer have to drag everything downstairs and then back up. The drying takes longer but that's ok. I hang out the clothes during the summer and will use dryer during winter. Save on heating bill!!

Love this machine!!
5 Star Review   By Grumpykat on Home Depot - Jun 14, 2012

Everything comes out extra clean. My husband works outdoors, his clothes haven't been this clean. Electric and water bills are so low! It does take longer to complete a load, but it's nice not having to switch it over, I just come back when it's done. Wrinkles occur in larger loads that I wash, so ironing some pants may be required, but it's worth it to me!!

What's not to love???
5 Star Review   By eval58 on Home Depot - Jun 12, 2012

This is not the washer and dryer for a family of 4 or more - especially with babies or teenagers. This is the, however, the PERFECT machine for one or two adults. Pluses: 110 V (plugs into a regular wall socket) and it needs no venting. One machine to wash AND dry your clothes. Easy-peasy! There is nothing I can't do with this machine that I couldn't do with my old separate HE front loading washer and dryer. I can do extra-delicates or multiple heavy-duty cotton bath mats. I can simply wash, rinse, spin and remove an article of clothing and then dry the rest. Or, I can dry some things more than others. Some reviewers give these machines 1 star or no stars saying that they don't dry the clothes all the way. Bunk. Utter bunk. The clothing may feel damp-dry when you first remove it - hang it up, reach for another garment and touch the first one again - it feels dry after a moment. It's just like using electric rollers in your hair, that same damp-dry for a moment feeling. The second thing other reviewers complain about is time. It's true you won't be doing the second load of wash while the first is in the dryer, but that's why I said this is not for families with babies or teenagers (virtual clothes-dirtying machines!). The other minus some reviewers site is time. It doesn't take 5-6 hours to do a load of wash. I suppose it could if you put a huge load in and selected every extra available, but who would? As you experiment with your first few loads, you'll discover what drying time works best for you. Choosing like materials is a great way to keep the loads smaller and the drying times lower. I wash all the towels together, the sheets together, etc. In short, this is a genius device for 1-2 people who want to save $ - one machine costs less than two mid-to-high-end machines. And one machine uses much less energy than two. And, this is perfect when space is a premium, when there is no venting for a dryer - or in our case, when a vented dryer could cause the boiler flue reverse direction. Minuses: The laundry room does get warm. It's noticeable in the summer but I expect it will be great in the winter. I honestly wish I'd had this machine 10 years ago. As it is, I look forward to the next ten years :-) Three cheers to LG for bringing this machine to the United States.

Great washer but dryer capability leaves something to be desired!
4 Star Review   By Cleangirl95 on Home Depot - Jun 7, 2012

The washer seems to be superior to most but my socks are damp and the need to hang everything to dry seems ludicrous. I tried washing my blanket and now have it hanging on my sofa to dry. I read my owners manual and called the C/S Dept of Lg. The rep. explained that this machine is not designed to "dry all the way." I like this machine but I like when things are dry and I needn't find places to hang things as though I do not have a dryer.

One of the best purchases I've made this year...
5 Star Review   By LuckyBuyer on Home Depot - Jun 5, 2012

When you take care of ANY product the way intended, you shouldn't notice the same problems as anyone else--try to remember that when reading other reviews! Just so I help make it easy for you: --Clean the dryer when you notice any lint around the 'edges' --Meaning wipe it down... --'OE' probably means that your drain is clogged...SIMPLY un latch the FRONT of the machine, pull the filter out (as per instructions) AND CLEAN IT! --All it takes is dumping it out in the trash --Rinsing it, just to be sure its clean --DO NOT PUT YOUR DRAIN HOSE IN THE SINK! --Everyone has this problem, so DONT DO IT! --Instead place the drain hose in a BUCKET that is smaller than the machine.... **Drain plug to high = CLOGGING of drain** Good luck! And have fun!

NEVER RETURN TO CONVENTIONAL
5 Star Review   By CATT49 on Home Depot - Jun 3, 2012

We researched combo machines for several months and decided on the smaller version LG; the 2.7. We are temporarily living in a trailer and needed something that would fit in a 24" square closet, in the bathroom. It's been fun experimenting on load size and programming. We have found that the normal setting and damp dry works best for most washes. The loads come out a little damp, but within moments are dry without wrinkles. Someone mentioned washing their Shark mop pads. Mine also came out spotless. Everything comes out cleaner. I would never return to the conventional machines. In fact, when we move to larger quarters we intend to get this larger machine.

Excellent Machine - No Downside
5 Star Review   By Gator on Home Depot - May 25, 2012

I've had one of these for about five years and it has performed flawlessly. Prior to this unit, I had a less expensive machine made by different manufacturer and it was a repair nightmare. The old axiom, "you get what you pay for," is certainly true. I have nothing but good things to say about this machine and give it my highest and most unqualified recommendation.

Great for limited spaces
5 Star Review   By AtJETsCommand on Home Depot - May 16, 2012

After just two weeks, I am thrilled with my LG all in one washer/dryer. I can put in a load of laundry and program the machine to wash and dry and then go out for the day not worrying about wet laundry waiting to be moved to the dryer. The laundry comes out exceptionally clean and wrinkle free. it took a little experimenting to find the right settings to use, but now every load is perfect. The machine fits nicely in my small laundry closet and it left me room to put up a hanging bar for the items I don't want to machine dry.

works great
5 Star Review   By Heather on Home Depot - May 15, 2012

This machine replaced a stacked washer dryer unit we were using. I'm so glad we upgraded! It takes up half the space the stacked unit did but works so much better. It's quiet and very efficient. It has a lot of settings you can adjust to get just the right wash for your load. We have a baby and all of the baby-associated messes are washed out perfectly. There's even a "sanitary" setting for those really gross messes. The dryer part works pretty well but it doesn't get clothes as dry as a traditional dryer. On the other hand, our old dryer routinely burned small holes in our clothes so I much prefer this one. It steam dries the clothes rather than using a heating element. The clothes come out slightly damp to the touch but quickly air dry the rest of the way. I actually enjoy skipping the drying step all together and line drying my clothes outside. They dry quickly due to the great spinning action at the end of the wash cycle.

Love my LG Washer/Dryer Combo
5 Star Review   By Kathy on Home Depot - May 14, 2012

I have had my LG Washer/Dryer Combo for just over a week, I had let my laundry pile up some and used it almost every day to get my laundry caught up. It is just my husband and I, so now that I'm caught up, it will be a matter of a load every three or four days. I love that it is ventless, we live in an apartment with no hookups. We have it sitting in our dining room and the kitchen sink is just around the corner. Easy to just hook it up and put the drain hose in the sink and start it. It faces our livingroom, so it is fun to be able to watch it go through the cycles. I have found that setting the dry to Normal dries the clothes just fine. They seem damp when you take them out, but just shake them, which I usually did anyway and they are dry. I can do medium size loads and they come out dry. I do love the little sound it makes when you turn it on and when it is done. Be sure the water is one cold when the dryer is going, otherwise your clothes won't dry and it will mess up the condensor. I know it sounds strange to have water for the dry cycle, but that's how it works. I would recommend this to anyone with a small family (1-4 people). I also love that I don't have to make plans to go the laundromat anymore and can do laundry any day of the week I want. It will pay for itself in no time at all. I LOVE IT!!!!

5 Star Review   By Stephanie on Home Depot - Apr 28, 2012

I am in LOVE with this machine! It is so easy to use and is a perfect fit in my small laundry space. The first load of laundry I washed was the pads for my Shark steam mop. Perfect Laundry Solution
5 Star Review   By AngelJ on Home Depot - Apr 10, 2012

I love this LG washer dryer combo machine. The electric supply in my laundry room is 15 amp 110/120Volt. My portable electric dryer died (a little Kenmore over 20 years old) and this combo machine fit the bill as a replacement. I was already used to drying smaller loads in the portable so have no problems with the size. It washes and dries great and plays a cute melody when its done.

This machine is really incredible
5 Star Review   By HappyLGMomma on Home Depot - Mar 14, 2012

This unit was hooked up inexpensively to my kitchen sink. 3/4 in. x 1 ft. Washing Machine Y Hose (bathroom kitchen plumbing aisle), 2 of these: Dual Thread for 3/4 in. brass Hose male Male 55/64 in. Adapter (lawn and garden aisle), 3/4 in. copper Small Snap Coupler (kitchen bathroom plumbing aisle), long Snap Fitting Adapter(kitchen and bath plumbing aisle), 3/4 in. Brass Swivel Hose Adapter (lawn and garden aisle), and 4 appliance wheels. The snap fitting adapter screws into the faucet making an attachment for snapping on and off washer hoses easy. On the washer, hook up the hoses that are provided with the machine, to the end of each hose attach one of the copper male male adapters, to each of these adapters attach the ends of the Y hose which makes 2 hoses one hose. to the now single end of this hose, attach the female female coupler and into the other end of this now female end, attach the Bubble-Stream 3/4 in. Brass Small Snap Coupler. now this can be snapped onto the sink by slipping on to the NEOPERL long Snap Fitting Adapter. I initially tested this system and there were a couple small leaks so I used that white plumbers ribbon tape stuff at each of the connections and viola, no leaks and the machine washes and dries like a jewel. The drain hose i rubber banded a nylon panty hose sock to it's end to catch any lint that might drain out into the sink to prevent the sink from clogging during the draining which would cause overflow of sink. This works awesome. Just replace the sock periodically. This unit comes with the standard 120V electric cord, so does not require rewiring of any kind, nor the purchase of a cord, and comes with the hoses so NO need to purchase these either. Although all the couplers, adapters, and Y hose I have suggested above are separately purchased at home depot. no need to vent to the outside, since it has a condenser exhaust. Essentially a very small amount of cold water is passed over the hot steam to cool it before air is released into the room and residual water is condensed out of the released air and released out the drain pipe! VERY CLEVER! Wheels are easy, just tip the machine slightly sideways, remove locking bolt and adjustment foot, insert the wheel into this hole, do for all four feet. Makes moving this machine around in the kitchen a breeze. The machine is level if the floor is level, and since the machine hardly vibrates and does not shake the machine does not move during the cycle despite being on wheels. I questioned buying locking wheels, and opted for the lower cost non-locking wheels and glad I saved the money since the machine runs so smoothly I didn't need them to lock. Machine is beautiful! Stylish! It has an LED light in the drum so loading and unloading is easy. energy efficient. The programming is a breeze. I recommend reading the whole 40 some pages of the user manual prior to use. One of my smartest purchases! The price is very cost effective when compared to going to a laundry mat which includes all fees and wear and tear on their machine. Owning your own machine is so economical! With the energy star rating and adjustable program settings, washing can literally be in your budget. Oh, and the convenience of not having to lug laundry! So pleased! Compare if you must, but I did my homework, and this was my decision. The capacity is large enough for my queen size comforter, I can't say that for stackables and other washers.

an industrial machine
5 Star Review   By Pals501 on Home Depot - Mar 5, 2012

I'm entranced by this machine. It's not for everyone and it took some getting use to, but I love it. It's got powerful, industrial heft. Clothes that I thought had permanent stains are now spotless. I like to hang my damp clothes so other's concerns re:drying aren't an issue for me. Five + months together now and I'm sold on this process.

Don't give up!
5 Star Review   By elizagrace on Home Depot - Mar 2, 2012

I've had this machine for over a year now and still love it. Every so often a load is not completely dry but that's pretty unusual and I wash some large loads. Set the washer to cotton/normal and press the dry button for Normal. Really, that should work, and if not, call LG to have them send someone out to check the motherboard/computer system. It may be as simple as a quick reprogram - everything is computerized now... Good Luck!

Beautiful looking machine but not easy to use. Can’t get clothes thoroughly dry yet. But am going to give it one more try before I try to return it. Think if I set it on max. spin and max heat for longest time it may work. But doubt that it’ll cost only $14 annually to run.

It's a miracle
5 Star Review   By grreapsphos on Home Depot - Feb 28, 2012

This machine is rad. It gets my clothes super clean, even when I jam it full to the lid. My clothes look better and are cleaner than with the agitating machine I had previously. It is awesome. We have a family of 4 with 2 small kids that get everything filthy, and this machine makes all clothes look and smell better than they ever did including blankets/winter coats, anything. I took a look at my 8 year old son's jeans after they came out of the wash, and I didn't recognize them--they looked new. Our washing machine broke and our vented electric dryer broke, in the same week. We have a condo with a water heater that runs on electricity. This machine saves water, saves a load of money on our electricity bill (the energy star tag says that this machine, using an electric water heater, costs $17 per year to use). I love that I do not need a special "grounded dryer plug" to run the machine. regular plug, saves water and electricity=awesome. So we calculated the cost of the machine over the year, knowing we could have got a cheaper, traditional set of washer/dryers (came to about $125 per month). When we didn't have a washer, we'd be spending at least 40 dollars per month at the laundromat, not including the stress of driving, waiting, and taking kids to the laundromat. Buying 2 new units would cost about the same as this unit, maybe $500-800 less or so if I decided to get a lesser quality pair, but the long-term energy and water savings will more than make up for any upfront price difference. I've never had such clean clothes. I love the extra space. This is a fantastic machine. Make sure the delivery people don't scratch it up! Ask them to cover it with a cloth before shoving through a doorway!

good washer, poor dryer
2 Star Review   By sncs on Home Depot - Feb 21, 2012

It can take several hours to dry a load of laundry and some items become very twisted and wrinkled.

On the first use, an error code came on the screen and we are still dealing with getting it fixed.
3 Star Review   By Meredith on Home Depot - Feb 19, 2012

Love the idea of this product. I don't mind that the cycle from start to finish takes a couple of hours. I love that we can put laundry in before bed or as we are heading out to work for the day, knowing it will be done when we return. The problem is that one of the "Call for service" error codes came up our first day using the machine and now the serviceman has had to order a new motor and a new motherboard or something (it sounds like they really don't even know what is wrong with it, even though you'd think that's what the specific error code is for). So, we have had it for 2 weeks and are glad we hadn't yet gotten rid of our stand-alone dryer that still works because the error only comes up when we use the machine as a washer AND dryer. So we can only use it for now as a washer. Bummed out.

The BEST thing I have purchased in YEARS!!!!
5 Star Review   By WICKEDHAPPYMOMMA on Home Depot - Feb 18, 2012

We are a family of 2, and live on a second floor, which makes lugging laundry up and down the front porch and flight of stairs such an inconvenience to get to the laundry mat and back home. The cost of doing laundry at the laundromat, includes electric, water, and wear and tear on their machines, the rent of the laundromat (overhead fees of business)- doing the laundry at home, I only have to pay for the electric, which is highly efficient, and the washer/dryer is my own wear and tear. The cost of this machine is so low, and after a few month of washing I will have saved more than the cost of the machine. I was spending nearly 200 per month washing. I am so happy I can't begin to tell you! this machine is a space saver, easy to install, easier to use! It's also a beautiful appliance! I have the machine for hook up to the kitchen sink as per the suggestion of the reviewer below, and I can roll the washer over to the sink when I need a load, and roll away afterwards. Set the machine to wash and dry, and go about my business. TADA! clean awesome clothes! no fuss, no muss! I have always loved LG everything! High quality and built to last! I highly recommend this machine, and with a 10% off appliance sale, free shipping, this is the time to buy! the drum size is huge! I wash larger loads and can hang the stuff to dry, saving even more money! The stackable washers literally are so small, blankets and bedding won't fit, forcing these items to be brought to the laundromat. Purchasing a larger capacity washer enables anything and everything to be washed at home. I am so happy that I was moved to share my satisfaction with you, hoping that I may help you make a great purchase. This price is less than many double units, so save time, save money, and find the pleasure that comes from a washer that remembers to dry it's own laundry even if you don't! :) :) :) :)

Great washer for small spaces
5 Star Review   By SammyB on Home Depot - Jan 31, 2012

My husband and I decided to go with this washer and dryer combo when we bought a condo with a laundry room that was seriously smaller than most coat closets. Needless to say we have been trying to maximize our space and organization options. Neither of us had heard of a washer/dryer combo so we were a bit skeptical about this purchase, I mean you can buy both a stackable washer and dryer for the price of this combo unit, but the space that you get to keep open for additional storage is priceless. We have been so happy with this purchase! It uses less water, less energy, does not need a vent, plugs into a standard wall outlet, has a great warranty on the motor, has great functions and options, and is obviously compact. We have a 14 month old that sleeps in the adjacent bedroom and he never wakes up when we run the wash at night. The washer is great at getting our clothes clean as well; it gets the orange carrot stains out of his clothes very well. It's awesome to throw a load in before bed and have it dry in the morning! For our three person family the size of the washer is perfect, but if you are someone who does multiple loads of laundry a day on a regular basis this may not be the machine for you. The only problem is that the dryer uses hot water to dry your clothes so the drying time is about twice as much as with a standard dryer, but the real key is to not overload the machine! Dryers typically have a larger capacity than their matching washers so that they can dry a full load efficiently, so as long as you keep that in mind your clothes will dry in a timely manner. And home depot is awesome about delivering and hauling away appliances; we have been very pleased with them. I would definitely recommend this unit to people who do not do massive amounts of laundry every day and have space restrictions.
